When romance author Aster Hollingsworth takes a long-needed break in search of inspiration, she finds her Alaskan mountain getaway cut abruptly short when a tree meets the front of her rental car during a freak storm.
Stuck in the middle of nowhere, Aster needs more than a mere writing retreat—she needs help. And fast.
Lucky for Aster, a mountain-man-in-warm-plaid comes to her rescue and inspires her more than any time writing alone ever could.
Lucky for Gray Cooper, this gorgeous wordsmith who blurts out whatever she’s thinking, and intrigues him to no end, might be exactly the kind of woman he’s always wanted.
Sometimes reality can be so much better than fiction, all you’ve got to do is open your eyes and believe. *** Author seeking Mountain Man is book 1 of a new 4 book sweet, flirty, instalove series about four big, gruff and tough brothers living their lives on Moose Mountain. The mountain has always provided for these men, and now it’s sending them feisty women to warm up their cold mountain hearts and complete their mountain lives forever. Can we all say, awww.
This was short and sweet and steamy! I really enjoyed it! Aster is an adorable, no-filter-on-her-mouth virgin heroine. The banter between her and Gray was cute and brought out a few chuckles. Insta-love goodness made this quick read a delicious little treat. If you’re looking for something to read in under an hour with a quirky author heroine and a sexy, muscular mountain man, this one is fun.
My first read by this author and I will definitely be reading more.
Ive read this authors work 2 books so far:) they pretty good shortish novella with some steam. You can read at lunch ;)
Romance author Astar feels like she's in a slump nothing is coming to her so she needs a break a mini vacation to get her MOJO back. But alittle accident happens that has her meeting Gray a moutnian man who saves her. Their is some steamy sparks between the two now Gray needs to keep his romance writer to himself ;)
No ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore celibate for awhile
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Aster is a successful romance novelist for the past few years her life has consisted of writing, book tours and more writing. Making a decision to take some time off step has booked a cabin on a mountain in the hip that she can get creative juices going as all she has been doing recently is staring at a blank document. In her way to the mountain it’s suddenly hit with blizzard like conditions knowing she can’t get back down she tries to make it to the cabin when a tree crashes into her rental truck. When she wakes up she’s staring into the eyes of a man that takes her breath away. Could she have found her next story, one that they both get a HEA?
When Gray found Aster in her totalled truck he knows he needs to rescue her, but as soon as he sees her he sees his future. He will do everything he can to keep her on his mountain.
Short, safe and steamy with a great little epilogue, I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Recommended read if you like quickies. 4 🌟 Read
New author for me. Short book sweet and steamy. Adorable heroine and lovable hero. Totally safe. Virgin heroine, celibate hero. No cheating, no drama. Adorable epilogue with 4 kids and pregnant heroine.
This is my first book by this author and I quite enjoyed it. Definitely going to grab the next story in this series. -dual POV -virgin h, no mention of H's past -no cheating or abuse -insta-love -epi's at 5 years and 10 years
Too over the top for me. Yea this is insta love but geez after knowing her only a few hours he's already picturing her heavy with his child! No asking her if its OK if he rides bare back. No real angst its just a love fest. I did like that the author gave two epilogues. OK story for me but most people will probably enjoy it.
A good read for people who are into the series recommended highly a good read but quick shaping up to be a enjoyable series must read the next one of the series
Aster is on her way to her retreat when a freak storm knocks a tree on her car. Luckily mountain man Gray Cooper is there to save this sassy outspoken woman. The characters are well developed and the chemistry is undeniable from beginning to the end. I had a great time reading this first in series book. Looking forward to more.

Overall Stars: 3/5 Themes: - Shared space out of necessity due to winter storm: two people, one bed - Doing what’s best for your mental health and personal life (i.e. not putting the job first) -Romance Spice Factor: 4.5 / 5 Pros: - Surprisingly detailed! - Spice scenes are A+ - Very quick read! Took me under an hour. Nice cozy book (no high-stakes) you can read if you just want your itch scratched quickly. - Banter is pretty cute between FMC and MMC - I loved how the FMC keeps mentally talking about how good her book is going to be or how something would be a great scene/plot point in her book throughout the novella. Cons: - Typos peppered throughout novella. - I personally don’t like the pet name “baby girl” and that’s what Gray calls Aster 8000x unfortunately. But some people love it and that’s cool – but it’s not my favorite. - Overly fast pacing BUT the book is only 45 pages so I realize it had to be quick. But when Gray tells Aster he loves her 36 hours after rescuing her (and she’s been unconscious half the time or loopy because of the concussion) it seems super absurd. The author could have added a few lines or a paragraph detailing Gray tending to Aster over the duration of a week and it wouldn’t have felt so rushed. - Almost too caveman-y. Especially when Gray wants to “breed” Aster. I expect that more from wolf shifter, barbarian, or alien romances – not pure human romance books. You would like this book if: - You like men with caveman/primal personalities - You like burly mountain men - You like books that have tons of smut, little plot and no high-stakes. About 80%-85% of this book was smut. If you’re into detailed plotlines, this isn’t the book for you. - You like easy and cheesy reads Fav quotes: “Why is my head acting like it has a set of kegel balls rolling around inside it?”
“Well, besides the people in my head. They’re always around.” …. “What the fuck did she just say?” “God, this book’s love scenes are going to be off the charts!”
“That’ll turn the book into a one-handed read for sure.”
“It’s been a long time. But us boys come here when we want to be close to them. It’s like their spirits are still here.”
“But the mountain isn’t my only home. Not now . . . You are, Aster.”
“Ten years is a long time to be enamored with someone, but I have a feeling we’ll be just as into each other another ten-fifteen years from now.”
Would I read again? Maybe! It was definitely a novella you’d have to be in the mood for. Would I read a book from this author again? Yes. I’m going to read Cole and Jemma's story!
Her knight in flannel.....His Princess in a fairytale
Author Seeking Mountain Man is the first book in the Moose Mountain Brothers series. This is the first book I have ready by Marley Michaels and I really enjoyed it. She has crafted a fun, sweet, romantic and sexy OTT short story that is well written and had me laughing out loud. Aster Hollingsworth is a romance author that needs to take a break and find some fun again as she has a severe case of writer's block. So she books a flight to Alaska and a cabin in the woods on Moose Mountain. Unfortunately for her as she is driving up the mountain the weather changes and before you know it a tree is coming down across the road with a sudden impact to her truck. Luckily for her though she has the most wonderful dream and discovers a great new story-line for a new romance. Gray Cooper is the oldest of four big and sexy brothers, (Cole and twins Brooke and Boone who were all raised on Moose Mountain. When he is out checking his traps just as a snow storm is coming in he hears a tree coming down and then a loud metal crunching sound. When he goes to investigate he finds a badly damaged truck and a beautiful young woman at the wheel. After he ensures she is not injured, other than hitting her head and getting a concussion, he scoops her up and carries her back to his cabin. Aster is a sweet, beautiful, introvert who hears voices in her head, well not the crazy kind but her characters. So when she hits her head and finds a big, bearded and sexy mountain man coming to her rescue she thinks she is dreaming and being rescued by her new book boyfriend character. Little does she know that as she is mumbling away Gray is actually a real sexy mountain man who has found his angel.
I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to other readers who would like to discover a new author. Now on to Cole Cooper, a mountain guide and Fish and Game officer, and Jemma Scott, Aster's assistant who is a redheaded spitfire.
Author Seeking Mountain Man is the first book in Marley Michaels’ Moose Mountain Brothers. In this book we meet two delightful and charming characters—Aster Hollingsworth and Gray Cooper. She is a petite and beautiful romance author. He is a rough and tough mountain man and the oldest of four brothers. She tries to overcome a writer’s block by retreating to a remote Alaskan mountain, gets caught in a snowstorm, has a tree crash into her car and is rescued by this sexy mountain man. He nurses her to health and in the process, they fall in love. But will reality set in once the storm is over and the roads are clear? Will Aster get over her writer’s block? Is there love more than an infatuation? You must read this book to see what happens? Once again, Ms. Michaels has outdone herself. As the first book in her series, she sets the tone for this series. She also introduces readers to other family members and close associates that will soon have their own books. Ms. Michaels creates strong and diverse primary and secondary characters. I enjoyed the rich conversational and internal dialog. Ms. Michaels uses witty banter as part of Aster and Gray’s flirtations. Her use of descriptive language pulls readers into their story. Her descriptions of Aster’s assistant, Jemma, helps readers to conjure up clear picture of a dynamic pixie. As in the other books she has written, Ms. Michaels includes two epilogues with each lead character’s forecasting into their future lives at five- and ten-year intervals. Nice job, Ms. Michaels!
Aster has rented a cabin to get away but the weather gets worse then a tree smashes her windscreen. Successful writer Aster Hollingsworth is suffering from burnout from all the dead lines and book tours so she arranges to hires a cabin to get away for some peace and quiet. Before leaving the airport she had checked the weather and was was told it was clear for the day but that a storm was forecast for the next day but as she heads up the mountain the weather changes with snow making it hard to see. Then there is a flash of white light and as Aster hits the breaks the windscreen is smashed and bits of pine tree come through and she blacks out. She has dreams like scenes from her stories of a big sexy mountain man and when she comes to there is just such a man looking after her.. Gray Cooper had seen the lightening heard the bang and the screech of a vehicle and rushed to see what had happen. He is surprised to find the woman driving only has a bump on her head and scrapes and bruises. Due to to the state of the weather he takes her to his cabin.

Frustrated exhausted and I need a break, Aster asked her needs a retreat. She goes to Alaska to Moose Mountain. Aster is trying to locate where her cabin is the forecast changes dramatically from clear blue sky’s to upcoming snowstorm. While she’s trying to get her self situated the snow comes down pretty hard. Blinding. Next thing you know there is a tree on top of her truck. She’s knocked out because the windshield is broke. She’s having the words flow through her brain for her next new romance series. She think she’s in a dream. Gray who was walking in checking the traps hurt the tree fall. Considering he lives up there on the mountain he was able to locate her very quickly. After 24 hours of her being unconscious she finally comes to a stays up longer than five minutes. This is where the fun begins. No cliffhanger. Just a lot o plots and ideas for her next book.

Inner story Very good romance which has a simple side, but the perspective narrated by an author, makes the story interesting, especially the impression of being in her head when she has a commotion at the beginning of the story. After the story is cute, and a little hot. Aster is an author out of inspiration and she decides to isolate herself in a mountain rental, but she has an accident and a concussion. She is saved by Gray. During this intervention, Aster thinks that she is talking to her characters and describes Gray, his actions, his role in the romance that she writes in her head which leads Gray to know all her thoughts, even the most intimate. When Aster has recovered enough, she understands what happened, and goes from fiction to reality. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book 81% « Astor » instead of « Aster »
Aster has rented a cabin in the mountains so she can clear her writers block. Only she is stopped when a freak snow storm hits hard and a tree crashes down on top of her in her hire car. When Aster wakes up, she sees the most beautiful man with legs like tree trunks, he is hot!
Gray has been alone on his mountain for a while. He hasn’t been with a woman for a long time and when he sees Aster, he knows she is his and he has to convince her to stay with him. When he finds out that he is her first, he is determined to convince her to stay with him forever.
Their love is quick and strong, but they both are willing to give it a try and they live happily ever after on their mountain where their cabin keeps growing to keep up with their family.

What a story! It is by far not the longest I have read, but as some authors manage this shorter kind of stories whereas others just flop. Well this author, at least with this story does most certainly NOT flop! Nosiree... This is one steaming hot and fun to read story that also manages to have plausible and a very good storyline and oh so fine characters!!! As I don´t want to ruin anyones enjoyment from reading this story for themselves no more descriptions here. It is just really a good story and very deserving of the four stars I am giving it here, it is almost into the fantastically rare five stars...

Gray is everything she imagines a mountain man would be and he steals her heart. A decision to stay will change her life for the better and her life with Gray will bring her more success with her novels. In the end, their happily ever after is filled with love, steam and lots of children.

This is another contender in the short and steamy novellas that seem to be coming out more frequently all the time and I love them they take about 30 minutes to read and are perfect for this fast paced world we live in This is a first time author for me but if this is any indication of her work she will become another firm favourite
Aster Hollingsworth is a romance author who needs some inspiration so she has headed to the wolds of Alaska looking for it What she actually finds is a tree that connected with her car Now she is trapped and needs rescuing luckily local mountain man Gray Cooper comes to her rescue and now that he has met her he has every intention of keeping her but will she agree
As my title says the second book in this four book series isn’t out yet and I know cos as soon as I finished this short insta love read I searched for it. The second book is on preorder so I purchased that and purchased the first - this current book this review is for. This is my second ever insta love series and I have to admit being a mountain man book and her being an author I loved it! Like so freaking much! I’m a sucker for HEA endings and non cheating and insta love cos lets be honest it can happen. Anyway, it’s a short read so it’s great for when you’ve got a Spare hour ish or so - I was sucked right in though that I couldn’t put it down once I started so fair warning but enjoy :).

This is a delightful story of the fates bringing Aster and Gray together
Aster is a writer who is needing to recharge. Deciding a get away would be great, only for it trip to take an unbelievable turn. Gray is out on the mountain when he comes across an accident and the women for him. Together they find their what they are both looking for.
This is a fast read with sweet and caring characters that love a bit of nature. Moose Mountain Brothers series is off to a great start and I can't wait to read to other brother's story.

Romance author Aster Hollingsworth is tired, suffering from writer’s block and wanting to find inspiration. So she heads for Alaska for some time in the mountains. However, a snow storm and a fallen tree derail her plans. The tree unfortunately falls on her vehicle, smashing the window. Aster definitely needs rescuing fast!
Fortunately Gray Cooper is out checking his traps and hears the accident and gets her safety. When she finally wakes up, the adventure really begins for both of them. He is sure he has found “the One” and he is just what she needs, providing the perfect inspiration for her romance writing . . . and more!
Aster, a romance author, is in a writing funk. She's headed toward a mountain cabin for a 2-week stay to recharge, when she has an accident in an unexpected snowstorm. Gray rescues her, and takes her to his cabin. There's no way to get her to her cabin, so she's staying with Gray, and things are a bit tight, and he'd like to keep her right where she is. This is short and sweet and unbelievably steamy. She's fairly good-natured about his teasing. The actions and dialog of these two are what she uses to write her next book. There's a very cute epilogue. On to Cole and Jemma...

Okay! My new favorite series! Fixing to start the second one in this series and I can't wait. For someone who usually never writes a review, I honestly think this is my 3rd or 4th but for a fact I know it's not more than 5. I always rate all the books I read, I am an avid reader have been since I was a child. I am now almost 50. I wrote my first review about 6 or 7 months ago an the author wrote me back. To say I was surprised was an understatement. I just had to say this is the first book I read by you and I love it. I am a fan for sure! So please keep in doing what you do.
Yeah, I'm going to rate this one because I enjoyed this one but there were some parts that I was confused or something.
Although, there was one scene that I wasn't sure if is right
Thank God for short novellas because I know there would not be CHEATING. I can handle a few OW/OM drama as long as it doesn't take the majority of the book to solve it. hahaha
Wish all books have safety tags on it. (Fantasy, Romance every genre).
I loved Author Seeking Mountain Man by Marley Michaels. It was well written and the characters were amazing together. Looking for an escape and inspiration for her next series, romance author Aster Hollingsworth travels to Moose Mountain. She meets sexy mountain man Gray Cooper when she crashes her rental car. Big, strong and incredibly sexy, Aster has found her very own book boyfriend. Rescuing the beautiful young woman, Gray is ready to claim her as his own. If you enjoy smoking hot romance, you will love this story. Would love more of Cole and Jemma next!
After reading this book I had to take a little time to compose myself and get my thoughts clear in my head before I put them in a review. Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.

This was close to a DNF, it was more like a car accident you can't look away from. This is a me thing, as it was a virgin story with everything I don't like about that trope.
Woman is stranded in a snowstorm after a tree hits her car. The mountain man hears the accident and pulls her from her car. Insta-love. He wants to make her stay, but not everybody can handle living in the woods. She is a virgin romance writer who has writer's block. Her mountain man is giving her lots of inspiration though.
Considering this is a whole series of virgins and book 4 being dual virgins it is safe to say I won't be continuing the series.
