Lessons in the Wild
A wilderness journey to prove the heart.
Retreating from the world and all its troubles, violinist T. Sebastian Morrow moves from Houston to rural Texas. Instead of peace and safety, he encounters tribulation in every aspect of life—domestic, financial, professional, and spiritual. His unlikely guide through the wilderness is young Leo de Graaf, a gifted and clairvoyant musician whose insights lend Sebastian clarity and strength. When tragedy strikes Leo and his beautiful mother Silvie, it is Sebastian’s fateful decision that will determine the outcome.
"I marvel at Bergin's characters, her plots, and her vigorous style. And, of course, the emphasis on music and spirituality speaks strongly to me, as it will, I expect, to many others."
~ William Gilbert, Associate Professor of English, University of Houston-Downtown"

I gave Lessons in the Wild 4 stars. This was a thoughtful and emotional story.
Sebastian Morrow, a violinist and professor, purchases land outside of Houston, Texas, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, hoping to retreat from the world and find some peace. Instead, he finds himself facing challenge after challenge—financial struggles, complicated family relationships, work issues, and spiritual questions that force him to take a hard look at his life. Along the way, he befriends Leo, a musician and clairvoyant, whose presence adds another interesting layer to the story.
What I enjoyed most about this book was its introspective nature. It is very character-driven and spends a lot of time exploring Sebastian’s inner struggles and growth. The relationship between Sebastian and Leo was especially compelling, and I appreciated how the novel blended music, spirituality, and personal healing together. The pacing was slower and reflective at times, but by the end I found myself invested in Sebastian’s journey and the lessons he learned along the way.

This isn't usually the type of book I read, but I found myself really enjoying it There's alot of spiritual awakenings, some maybe a bit far fetched. But it totally binds the whole story together. It is very well written and well described so much so that I found myself really visualising the new house in the story. Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for ARC. Opinions are my own

This took me a bit to get into, but once I got caught up in he story I was feverishly enthralled and it was hard to put down. Fascinating themes of good and evil and the forces that surround us - I would recommend this to others who want to sink themselves into a spiritual read - it gives the reader a lot to think about once they are done.
