The Cupid Guild #1
The Cupid Mixup
The Montagne hotel might as well have been a castle, and he might as well have been the prince. I met him in the bar late one night and it was obvious he was too much for me — too handsome, too charming, too rich. And while I could pretend I was a princess for a night, at the stroke of midnight, I ran away without giving him my name. I didn’t leave my shoe behind, but I might have just lost my heart.
Can the Cupid Guild help this modern-day Cinderella get her second chance?
A quick, sexy, standalone romance with a paranormal touch. The story first appeared in Heart’s Kiss magazine, published as “Before I Go.”

Mini-review: Interesting little (non-queer) m/f Black romance novella - with a paranormal twist - about a woman staying at a hotel and her chance encounter with a gorgeous stranger. I don't even remember how this came across my radar but I quite enjoyed it. The ending, especially, was perfect for these two characters.
Content warnings for dying parent, history of abuse.

Cute
The story is short but fulfilling. Very very cute and sweet. Sometimes short novellas make you confused about what is happening at the first but this story flows perfectly.

Really enjoyable steamy romance in the form of a short story with a hint at a paranormal element towards the end. 18+ only.
Dealing with emotional baggage from her past, our main character meets an attractive stranger in the hotel bar and the sparks fly. Will she be able to work through the feelings of inadequacy caused by her rough past?

The match
I enjoyed this sweet short story and the way these two characters met. They meet in the hotel bar and never exchange names. But the mutual attraction was strong. It also had a touch of comedy and paranormal. I’ll be looking for more stories from this author.

Super cute, quick read. I didn't think I would get invested in the characters so quickly and once I realized there was a supernatural element with the presence of am actual cupid, I loved it. The integration was well done. Hope to be able to read the others soon.

Cute story and just what I needed
I was looking for something to take me out my depression-ish mood. Thought it sounded cute glad I read it and bought the other three as well. I know someone that’s kicking their depression-ish mood!!! This girl 😅

A quick read for me - a romance with a paranormal twist. The characters met in a hotel and hooked up, it was meant to be a one-night stand but there was a mixed-up and a touch of magic so both had a HEA.

February 10, 2023This was a cute, short Valentine novella (maybe even shorter than a novella.) A touch of magic is included with the cupid's involvement.
CW for mention of physical abuse, alcoholism, and suicide, all in the past. Even given all that, this is mostly on the lighthearted side.

Fun reading this truly mixed up short story. Don't really know what it's about but it was interesting reading what little there was.

Cute and simple
Cute and simple read. This author could do no wrong. For a short story the world building and character development was perfect. Does beg you to ask for more.

Sullivan loved L. Penelope's Song of Blood & Stone and the novella from the same series, so when I saw that L. Penelope also wrote a series of romantic short stories I wanted to give those a try.
This first one is about 53 pages and is delicious!
The heroine is down on her luck, but small meddling by a member of the Cupid Guild lands her in a hotel where she meets a man with whom she clicks. I loved seeing these two lonely people connect and fall for each other. I was rooting for them to see past their differences and give in to their attraction.
The way to their HEA/HFN isn't a straight road though, because sometimes Cupid forgets how stubborn people can be.
All in all a wonderful short romantic read. I'm definitely going to read the other shorts in this series as well.
