I enjoyed the opposites attract romance between Tommy and Abby. Tommy is exactly a dirty charmer and a dirty talker. He is a laid back, rough around the edges, gorgeous man attracted to the staid, no nonsense, straight laced aristocrat Abby. They meet in the hospital where Abby is working on her doctoral residency and Tommy is recuperating from an injury sustained while performing his bodyguard work. The desire between them is sizzling right from the beginning.
What starts out as a no strings attached arrangement blossoms into more. It was captivating to see how their relationship develops. Although the book mentioned characters from previous books by Ms. Chase, this book can be read as a stand-alone. It is a quick read with fast pacing. The storyline flows evenly and is believable. The love scenes are intense and very hot.
I recommend this entertaining and engaging book.

I love Emma Chase's Royally books, and I was so excited to see we were getting another in this series. I couldn't have been happier to find out it was Tommy Sullivan's story. I loved him in Logan and Ellie's book and I was so excited to watch this bodygaurd find his match. And he did just that when he met Abigail Haddock.
Abigail is a doctor and meets Tommy for the first time when he's in the ER. I loved their first meeting. Tommy and Abby couldn't be more different if they tried. Tommy is a bit wild and reckless, but in a good way, whereas Abby is more straitlaced and organized. I would have never seen these two as a couple, but Tommy is enamored with Abby and pursues her relentlessly.
This couple did not have an easy go of it. There were family issues, misunderstandings, and life got in the way, but with time, they were determined to figure it out. I loved how Tommy never gave up on Abby and respected her work, life, and loved her for her. They really were a fantastic couple.
Dirty Charmer showcases just how much opposites really do attract. I love that Tommy and Abby are so different, yet they're perfect for one another. Emma Chase has blown me away with this series. I've loved every book and this is no exception. If you're looking for a book that's fun, steamy, sweet, and will keep a smile on your face, pick this one up!

Another romance novel filled with sexy times, emotions that run through the best of ways, and a possessive bodyguard wanting nothing more than to express his love and passion to his one true soul mate...
Y'all, Emma Chase has never disappointed me with her books... Especially royal trope books. Though this one has a twist to it, a twist that I was sort of expecting yet had a thrill for receiving and reading this novel. Tommy is the bodyguard that I have been wanting and drool over since day one when Emma wrote Nicholas' and Olivia's story. I was definitely expecting a lot of dirty times in bed coming from Tommy, but what I was not expecting was the emotional challenges and attractiveness coming from him and also coming from Abby. Yet, my love for both of them is immense after reading their romance novel. I will forever engrave them in my heart and cherish their true story.
Though we have heard from Abby in previous books, we never truly had an insight as to the type of persona she is. This overachiever, family statued and follower, and internal risk taker, shies away from captivating the curiosities running through her head. That's when Tommy comes in, a bull dozer who is not afraid and is more then willing to open up her not only her physical cravings, but slowly also open up her heart for more;
Their first interaction is one that never leaves the mind of Abby and Tommy, even after years of life getting in the way and building a life of their own. Becoming a well renowned doctor by many is what truly become the achievement Abby is striving for. Make her family, and most importantly, her grandmother proud of the medical achievements she has conquered. Though her family is not one to strive for the unexpected or surprises, Abby learns with Tommy it's okay to let your guard down once in a while and become the person she always was and will always be by being with him;
There is something beyond beautiful about these two. Not only are they total opposites and come from families with different values and perspectives, but they mesh in a way that is both magical and inspirational. Though this is a fictional story, you truly get enthralled with the words Emma writes. I am not sure if she is planning on writing any more royal romance related novels, but if she does, you can count me in!

What happens when you put together an easy-going playboy bodyguard and a straight-laced and driven surgeon in training? The cutest stinking romance ever, that's what! This was opposites attract perfection and I loved every page of it!
I've been chomping at the bit to get my grabby little hands on Tommy's story. I loved him as a secondary characters, and I just knew that I was going to fall head over ovaries for him as a hero. And you know what? I was not wrong!
There's just something so free spirited about Tommy. He's always quick to joke and even quicker to smile. I loved his fun and outgoing personality. The man has zingers for days and I couldn't get enough.
Abigail is his opposite in every way. In a family of overachievers, all she's ever known was her need to be the best cardiac surgeon. She's driven to a fault with only one thing in sight. Men don't even factor into the equation. Even when they're stupidly handsome and persistent as Tommy.
I loved the romance between the two of them because it catches both of them off guard. Neither saw the other coming and there's something so fun about watching them fall for each other. Where Tommy is quicker on the uptake, Abigail takes a little more time and convincing. I loved that in particular, because it's a change of pace between the heroine trying to chase the playboy, and you have the playboy having to chase the woman and she definitely makes him work for it.
Their chemistry was through the roof! This put a smile on my face from the very first page and kept it there until the end. Simply delicious!

Let me start off by saying that, I apparently have reached a point where ordinary is not enough for me anymore, so please bear this in mind while reading this review.
The plot, which is mainly the romance between Tommy and Abby, is pretty cliché. If you go back to the most basic elements of romance novels and consider which tropes this book might cover from the info you garnered from the blurb you’d be able to get an idea of what will happen. I was very underwhelmed, to say the least, and it was just too simple and not special enough for me to fall in love with this book. I was hoping for something original, but unfortunately, this type of story has been done a thousand times before already…
With no “real” plot and therefore the complete focus on the couple, I expected to at least be able to witness how they fall in love and see how well they work together. That was not the case here. Most of the bonding I so desperately wanted, happened “off-screen”, things they did were just glossed over by informing the reader that they did whatever and had a great time, and then this happened, and 3 weeks later this. Unfortunately, the way the story was told only left me with a sense of detachment while reading.
Now, I know everything I just mentioned sounds super negative, but I honestly don’t think there’s anything wrong with the book if you take it at face-value: a straightforward, pretty simple, and not too complicated or angsty romance. I’m convinced that many will love this book for its lightheartedness and especially, for its fun and charming hero.
For me, Dirty Charmer probably just came at the wrong time which is why I’m settling for 3 stars.

I love Emma Chase. She’s written some of my favorite contemporary romances/rom-coms (Tangled! Sustained!), so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the newest in her Royally series! I recently caught myself up on this royal romance series and was so excited to hear that Tommy would get his story. I enjoyed his and Abby’s romance so much. It’s sweet, sexy, feel-good… all things that Emma Chase is good at writing.
Dirty Charmer is quite the opposites-attract romance. We’ve got our easy-going, charmer, playboy hero who doesn’t come from money and now owns a bodyguard company, and proper, no-nonsense, aristocratic surgeon-in-training heroine who doesn’t have time for fun or games. They first meet when she cares for him at her hospital when he gets hurt, but truly get to know each other when her family hires him and his company as temporary bodyguards. Tommy is so flirty with Abby and determined to bring out her lighter, fun side. I just loved the way these two were with each other!
What begins as a no strings attached affair turns into something more when Tommy realizes he no longer cares for the playboy lifestyle and only wants Abby. I love a heroine knocks a manwhore hero off his feet. Dirty Charmer was just a blast to read – Tommy is a sweetheart, Abby is such a strong, admirable heroine. These two totally worked together and I enjoyed their romance so much! This isn’t quite a royal romance as no one actually belongs to royalty, but if you’re a fan of the series, this new installment is a must read.

I was waiting for this book, and omg it was so good!It was just amazing, it has so many thing I love .It was heartwarming,sexy,angsty and fun! This story is about Tommy and Abby.
The chemistry between them is fantastic, I loved every moment they have together.Tommy is funny and charming!I adored him, they were perfect for each other!
I highly recommend it!

In Emma Chase's Dirty Charmer not only do opposites attract, they have a chemistry so hot you're Kindle will combust. Tommy and Abby are completely different, he's a laid back playboy and she's an overachieving, too-focused Doctor. But that also makes them the perfect couple that gave us so much to love.
Tommy wanted Abby something fierce and he wouldn't let her shy away from him, which I loved. It took them some time, and a little push from Abby's friends, for them to actually start a relationship more than just bodyguard-protectee but once they did the chemistry was off the charts hot. I actually think the author pushed the boundaries a bit with this book and gave the story some of the hottest moments I've read from her.
It was so easy to fall in love with this couple but they didn't have the easiest time considering they both had families betting against them. In Emma Chase's Dirty Charmer not only do opposites attract, they have a chemistry so hot you're Kindle will combust. Tommy and Abby are completely different, he's a laid back playboy and she's an overachieving, too-focused Doctor. But that also makes them the perfect couple that gave us so much to love.
Tommy wanted Abby something fierce and he wouldn't let her shy away from him, which I loved. It took them some time, and a little push from Abby's friends, for them to actually start a relationship more than just bodyguard-protectee but once they did the chemistry was off the charts hot. I actually think the author pushed the boundaries a bit with this book and gave the story some of the hottest moments I've read from her.
It was so easy to fall in love with this couple but they didn't have the easiest time considering they both had families betting against them. But in the end it just made their connection that much stronger. Overall, this is definitely a book I'd recommend reading and I'd say it could be read as a standalone with no problem.

Tommy Sullivan is one of the sexiest, cheekiest, most laid-back heroes you'll ever read about and he'll sweep you off your feet and steal your heart a second later.

Abby Haddock is driven and, yes, a little stuffy. In a family of overachievers she feels ordinary and average and an urge to excel. Enter Tommy, unconventional and so the opposite of what she thinks she needs. What Abby needs though is some balance to her stressful job so an arrangement with benefits with a beautiful bodyguard who challenges her might just be the thing. What was supposed to be fun and a stress-reliever soon turns into so much more. Tommy does his thing, you know, the feet-sweeping and heart-stealing, chases her with the tenacity of bulldog and Abby tumbles head over heels and so totally unexpected that she doesn't brace for impact.

It's hard to resist Tommy. Always a cocky grin and a comeback on his lips he will entertain you throughout the entire story. Emma Chase knows how to write a lovable manwhore with a soft heart who will stay a rogue even after he has been tamed. I really liked that Abby took her time to figure things out - a little reserved and emotionally stunted she needed to analyze the consequences of their relationship from every angle. But Tommy also softened her, made her stronger, lighten up a little and have fun. And he makes her feel extraordinary and special, a feeling she isn't familiar with. I adored their relationship which is so full of laughter and honesty and tenderness.
Emma Chase connects this book directly to her Royally series. You'll see some familiar characters - I delight in those reunions. I love catching up with heroes and heroines from previous books! I've been waiting for DIRTY CHARMER a long time. It was so worth it. I had so much fun watching Abby and Tommy fall in love and enjoyed every minute with them. And damn their chemistry, DAYUM. Emma Chase has a knack for writing super-endearing characters in sexy, cute stories. I can't wait to see whose book will be next!

The more books I try from this writer, the more clearly I see that Tangled is the only one that does it for me.
This book is bad... really bad in many ways.
- It is boring and ridiculous.
- The characters are not likable. The heroine is a human robot in many ways but I was able to tolerate her. I know she is a busy doctor etc but she even has fixed dates for masturbation: Tuesdays and Saturdays. Oh, come on! The hero, on the other hand, he is the worst. He is repulsive. I really despised him. He is vulgar in an unattractive way. All he thinks about is how he wants to corrupt her.
- There is no chemistry or spark between the two characters. Everything feels forced and fake.
I tried hard to like it. I really did. And I forced myself to continue until their first sex scene. But here I am, still feeling nothing other than boredom and indifference.
Sorry but I have to DNF it at 50%.
And each book that I cannot finish gets a 1-star rating from me. I should be able to find something in a book that makes me want to go on and here, I don't even feel like going to the last chapter and read how they end up together. I couldn't care less. I just want to delete it from my library.

But Tommy is no shy man and he makes sure Abby knows what he feels for her even with his rule of not mixing business with pleasure. But what will happen after the two weeks are over?
She’s a tightly shut door, who just needs the right key to pop her lock. In more ways than one.

The only possible ending for us is a happy one. I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life. I can do this. We can do this.
Therefore, I am rating Dirty Charmer with 4.5 STARS because it was one heck of an experience for me! I loved getting back in the Royally world, seeing bits and pieces of those characters I loved so much and seeing the wonderful Tommy fall in love with just as wonderful Abby. Opposites attract and how very much these two are to each other! Emma Chase has given us another couple to love, many new characters around them (are we getting more books? I hope so!) and an allover hilarious and sexy love story you definitely don’t want to miss!

I had no idea what this was when I started reading. I really should have read the blurb, but imagine my elation when I found out it was Tommy’s book!! I absolutely love this world Emma Chase has created and it’s was a fantastic treat to delve back in once again.
Here’s what I loved:

Gah!! I have been in love with Emma Chase's stories since Tangled and so I could not wait to jump on this story. Dirty Charmer is a spinoff from the Royally trilogy but is a complete standalone. Tommy and Abby were just so delightful. This story had the amazing banter we've come to expect from Emma Chase's stories but it also had a fiery and passionate connection that could not be denied! I loved Tommy and Abby together so much!
At first glance, Tommy and Abby are as opposites can be, but when we get the chance to delve beneath the surface we see how perfectly matched these two really are. Their chemistry was fiery and once the fun loving and sexy Tommy and the "stuffy" and sensible Abby got together, it was pure fireworks! I also loved seeing Logan and Ellie again as Royally Endowed was my absolute favorite book in the Royally trilogy. So now seeing Logan's business partner, another elite bodyguard finding his match, was icing on the cake. Overall this story was funny, sexy and banterific. Tommy was to die for delicious and I for one hope we get more books from S&S Securities! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Abby’s family is the epitome of the “no fun”—they’re stiff, stuffy, abrupt, judgmental. Abby is driven by her need to succeed and needs Tommy to remind her that there’s life outside of work. That there’s fun to be had—that there’s room for love and romance.
And whoa, do they have some fun. **eyebrow wiggle** Their romance is fun, sexy, easy. Until it gets a little too real. A little too beyond the “no strings” agreement they made. And getting them to admit that their fun, their chemistry, their everything was something that would truly last forever.

When this book landed on my kindle, I legit squealed with joy because I've been waiting for this for YEARS. If you remember Tommy Sullivan, he's one of the royal bodyguards in Royally series and he's best mates with Logan St. James. He's cocky, sexy and an absolute charmer.
Tommy met his love interest when he was confined in the hospital. She's a resident doctor from a noble family. Abigail Haddock is passionate and caring. She remains focus and tries to live up with her family's expectation. It's exhausting and she's kind of a stuck-up career woman. Sometimes you have to give yourself time to chill and it's undeniable she had chemistry with Tommy. They hooked up and of course, Tommy pursues her from friends-with-benefits to a longtime relationship.

As if being a bodyguard wasn't sexy enough, Tommy also had good looks to back up his cock-sure attitude. He may have been a playboy, but being raised around women, he respected and took care to be nice to them. He was funny, and outside of his job, he never took life too seriously.

In contrast, Abby was insecure and reserved. She was beautiful and brilliant. Proving her self-worth in her family was of the utmost importance, and being good, wasn't good enough. She had to be great, extraordinary. She couldn't just be a surgeon, she had to be the BEST heart surgeon. This meant she worked hard and studied relentlessly. She didn't have friends, because she didn't have time for them. She was in a relationship with her destiny. She was destined to be great which meant she had to put all of her energies into her work.
When she's told she needs to lighten up and live a little - because her singular focus may harm her future, Abby takes Tommy up on his no-strings-attached 'relationship'.

Delicious. I really like this book. Dyring this crazy pandemic, a hero like Tommy is all I need. He is sexy, charming and decent alpha male. Decent meaning he is not flaunting his ego like a peacock.
Miss Chase always have a realistic sweet hero and I do love the signature banter between her characters. The plot is light and not OTT. I think this series is a lighter read. Shorter too.

Miss Chase always have a realistic sweet hero and I do love the signature banter between her characters. The plot is light and not OTT. I think this series is a lighter read. Shorter too.

A right royal Charmer...
With Covid-19 and currently working remotely, I'm no longer listening while I'm catching the train to work. Now, my listening time is every morning when I go for my walk. I have moved my embarrassing emotional upheavals to the walking path. Now, I have to duck my head when tears form, try and muffle my snorts of laughter, and disguise my shivers of delight. My walking path regulars must think I'm a bit of a nut because Dirty Charmer had me experiencing the full range of emotions.
When it comes to dedicated workaholics, I have never understood putting work ahead of love, family or even socialising. I am definitely not a workaholic and love, family and socialising is a high priority for me. But, workaholics make the world go around and I acknowledge that we need them. So, how can I deny a workaholic from finding love? When I come across a book like Dirty Charmer, and comprehend how much dedication is needed to become a surgeon, I again realise we need workaholics. It's just a matter of finding the right partner to be the stress reliever, distractor, and...dirty charmer.
I absolutely loved this couple together and even though they are so different they just seemed to be perfectly suited to each other. While Abby is a wee bit stuffy, Tommy is extremely laidback. Abby puts on an aristocratic mask of decorum, while Tommy doesn't put on any airs any graces and is a little bit rough around the edges. They balance each other out and it somehow makes their lives better for it. Abby and Tommy's chemistry is off the charts and extremely HOT!!
The narrators do an amazing job and brought this story to life for me. Abby's refined voice was a pleasure to listen to and Tommy's voice definitely sounded like the Dirty Charmer he is.
I was so excited when I came across this audio in the Audible Escape package and borrowed it immediately. Emma Chase's stories are always amazing and the Royally series is one of my favourites. If you haven't had a chance to start this series yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. Dirty Charmer was definitely a winner for me.

4.5 “Magic Peen” Stars
What a sweet and easy read!! The cocky hero and the sweet demure heroine are the quintessential opposites attract couple and Emma Chase shows that love always conquers all. It may be a little bumpy of a ride with all the potholes and detours but the journey makes for a meaningful and wonderful ride.
Tommy Sullivan is the lovable cocky bodyguard that use to guard Prince Nicholas but now owns his own security company. We met him back in Royally Screwed. Abby Haddock, technically, Lady Abigail or Dr. Haddock is the sweet, people pleaser who is driven to be the best surgeon for her family. These two run in different circles but your heart never follows the rules when it falls. They have a great sassy banter, start off as friends with benefits and as they enjoy their “friends”relationship, they begin to really fall for one another and realize that life without each other is not what they want.
There is some angst, some family meddling on both sides but over all this story is just a terrific feel good romance that makes you smile and remember why you love contemporary romance. Emma Chase is one of the best of contemporary romance writers and I can honestly recommend all her books for the adorable arrogant hero’s and her fiercely lovable heroines and of course, the BEST HEAs.

Dirty Charmer by Emma Chase landed on our kindles so we just had to get stuck in straight away as we couldn’t wait for Tommy Sullivan’s story. This bodyguard (check out the Royally Series) is a powerhouse with a dry and cheeky sense of humour -completely deadpan- which has had us in stitches. What we love about Tommy is that he takes one day at a time, enjoying his life, job, family and friends with an almost child-like approach, but at no time were we fooled into believing he is not ALL MAN where and when it counts! Tommy is so confident in who he is that it’s impossible to not fall in love with this cocky and endearing protector! We’re glad his mum didn’t drown him at birth as the medium advised hahaha!!!! When Tommy is hired to guard the quiet and aspiring heart surgeon who is the epitome of stiff upper lip he recognises her from a stint in hospital and what Tommy wants, Tommy gets. And Tommy wants Abby. This is a complete case of opposites attracts with explosive chemistry and fierce passion.

Abby is a complete control freak, a trait instilled in her from birth as her grandmother watches her every move with her beady little eyes. Every part of Abby’s daily life and future path is scheduled with a self-imposed timeline. She’s like a coiled spring waiting to snap, needing to be slowly oiled and unravelled by the luscious Tommy…pun intended. The upper crust is always hard to please but charm, cheekiness and sexual prowess takes down the whole house in a war of want, need and propriety. Some care about hurting hearts – other care about upper-class protocol, however, what the heart wants trumps all.

Emma Chase reminded us once again as to why we love the way in which she writes so much. Her stories are written with such natural –bang on- humour which is so intricately placed that it makes us guffaw out loud. It makes us care about the characters to the nth degree, even down to the secondary characters. We loved that we got to meet much loved familiar faces too. Tommy and Abby’s love story was a testament to how we need a partner who brings balance to our lives, brings out what lies beneath the layers and who loves and desires us.

Dirty Charmer is an opposites attract romance with 2 really great characters. Tommy is a rough around the edges bodyguard and Abby is a well bred lady doctor. Seriously, they have nothing in common! But, they both need each other in different ways.
Tommy is a relentless flirt and Abby is very unaccustomed to that. It's sweet how easily Tommy talks about his feelings for Abby (even when most of the feels are dirty ones). Everything with him is 'right there'. He doesn't filter himself. He doesn't hide who or what he is or where he came from. It was really great to see a hero who isn't closed off and secretive.
Abby is a planner. She is a high achiever. Her family is titled, and that comes with a lot of expectations. Abby has always felt she wasn't as successful as her family wanted her to be or expected from her. She pushes herself to be better than perfect and yet, they never seem proud of her. This has made Abby very self conscious and closed off. Tommy is never put off by this though, and just keeps continuing to make dirty suggestions!
There was a bit of a communication struggle at times. This annoyed me. I wanted Abby to just tell Tommy. They had been together for months and she had shared secrets with him, but one event happens and she is shutting him out. I wanted to SHAKE HER!
Dirty Charmer will delight fans of the opposites attract trope and those who like lots of sexy times. Tommy will having you swooning hard and you will love every dirty minute of this Dirty Charmer!

So far this is my least favorite book by Emma Chase. It probably wasn't that bad but something about the MCs didn't sit well with me. I didn't like Tommy much and Abby was okay but her character development was nonexistent. In the beginning I thought she was a shy girl that always followed the rules but that changed completely after her agreement with Tommy without an explanation.
The steamy scenes were too many for my liking so, of course, I skipped some of them and tbh the whole plot felt kind of... old. I've read so many stories with a similar pattern and I'm getting kind of tired.
Most of the books I've read by this author are 3-star reads for me so given that I didn't like this one much I have to rate it lower so 2 ⭐

Realmente hacia un tiempo que no leia un libro de Emma Chase y lo disfrutaba tanto, y eso que me pense mucho el darle una oportunidad a esta novela, por suerte lo hice o me hubiese perdido una muy buena experiencia.
Dirty Charmer fue una lectura mucho mas intensa y especial de lo que imagine, sinceramente pense que seria una historia mas ligera y olvidable, de esas para leer entre lecturas mas serias, pero para nada fue asi, me sorprendio al ser mas transcendental de lo que parecia con la sinopsis, no solo trata varios temas serios sino que ademas la escritora lo hace con un estilo muy cuidado y maduro.
La pareja principal me enamoro desde su primera escena, tienen una quimica fuera de serie y sus conversaciones y riñas me resultaron tan ingeniosas y reales, son de esos personajes que te hacen creer su historia de amor.
Otro punto muy positivo fue la aparicion de algunos de los personajes de la saga anterior de la autora, le dio un toque muy bonito y especial, y aunque no me hubiese molestado de haber sido mas largo, reconozco que tal vez de haber sido asi, no me hubiese parecido tan fresco y distinto.
Finalizando, si los siguientes tomos de esta nueva serie siguen la linea de esta primera parte, preveo que se convertira en una de mis nuevas obsesiones, este debut fue simplemente fantastico.
Me encantaron Tommy y Abby. ❤

Tommy era un affascinante sexy guardia del corpo, un vero rubacuori, dal sorriso irriverente e arrogante.
Svolgeva bene il suo lavoro nel quale era molto bravo, metodico preciso e professionale. Nulla traspariva dai suoi occhi gelidi quando era in modalità bodyguard:
«Questo fa parte del lavoro: non far trapelare le emozioni, niente di ciò che pensi o provi, o che hai intenzione di fare».
Era un uomo del tutto autonomo, a cui piaceva avere i propri spazi, al contrario dei suoi fratelli che non avevano lasciato il nido se non prima di sposarsi.
In un modo del tutto originale e bizzarro aveva conosciuto Abby, un’aspirante chirurgo, ambiziosa e saccente, che amava moltissimo la professione medica e che dedicava tutto il suo tempo ad esercitarsi e allo studio.
Qualcuno le aveva fatto notare di essere fin troppo tesa per questa ragione, perché non era in grado di godersi la vita, né di rilassarsi.
Così ad Abby venne in mente un modo intrigante e, per come ragionava lei, fuori dal comune, per riuscire ad allentare la tensione.
Avrebbe chiesto a Tommy di essere il suo personale “antistress”. Tra di loro c’era un’evidente attrazione, difficile da contenere, fin dal loro primo incontro avvenuto in un letto d’ospedale, per cui avrebbe potuto funzionare.
L’ego smisurato e prorompente del bodyguard era arrivato ai massimi livelli non appena aveva ricevuto la singolare proposta.
«Ma ci sarebbero delle regole in questo accordo» le aveva detto Abby, usando il suo solito tono formale di ragazza per bene e raffinata.
Le regole includevano una certa flessibilità sugli incontri, nessuna implicazione sentimentale e nessun coinvolgimento.
Niente di più facile.
Entrambi non erano in cerca di una relazione stabile e reale, dunque divertirsi insieme avrebbe fatto bene a tutti e due.
Che fosse davvero per allentare lo stress o meno, Abby desiderava Tommy e voleva che accettasse la sua proposta.
E Tommy non si era fatto pregare:
«Questa donna piena di talento, intelligente e meravigliosa vuole proprio me, punto».
🖋️L’autrice ha delineato un protagonista maschile molto sexy e irriverente, difficile da domare, con tante caratteristiche che lo rendono accattivante.
Abby invece è una donna riservata e un pó chiusa, che si è presa il suo tempo prima di ammettere a sé stessa, a Tommy e alla contessa madre, di essere innamorata di lui. Ha dovuto prima capire quali fossero i suoi reali sentimenti, non abituata ad esternare le proprie emozioni.
Ma lui l’ha fatta sentire amata e desiderata.
Una coppia del tutto improbabile.
Troppo diversi e agli opposti le loro famiglie.
«Era solo un accordo, così avevamo stabilito».
Non sarebbe mai dovuta diventare una cosa seria, eppure le cose sono andate diversamente.
