A weird but interesting alien invasion story that starts with bees attacking..followed by bizarre doll like beings(hence the title).

It kinda hooked me with a relatable hero..but hopefully it can stand out from the many alien invasion stories around.

This must be my weekend for reading weird manga. This is a post apocalyptic story where giant dolls invade Earth. It's weird in that the dolls seem comical and creepy at the same time, but the story is very dark and violent. Once again, this is a manga that is just a little weird for me. I really weird and manga go hand in hand, but some is weirder than others.

We follow highschooler Iruma Ikaruga, whose life is change forever when aliens that are giant freaky chibi dolls invade Earth and he ends up losing his friends and crush. Nearly a year later, he is now a lone wanderer surviving in his hometown, now a desecrated place with scroungers and laying corpses. He eventually meets other survivors who have been able to defend themselves from the aliens and he gets a taste of the intense action.

It’s a real odd alien action story that does have some excitement inside it. The story is a bit predictable but the cast of characters manage to keep it on its toes. The weird doll aliens are a strange enemy for now, but their look and creepiness make them kinda interesting. I hope that this alien invasion becomes more unique and gripping. B (75%/Good)

I got this as a present and never read a manga before.
I liked the idea and drawings. Though it was really gross at some points, it was kinda funny and amusing to read.

Reading this bit by bit now. It's like Gyo and Attack on Titan with Cute Killer Dolls. A few chapters in and it's got me, but no idea when it's going to end, or if I'm going to keep reading. Just throwing it up here to see if anyone else has read this series.

Even if I hadn't lost my taste for apocalyptic stories, this one isn't great. Plus the "dollies" reminded me of evil Hairdorables.

Mascot Murderers from Beyond!

If you haven't guessed by the title of the book it has instances of death and also has at least one (I am assuming by how they were positioned) attempted rape and suicide. Of the deaths within the book there are an assortment including melting, being sucked up into an invader vacuum gun painfully, being sliced to pieces, and being shot by invader offense globes but rarely is the death not gruesome so if any of this bothers you are you are unable to handle gore than consider this series might not be for you.

Not sure if they come from outer space or some other place but it is evident that when a trio of friends are celebrating their victory after the big game with the rest of the team at the pool that nothing will be the same again when the murderous mascots first send a swarm of flesh melting hornets then proceed to seek out the humans still alive and murder them through various means. What started as an extermination has wiped out much of humanity though the mascot invaders seem to have lost the will to murder the humans left (unless the humans are foolish enough to attempt to murder the invaders.) This is a story of one boy losing his innocence as he loses his friends and discovers a group crazy enough to try to fight back against those that eliminated much of humanity. Let the hunts begin.

The first volume is a quick read. Even though a lot happens and the plot is pretty solid, the story and characters didn't quite grab me. The first few chapters are quick-paced and intense, with plenty of gore and horror to draw the reader in. But the concept (giant dolls descending on earth to kill and enslave humans) didn't leave me wanting more. Why exactly they're here and what they want, I don't care too much.

The art style is clear and readable and I do like the doll designs, but I'm leaving the rest of this story unread.

This is edge bait at its finest, very crazy MC, post apocalyptic story, random kiss, guns and gore. I can see the creators love for sports and makes sense why they went on to write Blue Lock. Out of the main 3 we meet in the prologue we’re believed to only have one remaining and then another one popped up out of nowhere, made no sense and I feel like the other one might still be alive but we’ll see

Pretty standard post-Attack on Titan edgelord faff. The pace across the 15 chapters included just goes from action scene to action scene, giving the characters no time to develop. The art's alright with some solid moments of gore, and the Dollies are fun villains to look at, although we have to wonder how much their design was built with marketability in mind.

Warnings: Violence, Gore, Language

I like weird books and movies but this one didn't connect. The characters are one dimensional and the dolls are too mechanical to deliver the creep factor they might otherwise imply.
