Marlo’s Dance
Merculian. A planet of sensuous fun-loving hermaphrodites. A planet where major crime consists of the 3 Ds–drugs, drunk, and disorderly.
Marlo Dasha Bogardini, a senior investigator with the Cap City regulators, is shocked when he is called backstage on the final day of a high-profile dance competition. The mangled body of a young dancer has been wedged beneath the set. As he investigates, the trail leads directly to Merculian’s greatest dancer!
Soon Marlo’s life and the investigation spin out of control and an unrelenting campaign to discredit him costs him his job. He forges ahead anyway, only to discover that the murder may be connected to a sinister criminal consortium. With two unlikely allies by his side, he uncovers a tangled web of violent crime. Marlo puts it all together but before he can reveal the devastating truth, he's forced to fight for his life!

My novels include mysteries, erotica, gay lit, the occasional bit of dark fantasy, and science fiction. I received the Derrick Murdoch Award from the Crime Writers of Canada for my work in the mystery field, was short listed for the Lambda Literary Award, the Aurora, and the Stoker Award. I live in Toronto with my long suffering husband, ,and love dachshunds, books, opera and ballet, not necessarily in that order.
And yes, I love to read!

As a fan of science fiction novels, I was intrigued to read this story although I wasn't quite sure what to expect!
Merculian is a planet whose inhabitants are fun-loving hermaphrodites and the story follows Marlo Dasha Bogardini, a plump, constantly hungry Detective who is tasked to investigate the death of a young dancer. Marlo is a charming, witty, colourful unique character who investigation uncovers a tangled web of violent crime.
A story that combines police procedures with the hedonistic world of Merculian, this is a novel and a character that I will not forget! I will certainly be reading the other books in this series.

I've been reading and enjoying the Merculian series of wacky hermaphrodites, written by Caro Soles, so I was happy that another book is available. Marlo's Dance introduces a new character to the world and a fascinating one at that. He's a detective, like no other. Rumpled at the best of times, constantly ravenous and searching for snacks, and putting together the facts, both subtle and overt, in the investigation into the murder of a young dancer in a highly intuitive way, which makes him special in the PI world. But then, he's a Merculian, one of the artistic, dual-gendered beings on the planet Merculian, who are easy-going in general and all about pleasure. What an intriguing addition to the fictional worlds of both mysteries and science fiction. Can't wait for the next book!
