Wow! Award winning author, Carol Wyer does it again! I absolutely adored Life Swap and was so excited to read this book. And this book - amazing! Loved and lived every page of it! Was rooting for Charlie all the way. Loved Mercedes too. The characters are all so real and full of life. This book is funny and wise. The writing is wonderful and witty and heartfelt. I did not want this book to end, and savoured every word. Cannot wait to read more by this amazing author.

This is a brilliant, laugh out loud novel that is definitely well worth taking a chance on! Following the tragic death of her daughter five years ago grief drove Charilie and her husband apart and, after ten years of marriage, they divorced. Being single again doesn’t come easy for Charlie but one evening she and her best friend Mercedes create Carpe Diem lists of what they’d really like to do, sort of a bucket list but just for the year. Mercedes then takes both lists and challenges Charlie to do every activity on the list that Mercedes wrote - most of which take hospital radio presenter well out of her comfort zone!

Get ready for hilarious moments as Charlie tries out many different things she’d never previously dreamed of doing! I’m giggling just thinking about the food challenge, her belly dancing lessons and the misunderstandings between her and Jake! Their initial meetings include when she’s crawling around on the floor pretending to be a pig . . . go on, you’ll have to read it to learn why! His support is key to helping her achieve so many of the challenges which actually make Charlie face and strive to overcome some of her biggest fears. It is an inspirational story running through the whole gamut of emotions and explores them showing how a positive attitude, resilience and perseverance can help achieve so much.

The story has some fantastic, highly memorable characters, one of the best being Bert (who isn’t human!). It also explores some difficult scenarios but I really don’t want to say more as that would be giving spoilers away and that’s something I try to avoid. However, suffice it to say that this isn’t a straightforward romance. It is an engaging and very entertaining read with some surprising twists, mystery, suspense and danger as well as more than one romantic relationship being developed, all sprinkled with a healthy dose of fun and laughter in a brilliant heart warming tale that I have no hesitation in highly recommending - it really is “a laugh out loud feel good romantic comedy.”

I was gifted a copy of this book by the publishers, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

What a lovely read Take a Chance on Me was! I was really in the mood for an easy and light read and this was just the right book for that. I felt like I was reading a story about people that I would actually want to be a part of my life and the ending of this book was rather bittersweet for me only because I didn’t want it to end.

Charlie is the main character and I just adore her. She has made a good life for herself after the devastating loss of her teenage daughter and then shortly after her divorce from her husband. The problem? She’s not fulfilled whatsoever and she longs for a contented and happy life. On New Year’s Eve her and her best friend, Mercedes decide to make a Carpe Diem list, much like a bucket list. In their inebriated state, they choose silly and outrageous things. Mercedes decides to change things up a bit and the two switch lists, which made for some silly fun.

All of the characters in this book are lovable and sweet in their own way. From Mercedes and her husband, to Charlie’s coworkers at both the hospital and the cafe, to her sweet elderly neighbor with a quirky and funny pet bird, Bert, I truly loved them all. Everything about this book is warm and heartfelt and there is a great message at play. It’s about living life to the fullest and taking risks even if you’re scared or fear looking foolish.

If Charlie were real I would head over to the UK and make her be my friend, hell I would make the entire cast become my friend because every single one of them was utterly charming and loads of fun. My only slight complaint was things were very predictable as far as major plot points, but I was still surprised by Charlie’s adventures. I didn’t even really care all that much about the predictability because I was having so much fun reading this, I swear I laughed out loud numerous times.

My Review:

I enjoyed this fun and amusing tale of a divorced middle-aged woman hitting her stride and finding her confidence. During a drunken discourse on New Year's Eve, two friends craft their Carpe Diem list - which sounds considerably posher than a mere bucket list. Through a series of their listed challenges, the main character ironically faces many of her worst fears, loses weight, and finds love. She also turns her adventures into a fundraising effort for charity. But things are not always what they seem and her biggest fan isn't who or what she expected. The story was easy to follow, sweet, eventful, educational, relevant, and amusing. I love learning Brit slang to add to my list, which now includes jammy cow, mardy, and poxy.

Deeply moving, charming, and sweet.

This is a bittersweet story that, ultimately, reminds us life is for living and that deep down inside all of us is a little bit of adventure just waiting to get out.

It has a wonderful cast of characters that are colourful, quirky, loveable, and kind. And the plot is captivating, humorous, romantic and engaging, as it weaves you through not only adventures of the heart, but adventures of the spirit.

The writing is extremely well done, and you will laugh, and possibly cry, as this story of loss, love, determination, courage, and friendship unfolds.

This truly is a lovely novel that was a pleasure to read. I especially loved the 'Carpe Diem' list Carol offers up at the end. There's definitely a thing or two I'd now like to try.

Thank you to NetGalley, especially Bookouture, for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

** I received an advanced readers copy from Bookouture via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank You!**

The Woman Who Lost Her Mojo was one of those unsuspecting novels that starts out slow and quiet and then gained momentum, capturing you before it ends. I'll admit that I wasn't sure what to think at first. It was a little slow for my liking and not as humorous as I was expecting. As I continued to read it definitely improved and I found myself smiling a lot. Perhaps it was the authors intention to make it more interesting, funny and engaging as Charlie began to improve her quality of life. Maybe they were meant to go hand in hand. Whatever the intention, it worked!

On News Years Eve with way too many adult beverages, Charlie and her best friend Mercedes created bucket lists but decided that they would do each others lists instead of their own. Of course, Charlie had no recollection of this the next day but a home video proved that they agreed to do it. The wonderful (or not so wonderful if you were Charlie) thing about this was that Charlie had no idea what challenges were in store for her or what she would get to do next.

This was a story about personal growth. It was about overcoming losses and finding that place in the world meant only for you. There was also a bit of a lesson to be learnt within the pages. The fact that you are never too old to do and be the things in life that you want. It is never too late to start over and find your happiness.

I adored the characters in this book. They were unique, quirky and sometimes over the top. From Charlie's belly dancing friends and her furry friend Bert, I adored them all. More than anything though, I loved the unconditional love and friendship between Charlie and Mercedes.

In the end I really enjoyed this book. It made me smile on more than one occasion. I would recommend this book to women that may be struggling to start over or women that are looking for a nice feel good story. It might just give you the inspiration you are looking for.

Books with bucket lists are nothing new but here best friends Charlie and Mercedes decide to swap their lists they made on New year's eve.

I really liked the different approach to this topic and I also enjoyed the different challenges Charlie had take. They were really funny at times and also quite a few different challenges.

I really liked the humour in this book, especially in the first half. Later the book little bit lots itself in other topics and I felt a little bit bored as well.

Overall this was an enjoyable story with several laughs and a light writing style.

My Review

Charlie's life has been a bit crap, her daughter died, her relationship with her husband has crumbled and her life is in a bit of a rut. Her best friend Mercedes comes up with a great idea, creating a bucket list Charlie needs to do, it will kick up her routine, force her into new and exciting situations and take her mind off life current predicaments. During all this Charlie meets two very different men, Rob who likes a drink, is quite a flirt and certainly offers a bit of excitement and then there is Jake, a journalist who is beautiful, funny and has a knack of just turning up at the most inopportune moments. Whilst Charlie is moving on and finding a new lease for life, one aspect of her old life won't go away and some people just can't let go!

So for me this story came at the right time, I had just finished reading a really dark tale so needed something that was a bit heartwarming. Charlie is such a nice person, she helps out at the radio at the hospital, does good deeds with little expectation in return and generally sweet. Mercedes list brings challenges and helps build some confidence for Charlie whilst opening doors to some new folk in her life. We see her grow as a character, learn to appreciate her abilities and expand her social circle. The book takes a bit of a dark turn that almost seems like a different story, Charlie has someone in her past who can't let go and doesn't want to see her move on. The tale gets dark and almost becomes a thriller in respects to one angle before resuming the feel good focus. I think for some readers they may dislike that whilst others will love it, I didn't mind it really and liked it overall. This is my first time reading this author, I would certainly read her again, 4/5 for me this time.

Only Carol could write a rom-com and let her darkness seep in through the pages! This story has a heartbreaking opening where we meet Charlie and her plight in life. She has split from husband Gavin, albeit amicable after what they have been through but Charlie, she is in a rut.

Disastrous dates have left her alone and most days she is fine but she has lost her sparkle. After being slightly sozzled on New Year’s Eve at her best friends Mercedes house, they write a list, a bucket list of sorts and a clever idea, they swap lists. Charlie, so drunk and hungover does not remember it but she gets her groove on with doing these challenges. One that I would love to do is the shark tank, but enough said on the matter.

For me, this book has it all. A woman who has lost her way, she needs her sparkle and we see her on an adventure of Challenge Charlie where she is trying to raise funds for the Hospital Radio that will not be able to carry on if they don’t raise the money pronto.

I loved getting to know Charlie and I loved her journey. She did so many things I would love to do!! Zorbing, zip-wiring to name a few. She is someone I could so easily relate to, she has such a fantastic set of friends who are there for her and build her, she just needs to see what they see. I think that we all fall foul of this, no one is willing to admit what people see them is a fact.

HOWEVER! Yes, I had to shout then! Despite all this wonderful frivolity and fun, and you can’t read this review without me mentioned the wonderful Bert! He is a parrot and just the best. Despite this, Carol and her darkness are seeping in, you can see the dark smoke tendrils moving into Charlie’s life, trying to grab her and well things could very nearly go a different way! Nail-biting times to be had and I was not expecting that in the book. Don’t get me wrong this does not last long, but throughout the book, there are hints to what could be happening. I think this added to a layer to the book which you don’t normally get in romantic comedy books!

I haven’t met a main character of Carol’s that I did not like yet and Charlie will have a special place for me. Charlie could be me! She could be any one of us. Life is ridiculously too short and I think I need to start making my bucket list a reality!

Take A Chance on Me is most definitely perfectly titled. It is a book that will take a hold of you from the start, it is engrossing, light, funny and quite poignant. Charlie needs to take a chance on herself, she needs to trust the people around her and realise that she deserves a chance, she deserves love and she deserves her sparkle.

Charlie is heartbroken. She lost her daughter and her marriage didn't survive this terrible tragedy. She's going through the motions, but isn't exactly living any longer. Charlie's best friend Mercedes has an idea and together they make Carpe Diem lists, mini bucket lists with daring things to do in the near future. Soon the idea is turning into an actual event and Charlie is trying to raise money for her beloved hospital radio station. She has to do things out of her comfort zone, will she be brave enough to do everything that's being asked of her?

Charlie could use some love and attention. She has good friends, but she's lonely. When she meets Jake there are sparks. However, there's something about him she doesn't completely trust. Is he really a gentle journalist looking for a positive story or does his character also have a darker side? Will Charlie have a second chance at love and maybe find some happiness in her life again after everything she's been through?

Take a Chance on Me is a wonderful story about challenges, love, friendship and finding a way to live again after being broken. Carol Wyer writes about Charlie's obstacles in a beautiful emphatic way. Charlie is a kind woman with a big heart. She has a lot to offer and after losing everything she held dear she doesn't feel like she'll ever have fun anymore. It was fabulous to see how Mercedes makes her friend smile again and how she makes sure Charlie finds some joy in life after so many years of grief. Take a Chance on Me has a perfect amount of depth and there's also a nice feelgood factor, a hopeful lightness that gives the story a lovely sparkle.

Carol Wyer's writing is easy to read. I flew through the pages and read Take a Chance on Me in one sitting. It's a story that's difficult to put down. Besides Charlie's challenges there's a gripping aspect as well that makes the story even more fascinating. I was intrigued and couldn't wait to find out more. I loved how Carol Wyer uses a little bit of suspense to give her story an extra layer. Take a Chance on Me is a charming heartwarming book filled with entertainment and intrigues. I really loved this terrific novel.

On a New Year's Eve Charlie and Mercedes make a list of things they want to accomplish, but to make it even more interesting they exchange the lists. Charlie's life has been difficult, after the death of her daughter and splitting from her husband, she needs new and good vibes in her life. She works at a cafe, but also has a big role at the hospital radio, which is important for the patients, that's how she actually met her best friend Mercedes. Charlie starts doing all the challenges and as she is rather hesitant and lacking in confidence, in time she gets more confident and learns to love life again. Will all the changes help her find a new love as well?

It was a good book, which was not just fun to read, but also showed how even simple/small things can bring a big change. It's comfortable to do the same things and fall into the same routine, but if you want your life to change and if you want to be happier, there must be something changed. It also showed how important is good friendship and how full of life can be people, who have a physical disability-it does not stop you from living the life you want to live. It's an inspiring and motivating book.

An Ok read. I liked the idea behind it and the MC a lot, but I felt the whole stalker and the misunderstandings-with-the-love-interest plot devices were flat and not needed at all. The book should have stuck to the MC doing her challenges and her relationships. It should've been a straight forward romance and not try to throw in any mystery or suspense because it did not work here.

Author of one of my favourite books, Carol Wyer, is back with yet another memorable story. However, it is memorable for a completely different reason than ‘Life Swap’ is. Before I read ‘Take A Chance On Me’, I was told that it would be nothing like ‘Life Swap in terms of the emotion and the hidden message. I did think to myself ‘nahhhh, it IS a Carol Wyer book afterall’. Oh how naïve I was!

Meet Charlie, a broken-hearted woman who tries to find her calling in life…again. With the help of her best friend, Mercedes, Charlie attempts things that are completely out of her comfort zone, thanks to the pact that she made with Mercedes. Despite all of the thrills and excitement the pact gives Charlie, a piece of her jigsaw is still missing. Will Charlie find the missing puzzle piece and be able to fix what she can control? Or will Charlie’s loss be too much to handle and the puzzle will forever be incomplete?

I can’t even begin this review properly with a joke, I may finish it with one, but it wouldn’t be right to begin with. I mean, how could I be anything but serious when the first few pages of the book gave me goosebumps and made me gasp? As I mentioned previously, I got told that this book would have a completely different edge to it than ‘Life Swap’, I didn’t quite believe just how much of an edge that it would have. I will now hold my hands up and say that the person who told me about the edge, was absolutely correct. After all, the author knows better about what they have written, right? -whistles-

When it comes to light in the book that Charlie and Mercedes have made a pact, also known as a good old bucket list, I couldn’t wait to see what challenges Charlie was going to face. There is powerful message behind the bucket list, but it isn’t what you would usually think. I’m not one for writing spoilers in my reviews and as this review is no different regarding that, I urge you to read the book and find out for yourself.

The complexity of each character and their personalities is outstanding. Every character has been beautifully written into the story, along with their own troubles and heartbreak, making ‘Take A Chance On Me’ extremely memorable for more than one reason. Memorable AND relatable.

Whilst Charlie and Mercedes’ bucket list has its own hidden message, ‘Take A Chance On Me’ has more than one powerful message hidden within. The word powerful is an understatement if I’m honest, the whole storyline had such a hold on me. It felt as though the story had put bricks in my feet to keep me from moving and then crawled into my soul and set up camp for the duration of the book. There was something about Carol’s writing that moved me, I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what it was.

Many times as I was reading, I had to sit back and soak up what I had just read. The storyline felt real, incredibly real, and it is completely clear that Carol has written ‘Take a Chance On Me’ straight from her heart. To write such moving situations must have taken a lot of strength; as all of those intense situations moved me to tears (more than once). How does one person deal with so much heartbreak in such a short space of time, yet still be able to pay it forward for those around her? Charlie is such a beautiful character for sure, but Carol Wyer is such a beautifully, talented author for creating such, wow, intense moments. Plus, Carol has added her trademark humour all throughout the novel, creating a pillow for the emotional moments. A bit like chocolate for a women’s monthly moment, or bubbles for a bath, or a kazoo for….anytime. You know, comforting things. Where is my kazoo Carol, did you pinch it?!

I will never be able to find the words to fully describe how ‘Take a Chance On Me’ has left its mark on me. There aren’t enough words to explain how many tears I shed at the end of this book. If I could have given Carol a hug whilst reading her incredible book, I would have. I needed to. I needed to be there for her characters through her. I’m tearing up now writing this as Carol’s words hit home, I related a lot to the personal limitations of a couple of her characters. I was not expected to feel as though I was reading about my life, not a characters.

‘Take a Chance On Me’ is a story about love, loss and finding the strength to move forward. A story about just going for it and trying to accept life’s limitations in the moment, no matter how hard it is. A story about letting go (and no, not Disney’s Frozen) and believing that YOU are worthy and that you are NOT defined by your heartache. ‘Take A Chance On Me’ oozes emotion from start to finish and I cannot recommend this book enough. Yes, I cried. Yes, I laughed. Yes, I cried some more. But I will tell you this, Carol Wyer is a literary genius with a heart of gold, ‘Take A Chance On Me’ is now in my Top 5 favourite books, ever.

No, don’t ‘Take A Chance On Me’, take a chance on Carol Wyer and her beautifully written, powerful and intense book that will have you reaching for the tissues multiple times. Magically moving, with added hilarity, this book is incredible.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in return for my honest thoughts.

Fun with surprises along the way, is probably the best way to describe The Woman Who Lost Her Mojo. Really early into reading this book I realised that I was laughing, smiling and generally all around loving this story, and that if I had to review at that point, it would have been described as a fun book. Of course I then read the rest of it, and my opinion didn't change, it has fun at its heart, but it's also inspirational and there are a couple of surprising turns that the story takes.

Two friends on News Years Eve drunkenly agree to a challenge - the have both written Carpe Diem lists (similar to bucket lists) but its been decided they will work through each others lists. Charlie can't remember what she put on hers, and Mercedes who is in charge is also in a wheelchair, so is using Charlie to live through vicariously for some of these challenges.

For Charlie its a chance for her to face some of her biggest fears, and for her to get some of her old joie de vivre back, and being the kind hearted soul that she is, she also managed to turn it into a fund raiser for the hospital radio station she works on, by setting up Challenge Charlie!

The challenges Charlie faces are quite varied, are thankfully feel quite different to other books featuring bucket lists. However she also has challenges in her personal life, her daughter would have been 18 this year, and her romantic life is non existent at the start, but does develop in some interesting ways.

One my my highlights of the book were any time Charlie went over to her next door neighbour Peggy and Bert. Bert is easily one of the most entertaining and charismatic characters, he is a fantastic mimic, hates angry men, and is fabulous at sports, oh and he isn't human either! I challenge you to read scenes featuring Bert and not fail to either laugh or if a bit more cynical, at the very least roll your eyes at what he gets up to!

Charlie's best friend Mercedes is an inspiration, she has been through a tough time over the past few years, but she is still smiling and has a real zest for life. They are fantastic friends, and with quite contrasting personalities, that mesh well together, and she puts her all into doing the things on Charlie's original list, even if they are a bit tamer than she would have liked.

The other venue I really need to praise is the Art Cafe, where Charlie bakes cakes and is a waitress for her day job. There are some detailed descriptions about what the Art Cafe is, what the various rooms are and it's a place that I would love to visit in real life, it sounded like a great business idea - or at least a couple of existing businesses melded together into this Art Cafe!

I could probably continue to go on and on about various aspects of this wonderful book, but I would much rather urge you to take the time to read it for yourself and make up your own minds. I really did enjoy every last second of The Woman Who Lost Her Mojo, and I am so excited to have discovered just how talented author Carol Wyer is for romantic comedies. She is definitely one to keep an eye on in the future.

Thank you so much to Bookouture and Netgalley for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.

Do you know what. I always have a sense of dread when the bio says you will like this book if you like certain authors then you will like this book.

I mean I know why they do it. I'm not stupid it's because it works. People think ohh I like that author and that author and they get sucked into buying the book.

Now don't get me wrong we have all been there. Myself included but I've been burnt many times in the past with this type of comment and I have been sorely let down by them too. So now I read it but I do t take it in and instead I judge if I want to read a book based on the rest of the bio. It usually works for me.

Now this book I noticed has been linked to authors such as Carole Matthews and Debbie Johnson. Both authors that I have read many books by and Carole Matthews is in my list of favourites authors. Ones that I constantly check to see if they have any new books out. Also I have read many books by Debbie Johnson and I have a love hate relationship with her books. So seeing this book linked to them had me in two minds about this book.

But as I always do I set the linked authors aside and concentrated on the fact that I very much liked the sound of the bio.

Poor Charlie is feeling sorry for herself her husband after ten years of marriage has decided he no longer wants to be married to her and so disappears from the scene.

Feeling hurt, let down and upset Charlie is in a bad place and doesn't know how to pick herself up again and sort out all the mess.

Luckily for Charlie she has a very lovely best friend Mercedes. A friend we all should have.

Mercedes doesn't let Charlie suffer alone. Determined to put a spring back into Charlie's step. Mercedes comprises the perfect bucket list to mend a broken heart.

Making Charlie step out her comfort zone. Mercedes has Charlie bungee jumping, and belly dancing her way to happiness.

On her escaped of the bucket list. Charlie meets journalist Jake who also helps put a spring back in her step. As the things on Charlie's bucket list get big and more daring Charlie is left wondering if Jake is too good to be true. Or can there be another happily ever after in store for Charlie?

This is a perfect read for fans of Carole Matthews. There I said it myself. This books linked with another author is correct the publisher has it right.

I loved this book. It's about challenging yourself, finding peace, mending a broken heart, friendship, finding yourself and learning to love again. A funny and sweet read. I loved it.

Thank you to NetGalley, Carol Wyer and publisher Bookoutre for the opportunity to read this booom in exchange for an honest review.

Happy reading everyone

***TITLED 'TAKE A CHANCE ON ME' on Netgalley.com

Life changed for Charlie Blundell five years ago when her beautiful, teenage daughter, Amy, passed away. Tired of trying, her marriage ended soon after, and Charlie forced herself to get on with things. Now approaching her fortieth birthday, Charlie throws herself into her part-time jobs baking cakes for the The Art Cafe, and her radio slot at City Hospital Radio, and she finds that keeping busy helps to keep the sadness at bay. And with amazing friends in Mercedes, Ryan, Peggy, and the rest of the gang, she doesn't always feel lonely. But underneath it all, she knows that she is not really living, just merely existing. But it looks like her steady routine is about to change as there is talk of the radio station shutting down, and when someone starts taking an unusual interest in her, life is about to get complicated. Add in a drunken New Year's Eve idea that brings untold excitement and adventure into Charlie's life and who knows where it all will end! Will Charlie be up for the challenge? Will she be willing to take a chance on a whole new life?

Well I've been threatening to read another chick-lit book all year and here it is!
I took a chance (see what I did there? Did ya?!) on Carol Wyer's Take a Chance on Me and I am so glad that I did!
We meet Charlie, almost forty, divorced and with a daughter who died, she is in a bit of a bad place. Cue the girly night in on New Years Eve, the wine starts flowing and before their hangovers have a chance to kick in, they have both written a bucket list and, not only made a pact to complete everything on them, they have swapped lists!!! Not much of a problem right? Wrong, because you see, Mercedes is in a wheelchair, so part of the pact was that Charlie would complete all of the things that Mercedes can't! First up . . . Belly dancing! What an absolute riot!
I love Charlie. Like really love her. She is brilliant. At a time in her life when she should be really starting to enjoy herself, she's not. She's just plodding along and to make things worse, her ex has moved on. Devastating. But she has her amazing best friend Mercedes on hand to love her, and boy does she!
Charlie's daughter died several years before and the grief she stills hold on to is so evident on the pages, having lost a child myself I felt it. It was real. I sobbed, and sobbed, then sobbed some more.
This is a book about so much more than a middle-aged woman jumping out of planes and zorbing (did you make that up Carol?) it is about learning to love yourself, it's about getting back on track after heartbreak and it's about friendship. Real, true friendship. It's about drawing down on everything you have and finding that inner-strength to go on and live, not just exist.
Each and every character could be your next door neighbour. They are real. They are true. They are loveable. Take a Chance on Me is the most uplifting book I have ever read and it will stay with me forever.
And ever.
I'd like to thank Carol and the Bookouture team for sending me a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was a lovely read even though it started a little on the slow side. Charlie's past has unfortunately shaped her future and she is struggling to lift herself out of her funk. Luckily for her she has a friend named Mercedes who is larger than life. Mercedes convinces Charlie one drunken night out to complete each others Bucket List. It took me a while to really warm to Charlie but as she takes on Mercedes list you can't help but feel like spurring her on.

Mercedes and Charlie make a great twosome as friends and this makes for easy reading. The reasons spurring Charlie on at first seem obvious but as she takes steps to complete each challenge something new comes along and changes her outlook. Even when she feels like giving up you just know that somehow she will manage to pull it off. One of the nicest things about this book is the colourful array of brilliant characters that join Charlie on her journey. From Peggy the next door neighbour with her pet parrot Bert, to the class of Belly Dancing friends she meets. There are also her colleagues at the City Hospital where she presents a radio show.

In addition to Charlie completing the list she has to deal with a slightly strange ex-boyfriend as well as a pesky journalist who seems to pop up at every corner. Life is certainly interesting and fun ans you can't help but to be swept along with the excitement of it all while reading. The latter part of the book gets a little more exciting and by the time I had reached the end I was disappointed to have finished it. This is a real feel-good and heartwarming book that I thoroughly enjoyed and I look forward to Carol's next book!

The Woman Who Lost Her Mojo is a beautifully written and heart-warming book.

It follows the story of Charlie, who feels stuck in a rut after the breakdown of her marriage following the death of her daughter. After a drunken New Years Eve party, her friend, Mercedes decides to write a bucket list of things for Charlie to complete that will get her mojo back.

What follows is a romantic, feel-good story that will have you rooting for Charlie and falling in love with the characters.

A wonderful read. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the chance to review.

This is such a feel good, funny read starring a parrot called Bert who is a real character! There are real laugh out loud moments- but also some heartbreaking memories. Two friends work through each others ‘bucket lists’ as a challenge. The challenges are so varied and fun to read. The characters are well drawn and engaging and you really feel part of the story. It’s a book about looking to the future whilst embracing your past and giving friendships and love a chance to blossom. I really loved the writing style and I’m keen to read more by Carol Wyer.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this which I voluntarily reviewed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It made a complete change from my usual reading material of blood and guts.
The characters were all people you'd like to have as friends. The dialogue made you feel as if you were in the room chatting with them.

I laughed, and cried a little as I read this book. Ms Wyer certainly knows how to tug at your heart-strings.
An entertaining story that leaves you fully satisfied.
I'll definitely be reading more of Ms Wyer's books.

I enjoyed this tale of Charlie, who's been stuck in a rut and her best friend Mercedes. True, it was a little predictable in places but the bucket list idea was great fun and created some funny scenes.
Made a refreshing change from my usual thrillers... an easy read.

A nice little undemanding book - light relief after a couple of murder mysteries so served its purpose but not a book to stretch you in any way. For some reason the author found it necessary to insert long pieces of 'information' which had no effect on the story whatsoever - whether she hoped this would add gravitas I am not sure but it didn't - very light and frothy!

The Woman Who Lost Her Mojo is an incredible story of friendship, love, loss, healing and bravery. Charlie is an amazing character who I found truly relatable and inspiring. Her friends formed a perfect support network, which is vital to helaing and recovery. Wonderfully written and so moving.

While waiting for Carols next mystery series book I decided to try another of her titles because I like her style. I was not disappointed and it kept me reading just like the series. Want an enjoyable read then you will love this one. Love the writer, the characters in the story are also enjoyable. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end.

Beautiful story

Charlie is such a beautiful character and I absolutely loved going on this journey with her. Emotionally uplifting and at times sad. It will make you laugh out loud and also make you want to do a bucket list too. The friends she has made and her wonderful neighbour along with the antics of Bert and her challenges she has to complete make for a wonderful read.

Inspirational

While the story was often light hearted and funny, it was also inspirational and motivates the reader to take every opportunity to live life to the full and not let circumstances and life tragedies define you. Thanks Carol for a hugely enjoyable read.

Heart warming story

A good story with believable characters based around an exchanged bucket list called Carle Diem. The intrigue and sense of jeopardy were a little obvious but an enjoyable read.
