This was a sweet little story that was well written and flowed throughout.
Angela has had a year that she would rather forget with her father and brother in law fatally injured in a car crash and her sister unable to deal with the grief committed suicide. So when she attacked by her friends and they try to rape her she is gratefully rescued by a dark shadow of a man. She knows she needs to thank her rescuer she manages to track him down to a gym but the exchange doesn’t go as she planned and thinks that she will never see him again, only when she is offered a private job as a hostess he is the guest of honour and making it clear that he wants her. Could he really want her when this handsome man could have any woman he wanted?
Lincoln is a celebrated war veteran who can have his pick of women but his demons don’t ever leave so he hunts at night which is where he sees Angela for the first time, when he rescues her from being attacked there is something about her that calls o him but fearing his own darkness he knows he needs to stay away but when fate brings her back into his orbit he is done trying to escape. But will her insecurities keep her from giving him her heart?
Enjoyable short story with a cute epilogue. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book. 4* Read.

Alpha male Lincoln saves Angela from a dangerous situation.
He thinks he will never see her again.. but Angela is determined to say thank you too her rescuer.
Short story, hot scenes, typical alpha male hunting the girl he wants.
I liked reading it as an before bed story 📖🙌🏻

This is a rather interesting story that pulls you in, right away. When Major Lincoln Davis rescues, Angela from two known attackers. You heard me right, she knows them, grew up with them if I understand it correctly. Anyway, they regretted that decision once Lincoln was finished with them. Although in shock, Davis has her follow him to get her away from the area, from where the guys now lay. Also, knew he could force her, due to the fear she is already experiencing. She follows, however, the thing she remembers next, is waking up at the hospital with his jacket.
Her only link to him is the jacket. When at home, she finds a flyer in the pocket for a gym so, a week later she goes looking for him, to return it, and to thank him. When she bumps into him, the experience is electrifying for both of them, as well as overwhelming. Their third encounter is the most jarring, and sets the bases, for the rest of the story.
We find out that, Lincoln is still an active member of the military, who is very conflicted with the things he has seen, and missions completed in the name of the US, but at his hands. He finds the more he is around, Angela, the less the stressors are. Angela is dealing with self-image issues, due to her body not being the magazine images of perfect. She happens to be a curvy girl. Larger hips and fuller breast. Not to mention, she had lost her father, sister's fiance, and sister. And now, her mother to deep depression. Yet, she is choosing to carry on, by attending medical school in Germany. Where she has been accepted and she will attend. See how these two can be angels for each other, if only for a a moment in time.

Griping gremlins! Alexis laid this baby out with such stunning wonder, along with all the hard knocks, snags, tweaks and jumbles, making this baby sing loud and proud, wrapping it up sleek, shiny and tight. Lines are blurred and boundaries get crossed, expectations are bowed and balanced, flinging this gem forward without a single hitch, kicking it into overdrive, throwing it into a frenzy with an mind-blowing culmination. This baby may be quick, but there is nothing short about it. Shenanigans, escapades and mayhem rule the roost displaying the drama, turmoil, intrigue, danger, spiraling suspense and intense situations, along with a boatload of sass, you have one intoxicating masterpiece. Quirky mishaps and stunning happenstance, swirl with the formidable trials and taxing tribulations, spinning alongside the explosive twists and wicked turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never imagined. The attraction and chemistry sizzles from the pages alluring and mesmerizing, until you feel the electrifying hum running rampant, through your veins. The characters, banter, dialogue, interactions, charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it paints an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Outstanding job Alexis, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Angela and Lincoln. Lincoln is a military man who hunts at night to calm himself. One night he was out and he heard a woman scream. Angela was being attacked by two of her co-workers and Lincoln came to her rescue. A few days later, Angela found Lincoln and wanted to thank him, but she got scared and ran away from him. Angela was hired as a waitress with her friend for a banquet on a cruise and she was shocked to see Lincoln was the guest of honor. Lincoln saw Angela and he couldn't resist her anymore. Lincoln warned Angela to run away from him, but she wanted him too. Lincoln never had a woman affect him like Angela did and he knew she was special. I liked this story. I think Lincoln was not as bad as he thought he was and i think he needed to allow himself to be loved. Angela was a little naive, but she knew Lincoln would never hurt her. Good one.

This is the first book of the “Heroic Alpha” series and it’s about a decorated hot alpha military male (MAJ Lincoln Davis) and a younger curvy female (Angela). This is a short, fast-pace, sizzling hot, romance that will have you on pins and needles as you turn the pages to find out if they find a HEA. This is another exceptional read by Alexis Ashlie.

Book 1 of a series. This is the story of Lincoln and Angela. Very interesting beginning of the series. This book is well written and gives the point of view from both main characters. The book left me wondering what will happen next. Book 2 I'm sure will be even better! Certainly worth the read. I was given a free copy of this book under the ARC program, for my honest review.

He needs someone in his life to help him heal. She wants someone but is scared. He is not giving up on her. It is a good story with lots of excitement and much more. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

This is a short little story. I liked the idea behind it, but I found that the author took a few leaps that didn’t make sense to me. Things that should have been fleshed out and explained were instead skipped over, giving it a choppy or rushed feeling
