Sue discovers a dilapidated two-story farmhouse on prime property near East Glacier Park Village in Montana on the Blackfeet Nation Reservation. The house and surrounding forest lands have been on the market for years because they're allegedly haunted. The tribal leaders of Blackfeet Nation are anxious to sell, and Sue sees a great opportunity for a vacation home near Glacier National Park. But once she convinces Ellen and Tanya to go in with her on the project, the friends find themselves trapped on the one-hundred acres of forest land with a malevolent spirit that doesn't want to be saved.

The Ghost of Blackfeet Nation By Eva Pohler This is book six in the series. Lots of spooky happenings in here. The three gals also go on a spirit quest. They dig into the history of how Native Americans children were forced from families to live in schools to indoctrinate them to white man's ways, and make them forget their Native way of life. Enjoyed this a lot! Great narration.
This is my favorite book so far. Being from a partial Indian heritage and all ... It made my heart glad that they were able to find his grandson. It also broke my heart that they took the children away from their parents. And the best part of all was that they all found peace
I have enjoyed this series. I find that I identify with every one of the three friends in one shape or another. One thing I really enjoy is reading about the history of the location the three friends are investigating. I'm not a fan of the use of a Ouija Board as a form of communication. In this story, my heart broke and my anger was extreme at the treatment of Native Americans by the White government.
If you have read any of the Mystery House Series books you will truly enjoy this one as well. The way Eva Pohler tells the story of The Blackfeet Nation is beautiful. Another great ghost adventure that brings the ladies on a great adventure up to Montana where they're meet with members of the Blackfeet to learn about a house that is haunted. The reason for this haunting is sad. The family lose their only child to the US Government for retaining to forget their Native ways of life. While living at the missionary their son falls in love with one of the younger nuns. Her father wasn't happy with what happen to his daughter. There was also an issue that happen that was going to cause the tribe to lose a mountain area that was theirs to oil drilling. I don't want to give away what happens but Tanya, Sue, and Ellen never seem to amaze me with how hard they work to fix what was wronged. I can't reccomend this book enough. Get your copy today and enjoy another amazing adventure with the beautiful ladies from San Antonio.
Ok, so let me 1st say that I LOVE these ladies and all the fun paranormal stuff they do! However, if you've been reading them since the beginning as well, I think you'll notice this book is a LOT different that any before...and I'm still not sure how I truly feel about that. I enjoy reading the restorations just as much as I enjoy the paranormal. In all other books this went hand in, this book only talked about healing processes and crossing over once things were right. I think the book was well thought out, lots of research went in and even more lovable characters came out of it...I just felt it really missed what all the had. The renovation of the place and restoring the spirits of place itself. The ladies only went out to the house a couple of times and in any other, the house would be a major destination. I still loved the book though and would recommend in to anyone...but I recommend starting on book one to get everything out of each book.
To start, let me say that this book is a little slower paced than what I normally read, so it took me a little bit to get in to it. I also haven’t read the other books in the series. Thankfully, this book can be read as a stand-alone. While the characters carry over and there is mention of things from the previous books, you won’t be lost without reading them first.
The storyline is interesting, and I enjoyed the historical part of the book, reading about other cultures and traditions. I can only imagine the research that went into writing it. While it does have a paranormal aspect to it, it’s not the main focus of the story.
It will be interesting to read the books I’ve missed and get the beginning of the story of the main characters.
I liked this book a lot mostly because it was about Native American Indians. Sue found a old building for sale in Montana on the Blackfeet Nation Reservation. She invited her friends to come with her to look at it and possibly buy it & renovate it. While there they learned a lot about the people ways. They ending up going to Indian ceremonies of sorts. Sweat baths , how to find out if they had a spirit guide and other stories how the people were treating on the reservation. Enjoyed how the author told all these things. I have read other related stories and she did a good job of telling it all.
This was a bit scarier than the others in the series that I've read. I also read this out of order and I don't recommend doing that. You will miss things in the character development and some of their stories that bring them to what they are doing.
Each books has been interesting. I like that Eva finds areas of injustice and focuses on those to bring them to our attention and give us the history and the current status of these things. I don't want to delve into specifics as it is to easy to give away part of the storyline.
I'll be going back to read the 2 books int he series that I missed.
Sue is interested in a farmhouse in Montana, that is on the Blackfeet Nation Reservation. The home is haunted and they have been unable to sell it because of this. Sue convinces Ellen and Tanya to go with her and she arranges a guide to show them around. While there the meet tribe members who tell them about the property. During the investigation they encounter the entity in house who traps them. They begin their investigation into the original owners of the house and hope to unravel what happened to them that made them so angry. Great book. Couldn't put it down
Loved the native American culture combined with the haunting. I truly enjoyed the storyline and the great characters. So glad Ellen and Brian got together and had a wonderful happy ending. So many happy endings! I absolutely love this ghostly series. It has a lot of historical content in each book along with the hauntings to make a truly wonderful mystery!
It was heartbreaking learning about the injustices done to the Black feet native American children and their families. This Ghost Healing was not as complex as the prior books. But it was a satisfying read and it brought some closure to a few personal loose ends of the three main characters.
This book was full of surprises. The story was enlightening, speaking about the injustices we don't normally hear about. I enjoyed following the characters on their journeys throughout all the books. I'm happy for Ellen!
Dr Ponder tells a wonderful story but also tells how how person can realize their life can renew again. A persons life can go on after their first love passes. Life goes on witut guilt when you hear your first love tells you to OVE
Another entertaining book in the series. I listened to the audio. I love the narrator. It was nice to catch up with the 3 ladies and their ghost investigations. I'm looking forward to the next book.
Pretty intriguing book, lots of good Blackfeet info, until about 3/4 of the way through, then the writing was obviously hurriedly tying up loose ends to the finish….it’s almost like someone else was writing the ending…won’t say how or what the ending was, find out for yourself
I really hope that the history of the Indians depict their true history. The tribal comments are fascinating. I so enjoyed learning about it. The story was just amazing!
In yet another wonderfully enjoyable blend of fact and fiction, Eva Pohler offers her readers one more chance to tag along with Ellen, Sue, and Tanya on an intriguing paranormal adventure. This time they are off to Montana to look at a haunted property as a potential vacation home. Each of our ladies is coping with some type of recent loss but they soon set aside their personal issues when confronted with the need to locate the bodies of Rabbit (an indigenous American who was taken from his parents and forced to attend a school which labored to strip him of his native culture) and a young nun who taught at that school. All the stories in this series offer fascinating glimpses into history and really portray the human side of events that are often “sanitized” by public school systems. Compelling historical events, captivating characters, a bit of adventure, a hint of clean romance, and fun forays into the paranormal have made this one of my favorite series. I chose to read along as I listened to the audiobook version of this tale. I must comment on how the narrator, Debbie Andreen, provides the perfect listening experience for her audience. As with the previous stories in this series, she deftly endows each character with a unique sound through changes in pitch, cadence or accent to help the listener keep everyone straight. Her delivery of the narrative is spot on in terms of pace, emotion, and atmosphere. She is a delight to listen to and I appreciate her contribution to this wonderful book. I highly recommend this book and this entire series.
While I did purchase a copy of this book, the author did provide me with a copy of the audiobook but I am voluntarily offering my honest and unbiased review.
With each book in this series, I learn something new. I try to explain to others that so many fiction writers put a helluva lot of research into their books and if you read them you will learn far more from them than you will non-fiction/topic specific books. Most people don't listen. They should. While The Ghost of the Blackfeet Nation didn't have as much historical background as the other books in the series, the knowledge of the customs and beliefs of the Blackfeet come through beautifully, as does their love of this earth. I loved the book.
UPDATED - I'm picking back up with this series again so I re-read this one to move on from here. I loved it as much the second through.
The Ghost of Blackfeet Nation by Eva Pohler is about three friends Ellen, Sue, and Tanya trying to help the angry ghost in Sue’s new vacation home. I love the relationship between Ellen, Sue, and Tanya. They remind me of the golden girls. My favorite character is Sue because I think she’s funny. Overall, this book is fantastic.
