His touch awakened my body. His bite awakened my power…
I felt broken-hearted the day mother put me - her own daughter - up for sale in the Market of Mysteries. Then I felt fear when the powerful lion shifter Rajah purchased me for his harem. And when he took me to his bed chambers, I felt passion and pride, for being chosen as his mate.
But when he claimed me with his bite, I felt something else. Something I never felt before. Power…
It’s a power that terrifies me, a power that shouldn’t exist. I thought I was just a normal human girl. But now I know I’m something that is so much more… a pride-witch and an avatar of a goddess. Now I have the power to control the pride and shape the destiny of this kingdom. But that same power makes me a weapon to those who seek to hurt my mate. They think they can take me and use me for their own twisted ends.
But they’re wrong.
Because now I understand how to manipulate my enemies. I will use my power, my body, my sensuality, to distract them, while Rajah prowls the jungle searching for me.
And when my Rajah roars in fury, our enemies will know true fear…

Sexy sifter story This book is the first in the On the Prowl trilogy. Rest of the series will be published this year, so you don't have to wait long to read on. I'm very excited to read the rest of the series and see where the story goes. I hope for a happy ending.
The book sucked me right in from the beginning. The storyline was great and different from other RH books I have read. There was a minor cliffhanger at the end. It made me want to read the next book right now. We have to wait for a few more weeks for the next one. This book had many great twists and revealed secrets in it.
First of all, this book was, mostly, set in the jungles' of India. So, not in the modern world, most of us are used to. Loved the Indian influence on this story; the dresses, the Indian lore, etc.
There were other women in the harem but they weren't with the male lead character. I loved the FF action between all of the women. I'm interested to learn more about the women in the next book.
Not all of the males are in the first book and I can't wait to learn whom they are going to be. This is promised to be Reverse Harem, so hopefully more of that in the next books.
Saw little character development in this book but I'm excited to see where these characters are going to end up. Found them very lovable.
In this scorching hot, dark first installment in the On the Prowl series, Night chronicles the journey of lovely Aria who becomes the prime target of dark forces after her long-dormant powers awaken.
Struggling to pay her family’s debts, the beautiful Aria Joshi agrees to her mother’s suggestion of selling herself in the Market of Mysteries. But the enigmatic Rajah Aaron Narsimha, her buyer, stirs more than desire and passion in her: the long-dormant powers of Aria awaken after he takes her to his bed. With the kingdom’s destiny in Aria’s hands, she becomes the key target for the evil lurking in shadows.
Night handles the usual genre tropes of reverse harem romance: blood, violence, trafficking, polygamy among others with deft skill and style. The setting of India’s jungles and reference to Ramayana add to the intrigue of the story.
An engrossing narrative, sizzling sex scenes, and a well-imagined world make this an entertaining read.
Quick read this one. As is the case with these kinds of books, the story moves swiftly and there's not enough time to really develop depth but this book did an okay job of it. Aria wasn't what I expected, from being auctioned off to becoming the mate of a lion shifter and head of a pride was a lot of change that she rolled with pretty easily. For a virgin, she has lots of new intimate experiences, with women and the Rajah too. I felt that there were places in the book that could have used more description, information, revelation, emotion, etc. but that's what happens at times with the short ones. Though it was interesting and different, I wasn't pulled in enough to the story to want to read the next one.
There is a great story line here and I really like how it goes outside the norm RH with the pride. Looking forward to the next book release so I can see how this story pans out.
Although this author hasn't written RH before, you can't tell it. Hot fast action. The characters are vivid. I would like a little more building of the relationships. I eagerly look forward to the next book.
i enjoyed the story but dnf i felt like the names being the same names threw me off. while they may be common names there it reminds me too much of disney movies.
