Jennifer Webb collaborates with eight expert writers to give real insight into the written form, and offer practical teaching strategies for the English classroom. With advice on how to prepare students for writing beyond just the exam, the book includes dedicated chapters on writing a poet, a short-story writer, a playwright, an academic, a journalist and how to speak like a politician.
I got this more out of curiosity. It's really aimed at teachers (not me, hence the 4 not 5 stars) but I can highly recommend it for anyone working within education who wants to bring more creativity back to English lessons.
As with any collection of essay, some are better than others. Overall though, this book does a great job empowering English teachers to make their classroom more than just a place to prep students for English exams.
