A one night stand with a male stripper? You’ve never done anything like this—and for good reason. Your father is a well known mega church pastor and your one night of passion could hurt his image. There’s just one problem. The sensual, hungry man you can’t stop thinking about refuses to leave you alone. He’s already addicted and wants more. And he’s going to get it. But just how far is he willing to go to make you his wife?
New York Times Bestselling author Tessa Bailey can solve all problems except for her own, so she focuses those efforts on stubborn, fictional blue collar men and loyal, lovable heroines. She lives on Long Island avoiding the sun and social interactions, then wonders why no one has called. Dubbed the “Michelangelo of dirty talk,” by Entertainment Weekly, Tessa writes with spice, spirit, swoon and a guaranteed happily ever after. More of a 2.5 star. Listened to this for free on the Read Me Romance podcast. It was insta love and the hero was OTT. But Tessa does write good smut so 🤷🏻♀️
Sigh. Will Tessa please stop with the weird 2nd person thing she's been doing lately? It was just like in Double Booked. It just gives me cheap erotica vibes that really take away from the connection of the characters. They're already short, and a 2nd person narrator doesn't help.
I would give it more stars, but I can't stand the second person point of view. Maybe if I would have read it, it wouldn't be so noticeable, but in the audio version I couldn't hear anything but YOU, YOU and YOU.
Title: Stripped Bare Author: Tess Bailey Format: Audio Narrator: Karen White Genre: romance, one night stand, opposites Standalone: yes Part of a Series: yes POV: you (Penelope) Steam Level: toasty 4/5
This is the second time I’ve heard a Tessa Bailey book written in the second person POV. Although this time the main characters have names. It’s a fun way to listen and brings you closer to the story. This story is about a preacher’s daughter and Sunday school teacher and a stripper. Their connection is instant and forbidden. I loved the twist at the end. Stripped Bare is a unique and fun story.
I listened to this audiobook on the Read Me Romance Podcast. I haven't listened to the podcast in a while so I was super excited but this book just let me down. I know that it's hard to write a fully fleshed out story within the constrictions/ word limits of a novella but it's been done before (or at least close) and I wasn't expecting intricate details about the characters' backstory but it seemed a bit too rushed for me. I know Tessa Bailey is an amazing writer, but this one just wasn't for me.
Listened to this Quickie on Read Me Romance. Thought it was ok. A bit meh. Lots of sex, not that that’s a bad thing but wanted more story. That’s what you get in this quick novellas. Was an interesting concept of Sunday school teacher and stripper though. And kinda weird how it all panned out. But, 🤷🏻♀️

Listened to this for free on Read me Romance podcast. The Hero was super Alpha and there were lots of steamy scenes. The only thing I didn’t like was that he started working for the church. Noooo nooo lol
A diiiirty, filthy bit of aural smuttasticness. If heroes on the extreme side of alpha, and not just having a toe - but both damn feet - over the line of possessive obsessiveness are your catnip, this one is for you.
So I don’t really like that these are in 2nd person, BUT that bar scene was 5 star on point exactly what I need in books and bought the rating of this right up for me because after that I was so happy I couldn’t not enjoy it.
Pretty good, though I didn’t really enjoy the narrator. I almost wish it was a full length move to get more background. Well done for a RMR podcast novella.
I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy!
