This is a new series, to my knowledge, the fourth series that the author has written under the name Katharina Peters. In this one, it is kind of a shared novel with the Hannah Jacob series, as Hannah plays a big role in this story. The new detective, Sara, is smart but unsure about her career due to some recent events. She gets mixed up in a complicated story involving her family and right wing extremists in Germany.
It is a good read, well written like everything I've read by KP, but it is pretty complicated to follow, with a huge cast of characters. If you don't read it exclusively (and I didn't; I was reading something else at the same time, like usual), it can be hard to remember all the characters. A lot of time is spent defining these new characters. And the denouement of the novel is a big unsatisfactory.
It is promising, and for sure I'll buy the next one in the series when it comes out, but this one wasn't quite up to KP's usual standards. Still, go ahead and read it.
