If you are like me, you were curious as you read in a Magic and Mage book about Emrysa. She seemed the epitome of evil and darkness. Was she always evil? What was her story? Now all those questions are answered.

Emrysa and her twin brother, Dermot, will come of age in just three moons. While Emrysa’s magic is strong, her brother with less magic has focused on science embracing alchemy. They have always felt that nothing from outside their strong family can touch them but they are about to have that faith destroyed.

Un unexpected visit from a pair of witches from the Alchive Council, spied upon by the young duo, has ominous implications for Dermot, the youngest twin. It seems the youngest of every generation of Chevals is said to have a dragon heart. Whatever that is, it seems to foretell doom.

Is there a way to outwit the council? To change this destiny? Grab Raven Heart and read on!

Emrysa has taken over Morganne’s body and is now her jailer and the Cheval sisters, Amara and Fae are trying to confront their aunt but she takes them into the void, a desolate space where the sisters thought they would get answers to their questions but Emrysa said they would have to live and experience her life to get to the truth. Over the many years the truth had been cruelly distorted and this story is Emrysa’s very sad story in which she loses everything and everyone she ever loved to the Alchive Council. The Council which was meant to protect all magic wielders but as usual once they felt that the Duvals might be more powerful than the whole Council they decided to eradicate them all and it became as usual a war for power. But Emrysa had promised a vendetta and that she would make the Council pay for taking everything from her and now she was back to see this done. The prophecy had said she would need a fire heart and she had got one, now all she needed to do was fight the darkness and rid the world of it. This book and Emrysa’s story has become very dark but it has become even more interesting and I feel that her story needed to be told and the lies needed to be uncovered so that the Duval Sisters would know who to side with to protect their world and magic!

Emrysa’s life is revealed, and a lot of surprises with it. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
