This book was a ride. We have two best friends who realise they have feelings for each other, but a big obstacle to the two of them getting together is that Solo has a girlfriend of ten years who also happens to be Dasani's friend.
Now the thing that bugged me about this is that Solo didn't immediately end things with Ombre when he figured out his feelings. Instead he kept stringing Ombre along, all the while knowing he only wanted to be with Dasani. And I don't even like Ombre, but it wasn't fair to her.
It took him SO LONG to admit he did wrong and that was only after some things came to light...SIR YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER!!! He acted like a teenager in some scenes, I swear.
I do like how he was with Dasani though, most of the time (when they weren't arguing about Ombre, who he acted like he couldn't do anything about when he literally could). And he seems like a good father to his kid(s).
Dasani was nice and sweet, and really didn't want to get in the middle of her friends' relationship even though she kept getting dragged in. I feel so bad for her still, she didn't need to go through all of that to find happiness.
Mr Joe gets a special shout out as the most adorable grandpa around. I love him to bits.
I'm definitely going to read the next book too, maybe Sameer will be less frustrating than Solo.
