"THOUGH PERHAPS ABOVE ALL, SAVE US FROM THE MENACE THAT WISHES TO DESTROY HUMANKIND."

There is war but no peace as this riveting story continues. VALOR, the fourth book in the six book Ligeance Series, keeps readers on edge with one of the most unique stories written in historical fiction. Book four begins in 1830, where we witness extraordinary struggles that define the human condition, in the Old World and the New World. An ocean may separate the lands, though slavery, supremacy and liberty are shared concerns. These issues and others exact prices that never should have been paid.

As precious years move forward, rumors of war in America pit old enemies, new heirs and simmering grievances against a changing modern society. Shelter from the resulting storms are not possible for families, nations and the world. All will be affected in profound ways. In addition, conflicts which happened centuries before continue to have dramatic consequences hundreds of years later.

There can be no new beginnings while a torrid past begs for answers. Read more to discover why those people involved with the actions of 1779 carry an untold story which must be confronted and resolved. Then ask yourself if recorded history is really the true history we seek.

I very much enjoy the Ligeance series, and Valor continues to exemplify Johnson's superb story telling ability. He draws you in with vivid plots and memorable characters, and leads you on historical adventures interspersed with timeless themes. In Valor, the event of 1779 in the American Revolutionary War and a more ancient battle continue to cast shadows over lives in the 19th century. Looking forward to Books Five and Six!
Be sure to catch up with the preceding books in the series. Great reads!

VALOR, the fourth book in the LIGEANCE series is truly impressive. Craig Johnson has
created a work of historical fiction filled with both vivid characters and significant suspense.
The dichotomy of good versus evil is simply brilliant.
Looking forward to reading the last two books in this fascinating series!

The narrative the author uses to advance the plot gets long and repetitive. He does have a way with turning a phrase and that is why I gave two stars rather than one. He barely touched on the civil war, yet it is a major part of America’s history.
