The devil came to me in disguise. Too bad I didn’t notice until it was far too late.

Vanessa:
The devil doesn’t always wear an evil mask.
Sometimes, he appears in the most beautiful form.
Like the super-hot bad boy with the dirty-blond hair and a wicked glint in his blue eyes who swept in out of nowhere, stealing all the air from my lungs.
I thought he was my savior.
But he’s my ruination.
And he’s just taken a machete to my heart.

Jackson:
For years, my rage seethed under the surface. Hidden behind a cloudy haze of my poison of choice.
But now, the fog has cleared.
And I’m out for blood.
I will annihilate those responsible for taking my sister from me.
Except he’s not here, so I go for the next best target.
The woman he abandoned.
Until it suited him to drag her into this messed-up elite world.
Sucks to be her.
Because when I’m done with Vanessa, she’ll wish she was dead.

An interconnected standalone dark romance set in the Rydeville High Elite world. Due to mature content and themes, this book is recommended to readers aged eighteen and over.

Long Memory, Short Fuse, Big Revenge!

The blurb positions this as an “interconnected stand alone” set in the Rydeville High Elite world. By that I know that there will be people that have been in previous books and that not all references to those people or things that happened before this book will be fully explained. I understood this going in and still decided to read this even though I haven’t read the first four books yet.

Knowing that, there are not just a few references in this book to things that happened in the past, there are a ton. Many are explained for new readers, which I liked. However, one of the main themes has to do with crimes that may or may not have happened in previous books by members of “The Elite”. The Elite is never really fully explained but seems to be one of those secret societies where the very wealthy try to run the world. Or at least their part of it and make money through selling drugs, guns and people.

The trope of the secret society of wealthy pricks is one that is done a lot in romance and lately I have seen it come up in a lot of bully romance novels. It is a good trope because it introduces mystery, suspense, and villains. However, these criminal organizations are generally very complex and have a lot of people and moving parts. So some of it is hard to drop in on when you haven’t been around since the beginning. This book is like that. A lot of bad things, and some good have happened with regard to the Elite in the previous books and not all are fully explained so I was floundering a few times. If I had a do-over or more time, I would read the first four books prior to this one.

That being said, I still really enjoyed this book. It centered around Jackson Lauder who wants revenge for the fact that his sister committed suicide. She did so because she was broken after being kidnapped, tortured and raped on an Island by a man named Christian Montgomery. Jackson and his best friend Sawyer find out that one of their old friends, Vanessa Breen, is the daughter of this man, though she lives with her mother and stepfather.

They didn’t treat Vanessa very well back when they knew her because she was a hot mess at that time. She was usually drunk and she slept with a lot of guys and was a stage five clinger. So Jackson becomes her boyfriend in order to see if she has any information on where Christian Montgomery took off to when a warrant was put out for his arrest. Jackson plays the prince charming role very well to hook Vanessa.

Vanessa has her own issues which is why she was a hot mess for a while, but since she was kicked out of her house she has become sober and independent. Jackson finds himself admiring her and starts having feelings for her but at some point he thinks she has been playing him. So he begins to bully her. I won’t go further into details because the book is actually really good and the readers should experience it all for themselves.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Jackson Lauder - the cocky bad boy with the dirty mouth, blond hair and blue eyes had the superficial clown vibes in the previous books, but underneath it all, lies a broken man with lots of pain, anger and guilt. 🔥

He's devastated by his sister's death, and after years of dulling the pain with drugs and alcohol, Jackson sobers up to get his revenge - and he doesn't care who gets hurt along the way. But the person responsible for her death is on the run and the only way to get him out of hiding is to use a bait... and Jackson has the perfect bait in mind! ❤

Vanessa Breen has always been wild. She, too, used drugs and alcohol to numb her pain - but after her stepfather threw her out of the house, she had no choice but to take control of her life - unaware that she is going to play a part in a revenge game. She thought he would be her savior, instead, she will find out he is just the opposite... 💥

Lies, revenge, dark secrets and twisted fates - will Jackson succeed in his revenge? Nessa got through hell and survived, but will she survive Jackson too...? 😱

📚 “𝗜’𝗜 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀.” 📚

Jackson was one of my favorite characters in 'Ryderville Elite' series and I couldn't wait to read his story... but I have to admit I didn't remember him being such a little piece of shit! 😂
While his motives were justified and his character developed during the plot, I was often horrified by his choices and actions... On the other hand, it's also part of his charm. ❤

This is an 'Enemies to Lovers' story with a twist (which I never saw coming) and a surprising combination of hot and sweet... sad and happy... dark and romantic. 🔥
Some of it's content was difficult for me to read, but if you read 'Ryderville Elite' series, you wont be surprised - it includes dark and twisted elements that will make you want to call for a responsible adult! 😂😂😂

📚 “𝗜’𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼, 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼. 𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁. " 📚

However, there was one thing that really bothered me: the repetition of past events. Sure, it was nice to read about characters I loved once more, and I understand the choice to make this book a stand-alone, but for those who read and know what happened in the past, it was a bit frustrating. 🙈
This book doesn't have just a few references of things that already happened... it has A LOT! At some point I just started skipping... 😬

Yet, I enjoyed this crazy plot and it's broken characters - those two fit together like puzzle pieces! So if you like dark romance books with lots of twists and secrets, this is the book for you! ❤🔥❤

The first part dragged a bit and I was pretty confused with all the side things going on. The second part was much better and I started to read faster because I wanted to know what would happen next.

Now the reason I am not giving this one 4 stars is because I really did not like the heroine much. I found her a bot too weak and needy. She really was clingy and she had no self-esteem whatsoever. Now I understand that she is this way because of her past, but still... I like the badass heroines way more. Jackson humiliated her in public, hurt her, and treated her like a whore.. and still, she all she wanted was him... I wanted him to grovel way way more. I get that he saved her. But for all he put her through.. I just wanted her to stand her ground and stand up for herself when all she did was say "really you still want to be with me... I am so happy"

Now I still enjoyed reading this one but weak low self-esteem heroines are not my thing. I am however looking forward to Sawyer's book but I do hope he will end up with only one person at the end and not two.

Since I have heard that Sawyer is involved with Xavier and Sydney .. but Sydney and Xavier are not involved with each other, shit would be weird if they ended up all three of them like that. To be honest... I hope he just ends up with Xavier... I don't get why a girl had to get between them. It will probably only make me hate her....

We shall see ...

HOLY SMOKES. I’m left speechless- tears still misting in my eyes from the surprisingly bittersweet epilogue, heart pounding, butterflies in my tummy. I knew I’d enjoy his book- I love everything Siobhan does, but I never expected to have been so ravished by it, to fall so deeply in love with my now-favorite Siobhan book boyfriend Jackson (sorry Kai and Saint!), nor to feel so profoundly moved by the story of our heroine Vanessa and the soulful, tender, cathartic romance with Jackson.

We know and love Jackson from the stories we’ve already read, but in HIS book we get Jackson 2.0. The same fun loving, snarky, charming lady killer that we all grew to adore, also the same man that we realized was masking some deep emotional baggage that he’s camouflaging with his swagger and penchant for chemically medicating his pain and rage. Here, he’s evolved- we get to see more of his substance and depth. I knew there was more to Jackson, but I had no clue just how nuanced and dynamic Jackson was beneath his sassy veneer. Holy hell- this man moves me. He’s swoon worthy and delicious in the best ways - dirty talker, sexy AF, a veritable Adonis, and I’m pretty sure he could charm on the pants off a snake. But, what really made me swoon was his heart- the little cracks of true depth we see as this story slowly chips away at his facade until this beautiful, tender yet strong man appears. His loyalty, his conviction, his protectiveness combined with a sweetness and gentleness, a delicate and raw vulnerability all worked in perfect concert to create this perfect and soulful symphony of a man. So much depth- he’s more than just a pretty boy. And when he says “ I have something to say….”- lord, hold on to your heart and your panties.

And Nessa. I tear up just thinking about how beautiful of a spirit she is- what a revelation she was for me. I was not prepared to love, admire, and relate to this complex heroine nor for her to be my favorite SB woman. Like so many of us, she just wants to matter to someone, to be worthy of selfless love. To find some real connection in a sea of half truths. She wants to be seen- her pain and survival to be valued. This Nessa is nothing like the party girl Vanessa we had heard about and thought we knew- and even what we DO know about her has been completely misunderstood. We see that she’s sweet and caring, devoted and spirited. She’s also hurt and lost, insecure and tentative. But, at her core, she’s a fighter- not just for herself, but for those she loves, for what is right. I don’t just love her- I FLOVE HER. This says a lot, but I think she’s been through the ringer more than any other SD heroine-she’s broken by it, but not yet shattered. She’s resilient and even after all the harm she’s experienced from this f’ed up Elite world around her, she somehow still unflinchingly opens her heart to someone she knows can, and will, break it- she still has hope at her core. She left me feeling raw and exposed- moved and inspired by her bravery.

And them and a couple- O..MY.GOD. The connection between Jackson and Nessa is emotional, the chemistry explosive. Both characters are coping in harmful ways to try to survive and numb their personal adversity, both have trapped themselves in the protective armour of the allusions they’ve created about themselves so they can protect the truths- that they are hurting, that they are lost, that they are angry and sad. And, both find each other when they are both fighting to shift their lives- each figuring out who they are as adults and people outside of the painful histories that they’ve allowed to define them. And that leads to some earth shattering romance- yes, all the good steam, but even more so it was like watching two perfectly matched souls collide and then slowly weave themselves together thread by delicate thread. Their relationship feels natural and authentic as they become partners, as their love for each other reshapes what they thought was their purpose and helps them heal the pain that has consumed them both. Siobhan’s writing approach here was also nothing short of inspired- the first ½ of the book is intimate and slower paced, mostly one-on-one, with our leads mostly isolated from the pack- which really helps us swim around in this powerful connection before we get too deep into the intrigue and makes the drama to come that much more impactful.

And oh my- I have missed the Rydeville Elite world. Side by side with this touching, vibrant, and dynamic love story we have the seedy drama from the nefarious Elite. We get the page turning action and twists, the “just in time to save” the day moments that keep my heart pounding, and we get this kooky and endearing motley crue of Rydeville couples (and future couples) that have become this intense and functional family who support and protect other. I LOVE this crew- and I’m so glad we get time with each of them. Also- Sawyer REALLY shows up in this story in a fantastic way- and now I can’t wait for what is next from him.

Has this just become my favorite Siobhan story of all time?! This woman consistently rocks me- brings new and exciting characters and heart pounding stories into my life, but Jackson is truly spectacular- a story that I’m still left thinking, still left FEELING in my heart and soul days later. My words will never do it justice, so just pick it up and find out for yourself- you’ll find that the story of Jackson and Vanessa is surprising and shattering, beautiful and sweet- Siobhan, you continue to amaze me, but you've shattered and rebuilt my heart with this epic tale of two individuals recovering from their pain while also discovering themselves in their love for each other. I LOVE THIS STORY SO MUCH. I can’t wait to see what is in store next!

Jackson's book has been on my most anticipated list for so long! I was looking forward to this book as soon as I read Sweet Retributionand to say that this book satisfied my appetite would be a huge understatement.

I freaking loved it!

Jackson was one of my favorite characters from the Rydeville Elite Series and when I got to know that he's going to get his own book, I was very much excited for it! However, given the glimpse of his personality in the previous books I was a bit nervous about Vanessa being his heroine who I believe is also introduced in a short scene in Ruse.

Both of them reeked of a destructive past and I was looking forward to see how Siobhan would weave her magic to bring them together. And she didn't disappoint me.!

Jackson is devastated by the death of his sister, Dani, who took her own life. After years of numbing his pain and finding refuge in the bottom of a bottle and weed, he is finally sober and ready to extract revenge from the driving force which played a vital role in his sister's suicide. However, the person is on the run after everything went down with the Elite business earlier mentioned in the previous books. The only way is to draw the person out of his hiding place and lookie... Jackson found a perfect bait!

Vanessa Breen has always been a wild spirit. Years of alcohol and drug abuse decorate her résumé but when her stepfather throws her out, she decides it's high time to turn a new leaf. Living a peaceful life in New York, she is unaware of the role she is going to play in someone's vendetta.

I have always said that I love Siobhan's book for the amazing storyline and this book packed it in heaps. That being said, I was a bit appalled by Jackson's character. I didn't know he had that level of asshole in him. Although he redeemed himself later and most of his actions could be justified by the plot, I cannot shake the feeling that he could've been a little (just a teeny-tiny bit) more considerate towards Vanessa's feelings.

Since the story is divided into two parts, it was easier to rate it individually.
Part 1- 3 stars🌟🌟🌟
Part 2- 4.5 stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌠

Overall rating - 4 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Be warned of the triggers - Themes of statuary rape, murder (gruesome kind), sex slavery is portrayed. Mild alcohol abuse and threat of incest rape also mentioned. If you've read the first four books, you know what I'm talking about.

Desperately waiting for Drew's book. I've got a feeling that it will be epic!!

Once again, Siobhan Davis digs deep, pulls up all of the darkness, passion and angst while creating characters so fractured, you wonder if anything is strong enough to put them back together, including the truth told by the heart.

JACKSON is the perfect hate to love story that puts readers on a collision course with deceit, brutality, love and redemption! Nothing is held back, as past nightmares come alive to haunt two people whose lives were shattered. Prepare to love, to hate and to wish for some light to shine in a world blackened by corruption.

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Siobhan Davis! This is my honest and voluntary review.

The Rydeville Elite series has been an addicting rollercoaster ride from the beginning. I have been waiting for Jackson's book forever and seriously could not wait to see him brought to his knees! For that reason, this book was an addicting read from the get go. It was filled with secrets, assumptions and ulterior motives that had me flipping pages like a mad woman.

While this book is a standalone, there is some overlap with the previous four books in the series, so I would recommend reading those first. Jackson and Nessa were so sexy together. Their chemistry was combustible and while I didn't love the revenge game that Jackson was playing, I couldn't help but want to find out the truth.

Overall, this story was compelling and the storyline was great. I loved how Nessa made Jackson feel despite the games being played and how their emotional connection developed amidst all the secrets and lies. Now I can't wait for more! 4 stars! ~Ratula

2 stars for a book that requires numerous trigger warnings.

I really struggled between 2 or 3 stars for this book. Siobhan Davis has a writing style that completely captivates you. Her stories also lean toward darker themes, so if that's your jam, then she's the lady for you. But the thing is, writing decently doesn't erase the numerous issues that came up in this book.

Jackson hasn't dealt w. the death of his sister in years. It's consuming him and all he has on his mind is revenge. The only person he can take it out on is a girl he knew in his youth.

Vanessa is a girl who was dealt a shitty hand in life and comforted herself w. booze, drugs, and sex for years. She's just trying to get her life back together when Jackson and his wiles make a come back.

problems, upon problems「possible spoilers」
→ Jackson is disgusting. There's nothing redeemable about a rich brat w. issues a mile long, who takes it out on someone w.out actual evidence of them being guilty.
→ SD uses these dark nefarious plots in excess. You can write a dark book w.out it being gratuitous.
→ Vanessa was weak. Not bc of what she's been through, but bc SD wrote her as a girl who's finally doing better just to have Jackson ruin it. THEN when she should make him grovel (or tell him to eat shit), SD has Vanessa forgive him way too soon.
→ Character development?????
→ Sex as coping mechanism is not okay. Especially when SD wrote a character that has been through horrible brutalities.
→ If someone gave me an orgasm and said it was "the Jackson Lauder experience" I would regret every fucking moment. C'mon SD... That shit is obnoxious and weird.
→ I'm down for polygamy in books, but it's so obvious that SD inserted Jackson's parents open relationship to foreshadow Sawyer.

━ It's a decent book bc SD can write, regardless of the issues. It's just that her writing is a hot fucking mess. Will that stop me from reading more of her stuff? Probably not since I'm hoping Drew & Shandra get a book. But it doesn't mean I won't be more critical.

This book is one of my favorites from The Rydeville Elite series!

I absolutely loved Jackson’s story. I was happy for him to finally get his own story. He dealt with so much and harbored so much pain and anger that when he finally found someone good for him I was ecstatic!

I loved Vanessa and felt so many emotions for her and what she endured. She was truly amazing in how she made an effort and was successful at taking her life into her own hands. I really admired her and was rooting for her throughout the story!

Jackson wants revenge. He’s been waiting for the perfect time. The time is now.

When Jackson’s sister Dani died, it wrecked him. He spiraled into drugs, alcohol and women. It took a friend to give him a wake up call. He gave up the booze and the drugs and now he’s going after the men who ruined his sister.

Vanessa is part of Jackson’s plan. They knew one another from high school and summer’s in the Hampton’s. She was a wild, party girl who always wanted Jackson, but he turned her down. Now he’s determined to make her love him, so he can get close to her and find the man he’s been searching for.

She’s not the same girl that he remembers. She’s was forced to start a new life on her own. Vanessa has given up the party life. Now she works and she just wants her past to stay far away.

When Jackson shows an interest in her and starts his pursuit, she’s definitely leery of him. Jackson wasn’t ready for Vanessa. She was just supposed to be a means to an end. Neither expected their hearts to become involved.

These two both carry pain. Jackson had no idea how much Vanessa had suffered. She is a fighter and a survivor. However, the world of the elite is cruel. It’s a tangled web of deceit and twisted agendas. She’ll have to learn the truth or she’ll be dragged into that world. Jackson wanted to fight these evil men on his own, but he’ll need help. His friends would do anything for him, but he’ll have to tell them everything, including Vanessa, to get what he’s after.

Jackson knows how to make a girl fall for him and Vanessa was not immune. They definitely had chemistry. Their attraction built as they spent more time together. The tension was hotttt! Both of them were a little bit broken, but together they were able to heal their pain. It’s a dark road they’ll travel. Vanessa will be introduced to the world of the wealthy and morally bankrupt. The next generation of the elite are formidable. The tables are turning. Their’s new blood taking their rightful place in the elite and they want change. It won’t come easy. Blood will be shed, some of evil will be eliminated but there is more work to be done.

A dark, romantic suspense that will have you hot and bothered one minute and keep you on the edge of your seat the next. The series delivers an intriguing a storyline and characters that keep you coming back for more.

“So, why are you scared?” “I’m scared of feeling, and you, Jackson Lauder, have the potential to make me feel all kinds of feels.”

Ok well shit, this book left me feeling all kinds of feels and after a decent sleep I’m still not sure where to begin!

From the first moment of reading the Rydeville Elite series I knew Jackson was going to be one of my favourites. I do hold a soft spot for the class clown and their humour always pushes them to top spot for me, so when I found out my boy was getting his own book?!? Uh I just knew I’d love it.

This book is about Jackson’s quest for revenge. There are times where I wanted to slap him silly for being so one-track-minded but we can’t blame him because this is all he knew! His revenge had been his sole focus for years, until he meets Vanessa, and then he needs to find the balance of getting his revenge and going after the girl we all knew he obviously loved!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Nessa’s character but she surprised me so much and I absolutely loved her. I don’t think I’ve ever read about a character who has been handed shit pile after shit pile and still come out on top. After everything she has been through she deserves to fall off the wagon and spiral into an uncontrollable depression but after one night changes her circumstances, she proves that she is the best kind of fighter. Someone who fights to live.

I really didn’t know what direction the storyline would go in after reading the other books but it worked perfectly. There was so much drama and angst and the most beautiful love.

I also adored the fact that we met some of Siobhan’s other characters in this book! The way all of the books connected into one worked perfectly and I adored the extra time we got with these characters.

4.5*

Jackson is book 5 in the Rydeville series and not to be missed!

Ever since reading about Jackson in the previous books I was waiting to see which girl would make him fall to his knees and I wasn’t disappointed by Vanessa. She was naive at times and I was dying to slap her up the head on a couple of occasions. Apart from that I really enjoyed Jackson and anyone who is a fan of this series will eat this book up.

A tale of revenge, ups and downs, push and pull that will have you flipping those pages and hungry to find out what is going to happen. Will Jackson go through with his plan, will the softer side of him surface?

Read Jackson to find out, it releases tomorrow!

Audiobook review. 3.5 STARS. When I first started listening to this I had no clue what I was getting into. I hadn’t read this series before but it peaked my interest. Just when I thought I had this ‘world’ figured out, something seemingly comes out of left field and makes the story more interesting. While this wasn’t an immediate hook for me, once it did hook, I was really invested in understanding more about Vanessa and Jackson.

I liked Vanessa a lot. She definitely experienced the most on page growth. She was dynamic and her faults made her all the more relatable. Jackson was a little more difficult to peg and while he was undeniably sexy he was definitely frustrating many times over. The plot got really interesting towards the middle but the resolution to a major part of the conflict and the forgiveness and portion came relatively too soon.

Sarah Puckett and Jay Alder did a good job with these characters. Their narration brought life to the protagonists. Their tone, pitch, and inflections were on point. I’ll probably end up going back to the beginning of the series to see how the over arching plot started and progressed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

OH MY GOD!! I think Jackson is my favourite book out of the Ryderville Elite series yet!! I loved Jackson, even though he could be stubborn and an asshole and I loved Vanessa.

I don’t usually get emotional whilst reading books, but I’ll admit I cried a few times whilst reading Jackson. My stomach was in a constant knot, my heart felt like it was splintering apart and I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time. Although sometimes I love a good dark romance, this series is truly something else, the world that Siobhan has created is so incredibly in depth and draws you in and holds you captive. Although there is horrific and traumatic scenes and memories throughout the book, everything is so well written you can’t help but keep reading to get to the happy ending.

Vanessa is so so so strong. She has endured so much pain and suffering in her life I’m amazed she is still going, I know I sure wouldn’t be. Her strength and bravery was inspiring and I was in awe of her. I loved the friends and family, they are so close knit, supportive and would do anything to support each other.

Jackson, god he is so fixated on revenge for his sister that he will do anything to avenge her, even if it means hurting an innocent girl in the process. I was so frustrated with him and his assumptions about Vanessa, but my heart softened for him when he got to know her and develops feelings for her. One thing I admired about Jackson is his determination to show Vanessa his feelings, he didn’t just use words, he showed her every moment how much he loved her, cherished and adored her.

I love this series, although I did cringe and have to rage at my husband a couple of times throughout. I love the plot, the characters, the soul deep connections and relationships and the writing is exquisite. Just when you think the series cannot get anymore twisted or depraved, Siobhan hits you with this! Fantastic addition to the series and I cannot wait to read Sawyer’s story next. I have been dying to get to know Xavier!

I am so excited to read Sawyer and Xavier’s story next.

Five "loved it" stars!

She's done it again! The thing I love about this author is that she always surprises me. This genre is riddled with novels that are very similar to one another, but Siobhan Davis books stand apart. She consistently pushes the envelope. Shocks me. Renders me speechless. With each book I think the villains can't possibly be more evil. More depraved. But she always finds a way. And I can't get enough!

I was highly anticipating Jackson's book after reading the Rydeville Elite trilogy and Charlie. Jackson is just his own force of both charisma and sexual energy, and I couldn't WAIT for him to get all of the attention.

And man... he delivered. There were some parts of this book where I genuinely couldn't figure out how the author was going to get my beloved Jackson back into my good graces. Folks, he was a nightmare for a while there. But fear not- she turned him around!

I love this world, and this author's books. She just kills it, every time.

Jackson is the fifth book in the Rydeville Elite series, but the second inter-connected standalone. You don't need to read the previous books, however, I would highly recommend that you do to get a better all-around feel for these characters and second characters. Siobhan does try her best to do a quick synopsis on certain things to help understand parts of the plot, but it is a lot to summarize and wholly understand.

This book surrounds Jackson Lauder and his urgency to exact revenge on those who caused his sister's suicide years ago; the very men who are the founding fathers of the Elite organization. And he'll do whatever is necessary to see those who caused her harm, pay the price. And that includes seducing an old acquaintance.

Jackson and Vanessa partied in the same circles when they were starting out in high school. However, they were never what you consider as friends. They were both big drinkers, dabbled in drugs and were quite promiscuous. But now that they are older, they realize they both did not act in the best ways and are trying to start over.

I won't go into details about either of their pasts beyond that because it's their pasts that shape things in this book and prompt things to happen. The blurb explains that Jackson will be using Vanessa for his own personal revenge and that's all you need to know.

Siobhan plays this plot out well and with lots of twists and turns. Just when you think you know how things are going to play out, there is another surprise thrown into the plot line. And it's not an out of nowhere surprise that doesn't make sense, but it's one that takes the plot even deeper and has the reader pondering what happens next.

There are a lot of previous characters mentioned in this book, which is a necessity. As I said earlier, Siobhan does her best to keep new readers abreast on how everyone and everything interconnects and not become too overwhelming. This series is very addicting and I feel with these new standalones, Siobhan keeps things interesting while keeping Elite organization just as enticing as they were in the first book.

There are also characters from another series that are mentioned. I love that she has found a way to inter-connect another series with this one without taking away from either one. If anything, it will make new readers want to read that other series (Kennedy Boys).

I cannot wait to see what Siobhan brings us next.

Another book in the Rydeville Elite series, and I happily devoured it. Jackson is not your typical bully...he's got a whole plan worked out and he's not vindictive, he's just hurting and not grieving in the proper way.
Enter Nessa, little does Jackson know but she's hurting from her own troubles and has no idea how much worse it's about to get, or that her troubles from before all circle back to what's about to happen now.
It's such good writing when an author can make you truly loathe a person. There are some very graphic scenes regarding the deaths of some characters and rather than being turned off or grossed out, I was thinking "YES!" These men deserved it that much.
One of the things I loved most about this story, is how Jackson's friends saw that he was wrong and rallied around Nessa even though some of them had only just met her. It shows what good people these characters truly are, even though we've seen some nastier sides to some of them. I love seeing Abby and Kai more and I love the teasers we get into possible future stories with Drew and Sawyer. As I probably always will, I loved seeing some of the Kennedys throughout this book as well. I'm so incredibly happy with how the characters between the two series end up crossing paths and working together, but especially in this book.
We do not get a typical cliffhanger at the end of this book. Jackson and Nessa's story is fairly neatly wrapped up, though it's obvious we will likely see them again in other books. I liked to view into what's going on with Sawyer and what we might see in his book.
If you like bully romance, or just are a fan of Davis' work, I encourage you to read this series. If you've already started, you're going to want to pick this up immediately!

*I was honored with an advanced copy of this book, which I voluntarily reviewed.*

This book was AMAZING. WOW. Every book by this author seems to get better and better than the last! I thought Kai was my favorite man but I think that spot is now reserved for Jackson! He was SO intense! Nobody could dare THINK about his Nessa or else they would see the beast come out. He surprised me with how fast he fell for her and how he basically said "I dont care about what my intentions were, this woman is mine".
Vanessa was a perfect heroine. She had gone through SO MUCH in her life. SO MUCH. I have tears in my eyes writing this just thinking about all she had went through and how people actually go through these things on a daily basis. This author does such a superb, fantastic job making the hard and difficult parts of the book so life like and believable. She does not water down anything. My heart just soared with this couple. I am always so impressed with this author and there isnt anything she cannot write. --I also LOVED Sawyer and Xavier! I absolutely adored them so much and I am SO SO SO anxious and excited for their crazy love story!!! 5 star book for a 5 star author.

Just when I think I can’t love Jackson any more, Siobhan Davis gives him his own book. It was nice learning more about what makes him tick and why the past haunts him so much. Nessa is a strong heroine who has overcome so much. I loved everything about this book and can’t wait for Sawyer’s story!

Siobhan Davis delivers another amazing book with Jackson. She takes us on an emotional, gritty rollercoaster of a ride.

Jackson and Vanessa were a perfect per. Their story was heartbreaking, and messy, it was dark and twisted. They are two broken people who came together to make one strong. whole person. Where Jackson was broody, dark and angry Vanessa was broken, sad, and lonely. Jackson was planning his revenge and Vanessa was trying to make a new life for herself. My heart broke for both of them. Jackson for his sister and Vanessa for the innocence she lost and the horrible things she had to endure. She had to go through things no one should ever have to.

Siobhan Davis gave us another amazing story in the Rydeville Elite Series. Everything about Jackson was just perfect. The plot, the characters, both old and new, and her writing was just flawless. She had me addicted and hooked to this book with her writing. I was crying for Vanessa and Jackson both while reading this book.

Jackson is a must read for anyone who loves dark romance. Jackson and Vanessa's journey is dark, twisted, heartbreaking and messy. 5 stars for Davis and Jackson! I cannot wait to see what she gives us next.

Oh!! Holy Hells Yes!! This book, my friends!! This AMAZINGLY PHENOMENAL Book was exactly what I thought it would be and then SO MUCH MORE . I just knew Siobhan was gonna slay Jackson’s book. TBH I have been salivating for him since day.freakin.one when I met him back in Cruel Intentions. I am mentally spent after this book, though in the best possible way. This is the best kind of book hangover, y’all! I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I swore. It was a marathon of emotions. One that I would gladly run again and again. (I tend to do re-reads of the Rydeville Elite Series b/c It’s so damn addictive)

Jackson’s character is legit everything I knew he was gonna be multiplied by 1000! From the beginning he had a mission, a goal and nothing was gonna deter him from that. He was ruthless, a jerk, gorgeously hot, but he was also caring as well. He has a big heart, he just tries to hide that fact. We’ve all loved the playful playboy since day one, but here we get to see a different side with this more adult version of Jackson. I think we all knew it was gonna take one heck of a girl to bring that boy to his knees and Vanessa “Nessa” sure is the one to do it.
Jackson - AN
She was smokin hot, sweet, but she was so strong. The resilience in this character, y’all. It makes me tear up just thinking about it. In many ways she was broken, but not beyond repair. The strength she showed about how rise from the ashes was inspiring. My heart broke over and over again. I wanted for her to get everything good in this world and I wanted Jackson to give it to her. But I wasn’t sure if it was possible, they had so much working against them.

Now, with that said… Their journey was by no means an easy one. But it was a tragically beautiful one. Their connection was spectacular and off the charts of the “meant to be scale.” I felt like she brought out the best parts of Jackson, and he was able to give her all the things she was missing in her life. Not necessarily just monetary things but the things that truly matter. GAH! This story gutted me, before it put me back together. But I loved every single second. That’s not to say I didn’t have several moments of wanting to bash my kindle over the heads of several characters at many different times. But... I was obsessed with every word on every page, from start to finish! It.was.that.fantastic!!
Nessa and Jackson’s story is one for the books and MUST not be missed!

My Cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up :
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐️-EVERYTHING!Jackson’s book was it. Everything I was yes and So.Much.More! Their spectacular journey has it all. Love, lies, suspense, thrills, so much heat, forgiveness, and all your favorites back together again! YES PLEASE! 🖤♥️🖤♥️
🔥🔥🔥🔥- I'm not sure there are adequate words to describe the level of hotness the book is. Message and Jackson are next level. Siobhan writes these sexy scenes full of such delicious details you legit feel like you are there, almost as a voyeur. It’s beyond hot and makes for a super smokin read!
🌪Cliffhanger Warning🌪- I AM IN LOVE WITH THE ENDING!! 😍😍
🔫 Trigger Warning-This book is a Bully/Gang romance and does have some violent scenes, and scenes that discuss disturbing memories for one of our characters that could be considered triggers for some. If you have concerns you can PM for more information.

Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

When you read a book in the Rydeville High series by Siobhan Davis, you need to prepare yourself. While her heroines are the power of her story, violence and debauchery are heaped on them in almost terrifying ways. In real life, no one would look twice at the moments that Davis carefully crafts in her stories. Yet, in fiction, we can become entranced by it because, while horrifying, there is beauty in its ability to drive her heroes and heroines together.

In the first three books of this series, there is a standout character, Jackson. He is charismatic in a way that her other characters aren’t. While charming and crass, he also carries the weight of his sister’s death on his shoulders, and it lends a depth to him that, on the outside, seems surprising. When Davis announced his book, I preordered it quickly because that gravity of spirit intrigues me. And so...when I read an early copy of it, I jumped in feet first and ran.

For me, Jackson is my favorite Siobhan Davis book to date. The reasons are simple:

The heroine of Jackson, Vanessa, is different from her other heroines in that there is a sensitivity you don’t find in Abby or her heroine in her Sainthood series. She’s fragile because her past is horrifying. Yet, she’s learned to build strength with walls that surround her. I appreciate this combination, which makes her my favorite Davis heroine along with Selena Kennedy.
While this Jackson is still seemingly carefree and charismatic, he is also broody and troubled. His focus is revenge, and he makes decisions that will both entrance you and frustrate you. While he’s fairly good at reading Cam and Sawyer, he is horrible with self-reflection. However, the complication of personality in him makes this book better than her other Rydeville High and Sainthood stories. There is more to Jackson than we are allowed to see in the initial trilogy, and it’s exciting as Davis offers you more of his story.
As she does so well, Davis throws every situation at you in her stories, and it compels you forward and keeps you wrapped in the story. I think that’s one of the reasons she is so successful. Every moment of the book reveals a new trap, a new entanglement, a new need for the hero to rescue the heroine from almost certain death or degradation. You turn the page because you need to know that, in this case, Jackson will save Vanessa from certain doom. The story is multi-layered and debauched. Every time a new Rydeville High book comes out, I hope that the organization is finally overthrown, so the abuse and violence end. That is why I jump feet first into her books. And Jackson offers up all these great qualities in ways that I didn’t feel in the last four books.
Siobhan Davis is a master of universe hopping. This makes for an exciting read because characters you’ve fallen for in past books find space in Jackson. The Kennedys are here; a character from the Sainthood world is here, and of course, the rest of the crew from the other Rydeville High books. While we aren’t privy to all of their storylines, we are connected back to the ghosts of them in Jackson. I love when authors remind us of their other books and characters and craft a bigger world than just the one that exists in the present. Jackson does this well; now, I’m hoping we get Drew’s story because there is MUCH to be unpacked there.

Siobhan Davis’s brand of romance, quite honestly, might make you flinch and grit your teeth as her heroines must endure much. Yet, there is always the promise of retribution and happy endings. The journey there is a wild one, keeping you enrapt until the last word. Jackson, in my opinion, is one of her bests because we realize that her hero is more than the smiling, joking playboy. Her heroine, Vanessa, brings out the depths of Jackson, showing us that, deep down, he is one of the “good guys.”

Oh. Emm. Gee! Jackson was fantastic! I was stoked to get my hands on the latest Ryderville Elite book and after waiting what felt like forever, Jackson hit my kindle! I was hooked from the start! Jackson is angsty, heartbreaking, smoking hot, and everything that I love about a Siobhan Davis book!

Bitterness is a difficult pill to swallow and in Jackson’s case, he refuses! What he wants more than anything is revenge and he is willing to get it at any cost, even if it means his heart!

The world of the Ryderville Elite just got a whole lot more sinister and you will need to prepare yourself for this epic story! Jackson is a standalone set in the Ryderville Elite world. And while technically it's written to be read independently, I would highly recommend starting the Ryderville books with Cruel Intention (and subsequently following that with Twisted Betrayal and Sweet Retribution) to fully grasp Jackson's story and his character arc.

Jackson is a duel POV dark, fake-relationship, suspenseful second chance romance. You will fall head over heels for the bad boy (Jackson) because underneath his dark demeanor lies a man who is lost and lonely! He can be cruel and cunning but he’s full of so much emotion you can’t help but feel for him! Vanessa is the definition of a strong female! She’s been through so much more than a girl should but she still has a heart of gold! She pushes on and fights for not only the respect she deserves but also for love! Jackson’s and Vanessa’s story will rip you apart, have you crying ALL the tears but in the end, (as Siobhan loves to do), she will restore hope and put you back together! One-click this outstanding addition to the Ryderville Elite series immediately!

Jackson is book 5 in the Rydeville Elite series and is a standalone with in the series. Having said that I would recommend reading the previous 4 books so you get a feel of Jackson and the world he lives in.

"The devil came to me in disguise. Too bad I didn't notice until it was far too late."

I knew I was going to fall in love with Jackson Lauder hard, I loved him in the previous books but now I LOVED him, he is one of my most favourite characters Siobhan has written to date. In the previous books he was a bit of a mystery to me, he interacted enough to be intrigued, but in this book you get the full impact of who Jackson Lauder is and what plagues him. Vanessa is the girl who steals Jacksons heart, he sees her for who she really is and not for the mistakes she's made in the past. They're both not with out their own issues but it's together that they work through all the deep emotional scars they have.

Jackson is such an emotional rollercoaster, it's self discovery, over coming past decisions with the right person by your side, you can achieve anything. It's also got my favourite thing revenge, who doesn't love some good ol' revenge.
This book is now my favourite in the series, but I haven't read Sawyer's book yet so things might change lol....

Siobhan does it again! Another five-star read in the Rydeville world with steaming hot romance and evil Elite monsters. Don’t make any plans because you’ll be too busy hanging with Jackson and Vanessa while they band together with their fun and quirky friends to take on the despicable members of the Elite.

If you haven’t read the first in series, Cruel Intentions, I highly recommend starting with that one just so you can have more of an appreciation for Jackson. His transformation throughout the series is so powerful and totally worth the time to start with Abby’s story. I also think you’ll want a better understanding of the Elite in order to appreciate Jackson and the gang’s hunger for revenge.

For those of you who are familiar with the series, we get even more Sawyer in this one, and Siobhan’s teasers for his book will leave you dying for more. I can’t freaking wait for his story! You’re going to fall in love with Vanessa along with Jackson, and go ahead and read Ruse to get a glimpse into Vanessa’s old life. You won’t be sorry!

I received a copy and volunteered to review it.

Well my day went to the pits real fast! The second I started Jackson I should’ve known I wouldn’t get a single thing done because I didn’t! From the first word to the last I was consumed!

Vanessa and Jackson’s story is one that will test you, try you and at its best; CHANGE YOU ENTIRELY! I cried, I laughed and may have thrown my phone but I always came back to their story because you just can’t get enough of this group! I loved seeing the crew again because even at their worst they are always the best! My gosh though Jackson when he’s wounded can take being spiteful to a whole other level but even then you could feel the pain he carried! He had a weight on his shoulders and it was beautiful to see him finally find someone to share that with! Jackson and Vanessa balanced one another out beautifully and I loved to see them grow not only individually but even as a couple! My mind is reeling though and sawyers book is one I can’t wait to read because again you just can’t ever get enough of this group!
