Vex I’ve lived my life free and easy. No attachments, no entanglements. I easily move on after an evening with a woman. For a night, they get all I have to give. After that, it’s time to go. They’re warned ahead of time, so tears and ploys have no effect on me. I love my MC family, the Devil’s Angels, and my bikes. Not much else. Certainly, none of the various women I’ve known.
Then I meet someone who changes all my rules, thoughts and beliefs. But as luck would have it, she’s the unattainable one. She seems immune to my charm and that tweaks my ego. After being warned away from her, I try to push her to the back of my mind. She doesn’t stay there for long though. Now I’m determined to have my night with her, consequences be damned.
Taja Trying to raise my sister, working any job I can while fighting to keep a roof over our heads, I don’t live the life of a normal woman my age. I don’t have time for dating, sex or men. Especially a member of an MC. My father’s an MC President and I want nothing to do with that lifestyle. Not even for the gorgeous biker whose nearly golden eyes follow my every move. Common sense tells me he’s in it for a night, and that’s not my style. Best to keep my head on straight and ignore what my body’s craving.
Actions have consequences and fate has a way of messing up the best laid plans.
Adult Content Warning:This book is intended for readers 18 years of age and older. It contains adult language, violence, explicit sex and may contain triggers for some people.
Lola Wright currently lives in the great state of Michigan with her husband. She has enjoyed living in several different areas of her home state and the USA but Michigan is home. Her kids are grown now and between them, her grandchildren and numerous furry family members, Lola keeps busy.
When Lola has free time she will most likely be found outside riding her horses or being entertained by her rescued mini’s, her dogs and cats. Lola has a passion for feeding the wildlife and enjoys watching them come and go on her property. If indoors, Lola is usually cooking up new recipes, reading or is in front of her computer dreaming up who she hopes is the perfect couple.
I swear Lola Wright knows how to write a book and. Make me fall in love!! This book felt so real to me. I felt a HUGE connection to Taja. I know her pains and her struggles. And she was so strong. Losing a mom is one of the hardest things I’ve had to deal with. And Vex omg him and his half Hawaiian self!! 🤤 🤤 and total swoon!! Please if you haven’t read take a chance on this series. You will laugh so hard your stomach hurts and you cry. Then tears of sadness. This book ended so fast I wanted it to just keep on going.
Vex has watched as four of his MC brothers found their HEA partners. First the club's Prez Gunner. Then Axel & Chubs. Finally Pooh. You'd think that might give Vex the itch to find his own Old Lady but it's just the opposite. Vex has a firm iron clad policy of no seconds with the same female. EVER. Some may call him a man whore based on that but to each their own, as with his sexual skills and reputation of total satisfaction, he's never had a problem finding a new bedmate.
Taja has lived a life no one else should. With a biker club President father who bailed when her mother got sick, caring for her terminal cancer mother until she passed, and helping to raise her 15 year old sister, Taja has learned that life is unfair. Her one goal is to now make sure her sister never has the occasion to learn the same.
Giving up one semester short of getting her nursing degree, Taja now works as a bartender to support herself and her teenage sister. A lucky circumstance gives her the opportunity to grab a position at the Devil's Angels MC strip joint where decent wages and good tips help her with the day to day bills and unexpected new debt that has challenged her ability to keep her head above water.
Drama starts when Dev sets his eyes on Taja who knows what kind of player he is but feels drawn to him nonetheless. The question is then what happens to a player when the player gets played.

Warning: This book includes adult content and behavior consistent with biker lifestyle situations. A lifestyle that includes violence, blood letting, and scenes that may be disturbing for sensitive readers regarding the treatment of women and pregnancies. Consider yourself warned
This is the 4th installment in the "Devil's Angels MC" series that could be read as a standalone but the series does build off previous installments so any new reader to the series would lose out on understanding individual characters in the series and how they have evolved going into this book/story. Personally, I'd discourage anyone from doing that but it is possible.
Vex has had been featured in previous installments in this series in cameo roles but it was just a matter of time before he was going to get his own time to shine. Leading up to this installment, the author made it a point to premise that something was off regarding Vex in his behavior and demeanor but what the reason for it was unclear. You see, each book in series includes parallel time line events and scenes that are featured in different books in the series so something in one book that was vague is fleshed out fully in another. One example here is that previous installments included Vex acting weird and suspicious. Could be a number of reason but not to the point anyone could really put their finger on. Was he a traitor, rogue, experiencing mental illness, hiding a secret, or just a jerk/asswipe in general. The "aha" moment is finally revealed in this book. Not sure how I feel about that as it comes across disjointed and gave me whiplash going back and forth to piece all that from past to present and vice versa but at least now I know .... the rest of the story.
Vex & Taja make life interesting as they have their own backgrounds and baggage. Need to add skeletons in their closets too. Mutual trust comes slowly while the physical aspects of their relationship don't. An oopsie moment results in a pregnancy that forces the two to realize their past doesn't shape their future. Unless they want it to.
Secondary characters. This is when I feel new readers to the series would lose out. Most of the characters from previous installments are back to varying degrees. And. I love them all because I've read the series. Each brings a different personality that makes this so so so good. The thing I'm unsure of is WHO is going to be featured next and that's killing me.....
I want to include a really vague but I feel important observation regarding this book. I do note the author did include an Adult Content Warning that is helpful as it definitely is an adult biker erotic romance with some dark undertones. The thing is there should have been another meaningful warning regarding triggers. To even hint at what trigger I'm concerned about for new potential readers would be a MAJOR spoiler on my part and I don't do spoilers, especially when it's a new release. Vague vague reference is that this story had me in stitches laughing to the extreme during certain scenes. The kind of laugh where I can't read more than a couple sentences without putting my e-reader down as it's just that damn funny. On the other side are scenes that had me in tears. Big fat salty tears that had me blubbering and crying my eyes outl. So, between the author's warning in the book blurb, my own warning in my review, and that vague reference I think I've covered the possible (and I do mean possible) trigger content. I just want to include the topic so it's out there because that's the type of girl I am.
I love love love this series. I adore the series. i am a big time fan of the series despite any personal feelings of editing or content concerns. Not a fan of the parallel time line scenes though I understand their significance. I do appreciate the author ending each book on a plateau vs a cliffhanger with a teaser for the next installment. It's the same case here except I can't tell who will be up for their story next. That's ok as the ending had me way too emotional to care.
HOLY MOTHER OF BOOK LOVERS!! I ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, THIS SERIES! First I HAVE to say, Lola you rock my world! Lola's writing style makes you feel so many emotions you can practically feel the characters emotions coming off the pages. This series is so entertaining at times It felt like I was watching a movie. The characters are so believable it's like I knew them. Vex is a gorgeous growly hot alpha man-whore. Taja is a beautiful strong loyal loving woman who loves her younger sister Tessie more than anything in the world and when it comes to Tessie she's like a mama bear protecting her cub. This series hits everything for me. From start to finish I was so consumed I almost peed my pants. The characters are so easy to fall in love with. The first time Vex sees Taja bartending at Dreams she has him all twisted up. The chemistry between them starts growing and before you know it the building could be on fire and you wouldn't even notice. Taja has some secrets that could tear them all apart. One thing about the Devil's Angels is they value honesty. Tessie is a sweetheart who happens to love working on cars. They all love her instantly and when Vex takes her to practice her driving for the first time I laughed my @ss off! When Taja and Tessie's secrets come out of the woodwork it's kinda frightening. I can't get enough of this series and these characters. Little Craig is still up to his ornery ways. He's adorable! He cracks me up! And don't get me started on Mac. Lmao! I loved how Ava's huge cat Duffy clings to Taja the same way he did to Vex. I cannot say enough about this series It's phenomenal! At times I was crying so hard I couldn't see to read it was heartbreaking. When Tessie gets taken I was actually nervous that the guys wouldn't get to her soon enough. This book is romantic, erotic, sweet, touching, suspenseful, thrilling, fun and I LOVED EVERY FREAKIN MINUTE OF IT! I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO EVERYONE! I can't wait for Chubs and Lucy's book.
Oh my how I love this book! Vex the reformed bad boy had met his match, a no nonsense, independent woman who's not afraid to go toe to toe with Vex. When you read this 4th book, you'll get some sad moments, you'll cry, you'll laugh but best thing is the book will leave you with a feel good feeling, author Lola Wright have done it again, this is a must read everyone.
I'm hooked to this series to be honest the whole MC world to be honest I loved vex in this book but I was sad that they lost the baby there while love helped them through it all and the play with the sister driving thats me 🥰
I've really enjoyed this M.C. Biker romance series. From the very first book, I knew this author wouldn't disappoint me and I'm very happy to say I was freaking right! Damn, it feels good to be right at times... (don't it ladies?) Anyway, I would highly recommend this book for readers that's looking for possessive, crazy in love alpha heroes. I loved the laugh out loud moments, the edge of your seat suspensive moments, and even the damn tear-jerkers ones too. From the beginning to the end there wasn't a dull moment with this book and/or the series.
Good job and bravo Lola Wright, for being consistent and keeping me captive through-out this entire series so far. I just hope you'll be able to top yourself with the next book of this series. I can't wait for the goodness!!!
I think I loved this book the best so far. Doing a favor for a friend brings two people together. Things might not have started the way it was supposed to be but I'm sure it was what was meant to be. Taja's and Vex's book. I will warn you there's a really sad event and I about cried . Things happen for a reason
I have not finished this yet, I'm like 10% in, and I'm sure a lot is going to happen and change, but as of 10% in, I do not like Taja. I had high hopes for her, she's the daughter of an MC President, I am hoping she's tough and bad ass, quirky and fun. So far, zilch. She's managed to piss me off. She's filling in for her friend at Dreams, a bar owned by our MC Club. She forgot to mention to them that her father is the President of a rival club. I get it that her father isn't and hasn't been in her life for awhile, but is she that reckless & ignorant not to mention this fact to the club that she is working for, who, is now also offering her a full time job! This is gonna be a huge problem. She's gonna start a war between clubs over such a stupid thing. Of course one of her dads MC guys confronts her at the club, about exactly that! She, being reckless and stubborn, and selfish, doesn't care. Then when Vex asks her about this confrontation, she BLANTANTLY lies, pretends she has no idea who he was or what club he was from! She's stirring shit between 2 clubs for a job, a bar tending job she can probably find elsewhere and save herself and these clubs the shit storm she's bringing on!!! Ugh!!! Then, oh my shit, she actually says this:
"I hate liars, and I’ve never been good at being deceptive. I say what I think, and I stand behind my words. I wait patiently for his response to all I just laid out for him."
WOW. She's literally lying about who she is by omitting her parentage and affiliation to a rival club!! Talk about double standards! It just turns me off. I have no connection with her, I don't care about her, I don't want Vex and his club to get into a war over this idiot. Who does she think she is? Helen of Troy??!! And Vex of course will risk his club for her and her LIES!!!!
Also, Craig!! His character is ridiculous, he's 4 years old , yet talks like an adult, he is always so filthy it stinks up the place, he puts his hand down his pants to scratch his ass!! Craig started covid!! It's not even funny and/or cute that he is like this. It's gross and makes me nauseous.
I hate when this happens, I get into a new MC Club series and it starts out so strong then by book 3, 4, it's running downhill for me. So disappointing.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Vex is a man who never planned on having a woman by his side, he is always upfront with the women he sleeps with they have their fun for the few hours they spend together and there are no repeats. When Taja begins working at the strip joint owned by the Devils Angels MC she catches the eye of Vex, but he is quickly warned off and a bit thrown off by her lack of interest in him.
Taja knows to stay away from bikers, her father is the president of a club that moved out of town years ago and they were the scum of the earth. Taja put her life on hold in order to care for her mother and help raise her sister. When her mother passes, her father reenters her life and not for anything good. She has enough on her plate without fighting the attraction to Vex and she knows from the rumors about him he is not one for relationships. The attraction though is intense and when one moment leads to another what will happen when it becomes something they cant resist.
I was torn on this one, it is a definite tearjerker and had me thinking quite a bit ab out it after I had finished it. Vex was everything and more then I expected. I loved Taja and especially her sister, she is a hoot. I could not put this book down, #2 in the series for me with Gunner story the first in my favorite list. Excellent.
Although this book does have a trigger warning on it I think it needs to be more clear that it’s about stillbirth even though this is also a spoiler. I loved the book right until the birth. Still birth is a sensitive subject and needs to be handled so. I felt something so serious is not what I’d normally expect from a Lola Wright book and it came out of the blue. I don’t however think it was handled well and I didn’t feel it added to the book in anyway. It was kind of glossed over. If you are going to touch base n such a sensitive subject it needs to be done well and needs to add to the story. This is near the very end of the book and up to this point I’d been loving vex and taja And seeing all the gang again but this made it only a 4 star for me. Such a shame to end the book this way.
Another amazing read and I'm really looking forward to the next book. I never expected this from Vex and I didn't expect his quietness and moodiness to be because of a women. He was really soft hearted and really considerate . For a 'reformed' manwhore he took the advice he got and literally followed it to a tee but was even better. I loved Tessie she was a riot and fit right in. Taja is so strong and her strength after what she went through especially towards the end of the book shows how amazing and strong she is! They really suited each other and couldn't have been a better pair together. Well done Lola Wright. Hopefully we'll get some answers on Chubs!
Another good story. Vex and Taja were awesome together. I liked them both individually and as a couple. Lots of time with the club family. I did expect a little more drama with the other MC . This book felt like it dragged a little for me, not sure why. There are triggers in this one as well.
It was really unexpected to me that I’d have the feels over Vex’s book mostly because he hadn’t made much of an impression on me in the previous books in the series. But the star of this book isn’t the universally acknowledged as gorgeous and promiscuous Vex or even strong, responsible Taja, who’s looking after her sister as they grieve the recent loss of their mother. Rather the star of this story is their relationship as they go through life’s traumas together. Much like the previous book, Taja and Vex’s relationship is the absolute best part of this book. It’s instalove-esque but also not quite, there are bumps along the way but not toxic ones, natural ones as two very different people come together and learn each other. I loved how the author dealt with grief and how the ensemble cast was a community of support around them. This was an absolute delight and is my favorite in the series so far. There are a few mildly problematic bits, it is MC romance after all, but nothing too bad and I really enjoyed this.
*WARNING* story contains explicit adult content, crude language, and some violence I have loved this series since reading book one with Gunner and Ava. There's no need to read these in order, but you'd be missing out on some incredible books. The antics of the animals are hilarious. Picturing a Macaw arguing a big scary biker man? 😂😂😂😂 The storyline is always amazing with lengths these characters will go in keeping people safe. This one had an extremely tearful experience and, yes, I cried right along with The characters. The characters are wonderful. Well written. Well edited. I would recommend this entire series to all adults. I need more!!
Vex was like an enigma to me, the only thing we knew about him was that he was the "pretty boy" and a man-whore. Of course we also know that he's loyal and loves his MC family. We finally get to know more about him and what a surprise that was. Taja is a incredible person. So, so strong. What she has been through in her life is enough to take anyone down but she perseveres and does what needs to be done. Very admirable! Tessie her sister is a hoot and their so lucky to have each other. For those that think this series isn't hard-core enough well this one showed what a true 1% MC can be about and it wasn't pretty. I'm sorry to see the end of this series and I hope there is more to come because there sure is plenty of potential for more ie., Chubs, Cash, Horse, etc.
This was a good read with an amazing storyline but the reason I only gave it a 4* was because I would have liked more details about the family angst and the trouble that was caused due to this. The characters were charismatic, even the ones we know just seem to grow better. The humour follows throughout the series and the different story’s complement each other and just makes you want to read more. There are some triggers so read the reviews and details before you go ahead and read.
I really love this series but I struggled between a 3 or 4 star rating or even posting a review. The main couple were awesome, the secondary characters especially the pets make me laugh, and the plot kept me glued to my kindle. I thought all the way till the last couple of chapters I had a feel good happy ending coming but that isn't what happened. "The Event" which unfortunately mirrored real life memories for me ( and I imagine it will for others) blindsided me and I just barely finished it. There is an epilogue which does give this couple a happy future. I don't want to spoil it but I wish someone had for me so I would have skipped this one.
I love this series! Each book features a couple but past couples and other members are also included. The secondary characters are just as fleshed out as the main.
How can you not love these biker boys all of them even Axel! I have no words - this is one of the most heart wrenching stories I have no words, I am emotional invested without a Doubt
The story was so good. You still have the characters from the last few books. But you can read it as a standalone. The characters are hilarious as well as relatable. I love the fact that all these books have characters that you can connect with and their feel real. Definitely a Recommend
