Sometimes a good story takes one more book. The Federal History Project (We Bring the Federation’s Past to the Present™) could not fit the full story into five books. We apologize.
The Telorans just got pummeled in Meligorn space, but the victory came with unexpectedly bad news.
There is another Teloran fleet heading in their direction.
What will the Federation Navy decide to do?
On Earth, Stephanie's plans to help rebuild are slowly taking shape.
Will her team be able to figure out a plan to reduce the toxic radiation zones, or will they die of radiation sickness or magical destruction and sink the future of the planet?
Regardless of the victories, some in power are willing to make deals to try and cut Stephanie and her team out of the future.
Will Stephanie's team be able to defend the Federation if a part of it hates her?
She is a MORGANA. There are no other alternatives, no matter the risk to her and her team.
Dang. After all the effort Stephanie and her team go through to save THREE worlds and the arseholes on Earth treat'em like crap. *smh* The lead up to the end was going great until the last couple of pages of the book... what a disappointment!
So many dangling story lines to finish....the series was about 1600 pages too long. Unfortunately the author’s snarky secondary characters had potential but ultimately dragged this series on too long.
Read this late into the night, and instead of wrapping up an epic adventure... it just pressed pause as everything went sour. Not the ending I thought Stephanie, the guys, and her crews would get. It feels a lot like the bad guys winning 😑
However fear not, intrepid reader. The author lays out that he plans to continue Stephanie’s story - after a brief spinoff series - and we might finally get the epic ending I was expecting.
I think the Witch of the Federation has been my favorite book series from the author. I have eagerly awaited each one. I’m sadden to see it come to a close. But was very excited to see that the universe will be continuing on and now I have a new series to look forward to.
I cannot begin to say how much I loved this book. It answered questions I didn't know I had.And created new ones that I can't wait to see answered and worked out. Stephanopoulos e and the Morgana are so different, yet so much the same. I love watching as they protect the world(s) whether they want to be protected or not.
This has become one of my absolute favorite series. Stephanie, Burt, Elizabeth and all the other snarky humans, aliens & AI’s make this a fun read. The plot is complex & the story hard to put down. But who needs sleep.
Its good to finally see the end of this story arc but it brings sadness as we come to the end. A great mix of action, magic and adventure that keeps each page entertaining.
I wish I could give this 10 stars. The story is fantastic, there are scenes that had me on the edge of my seat. I laughed and cried. But above all I was entertained. This is a series I will revisit, often.
Stephanie is pushing herself harder than ever, to do what is necessary to save not only a earth, but Meligorn and Dreth as well. Even if she has to save these planets from their own citizens. An intense finale to the Witch series, and I’m sad to see the end. I do hope we see more of her in the future.
It is a long time since I started reading this series but due to it taking a nosedive after the first book it has taken me some time to complete.
I quite liked the first book in this series, enough to give it four stars, which is probably why I suffered through it, in some vain hope of getting another one of those four stars books. Sadly it never happened. This is the last book in the Federal Histories series but the story continues in the Heretic of the Federation series. Not surprisingly I think I give that one a pass.
The story is a mix of science and fantasy (magic) which can be quite good if it is done right. In this series it is not really working as far as I am concerned. This mix becomes more of a mess. Actually the entire story is a bit of a mess with conspiracies, asshat politicians and admirals and whatnot.
There are several elements of the story that has so much potential. For example this sentient computer that becomes a important ally of Stephanie. Bringing in Morgana also felt like a cool idea at the beginning. Sadly most of it just felt wasted.
The idea of being able to train your magic in some virtual space hooked up to computers could have worked but it didn’t, at least not for me.
Then we have this rubbish side story of wanting to “clean up” the polluted Earth which felt like some added thing just to cater for a certain minority but which just became a distraction.
To really kill off the series for me the ending was just no, no, NO! Absolutely abysmal. I suspect that the author decided to throw in this apocalyptic ending, where everything that has been achieved is just ripped apart, just to set the stage and create interest, for the next series but I do not like cliffhangers and cliffhangers of apocalyptic proportions… well those I have a apocalyptic dislike for.
It’s irritating when you want to go forward with Stephanie but have to pause. This has been a roller coaster ride from the beginning. I don’t consider this series to be a YA series so I have to wonder why Stephanie remains just Todd’s girlfriend throughout the whole series. Even Elizabeth and Matthias have a somewhat strange relationship. Of course, this takes nothing away from the story. The space battles are great but the bad guys are allowed to get away with too much. Anyone who likes sci-fi and fantasy is going to eat this up. And, probably, like me will be wondering when we see Steph and co. again. I’m also looking forward to the Heretic series after the little taste we were given. I find that I can always depend on a good read if MA’s name is on it or backing it.
Great book and series! I love when in the batting good verses evil, good never gives up, even in the bleakest moments. This series keeps you vested and engaged throughout the different books, a page three for sure. I am glad that none of chactors I had become emotionally invested in were killed off! That was very important to me! With what is happening in the real world I needed my team to win and everyone was able to ride off into the "sunset". Thank you for the hours of enjoyment of entrainment!! I wonder if in the future if the precocious little girl Nat will make an appearance?? I have to say she was a highlight!
Amazing in all ways except the ending. I mean I definitely felt like the bad guys won! I think there needs to be one more book then it would be a nicely wrapped up series. But still. I loved Miss E and steph and the the morgana and Kau. Natalie was cute. Oh and I did love that no one who I was emotionally invested in died, which is a thing I really like in my books regardless of if it is considered realistic by the critics. If they want to be depressed then go read the last divergent book.
I loved the funny moments, like when the king visits the melagornian 1 R&D and the old man. And several others. Great series overall, though still just needs to be 7 books, and would recommend.
Well, the end of another series. I'm reading this just over a year after publication. We're still in the throes of covid-hell, going through the 4th or 5th wave. I enjoyed this series, which is a little surprising. I thought it had something to do with a different Federation Michael has written about. I was a little bummed to find out it didn't, until I got to know the characters and the stories pulled me in. It's happened over and over as I read through everything LMBPN publishes. Great characters and great stories!!!!! What more could you ask for??? Now, it's on to the next series.
I loved it. I am so happy I started with Heretic; it made me want to read the entire series. The history of Steph & this book, of her last battles was a wonderful way to pass my down time. I appreciate MAs talent more & more. I live with autism (hubby) so I need these stories to decompress, lol.
Whatever your reason for reading, I think you'll find something to love in this series. Take time for reading!
What a top roaring end to a series and the beginning to a new one.
Intergalactic warfare with added snark. Always expect power hungry humans to stab you in the back. Get ready for the rise of the new world order......................Heil Human. I look forward to seeing how dystopian the future for the young witches will become. Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action. What more could you ask for.
Once again this had me captivated all the way through, I am looking forward to the continuation of Stephanie 's story, the story arcs of all the stories by Michael Anderle and his fellow authors have been the only way I have kept reasonably same through this trying time, hopefully as the pandemic slows life will get back to normal.
I loved how the story unfolded. The closet bad guys were suddenly not so closeted. The who were convinced they were destined to control the Earth had some surprises as well. I, for one, am delighted to know, as in life, the story will go on. For now, I will be joining with countless others awaiting your next release!
The entire series is so very good. Re-reading the previous 5 for the 5th-2nd time and this 6th episode has helped get me through another week of COVID lockdown to emerge with some semblance of sanity left. Please oh please Michael another 6 trilogy's in Stephanie's 'history' would not go amiss.
A great finish to a thoroughly entertaining series.
An enjoyable series with a strong final episode. The entire series has been well written with some good humour along the way. As usual MA leaves a number of Easter eggs (should you choose to look up some of the ship names etc). All in all, well worth reading.
Congrats. You've left me craving more... again. This time it's a craving for The Federation Witch. Wow, I've actually reached the end of what you've published, so far, in a series... I haven't managed that in a while, you prolific writer you.but
Thanks for feeding my beast with such tasty morsels.
Love these characters so much - Stephanie Morgana is the best! But Elizabeth is just as fabulous! The ‘action’ or fight scenes are better than any Star Trek episode. But the emotional thread that runs amongst the characters gives that extra punch that makes the storyline more special. Can’t wait what unfolds in the next books!
Steffany and her team is come along way unfortunately the corrupt people on earth just can't seem to get out of their way to do what's best for the planet however the teller on surrendered she's going to tell her on Let's see what happens next what will earth do
Will add complete review after finishing series, but so far a great read. You don't even need an excuse like a virus to take the time to lose your self in a great sf book or series like this one.
No give away of plots to entice you but a fun read and interesting science, and for once I had to learn new concepts.
Another awesome series Michael. I've been with you since the beginning and you have saved me from the monotony on looking for yet another book or series to read. When I found you only a couple Bethany Anne books were out. Since then I always have a great story to read!! Thank you
News flash ! There are more of these books to read.
I picked this rating because I loved the idea of this book where evil is pitted against a powerful good. The ugly truth of media corrosive lies, distortion and manipulation is a tail that needs to be told. It 's unfortunate parallel to our current messed up situation is refreshing. It brings hope to our dreams.
OK Michael, here I am on September 3rd, 2021 and yes, COVID is still going strong!! Your writings are about the only thing that I look forward to, I’ve read this series twice and a few of the “Heretic” as well. Waiting impatiently on the next installment of the “Witch” series. Hope you and your folks have recovered from this COVID Depression and and writing again!!!
