He wants a Daddy to call his own, a Daddy to take care of him.
A visit to Lock and Key, a club in the heart of the city, shows Dayton what he needs, what he’s been searching for and leads him on a path of self-discovery and Master Zachary. Watching Dayton navigate the club and its patrons, Zachary knows he needs to meet the young man. Older, caring, and more experienced, Zach is perfect for Dayton.
Zach guides Dayton, teaching him what it means to be a little. As their relationship deepens and becomes more than Daddy/little, Zach tries to hold part of his heart back, protecting himself from potential pain.
A conversation and a face from the past threaten their growing relationship. Can they make amends, or is their relationship over?
Finding His Daddy is a standalone slow burn MM Romance, with daddy kink, an age-gap, a caring Daddy, a boy finding his way, mild D/s play, and lots of sexy times.
What can I say about me? I have two boys who keep me on my toes and a cat who adopted us. She walked in one day and hasn’t left. We might be getting a dog too. Who knows?
I love to read about men in love. Flawed, but strong men, who need some TLC and find their happy ending. I love to write about those same type of men too, sometimes with added kink! I also love to read horrors, thrillers and crime novels.
When I’m not trying to keep my boys in line, or writing about hot sexy men, I like to work on my allotment. I also like to read, to take walks in the countryside, and visit historical places. Recently, we went to Stonehenge and Avebury. It was an amazing experience.
Awesomely and thoroughly developed story. For my pleasure a bit too slow, I understood the necessity of it but I was impatient. The reward for waiting was more than great!
Day finally admitted to himself what he really needs and wants out of a relationship. One of the things is he has a little inside who needs to be pampered. After some research, he attends to the Lock and Key BDSM club. There he meets one of the co-owners Zach, a Daddy Dom. Zach shows him around and they agreed to meet up again. Day doesn’t know much about the scene and Zach wants to help. To find his way he has a lot of fears to face. Zach is smitten by Day, after losing his previous boy he wants to take it slow. Too slow?
Lovely story, lots of delightful scenes. The struggle felt plausible, I think everything did. The slow burn was necessary but killing. I have to confess my heart didn’t beat faster, the mc’s were sweet but they felt a bit at distance. Still a very enjoyable read. The secondary characters had a good place in this story. Overall a slow-paced, entertainingly well developed, and dedicated written story.
I gave it a try, but this kink is really, REALLY not for me. I like the Daddy/boy trope when it's about two adults playing with control and care, but age play between a Daddy and a little - with grown men sitting in high chairs and drinking from sippy cups - just freaks me the hell out. If it turns your crank, that's cool, but it's just not for me.
Also, there were a LOT of typos and missing words in this book. PLEASE invest in a proofreader, Megs. PLEASE.
After not finding what he needs in a traditional relationship, Dayton joins lock & key, a BDSM club owned by Zach and 2 friends.
There, he is most drawn to the Daddy/boy scenes, and it unlocks a need he’s kept hidden.
I love how Zach is so patient with him and let’s him try new things at his own pace. I also love that they are pretty good at communicating, well, until they aren’t. Which was the big downside of the book.
This is one of my favorite tropes which is a double edged sword because it might make me more critical when it goes all wrong.
This book was uneven. The Daddy and Little relationship felt a bit forced and was a bit off. The character development needed more work too. It seems like we got just perfunctory details of locations and character traits. As a result, the characters seemed very shallow and cardboard cut out-like.
I’m not sure if this author uses beta readers but there are inconsistencies as well. Like Zach says he doesn’t share his subs but with his previous boy Eddie he did share him. Hmm. Ok.
AND Zach OWNS a kink club but gives his boy NO rules or safe word like WTF. That’s a big fat no.
So many flaws it hurts as a fan of Daddy kink. 1 star ⭐️ unfortunately because I had high hopes for this book and series.
Day is a new sub looking for a Daddy Dom. He joins a club in the hopes of finding him. He meets Daddy Dom Zachary. Zachary is great with Day. Letting Day become comfortable with his needs and wants. Easing Day into the things he wants. A sweet, sexy daddy Dom relationship story. I look forward to more of this series.
This was a good story. The plot was easy. The MCs were clear in who they were and what they wanted. I found the sex to be quite vanilla between.
Day wants a Daddy Dom. He is very clear about what he wants and his ex helped him in achieving that goal. He goes to intro night at the club and meets a couple of the owners. His struggle is real in now that he has want what he has wanted for so long how does he embrace that?
Zachary is one of three owners of the club Lock & Key. These 3 Doms have put together a safe place where there is no judgement of what your wants and needs are. The first night Day meets Zach after having an encounter with another member Zach decides he's the one.
They have a close circle of friends through Zach and some curious friends through Day. Day's mother is the scene stealer. That character is off the chain and I thoroughly enjoyed her. This books covers fears, rejection, love and the miscommunications that come when it all happens so fast. It is a reminder that rules are in place for a reason.
I think the most interesting story is yet to come and that is Rain and Gabriel.
This ARC was provided to me for my honest opinion.
Day’s inner struggles to come to grips with what he wanted and surrendering to it was written realistically and very well. He was hesitant to open the door and explore and sometimes needed a nudge, reassurance or comfort to relax enough to let go.
Zachary was patient and I liked how he took the time to make Day feel comfortable. He was observant; always cataloguing what his boy liked and how he responded to the scenes he saw.
Day’s mum made me laugh especially, when she started asking about the BDSM stuff.
Good read; a little slow at times and quite repetitive in places but I enjoyed it.
*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*
This was a nice story. Dayton is a shy new boy and is grateful for Zach's guidance. I loved how patient Zach is with Dayton and that he allows him to go at his own pace. They are just too sweet together.
I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.
Finding His Daddy is the first book in the Daddy-licious series by Megs Pritchard. It was my first book by this author and I loved it.
This book is about Dayton 'Day' who really wants a Daddy to call his own. A visit to Lock and Key, a club, is the beginning of his search. There he meets master Zachary. Zach is a Daddy dom and can he be the Daddy for Day?
I really loved their story. It was very well written and can't wait for the next book in this series.
Honestly ? This is badly written. The dialogues are sooo awkward, some things in the story didn’t make much sense and the smut wasn’t written well. It felt rushed and akward. But I still want to read the next one because I really like rain and I want to know what happens next 😭😭💀
Finding His Daddy is the first book in The Daddy-Licious series by author Megs Pritchard. I really loved this intro to this series. I feel the story is dynamic and full of emotion, plus I feel there is more to read in a future book as well. Dayton or Day, he has become a member of the club Lock and Key. He wants a Dom of his own, but he is not sure exactly what he is looking for. He knows a Daddy Dom is what he is looking for, but he has no idea beyond that. I liked his bravery. He is willing to explore things and knows to set limits when he does not want to do something. I liked that blend of strength and vulnerability in him. Master Zackery is fascinated by Day from the first time he sees him. He has no idea how many emotions being with Day brings out with in him. He has baggage from the past that Day helps him get through as well. I really liked all the dimension this character has. Overall a great introduction to the series. I loved the club Lock and Key I cannot wait to read more about it in the future. This is a great story with characters I want to see in future books.
"Finding His Daddy" is the first volume of the interesting and promising "Daddy-licious" series by Megs Pritchard, which focuses on a well-presented topic of discovering your own needs, specifying them, checking and testing, when you already have some suspicions concerning your kinks. And that's what I liked about this novel, as to some extent all that makes this book different than many others. We can say that to Day Daddy/Boy dynamics is nothing new, at least in theory, but if we consider practice, the man is completely inexperienced. So in "Finding His Daddy" we see how Day takes his first steps on a path he must follow if he wants to be truly fulfilled and really happy, but first he must learn what he expects from himself, from his partner, from their relationship.
Courage is another greatly presented and really interesting problem that was raised in the novel. The courage to look at yourself and your needs in a different way, the courage to seek fulfillment, to allow someone to take control, and finally the courage to fight for your feelings. I admit that I was surprised by the fact that "Finding His Daddy" touches this subject. I didn't expect it at all, but I believe it is very important that in this case the problem of courage was raised in a way that makes us look at the novel from a completely different angle than we look at other stories of this type. This book doesn't focus on the topic of curiosity and exploration of something new, or on unexpected reveal of something surprising concerning oneself. "Finding His Daddy" is a novel in which the main character must find the strength and courage to reach for what he desires and as it is a bit unconventional, he is sometimes forced to fight with himself just to take this first step towards being himself.
Another unique advantage of "Finding His Daddy" is the fact that in the novel Daddy/Boy relationship is not a synonym for love, which is very clearly emphasized. Usually, in books with this type of dynamics, the characters fall in love with each other very quickly, which makes them even more eager to satisfy each other's needs. In this case, Daddy/Boy relationship somehow dominates over love. In other words, it is important to remember that deep feelings are not always enough for two people to be together, while Daddy/Boy lifestyle compatibility doesn't mean that the partners are in love with each other. This manner of showing things can be due to the fact that in "Finding His Daddy" the emphasis was placed primarily on the scenes and not on everyday Daddy/Boy relationship. In fact, in vast majority of Daddy kink novels that I have read the characters' life was built on Daddy/Boy relationship, and that's why this novel really differs from those I've read so far.
In summary, "Finding His Daddy" is a really interesting novel, which in many respects differs from others, but at the same time resembles them. I have no doubt that in this book the readers can find exactly what they are looking for in this kind of literature, but they can also count on the elements that distinguish this novel from others. This is a great start of a new series that is really worth reading.
_____________________________
Odwaga by spojrzeć na siebie i swoje potrzeby w inny sposób, odwaga by szukać spełnienia, by pozwolić komuś na przejęcie kontroli, i w końcu odwaga by walczyć o swoje uczucia.
Finding His Daddy is a wonderful Daddy/Little romance that is low angst. I love how sweet Zachary as he steps back and allows Dayton the time he needs to think about, adjust, and accept his wants and desires after taking the first step by joining Lock and Keys kink club. Dayton is Zach's first foray into a relationship with a boy since his ex left and, though wary, he soon warms to Dayton's innocence. They are a perfectly matched couple with their wants and needs, both with the Daddy/Little aspect and the BDSM that they also enjoy. Little time is very cute, especially at first as Dayton becomes comfortable with it and learns trust in his Daddy, but it also often leads to something much hotter that they enjoy just as much. There's a really good connection between them that you can see developing from when they first meet. We have a small dose of drama towards the end to keep characters and readers on their toes that ultimately leads to a HEA but it also brings closure for them as well as bringing more characters into the Lock and Key world. There's an interesting cast of characters at the club that I'm looking forward to hearing more about. Established couples/poly relationships are present right alongside those looking for their perfect partner and there is a good balance of the two. Both men's friends are wonderfully supportive towards them but also give them a kick up the backside when needed and Dayton's mum is just brilliant, so accepting of her son and even happy to do a little online research! Definitely a story that I loved reading and I'm excited for the next book to see who will be getting their HEA and how. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
This book was given to me as an ARC. All opinions are my own. Daddy kink is one of my favourite thing, it's the care giving and the stern structure for the ones that need it. And Day does need it, knowing as much he goes searching for it and thus finds Zach. Being an avid reader, I have been through plenty and don't need the whole BDSM concept explained to me, meaning at times this can become tedious when Days was so new to it all. At the same time, scenes that was portrayed during the book was plenty hot.
Day's little side was adorable, his excitement for his toys and clothes was so real and his journey going from scared to embracing his need was lovely. Because they were so precious together I wish there had been more of that side, meaning I wanted it to be a longer book.
Parts of it were contradicting itself and at times things were repeated a bit too much. I'm hoping the next books are more structured and I will be curious enough to go on to the next one.
Several characters are presented throughout the book and it's easy to see who will get their own story. Hopefully we will see Day and Zach pop in as a more established couple as Day's friends finds their own happy ending.
Finding His Daddy is a good start to a new series and there are a lot of things I liked about it as the characters are intriguing and the storyline is interesting. Zach is a caring Daddy Dom without a boy and Day knows what he wants but he is a bit overwhelmed when he starts looking for a daddy. They seem to be perfect for each other but a lack of communication could be their downfall. I wish that Zach had been very clear about his expectations instead of letting Day flounder a bit as he tries to fit into the club environment. Day needs Zach to step up and guide him and when he doesn't they both jump to the wrong conclusions. They will have to decide if what they have is worth fighting for. I like the secondary characters and they are very supportive and helpful when Day and Zach need them. The ending is great and I look forward to reading the next book in this new series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Dayton visits the BDSM club Lock and Key to find something that he knows is missing from his life. Master Zachary sees Dayton trying to navigate the club and members and knows he needs to meet him and help him on his voyage of discovery. Zach guides Dayton to teach him what it means to be little; as things develop, they become more than a Daddy/little. A conversation and a face from the past threaten their growing relationship. Can they make amends or is everything over?
This was a sweet story of Dayton and his introduction and exploration of being little and the relationship between him and Zachary. I loved the way that they were so good at communication around their kink but they weren't so good about a couple of things which caused problems. I liked the attention to consent and the reinforcement that if someone said no to attention for another they did mean no. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
Daddy kink is a hot subject matter and I was excited to review “Finding His Daddy”, the first book in Megs Pritchard’s “Daddy-licious” series. The reader is introduced to Dayton, a newbie to the BDSM community who is looking for what makes him tick. He eventually meets Zac, a daddy dom who helps him find what he is looking for.
The storyline for the book was good but as a reader I felt there was too much attention paid to the building of Dayton and Zac’s relationship. While I understand that Dayton was interested in a daddy/boy relationship, his overall reluctance to embrace the little role seemed to be a hole in the plot. The story was filled with a number of side characters that I hope will end up in future books. I look forward to future books in the series.
This is my willing and honest review for the ARC I received.
I think this book could be a decent introduction to age play. It wasn’t bad, it was just kind of slow for my tastes considering the length of the book. It took Day a long time to be comfortable with the idea of finally being a boy and while I applaud the author in showing how not everyone is ready to just jump into an age play relationship, it took longer than I felt it necessary since Day already knew it was something he wanted.
While the ‘misunderstanding’ at about 80% was not unheard of, I thought Zach’s reaction was juvenile and at the same time it reminds us that just because he’s a Dom doesn’t mean he’s perfect.
***** POV… third person
Standalone or series… book 1 in series can be read as standalone
Day is new to the BDSM scene and he decides to join a BDSM club. There, he meets one of the co-owners, Zachary, who offers to help him. Both men are attracted to each other and it turns out they want similar things. It was really wonderful to read how respecting and patient Zachary was with Day. And I thought that Day’s struggles to try new things and sink in his role were really realistic and well written. The two of them had amazing chemistry and their love story warmed my heart. I loved the group of side characters too, and I can’t wait to read their stories. Especially Gabriel and Rain! Also, Day’s mom was brilliant and hilarious! I loved his mom! Great book!
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Day and Zach are such a cute couple. Day is afraid of his little side and he has it locked for a long time but his friend and ex boyfriend convince him to go to the club Zach manages with his two friends. Zach is in search of his perfect little but after the break up is reticent. When he sees Day he's instantly attracted and hopes that Day is his forever boy. It's amazing to see how Day blossom in Zach’s hand and is shaped to a better self. Communication is very important and a misunderstanding leads them to a little heartache but after talking things out and confessing their feelings they made up and find their happiness. It was a great book and I can't wait for the next one.
Loved, Loved, Loved!! This was such a good story. Dayton was new to BDSM, looking for a Daddy. Zach had his heart broke but was ready to start looking again for a boy. They meet at Zach’s club. Zach helps Dayton navigate thru the lifestyle. They get together fairly quickly but misunderstandings upset the balance. I really loved getting to know Day and Zach, they fit really good together. I will definitely be looking for more of this storyline!! A must read if you love a Little/Daddy storyline. I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received from Gay Romance Reviews. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
I had recently heard of Megs Pritchard and I was excited to see the new Daddy boy story. This story has Daddy boy kink with ABDL but Without the diapers and I enjoyed it. I really liked the storyline and the characters and I am excited to read more of the series. Even though I loved the MC's and the story, I gave 4 stars because their are so typos and some editing issues, like have instead of had, and some unnecessary repeats. I am looking forward to reading the next book in July.
I am an undercover kink and love reading 'around' in this genre but I was a bit unsure about the 'daddy' role. I'm pleased to say it was right up my alley! Day and Zach's story was really great. The slow burn works for this type of relationship and I was pleased with the character development. Great introduction of other characters for future novels and I can say that I'm ready to read about them all. I think the 'kink' in this novel was just at the right level - teetering on teasing to full steam ahead. It was a wild ride that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This is a new to me author. I'll admit that I wasn't sure what to expect. I reviewed this as an ARC provided by Gay Romance Reviews. I'm a big fan of Daddy/boy kink. This was a good story but I was a little disappointed. It felt like Day wasn't sure if he wanted to be a little. I thought Zach would help him embrace his role but other than one or two play scenes, it didn't seem like Dayton was given a chance to become full little.
Great start to a new series. Loved Zach and Dayton! Their dynamic worked and the whole Universe around 'Lock and Key' is interesting and I want to know more about everyone. Even though I loved the two main characters one of my favorite parts of this was seeing the great side characters weaved in and I definitely need to see these guys get books! Can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.
It was a nice book, but I had trouble connecting to the main characters.
I liked both Day and Zach but there was something missing. The premise was great and the plot interesting, but it lacked chemistry a little bit. It felt a little stiff at times.
I still read it through and through thought, and I liked their relationship and the love between them. It was sweet to read.
Daddy/boy is one of my favorite reads. This is a good story that follows a boy new to the scene and a Daddy that help him discover his little side. I enjoyed getting to know Day and Zach and all their friends. I do look forward to more books in this series.
My only criticism is there were a number of proofing errors that took me out of the story and I had to reread parts to make sure I was following correctly.
This is only the second ever book Ive read in this genre. This is completely different to the first.
I think this book has so much going for it. Interesting characters, and side characters, good storyline, about communication regardless of what kind of relationship your involved in. Obviously there are some aspects to kink that isnt to everyones taste. But this was tasteful, and slightly informative.
Im new to Meg Pritchard. But I wont be hesitating to grab another of these stories
