As the battle against the invading aliens reaches its endgame, a group of bad boy bikers and mercenaries will stand and fight for humanity’s survival…

Tane Rahia is good at one thing—fighting. Before the alien invasion, he fought as a mercenary in the worst jungle hellholes. Now, he’s the leader of Squad Three—aka the berserkers—and he’s fighting to protect his brothers, his friends, and the last of humanity’s survivors. It doesn’t matter if he dies, he knows he belongs in the shadows, doing the dirty work and taking dangerous risks so others don’t have to. There is no warm woman, no love, and no redemption for him, and especially no small, sweet alien woman who he struggles to ignore.

Abducted from her homeworld by the Gizzida, Selena endured captivity and torture. Then she found herself on a distant planet called Earth and rescued by tough, heroic humans. She’s recovered, made a new family for herself, and come into a power that she never knew she possessed. She’s determined to experience everything life on vibrant Earth has to offer and to protect her new home. And she discovers that one battle-hardened, intense man is the only one who ignites a passionate desire that leaves her breathless.

The humans have fought hard, but now the Gizzida have created three deadly, humanity-ending bombs. Tane’s not happy that Selena’s help is vital in the fight against the aliens, and nor is he ready to face her stubborn confidence nor the white-hot desire flaring between them. But as they enter their final make or break fight, Tane and Selena know they need to fight as one. They may not survive the final battle, but they have to try: for their friends, for the planet, for humanity.

It was a given that Selena wiould defeat the bad guys!
She and Tane were also the perfect combination to do it together!
A lovely, even if a little bit simplicistic conclusion of the series!

P.S. I would not miss the motto of the Hell Squad! LMAO

Having followed Anna Hackett's Hell Squad series since the first few books came out, I'm actually quite a little misty-eyed at the swan song of this entire work.

There's so much here that encapsulates the entire series, though 'Tane' is one of its crowning glories as Hackett catapults the last book into a rather epic finish. At 140 pages long, there's a full repertoire of action and erotica, made believable because of a world-building that culminates (somewhat expectedly) in a final battle between humans and alien invaders amidst a long-developing burn between 2 people that has stretched out a long time. To have it all come to fruition is satisfying in every way, more so as Hackett deliberately tweaks up the tension right up until the last possible moment when you think it can't go any further.

My only complaint is that the romance development felt a little formulaic at times, but this was me expecting Tane and Selena's relationship to go somewhat differently. I felt Selena's growth as an alien to an assimilated character in the Enclave made her too much alike Hackett's heroines where I was itching for her to stand out at least in outlook and speech - apart from her powers and her affinity with creatures on God's good ol' green earth. That she was also constantly saving the day with her mysterious powers also lent the story one too many Deus ex-machina moments, or rather, providing easy and miraculous saves out of what would have been fatal incidents.

A less picky reader certainly wouldn't have such qualms about swatting aside this nitpicking, obviously. 20 novellas on, I think Hackett has at least earned some bragging rights at least to enshrine Hell Squad as one of the all-time great post-apocalyptic series to remember and even re-read.  And the ending? It's a thoroughly happy one too, for everyone concerned.

Bittersweet 5 stars ⭐️!

I’m crying...so emotional that this series has come to an end.

I’ve loved, laughed, cheered and fanned through the series and this book was no different.
Tane is just WOW 🤩. Selena was such a cutie and badass. I loved her and adored their pairing. Tane had his sight fixed on their resident alien for a looong time and finally they (and I) got their book.

I loved the plot and perfect ending of the Gizzida. Their fight and race against time to save the whole humanity made me edgy. I loved the epilogue but I still want more!!!!
All the important characters made an appearance in this book.
But please please can we have one more novella about aftermath. And of course Gazda.

Hot, safe and recommended.

This was such a fitting and fabulous conclusion to this exciting and fun series. Tane has long been a firm fan favourite so to finally see him get his own story is something I can only thank the author for. Matching Tane up with Selena the female abducted from her home planet was a perfect way to allow the survivors to finally stand up to the Gizzida . The aliens who have invaded Earth are about to release bombs that will change humanity forever. As usual there's action, humour and romance but there's also a chance to catch up with previous characters who have captured readers imagination. No matter what is happening in the world this series has reminded me that where there's life there's always hope and I heartily recommend this thrilling conclusion.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Oh mercy I have to warn you to have the tissues at hand. This story was heart wrenching at times. Selena has such amazing powers. I love how she goes after Tane and doesn't let him get away. :) Made for some hot spots. The ending was epic! Not saying anything more as I wouldn't want to ruin it for anyone. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author and freely leave this honest review.

Originally published at Reading Reality

Not quite five years ago, I picked up a book from Netgalley titled Marcus, the very first book in the Hell Squad series. At the time, I said that the setup read like a cross between the original movie Independence Day – the sequel was not yet out and the Battlestar Galactica remake series, which had ended but sequels were still being played with/discussed/speculated about. With just a touch of Station Eleven, which had come out the year before.

That was a lot of weight for a novella to carry, but it did so with aplomb.

Five years and 19 books later, Tane is the final book in the series. Tane’s story combines the “bad boy romances girl he thinks deserves better” love story of many of the previous books in the series with the final push to kick the invading Gizzida off Earth just in the nick of time.

I want to say that that nick of time is just before the aliens detonate the three bombs that will cover the planet with a blanket of their DNA and convert all of the remaining survivors, both human and animal, into more of their scaly, invading selves. But it’s kind of a Superman ending. The one from the first movie with Christopher Reeve. Sorta/kinda. I’ll leave that hint hanging, for you to discover what really happens.

Just don’t start here. While there are patterns to many of the romances, the overall story arc of the survivors banding together, fighting the good fight, falling in love and figuring out how to take back the planet takes some development and backstory. You don’t have to read the entire series to sit back and enjoy the ending, but you do have to have read some of it. At least the first book, and a few others along the way, plus the final two, Survivors and Tane, to have it all make sense and tie itself up in a nice, neat, happy ending bow.

Escape Rating A-: I’ve been begging for this ending for about ten books now. Not that I didn’t enjoy the journey, because I certainly did, but waiting for the Gizzida to finally get the big shoe dropped on them felt like an endless cliffhanger.

At the same time, I had a bit of an approach/avoidance thing going on with Tane. I wanted the story to end – and I didn’t want to see it end – both at the same time.

Tane’s romance with Selena had been building over several books, just simmering in the background. Like many of the heroes in this series, Tane was a badass before the aliens arrived, and he’s an even bigger badass now. He’s done some terrible things in the name of survival, and he feels like those acts have tainted him beyond redemption – not unlike many of the heroes in this series.

Selena is an alien who was rescued from the Gizzida. She’s not from this planet, and she has some kickass powers of her own. But Tane has her on a very high pedestal and has a difficult time letting her down off that pedestal to admit that it’s her decision whether to love him or not.

This entry in the series operates under a very strict time clock. There’s a rather limited amount of time to figure out how to destroy the bombs without letting them explode, and desperate times, as they say, call for desperate measures.

Selena’s solution, in the end, is pretty damn desperate, but it works and we get the HEA we’ve all been waiting for. It’s been a wild ride.

As SFR, the ending is very satisfying. We want the villains to get their just desserts, and for the good folks to get their HEA. I’ll confess that near the end there was a point where it looked like the ending was going to be more bittersweet than it turned out to be. As SF, without the R, that bittersweet ending was a bit more satisfying. It felt more real.

Of course, we don’t read romance, particularly SFR for the real. We want that HEA. And this time we got it with a bang! (Probably lots of banging, most of it offscreen after the books end, with lots of babies after.)

A good reading time has definitely been had by all, 20 books of it. If you haven’t gone to Hell with the Hell Squad to deliver the ass kicking the Gizzida devils truly needed, you’re in for a real treat.

A BEAUTIFUL ENDING TO THE SERIES. I HAVEN'T READ ALL THE BOOKS, BUT THEN EACH OF THEM COULD BE ENJOYED AS A STANDALONE. THIS ONE WAS BEAUTIFUL AND SWEET.

TANE is the last Rahia brother whose going to fall in love with his very own sweetheart. Now I didn't read the previous books but, this one can definitely be read on its own. I'm a huge sucker for romances where the hero doesn't just fall for the heroine YET or he denies himself but still gets jealous. This is the latter. Tane's attracted to Selena but yes, he constantly fights it and even acts gruff and cold around her. But, when circumstances happen that rouses the green eyed monster and his protective instincts override common sense, Tane starts to accept that he's wrapped around the beautiful female's finger. Tane's a strong, resilient and manly man character that most readers won't hesitate to fall for. He's definitely alpha, warrior material and gets a stamp of approval from me. :)

SELENA is a gem! Despite being alien, she's still beautiful and hey, gotta love the hair!! Selena's powers are connected to nature and they are super duper awesome! It's like watching western anime or something. Selena's attracted to Tane and she never hides her feelings, being rejected by Tane when she openly confronts him about it. Selena's the nurturing and compassionate kind, you can't help but want to protect her as much as she wants to protect the home and people she now cares for. She's strong. I love that about her. Even if she's afraid, for the sake of others, she's willing to brave her fears and even at the cost of her own life. Golly! How can Tane NOT love her? Everybody in the freaking story loves her.

OVERALL this was sweet and cute, with the right amount of intensity and passion. Good quickie read when you're busy and looking for a sci-fi romance that hits the spot.

Out of this world I would give it a 10

It took a berserker and an alien to save us from the monsters who had invaded our world. This series is the one you tell all your friends about. Awesome author.

What a sweet, yet basic way to end this series. I can’t believe it’s done. 🥹

It was pretty clear Selena was going to make a difference in defeating the Gizzida.
I loved Tane and Selena together. I thought Selena’s power were absolute badass.

We got a lot of closure and an overall idea of how the future would be and it’s a bit sentimental for me.
I read “Marcus” so many years ago and 20 books later and here I am.
This is not the most complicated series, but the fact that the story moves through each new couple over the span of the alien invasion was something that I always treasured.

Read: 25.05.2025
1st rating: 4 stars
Genre/tropes: Sci-fi/ action/ romance
Cover: 2 stars
POV’s: Mainly Dual (but added POV’s)
Will I recommend: Yes, but start at the beginning.

Hell Yeah!! The final book in a great series. Tane is one of the Beserkers. A mercenary before the alien invasion, he doesn't think he's worthy of love. Selena is an alien kidnapped and tortured by their mutual enemy the Gizzida until she was rescued by one of the squads. She's powerfully attracted to Tane but he rebuffs her at every turn. Selena develops powers that the Survivors need to defeat the Gizzida and much to Tane's dismay she puts herself in danger to save humanity. unable to fight his attraction, Tane vows to keep her and succumbs to their mutual desire. Together they will sacrifice everything to finally defeat the Gizzida an maybe find love along the way.

Series: Hell Squad #20
Rating: 5 stars - I loved it!

After years of waiting we finally have Tane and Selena’s story!!! This was a fantastic and emotional end to an amazing series.
description

Tane has been fighting his feelings for Selena since they rescued her. After 19 books we finally got to see his POV and it was intense. Tane is a protective alpha male who is determined to protect his family and the survivors, even if it means he dies. He no longer feels he is worthy of love after being a mercenary for so many years. We see him do some pretty reckless things in the beginning of the book trying to protect others because he feels he wouldn’t be missed. Selena confronts Tane and breaks down his barriers. She makes him see that he is a true hero and is a good person. I just love the emotional scenes between these two. They have both been through so much.

“None of us are perfect, Tane. We’re good and bad, an accumulation of right choices and wrong ones, but I’ve watched you for almost a year. You are a good man, even if you don’t believe it. And I want you. Just as you are.”

Selena is no longer the shy alien who was first rescued. She has grown and become stronger. She has found a new home and friends and is determined to fight back. I loved Selena. She has changed so much and is perfect for Tane. Her abilities are amazing and watching her fight against the Gizzida was badass. She really can do a lot of damage with her abilities and I loved it. She is determined to be helpful and protect her new home, even when she is terrified of being captured again.

“I’m not broken. Maybe I was when you first found me, but you, all of you, put me back together. You gave me a home, and I want to fight for it too.”

This book was nonstop action from the very beginning. The survivors have finally found all three bombs and are racing the clock to destroy them before the aliens destroy humanity. The battle between aliens and humans was intense and deadly. We came close to losing so many people and yet the survivors prevailed. I cried. I have been reading this series for years and having it finally end was so emotional and heartbreaking (in a good way).
description

“She knew he’d make her happy—and sad, angry, content, thrilled, desired—because that was the glorious chaos of life.”

I loved the conclusion and seeing all the happy couples. The new life that the humans are making and the love that they are showing. I am so sad that this series has ended but it was a powerful ending to an amazing series. I cannot wait to revisit this series in the future when I am missing the squad and relive it all over again

TANE,#20, is the final book in Anna Hackett’s Dystopian Hell Squad series.

MY RATING GUIDE: 4.5 Stars. I found TANE a very satisfying conclusion to this drawn out series. Good job! Anna.
1= dnf/What was that?; 2= Nope, not for me; 3= This was okay/cute; 3.5= I enjoyed it; 4= I liked it a lot; 5= I Loved it, it was great! (I seldom give 5 Stars).

Enclave Survivor Base, 2+years after the Alien Invasion of Earth ~
TANE concludes with earth’s survivors, including the Enclave base near Sydney, Australia, desperately communicating across several global locations. They know that the aliens final plan to destroy mankind draws incredibly near.

Tane and his 2 brothers (featured in prior books) are native New Zealanders. Before the invasion Tane was employed as a mercenary in violent pockets of the world. Tane felt his willingness to get dirty meant innocent families and children could live their lives without fear. But it was a hard life and Tane saw terrible things. Tane immediately joined the fighting squads that defended the civilians following the invasion. As the leader of the wild and crazy Beserker squad, Tane is aware a global clock is ticking down.

Selena is a survivor who the aliens took from her own world, brought to earth, tortured then was ultimately rescued by Hell Squad in SHAW #7. Selena joined the Enclave shellshocked but her strength has recently blossomed. As the world winds down to the final weeks, can the leaders, scientists, anybody come up with a plan that will eradicate the aliens and save mankind?

Comments ~
1) The last group of titles (bks13-20) feature the Beserker team members (one of 3 fighting squads featured in Hell Squad). The language in these books tends to be rougher than earlier books due to the character’s backgrounds.
2) The writing in the latter books in the Hell Squad series remind me of serials in a mini-series or individual episodes in a television series - which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But readers should be advised that the series’ story arc builds in tension with each book which won’t be completed until the last book in the series. Each book adds to the overall storyline and either new characters or people previously introduced are featured, each with their own complete HEA. I am finding the series an enjoyable journey.
3) TANE is a dystopian-fantasy novel. Readers who are willing to let go of reality, logical thinking, scientific facts and just settle in for the ride will find the most enjoyment in this series.
4) The Hell Squad books are very fast reading (TANE was about a 3.5hr audio at my listening speed), great for a few hours of escape or for decompressing after work.
5) Although TANE might be read as a standalone title, I really don’t recommend it at this point. TANE is the last book in a 20 bk series with an ongoing story arc. A lot of continuity and character development will be missed starting with TANE. I prefer reading Anna Hackett’s series starting with book one and continuing through the series in order.
6) I find the performance by Kafer and Cook very well done. Throughout this series they have been challenged with various accents (Australian, Russian, Italian and English), as well as steamy intimacy scenes, which must have been “fun” for them. ;) I purchased nearly the entire audio series when they went on Sale. The others I purchased in E format.
7) After finishing SURVIVORS, I wondered if Anna could pull together all the loose ends of the series and accomplish a satisfying conclusion in just 1 final book - TANE. Even after beginning TANE, I wondered. But Anna did it - I was drawn in and my attention captivated until the very end. I was very satisfied! Good job!

READER CAUTION ~ Not recommended to YA readers or those who prefer Clean fiction.
PROFANITY - Yes. Strong language is used frequently.
VIOLENCE - PG. Aliens vs humans.
SEXUAL SITUATIONS - Yes. Detailed steamy scenes between the MCs occurs several times.

Omg 💖omg 💖Tane and Selena 5 glorious🌟's

This is the 20th book and the final nstallment of the amazing "Hell Squad" series. I have read and reviewed each and every one of these books over the last few years, waiting on the edge of my seat for the next to come out and now that this is the final I feel so many emotions. I'm so sad that this amazing thrill ride is over all of these characters have become friends that I looked forward to seeing every few months when a new book would come out. I've been angry at the Gizzida and cheered each time their evil plans were brought down in flames. I've laughed, loved, discovered passion and made so many friends over the course of this series that it's really hard to see it come too an end. But like all great and wonderful things nothing can continue on forever, and it there has to be an end this was an awesome way to conclude one of the best action, sci-fi romance that I have ever read.
Selena was stolen by the Gizzida a long wild one ago and tortured and experimented on we first see her in Shaw and Claudia's story. She and the fiery hell squad soldier are held together and form a bond of friendship. Selena has unique powers that our planet over time has just enhanced and she has become a part of this planet and considers the humans in her life her new family. She will not let the Gizzida win and hurt her new family the most important being Tane the leader of the berserkers . He The biggest badass of them all and we've been seeing the attraction between these two blossom for awhile. In this book their attraction explodes and turns into a love and passion that surpasses anything either of them has ever know. I don't want to give anything away but this book does not disappoint. The action is fierce and intense. Their are moments of noooooooo, and your heart will beat straight out of your chest and you'll cry thinking is this how it truly!y and to be only for the action to continue and steel your breath a away. And the passion between Tane and Selena is an inferno that blazes brightly never to go out but to strengthen and grow with ever passing chapter of this book. The best in the series and a well deserved ending for the weary hero's and heroines of a post apocalyptic Earth. I'll definitely be revisiting my friends from time to time and looking forward to Anna Hackett 's next thrilling action adventure romance ride 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

5+++++STARS POWERFUL TANE LOVES THE TINY ALIEN
Tane Rahia is a fighter, that’s all he knows and has ever done. He is fortunate that his brothers, Hemi and Manu, are with him. The boys lost all their other family members in the invasion. They are part of the powerful, crazy Berserkers Team fighting the alien Gizzzida. This team never backs down. They go into a fight laughing and taunting, blowing up and shooting up, riding big motorcycles. They are badarses to the max.
Selena is from the planet Florum, a long way from Earth. A few years ago, she was captured, tortured, beaten, and caged by the Gizzida. Now, Selena finds she’s being held on Earth, the next planet the Gizzida plans to take over. The squads go in to rescue one of theirs and save Selena simultaneously. Everyone is hesitant to have an alien at the Enclave, but Selena is proving to be an asset in many ways. Selena is the sweetest, kindest lady with unimaginable powers over the earth, animals, trees, and plants. She also has a massive crush on Tane. He feels the same but tries to ignore it, feeling he’s not good enough for her.
This is the conclusion to the Hell Squad Series. This is where both sides bring out the” big guns”, but it looks like humans are lacking in numbers, and time is running out…except who knew the tiny, delicate, tree-hugger alien would pack the biggest punch. Great ending to a fabulous series! This is a reread of the entire series, and I loved it both times. After being with these wonderful characters book after book, I feel like I’m leaving friends. I highly recommend the Hell Squad series. Linda

MAN, endings are tough. Wonderful and perfect and bittersweet all at once. On one hand, the payoff to seeing the couples you've spent 20 books with take their future into their own hands and do the thing they need to do is awesome. But...endings, man. Endings. I have a hard time letting go.

The final book for our heroes is definitely bittersweet. After everything the survivors of the Gizzida invasion have been through, they all deserve their happily ever afters. They've fought and bled and lost people. They've also found love and friendship and protected those who need protecting. The final holdout on the finding love front for Squad Three is Tane. And he certainly tries to fight his feelings. Hard.

But hearts are funny things and Tane's junk punches him a couple times until he finally realizes that no matter how much or how little time they have left, Selena is the one for him. She might have been shell-shocked and frightened when they first rescued her, but she's come a long way and she's ready for a relationship with the big berserker.

Does it take time to convince him? Yep. But Selena's ready and willing and she's not about to let her new friends and potential partner fall to the aliens invading.

Like I said, endings are bittersweet, but they're also wonderful and I've had a blast with the survivors and all their trials and tribulations as they work on freeing Earth while falling desperately in love. GOOD STUFF!

Selina is my hero and Tane is the best wing man ever.
Ms Hackett pulled it all together and ended it with a bang..(pardon the pun)
Action packed edge of your seat scary hot and oh so chapter 20!!!❤❤❤
Thanks to Sam and Jeffrey for their wonderful narration in this series and although each book was short it ploughed through excitement and love. Double whammies for the Sci fi drama junkies and the heart throbbing steamy love alphas and their women.
The clues and problems were linked together nicely with each book
But there was 2 books in the series that i didn't really take to. although action packed the plot just hovered a bit and the couples moved to the fore and the action took a back seat. But it didn't go backwards or make me lose interest.
I nearly didn't pick up survivors..book 19 but I knew there would be plot info in there. And it was. It linked the 3 bases together along with the problem affecting them all.
The end of this book was a couple revisit as well as new surprises it was a nice way to wind down the series. I'm kinda sad, I'll miss hell squad, squad 9 and the Berserkers.
Anna Hackett did a great job with geography and history. I'm an Australian and I knew areas she was referring to. She even pinpointed areas in my city that the aliens had destroyed.
Thankyou Anna for a great series.
I'm off to eon, I was half was through and went to hell squad but I love Vivienne Leheny as a narrator, her tones and accents are awesome...
Gotta get off this sci fi ride....not sure when though. 😁😁

HEART-MELTING - SUSPENSE - ACTION & BLAZING PASSIONATE ROMANCE

“Tane” is a roaring storm of emotions with excellent character interaction, comradeship, humor, gripping suspense, bone-tingling action, life-threatening moments, dreadful danger, blazing passionate romance and a superb conclusion to the HELL SQUAD SERIES. When I came to the end, I hungered for more.

Tane Rahia, the leader of Squad Three, fights to defend all he cherishes.  He thinks his horrific past as a mercenary leaves no room for the love of a pure woman. The Gizzida captured Selena, a silver haired alien beauty.  Now rescued, she is safe with the humans who fight to preserve humanity. Selena finds herself attracted to tough, standoffish Tane.  The black-hearted Gizzida plan to detonate three bombs to destroy all humanity.  Tane and Selena go on a perilous mission. Together they face hurdles before achieving their happy forever.

Spectacular, well-written, quick-paced read. Fantastic storyline with admirable characters and exceptional vivid scene descriptions. The chemistry between Tane and Selena is spot on and their devotion shines; perfect for each other. Selena is a fierce heroin and Tane is a protective alpha but sweet too. Relishing this entertaining read, I reviewed a pre-release copy via the author.

Tane has been a mercenary soldier for much of his adult life. Then the Gazzida arrived and he banded together with other like-minded people to become the Berserkers. He and his group fight the Gazzida aliens every chance they get, and kill many aliens along the way. He currently feels unworthy of love and acceptance from anyone—especially from Selena. She’s light to his dark places, and he doesn’t want to contaminate her inner beauty. They finally find a way to make it work, then discover that the alien bomb is set to detonate shortly. This is the story about what happens when it does. They pull out everything they’ve got to stop these aliens, and to preserve the human life left on earth—before its too late.

What a wonderful read!!

A thrilling nail-biting finale to a stupendous series. Oh Ms. Hackett you truly excelled yourself with this final book in the Hell Squad series. Tane and Selena were just ...lovely. Their love and sacrifice caused me to shed some tears. Throughout the story, one could not relax as the Gizzida were constantly up to no good so Squad Three were kept busy as were all the teams. Added to this was the concern over the bomb which would have catastrophic effects on mankind. All three bombs had been located in the previous book "Survivors" . However how to make the contents of the bomb ineffective was the main concern of the science team in the Enclave. Time is running out. Then you have the touching love story between a proud and damaged berserker, Tane and a shy, tiny yet powerful alien woman, Selena. You need to read this. Although these stories are standalone tales, the best reading and understanding of the characters and their apocalyptic world comes from reading these stories in order. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book and loved all the characters and their partners. I am sad to say farewell though I know each and every character deserves their peaceful new lives. Thank you so much, Anna.

Tane: Hell Squad was one well written story to end Hell Squad's journey. Tane Rahai was the leader of Squad 3 often referred to as The Berserkers. He was the strong silent type and often seemed like he carried the weight of the world or what was left of it. But there was one thing that could change all make life better and hopefully more enjoyable in these hard times , her name was Selena. Only thing was he thought he didn't deserve her not with his past.
Selena was new to a lot of things especially life and the way things were on earth but she was learning. She want to experience all she could even love and she knew who she wanted to learn how love work with.....she was afraid he didn't want or saw her that way.
It was one hell of a ride ,I smiled when awe.....and when a certain someone got hurt I was pissed sorry no spoilers . The ending OMG....I was like WHAT THE......NOOOO. I'm telling you, this is one epic read. I can't even tell you the ending......but there is one incredible ass kicking. This is one finale you don't want to miss. Got to warn you thought if this is your first time to read a Hell Squad book start at Book 1 it will be worth it.

Although he couldn't get her out of his mind, Tane was convinced he had no right to want Selena. It seems that berserkers believed themselves to be the worst of the worst. But the powerful alien had learned a lot, was stronger, and was no longer the fearful and weak creature they had rescued from the clutches of the Gizzida. Selena knew what she wanted and was determined to get it. The Gizzida was already ready for the destruction of humanity and the Earthlings were ready for the final battle. I really liked this version of Selena, how she was responding both to her feelings for Tane and to the weight of her responsibility for the threat. I felt my chest clench with the intense and exciting descriptions and narrations. There were moments of great emotion that watered my eyes, so caught I was in the plot. This last book was very cathartic for me after following the fight of these warriors to save the humanity. Exciting ending with lots of action, suspense, scary situations, monsters and more monsters, violence, romance, passion and a lovely HEA. Enjoyed it so much!

Anna has broken me and I knew it was coming I just didn’t want to face it. I first stumbled across Anna by reading Marcus the first book in the Hell Squad series. With each book released in the series I was on it so fast and devoured them just as fast until Tane. I’ve waited so long for Tane and Selena’s story but my joy was tinged with heartbreak, because by opening this book I was saying goodbye to a series that has held my heart for so long. I’ve had this book for several days, normally by now it’s read and an email is sent. I couldn’t, I didn’t want too as it would mean by reading that final page I knew there would be no more. This book does justice to the whole series, I cried, I laughed, I cheered and as I finished the final page I mourned all the while Hell Squad’s battle cry echoes through my brain... “Hell Squad, ready to go to hell?” Marcus called out. “Hell, yeah!” the team responded. “The devil needs an ass-kicking!” And with silent tears running down my cheeks I now say goodbye to Hell Squad.

Wow!

An emotional end to the series... which absolutely needs to be read in order because the overarching story behind the romances is a continuous saga.
Tane is the last of the Rahia brothers to remain single. Selena is an alien from another world. Together they need to fight the Gizzida aliens trying to take over Earth, and prevent their doomsday devices from changing everyone.
Selena has come a long way from the abused waif that the human survivors first rescued. She has grown stronger, more confident, and has come to love her adopted plant.
Tane is a man scarred inside and out. His past has left him with some issues, and he feels that he needs redemption.
Between them, they can build a relationship that is so much more than either dreamed of.

This book marks the end of the hell squad series, and what an ending it was! There are serious tear-jerking moments, but a good romance needs a happily-ever-after, and Anna delivers this in Berserker style. The entire series is wrapped up with a bow, and I know I enjoyed it immensely.

An unimaginably perfect ending to a fabulous series!

I have loved this series since I got Marcus for free. Hell Squad sucked me into the world of brave humans fighting for survival against a cruel enemy, the Gizzida, who sought to turn all humans into themselves. I continued to follow the series breathlessly, thrilled with every new chapter that brought a different couple, while continuing the larger story of humanity’s struggle to survive and fight back. This book, Tane of the Squad Three Berserkers, and Selena, am alien who had been a prisoner of the Gizzida, was more than I ever hoped for as the last book. Their love story is beautiful, and their bravery and determination in the face of sure defeat made me cry several times. They more than deserve their happy ending! I’ve been a Hacketeer for several years now, and Anna never disappoints. Make sure you start the series from the beginning! They’re technically stand-alone books, but you’ll miss out on the larger story if you don’t start at the beginning. I dare you to start the Hell Squad series and not be hooked!

Tane is the 20th and final book in the Hell Squad series. Tane is still fighting his attraction to Selena; firm in his belief that he is nothing more than a brutal mercenary he sees Selena as beyond his reach. Selena is a survivor; taken by the Gizzida from her home and rescued by Hell Squad, she has found her strength and has a new family in the squads at the Enclave. In her own way she is a warrior and will fight to protect those who have given her a new home on Earth. She doesn’t know what love is; her people do not experience strong emotions nor do they have strong family units. She’s seen how the humans express emotions, find love and form strong bonds and include those who have no one into their midst. The Gizzida have a final solution, three enormous bombs filled with their genetic material designed to attack humans and turn them into Gizzida and wipe the last of the human race from Earth.

The final battle against overwhelming odds, Selena makes the ultimate sacrifice for those who freed her from the Gizzida.
