Hadjar received a task from his Mentor and traveled to the border between the two Empires. During his journey, his skyship was attacked in enemy territory, forcing him to abandon it. He barely survived, thanks to the efforts of people whom he is obliged to kill on the spot — the Lascanians.
This unpredictable storm of events stranded the Mad General far away from his goal. Suddenly, he found himself fighting alongside enemy cultivators and even an orc. Now they must band together to stop the demon invasion, otherwise, the war between their Empires will never take place, because no Empires will be left to wage it...
How messed up are wars? There are no winners in war. There is only the dead. There's no victory, there's no honour... there is only emptiness. Are you free from the atrocities just because you are a soldier fighting for whatever cause your superiors instilled in you?
Hadjar finds himself in another Empires lands. The three disciples he meets are young, they're hopeful and they're compassionate... they did save his life. But they are also his enemy, or his people's enemy. What makes it okay to destroy their lives when you've lived with them? What makes it okay when they would have destroyed you had they known where you were truly from?
Is that the way of the world these days? Black VS White. White VS ALL People of Colour. Black VS Asians. Gays VS Heteros. What else is there? Why do we, as humans keep hating on one another? In fantasty... why are Orcs seen as less than? Why is your home origin seen as less? Why? Why? WHY??

It's amazing to me that Klevanski can create so many alternate ways for the protagonist to develop his abilities. And he does it with a seemingly consistent overarching magic system while peeling back the layers for the reader.
I enjoyed reading this book because of how captivating the personality of the main character,Hadjar is and how he comes up with insane plans to meet his goals. Along with seeing him training and getting stronger throughout the book. You get to follow him through his many adventures and see his sense of character and how he struggles to get stronger and protect his friends.
I gave this book 5 stars for a few reasons. One, I like the settings and imagining them with the details given is nice. Two the depth of the way the characters change throughout the story is riveting and an interest grows in wanting to see how it ends.Three the combat the combat is shown with great detail allowing you to visualize what is happening as it happens, which makes the story even more page turning. Throughout the book you can see how the characters change and evolve from their selves in the beginning to the end.
These are the reasons I rated this book 5 stars. I can't wait to read the next one.
I love the book, and I love the series, and the author too. I’ve read many lit rpg books as well as many cultivation series, but this one has to be my favorite. One of the important things to note is that spacing out when reading this book is going to really mess with how you view things, and your probably not going to understand things either. Other than that have fun reading this.
Fantastic series. Powerful and driven MC. Amazing supporting cast. Author artfully weaves the smaller story arcs into the larger narrative. I am a huge fan of this series and look forward as all the aspects of the MC (dragon, spirit, Emperor) drive forward to combine or clash within the MC. Add in the unreliable computer/AI and you have a long standing series that will be a staple in your library.
Like the story, the characters, the world, but I must have read "damn it all" more times in this book than in every other book I've read combined. Need to get rid of that phrase or tone it way down, like that all of these are complete books with actual endings, the story is nicely broken up, missing the side kicks and the humor they inject though, looking forward to the next one.
This is a very good series. Was actually going to give it a 4 star because, while interesting for the most part, a lot of the book was a little bit boring and drawn out. However, the battle scene and intrigue towards the end was its saving grace.
Looks like it’s back to waiting for more chapters on Patreon. It’s a double edge sword. You can read ahead but only get half a book when it’s released. Best series I’ve ever read by a mile.
Alright... Although this book is awesome and continues the series in a great way. The continued rape of characters/side characters is really annoying. I get it continues the story and sets up a future revenge trope. Which Hadjar's actions pretty much made inevitable. Can't wait for the next book.
This series just keeps getting better and better! Kirill is now early in my top my authors list. Seven books in and everything single one has delivered!
First, my review: “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
Second, I am not a bot...at least I don’t think I am. Yes this is copy pasta (just learned that term, so fun!) simply because I feel like any book I read deserves acknowledgement but at the same time my feelings on reviews conflict with the normal review process.
I enjoyed this book, so my goal is to promote it and help the author. If you are a potential reader, just stop reading now and take the above as all you need to know. I am not going to share my reasoning, thoughts on the book, or any opinions that would influence your decision to read it. It is my opinion that Art needs to be experienced at an individual level. You are the only one that can determine what you like and don’t like. Don’t let others make that decision for you. You should definitely read the book and completely ignore all of the reviews. Or not if you don’t think this book is for you. That choice is all yours and the beauty of art appreciation. You are a much better judge of what you will like than anyone here.
If you are a member of the IAK Guild (thanks, Jason) or part of the review police, feel free to criticize me and challenge my philosophy on reviewing art. I think we all love a good debate. The forums are open and I welcome your comments. I was wrong in my previous request to get you to stop. Your blatant disregard for that request has led to some fun discussions. Growth is important for us all.
Land of Demons by Kirill Klevanski is the second book in a row that I would consider top form in the Dragon Heart series. There is some tropey-ness here and there, and you can see some aspects of the end coming just fine - especially one of the arcs with the trio you'll meet in the first chapter. The tradition of a super powerful foe being introduced only to be considered weak for its rank continues, but there's also some decent worldbuilding here. I'm a fan, and hoping that this continues. I'm not sure if Klevanski considers a Spirit General and a Nameless to be at the same rank yet. There's a chance that one exceeds the other, in which case we'll learn more about the leaders of the empires. That will also provide some context for the Raven sect, as we learn something about its leader in this book that makes that context important. Overall, things are good.
I am really enjoying this story and author. The only downside is the delays as they translate the books from the original Russian. Still, book 8 has been pre-ordered and it will be a nice Christmas present to myself... enjoy. Oh, and thank you Kirill.
This is the seventh book in the series and I have to say I loved it! If you haven't read any of the other books in this series you are really missing out. The only complaint I have is I know that the author is way ahead in this series and needs more translators to get it out faster.
Though this book is originally in Russian the translation is top notch... Dec 22 seems a long way off for the next installment... Hurry with the translation guys, it's criminal to wait for soo long... Brilliant writer, get into this series asap.. U won't regret it
Really interesting plot. I enjoyed the progress the Hadjar experienced. It was interesting to see him without the same supporting cast. I am glad that there are so many books left in this series because has been a fun ride to this point.
The world building in this series gets even larger in this book with new countries and peoples, new races and monsters. Hadjar gets even stronger and the reader learns more about the Lord of Nightmares. I never want this series to end.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: please keep this series coming (and as fast as possible). This is “THE” book folks. I’ve never felt a character so strongly (like we’re linked) than when I read this book. Love the story.
This was really good. More of a standalone mini-arc within the 3rd arc, but I had more fun reading this than the book #6. Great work by the translation team on this one! It really flowed well.
This is a good series. Great characters. I would love to have a description of power lvls at the end of every book. Heaven soldier, lord lvl, grades of weapons get confusing and a reference would be nice
Enjoyed reading this book a lot. The great thing about this series is that, I know it wasn’t originally written for an English speaking audience. However, you can tell how amazing this story is by how easily it transcends language
Interesting story. Not boring. Something new happening continually. Narrator of audio book great. Pity narration not available for book ten yet. Hope books 11 to 20 will be available timely. Books and narration. Must give credit to translators as well.
Land of Demons, Book 7 of the Dragon Heart series gave us, surprise, Demons! Seriously, book 7 gave us plenty of action, character development, and the Lascanians. But best of all, were the orcs! Really fascinating orcs at that.
