Axl does not wish to be at this party, there is a very large possibility that he will see his ex Maya tonight after two years. He is still hurting from when she decided to end things after he said he wasn't ready for marriage, heck he still loves her so much it hurts. Then suddenly, there she is, dressed in red looking amazing.
Maya is back in New York to celebrate her great-great-grandmother's 100 birthday and vow renewal. It's nice to be surrounded by her family once again, especially as her divorce to Carlos came through the day before. Ending their marriage and hoping to put the lies and deception behind her. Then she spots Axl across the room, just as he heads out to leave.
Can they truly move past the last two years apart, can they forgive each other for misunderstandings and miscommunication? Are they truly meant to be together?

Great set up for a series with the well written characters I expect from Jessica Marlowe. The tension between MCs is easy to feel and identify with. The meddling grandmother is a hoot. The hero and heroine who have found themselves in an odd stand off have a sweet, hot, sexy reunion that is anything but simple or solved at the end of the book. Looking forward to the next installment!
