After years alone, a dragon shifter has found his one true mate — his gorgeous human nanny.
The Southern Nanny After my escape from an abusive ex, I lost everything. Resigned to sleeping on the streets, I was broken and alone. But a hot billionaire rescued me and saved me from that fate. He took me in and gave me shelter. Now I’m living with my powerful boss — as his nanny. During the day, I care for his son. But on warm Texas nights, I crave my boss’s touch. This sexy CEO ignites passion inside me, but I've vowed to never trust another man.
The Irish Dragon Over a decade ago, I abandoned my home. The Irish Cliffs still call to me, but I can never return to my rightful place in the world. As a dragon shifter forced to hide in Texas, I’m a single father, raising my son alone, with only the help of my shifter brothers. My hatchling needs a female’s influence. Then I find a gorgeous woman desperate for a job. My beautiful nanny is the mate I’ve always needed. But she’s human, and I could never share my secret with her. Even as my dragon insists she’s my mate, I keep the truth hidden from her. Now it’s too late to confess — an enemy from my past has returned. And my actions have put my nanny’s life in danger.
Can an Irish dragon shifter prevail against an ancient enemy to keep his nanny safe?

This story really had promise. Dragon shifters in Texas! A huge battle between witches and shifters in Ireland that orphaned the hero and forced him and his brothers to a whole new country! A five year old boy that’s strong enough to throw other kids off the jungle gym!
But it’s just not told well. Key word there? Told. The reader is told every single thing that is happening in this story. I’m fine with a bit of telling over showing because it moves things along. But there was this wonderful world being built here and we are told it’s hot in Texas. Duh. We’re told the cliffs in Ireland are high. Duh. Let me know about the steam rising from the asphalt outside of the restaurant or the feelings of dizziness when standing at the edge of the cliffs. It honestly feels like reading an outline. None of the good stuff hasn’t been written yet. We don’t witness the conversations that convince the hero and heroine to give into their attraction. They just go for it one night after she’s lived with him for three weeks...three weeks that are totally skipped over.
And the steamy scenes were subpar at best. I’m totally okay with a hero who respects that his woman has had trauma. But his reactions are just not remotely sexy. “That was delightful and even better than the first time.”...ummm...an ‘Alpha’ man using the word ‘delightful’ right after intimacy doesn’t work. That’s not to say that Alpha men don’t use the word delightful to describe sexual encounters, but this is a man who insists that taking her from behind keeps her too far away from him. A man like that doesn’t catch his breath and say ‘that was delightful’ as if he just had a sip of tea. Also, there is no use using dirty words if you’re just going to string them together without any additional info. Repeatedly referring to the male genitalia with a certain ‘c’ word without actually using it in a naughty way makes no sense. The same scenes could have easily been written with the clinical terms and studied in a high school biology class.
Honestly, at times it feels like this book was written by one of those robots that read a ton of things over and over again and this was the result. Robot repeatedly reads naughty shifter romance and writes this story...human attempts to help it flow more naturally...human fails. I realize that probably seems harsh and that this writer clearly deserves better simply for doing the work and writing and publishing this story. But please get an editor. A comprehensive editor who works on flow as well as copy editing. There are a bunch of mistakes in grammar and flow. I rarely notice grammatical errors so I’m certain there were a lot more than the ones I saw. The issues with the actual flow of the story are severe and any editor worth their salt would’ve helped correct that.
This story had potential. It truly did. The cover is outstanding. The blurb is eye catching. The idea is solid. But it just doesn’t work. I give it one star in complete honesty. I wouldn’t give it 0 if that were an option...it’s good enough for a 1. But that one star is for the idea. For the potential of the story. Clearly, the cover and the blurb caught my eye so it’s successful in the respect that it can gain a reader, but I won’t be reading any more of this author’s work for a while. Hopefully, she’ll continue writing and improving with time and experience.
Shifters, witches and a tantrums throwing kid oh my. This books has a little bit of everything in it. From romance to adventure, you won't be disappointed when picking this one up to read. Characters were believable and loved that Clara was so caring and understanding of all the nonsense going on. Kellan is a big softy man who any lady would love. Clara past is not as great as people want to believe. But when the moment strikes for her to get out of dodge. She does. Only that doesn't leave her with much to fall back on for support. Everything she knows and left is in Mississippi. Can Cedar Lake Texas offer her what she is looking for?
I have to admit it was nice reading a PNR story with a dragon that was not a novella. It is rare to find an author that will give you a full-length story and with a real story and not just full of sex. I am happy to find such an author.
I think this could have been a lot of fun, but everything happens so fast that there isn't a single bit of weight to it. We meet the abusive ex, for like a page, and that's done. He never shows back up in her life, and she has no trauma. I mean, NONE - she meets, fucks, and is engaged with the new dude in the span of literally one month (seriously, the book says "I know it has only been a month but...").
We meet the witches, and they are handled immediately. I'd be shocked if that whole thing took up more than 5% of this book.
They break up because she wants a little time/independence ... and that lasts literally less than a day.
He talks about winning back her heart, when he's known her for like 2 weeks, no one talked about love and how can you even think that, you've had sex once, buddy, with this chick you've known a week.
I don't know, it was just laughable. It was all laughable because it was so sped through that nothing meant anything.
Definitely not reading on.

This one was just ok for me. Standard shift fare, when they meet, the shifter knows and the human has to be slowed into the knowledge of shifters. While Clara found out about shifters in a shocking way, she went with it, she kinda had to due to the circumstances. Declan cracked me up with how exuberant he was and I loved how Clara altered their activities to take that into mind.
This is a well written book with strong, likable characters and an entertaining story line. The author brings a sweet , special bond between Clara and Kellan's son as well as a growing romance between Clara and Kellan, her boss. I loved the characters , especially little Declan and enjoyed reading their story. The author does a great job pulling you in with all the action and humor and had me hooked from start to finish. I loved and would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
IThis was a DNF for me. There's nothing overly wrong with it, some editing issues but nothing crazy. The cover is awesome and concept is interesting. You have to suspend some reality on the premise but that is pretty common in trope romance.
But it reads like it was written by a robot? I don't know, it's so clinical and so much is just told instead of shown. I can't for the life of me figure out what happened with her ex that he was so terrified of the hero... Why? And that who scene is just told in past tense, I guess maybe to just wrap up the ex storyline as easy as possible? Why even have it then? Normally I don't comment on telling instead of showing but that's what most of this book is.
Then this is a line in a sex scene:
“That was delightful. And even better than the first time.” “I agree,” she said...
Um. What? The sex dialogue is SO WEIRD honestly I wonder if the writer has had sex before. The first time she gives him head there's like an entire discussion about her "taking him in her mouth" which is the only way it's described over and over. They talk all through sex in the same way you'd talk over tea, and the dirty talk is things like:
“You want to come on my cock?” he asked. “Yes. Please. I want you to fuck me with your cock.”
“How do you feel about getting on your hands and knees? I’d like to see your lovely bottom while I’m inside you.”
It just got too stilted for me and I gave it a DNF. I started skimming and got confused, especially with the baby. I mean, apparently Declan was breathing fire a few weeks into life but his mom didn't leave until he was 6 months old so did she know? Maybe that's all explained and I missed it.
I might come back to it later and see how the author evolved in their writing since it's such a long series.
Wonderful characters and enjoyable storylines Great chemistry between the three main characters. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Which Irish Dragon is next? Can't wait to read more by this Author.
I really like the story lime if this book how they met. How themselves each other. How she helped protect Declan . I also thought this story could of been bigger and attached by tenfold.it's a very short story but worth the read.
This is my first time reading anything by Brittany White. I thought it was a good book, but I found some of Kellan and Clara’s interactions to be a bit stilted at times. I thought that it was a good introduction to the Irish Dragon Shifter Brothers Series. Kellan and his “brothers fled their homeland of Ireland 13 years ago, at only 17 years old. They’ve been hiding out/laying low in Cedar Lake, Texas ever since. Centuries ago in Ireland, Kellan’s ancestors made a pact with the witches that lived outside a nearby town. The witches and the dragons had a pact that they would protect each other from threats no matter what, even if the threats came from the humans that lived near by. When Kellan was 17 years old, the witches became enraged as they felt that the humans were encroaching on their land, so they began k*lling humans one by one. The dragons thought that humans were weak and beneath them but Kellan’s parents, the leaders of their clan were against what the witches were doing, so they rallied the dragons to try and stop them. A battle broke out, that the witches ended up winning and Kellan’s parents were m*rdered along with most of their clan and the others fled after the witches vowed to k*ll them as well. Kellan along with his brothers Liam, Quinn and Brennan all settled in Cedar Lake. I enjoyed meeting Liam whose a lawyer, Quinn whose a doctor and Brennan whose the sheriff, they’re all so supportive and protective of each other, especially with their love of Kellan’s five year old son Declan. They’d drop everything to protect each other, they’re family.
Clara, a kindergarten teacher escapes her ab*sive relationship and ends up in Cedar Lake where she finds Declan playing at the playground by himself. Not, long afterwards Declan’s father Kellan finds them, and he’s shocked that Declan is talking to a stranger, as he usually not good with them. Clara’s originally wary of Kellan but then they get talking and she realises that he’s an amazing father and a really nice guy that just wants to help. Kellan finds out that she used to be Kindergarten teacher and when Declan tells her that he used go to Kindergarten until he was kicked out because of his rough behaviour. Kellan asks Clara if she’d want to be Declan’s Nanny, instead of doing office work for him, she readily agrees because she loves kids and moves in to their house, in her own wing since they’ve got plenty of room and it saves her trying to find somewhere to live, as she pretty much only has the clothes on her back and not much else after her quick escape. Both of them felt an attraction for each other from their first meeting but, because Clara just got out of an ab*sive relationship, she’s pretty wary to jump into a new one, let alone with her boss. Kellan’s also keeping a massive secret from her, that not only are him, Declan and his brothers are all dragon shifters, and that Clara is his mate. How will Clara react when she finds out the truth? I’m looking forward to reading Quinn’s story next. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Dragons' home and family in Ireland destroyed by the witches.
Kellan's parents were the leaders of the clan of dragons at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. They were murdered by the witches who didn't like humans encroaching on their lands. The only ones left of that clan were Kellan, Quinn, Liam and Brennan. They fled their home land at seventeen years old and came to Texas. They are like brothers. Once established they made something of themselves. Kellan founded and is the CEO of his company, Quinn is a doctor, Liam is a lawyer and Brennan is the local sheriff. They are a great bunch of guys in their community. Kellan hooks up with a human and she ends up pregnant and Declan is born. She wants nothing to do with a baby so Kellan and his brothers raise Declan. He is a young dragon with a lot of energy and bigger than the regular kids. He tends to get into trouble at the daycare when he uses his strength to do things. Declan must live his life with his dragon a secret. His personality is so endearing. Clara is in a very abusive relationship and she is always in danger since she can never go to the police to report him since her boyfriend and his family hold positions higher up. She finally plans her escape without telling anyone where she is going and leaves all her belongings behind. Taking only a few bits of clothing that will fit in her big purse. She leaves a note misleading her boyfriend about where she is going, buys a bus ticket and ends up in Texas. Meanwhile boisterous Declan manages to wander off and goes to the park where he is testing his capabilities. Clara runs into him there while he is balancing on the top of a swing set on one leg. She manages to talk him down by having him show her something else that he can do. The park is where Kellan spots Declan and a lady talking to him in a gentle manner. He is impressed that his son is listening to her. So begins where Clara meets Kellan and after some talking and watching how well she treats his son, he offers her a job to be a nanny for Declan. She accepts since she doesn't have much money and knows nothing about the town she ended up at. She is a Kindergarten teacher that she left and loved it. So she shows a lot of patience with Declan and they get along so well. Kellan can't help but enjoy watching the two of them doing things. This story is so well written I loved the characters so much. There is excitement, humor, an endearing child that everyone in his family protects, then comes traveling and a old danger encountered. A young child that knows he has to protect his nanny. Their relationship you have to love. Here Clara learns how special Declan, Kellan and the brothers are. She escaped one threat and finds herself in a more threatening one. Loved this book by Brittany White. Would love to read more of her books like this one. Definitely recommend this book. I know that I will read this one again.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I received an ARC copy of this book! I’m a HUGE fan of paranormal romance and this book was different from my normal reads. It was AWESOME! Not too short not to long! Packed with love, secrets, mystery, and magic, this book will take you for a ride into the paranormal world. I can’t wait to continue this series.
Brittany White is a new to me author. Reading my very first book within this series, I’ve fallen in love with her writing. It was easy to read, I was able to follow and keep up with the story, I tried to form some of my own conclusions but I was wrong. She definitely keeps you on your toes with trying to guess how the story will unfold.
I loved how open hearted, caring and kind Clara was. Her ex took that for granted and caused her to flee before things turned worse than they already were. She moved away with not much to her name to start over when she met the most unlikeliest stranger.
Declan was a bundle of spunk that was ready to get out and be free. Often sneaking away from his dad because his inner self needed something more, he stumbled upon Clara and formed a bond so tight that it couldn’t be broken even by the secrets they were keeping.
Kellan was a hot single dad that was trying to keep under the radar. He was doing an amazing job until one fair skin red head came in and turned him upside down.
I won’t say more because I don’t want to give the story away! Do yourself a fave and grab your copy NOW! Awesome awesome awesome read!
Love! Love! Love! What's not to love about an Irish Dragon shifter? And when the tale is written by Brittany White...you just can't loose! Kellan has been doing his best raising his young son, but it's getting more and more difficult by the day. The young boy is having troubles expending his excess energy, and being a dragon shifter, his strength is unlike any of his human counterparts. When even the daycare can't handle him, Kellan knows he's got a problem on his hands. And just when he thinks it's going to be another rough day, in walks a ray of light, to save the day. Clara has finally escaped her abusive ex, leaving with absolutely nothing but a change of clothes and a few dollars in her purse. She's travelled across a few states, but finds herself at the end of her money. Seeing a young boy in the park perched precariously on the top of the swing set, she felt the pull to try and "save him". Her protective stance, as well as her sweet smell and beautiful face has Kellan and his dragon spinning. Will Fate move in and churn the pot? Or will these two move in opposite directions. Definitely worth the read! I was gifted a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.
Idk what to even say about this book idk if it’s because I haven’t really read a lot of dragon shifter books but this book sucked lol
Like recently I just been reading books where it talks about mates... to me when a shifter finds it’s mate it’s a powerful thing where they recognize the other person is their mate but it hasn’t been like that... I just been confused to be honest ...
This book he doesn’t see her as a mate at all he only calls her a mate because that’s who he chose to be with and love 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Let’s talk about the whole dragon thing he doesn’t fight at all he beats the witches by knocking her off his back 😳 say what??? It was just all weird I wish I can explain what I’m feeling about this book but it’s just off
The sex was repetitive
And I this point I just sound like a complete whiner 😩
I had no connection with his son either and to top it off idk why they started this book with her being in an abusive relationship it’s complete off path because he scares the dude once and never again it doesn’t even talk about what he did to him just that the guy pissed himself why try to make that part of the story if it doesn’t correlate with it 😩
I didn’t finished left off at 83% and I’m done
Happy reading my lovely bookworms stay safe always

Billionaire Dragon's Nanny was a fantastic read from start to finish and what a story line, it was absolutely brilliant from beginning to end and I was completely sucked in throughout. Brittany White, she's an amazing author and the plots she does in her books really blow my mind and I love them

Kellen knows Clata is his mate but he doesn't know if she can except what he is and when danger comes can he protect them.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it will not be the last. Her characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing. I really felt bad for Clara, she was living a nightmare with her ex but she escaped with only a few changes of clothes and the money she had saved. When the bus comes to a stop in a small Texan town Clara get off to try her luck there. She ventures into a park and sees a young boy walking on top of the swing set and that’s when the story takes off from there. Declan is a adventurist and has loads of energy for a boy of only five years old. Kellan, Declan’s father, sees Clara and how she interacts with Declan and has a proposition for her. Now Clara is living with the two and being the nanny to the rambunctious Declan. She is not ready for a relationship considering how the last one ended with her ex but she is just drawn to Kellan and it’s getting harder and harder to not act on it. Kellan is keeping a big secret from Clara, will it come back to bite him in the butt when she discovers it?

I've been looking for a new shifter romance series, so I really wanted to like this book...but for me it was just kind of meh. The writing style was just hard for me to get into. It was in the third person from dual POVs but it just felt like I was being told everything that was happening rather than feeling it. It left me feeling disconnected from the characters and the story. It also felt like the story kept jumping around from scene to scene with no segue. The action scenes were really lackluster for me because I wasn't feeling anything the characters were feeling so it felt like I was just being told everything that everyone was doing in a matter-of-fact way when what I wanted was to actually experience the story. I also agree with some of the other comments that Kellan didn't give me alpha shifter vibes at all as far as his personality and some of the things he said during intimate moments. They all came across as kind of polite, generally unemotional people.
Clara runs from her abusive ex and ends up as live in nanny to a little boy and his hunky father. Clara Alexander manages to escape her abusive ex but with only what fits in her handbag by hopping on a bus. When she gets off in Cedar Lake she encounters a young boy who is standing on top of the swing set and as she is trying to talk him into coming down his tall hunky father appears. Dragon shifter Kellan has been having problems with his son Declan's excess shifter energy and i away getting him out of trouble. He sees a human woman trying to talk Declan down and watches the way she seems to get him to respond while both he and his dragon find her attractive. On the spur on the moment he asks her to become Declan's nanny. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Four dragons are cursed by a witch in Ireland, each flee. This first story in the series is about Kellan and Clara. Kellan fled to Texas and this story is set centuries after he was cursed. Clara escapes her abusive boyfriend and traveling on bus, she stops at a small Texas town. Resting at the park Clara sees a 5 year old boy (Declan) walking on the top bar of the swings and befriends him. Declan’s father, Kellan, likes how they get along so he propositions her to work for him as Declan's nanny. Clare loves being Declan's nanny but feelings crop up between her and Kellan but Kellan hasn't told Clara what he is. When they go on a business trip in Scotland, the witch's coven threatens them, will they have a happy ending? I enjoyed reading this story and look forward to the story about the other dragons. ARC
I tried really hard not DNF this book but, fucking hell, this is a piece of shit. The plot was terrible and judging by the cover I already didn't expected much of the story, I was thinking the book would be about some steaming romance, a lot of smut scenes and a little bit of dragon shifters... HA HA NO! Out of nowhere a bunch of witches kidnapped the nanny and the son (I don't know why and I don't care), the nanny ran with the kid into a building and the kid exploded into a dragon, the nanny is like "omg! I'm hallucinating!" the scene proceeded and the son apologized for the shifter-thing and Clara's thinking "omg! We're hallucinating the same thing! Cool" I just couldn't put up with that shit, sorry. The story was promising until the kidnapping trope and the sex scenes were very bad.

A really great sweet story. A young woman runs away from an abusive relationship straight into the arms of a dragon family with a young son. Ciara gets off the bus in a small town and finds a young boy playing on the playground by himself. Unknown to her, his father and uncles are already searching for him because the young boy is always getting into mischief. The father, Liam, is the one that finds them together and is shocked at how well his son is taking to a stranger. Ciara and Liam get to talking and he hires her to look after his son, Declan, since he had been kicked out of preschool. Liam is invited to a meeting in Scotland to talk about his job. He decides to take Ciara and Declan with him and things go haywire. A lot of things happen and secrets are told.
Clara was running away from an abusive ex. Kellan is trying to raise his son on his own with his 'brothers' When they meet through Declan his son, they both feel something. She asks for his help in finding a job - he offers one once he see's how she is with his son - his live in nanny. She has no idea they are Dragon Shifters. The guys left their home years ago - but yearn to go back to Ireland. Kellan takes Clara and Declan with him to Scotland when he attends and exhibition. He wants to build a relationship with Clara but does not know how to tell her his biggest secret. Clara and Declan are kidnapped by witches. this is a great story with strong characters. Can Kellan rescue them in time? Can they both admit how they feel? When do we get Brennan, Liam and Quinn's stories? Totally loved the book and recommend reading it.
Hot for the nanny. When Clara runs away from her abusive ex-boyfriend, she stops at a small town in Texas and meets five year old Declan in a park. He is adorable and is showing off his gymnastic skills when his father Kellan shows up looking for him. Kellan hires Clara to be his nanny for Declan, and she is wonderful for the boy but Kellan is falling for her. When he gets the chance to go to Scotland for an important conference and takes Clara and Declan with him, they are put in danger. What he doesn’t know is that the Irish witch coven that Kellan and his three friends fled from as teenagers, knows he is in Scotland and will use Clara and Declan to get to him. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving review.
