Bear is the silent brother in the Texas Kings MC. After a life spent mostly alone, he never imagined he would ever find someone who could fit into his life, or might possibly even want to. A chance meeting with a beautiful woman changes everything. He'll put himself in front of a bullet for her, but will she be able to live in his world?

Autumn has had the world in her pocket for her entire life. As a child star, and the daughter of a wealthy businessman, most people envy her and wish that they could trade places. What they don't see is the solitary life of the 'poor little rich girl' and how much she wants a love and family of her own.

When the bullets start flying, Bear doubts that Autumn will stay by his side. Autumn on the other hand can't imagine being anywhere else.

Bear has always been the strong but silent type even with his brothers in the Texas Kings MC. There are reasons behind is quiet demeanor and he keeps those safely guarded until Autumn enters his life. Autumn is a ray of sunshine on a dreary day but Bear knows he is not good enough for her.

Autumn falls fast and hard for Bear, she sees he has demons lurking behind those shadowed eyes but she has been through hell and back and has her own. The two have more in common then they think and when Bear gets shot for protecting her, she reacts and completely puts Bears life in her care. Bear is amazed how Autumn has swiftly suited his life and he doesn't want to let her go. Will Autumn feel the same?

This was terrific. Autumn is feisty and when Bear tries to push her away she gets in his face. I thought the chemistry was off the charts and this was a page turner I could not put down.

Wow.
These two are absolutely perfectly suited for each other.
I am completely in love with the way this author writes her FMCs.
Autumn is a complete, surprise badass.
Badasses are my absolute favorite fucking form of FMC. I’m always a sucker for them.
And every time I learned something new about Autumn I just continually fell in love over and over.

Plus she’s got so much in common with Bear.
And their connection is so strong and instantaneous. It was beautiful to see.
I really enjoyed seeing Bear come out of his shell, and heal with her support and love.

Then, of course the side characters were all phenomenal. This author is also fantastic at creating characters, even in the periphery, that peak my interest and make the story just that much better.
Usually I just read one or two couples’ books in a series like this because the rest don’t interest me at all. But everything I’ve picked up from this author just makes me more and more curious about every single character I encounter while reading.
I want to know everything. About everyone.
Well. Mostly.
I did skip a couple books in this series. Smokey and Martha’s, because we had already gotten a good idea of their story and I didn’t want to go that far back in time to relive it with them. Then a few of the others just because they weren’t around or talked about often with the club so I hadn’t gained the interest in them that I had with most of the others.
But still.
Im having a blast, and I can’t wait to get to the next book to see what’s next and revisit all the rest of the characters.

This was really sweet and heartwarming and sexy and just everything I wanted it to be.
I love Bear. So much.

In the last book we saw the attraction between Bear and Autumn, but I wasn't sure how it would work out. They are so different, it didn't seem possible for anything more than a fling. But as the book went on we saw how much they had in common with their past and how they thought about things. Not much phased Autumn, she had the skills to get things done and even Bear's simplistic life was an area she knew about.

I loved it when Bear met Mawmaw and the presents he brought her. It was perfect for a person like that, one that she could use and be happy with, but one that most people wouldn't.

I liked how this one ended, was glad for the choice that Autumn made in NY, glad that her life is finally all that she hoped for.

Bear

Autumn hit the mountain man lottery ! Bear is unapologetically and deliciously male ! He is perfect for Autumn even though it took him awhile to figure that out!

After Tucker it seemed like the author took the express lane with this series. It's like a whole book was missing. 7.5 should have come after at least Bear's book. There's a whole bunch of stuff that happens in the background that could have happened in it's own book. Maybe Jenna and Fein should have had their book after Tucker so that these action sequences could have been shown instead of told. Or even better, Hank and Nicole could have had their book after Tucker so that everything that happens could have been explained and then Jenna and Fein could have had their own book while she recovers. I dunno. It seems like the author was in a rush to give everyone their HEA instead of telling the story like she did in the first 7 books. After Smokey it all went downhill. I'm a loyal reader and am invested in the characters no matter what. I guess that's a sign of a good author, just wish I didn't feel like I missed something.

I think I need to take a break from this series. I feel like the author goes only so far, then it's like she gets cold feet and quickly withdraws. Like in this book, Bear clearly has some form of PTSD. But he never seeks help for it. Autumn asks him about it after he has a nightmare and, while sleeping, hits her so hard she's thrown into the air and crashes into a wall (!!!). But once they have that talk and he tells her what happened in his past, it's never brought up again and seems to go away by itself. I felt this was a cavalier treatment of something very real and serious.

I also thought it was very convenient that Autumn the New York City girl, child star, and multimillionaire would have had experience growing up in a remote area, isolated and living off the land. I mean, I know it's a love story, but there's just no challenge in having Autumn be so similar to Bear. She didn't need to adjust to his lifestyle even a smidgen. She does mention the lack of electricity at his home, but it doesn't appear to inconvenience her in any way, and she doesn't have difficulty going about any of her daily tasks without it. And just like Terra and Willow (books #1 and #5), Autumn turns out to be this badass chick who can fight and loves weapons. It's like... the author cloned her heroines.

We're told about Bear and Autumn's pasts through flashback scenes at the beginning of every chapter, but I felt that these would have had more impact if we had listened to them tell each other what happened. Autumn and Bear both seem to give each other only very sketchy accounts, and I wanted to see them being vulnerable with each other and opening up. That thing Autumn did when she was a teenager, she tells Bear about it but we don't get to hear the whole conversation. We only hear the ending of it. That was actually a pivotal moment in the story, because she trusts him with one of her darkest secrets. But... nope, like I said, the author appeared to get cold feet and withdrew instead of writing that scene.

Bear and Autumn also don't talk about money. Bear says he doesn't want her money, and that's it. I don't know... money is a huge issue for many couples in real life, what more in a situation like this where the lady has much more than her man does. I thought it warranted more discussion.

I guess I just felt like this story could have had a lot more depth. It felt a bit shallow. As a result, I found it hard to believe in Bear and Autumn's so-called "love".

Safe, no ow\om drama. I was worried that he would push away too much, I prefer my guys to want to pull the girl close, not think that they aren't enough. Bear did a bit of that but not too bad. She was great and pushed back at times. There were a few times I may not have been as forgiving. how she talked to her friend was pretty crappy when her friend needed her the most. Nice ending

From shattered childhoods w different backgrounds, can they save each other?

I do NOT consider it to be a STAND-ALONE read. Cee Bowerman authors multiple series set within Rojo, Texas and they are intertwined. There is a correct reading order and it can be found on her website (ceebowermanbooks.com). These really do need to be read in that order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe (world building), with past and concurrent timelines and overarching themes.

** There are some scenes that will be a trigger for sensitive readers. I have included examples below. Also, if you have not read the previous story in this series, the following may contain SPOILERS **

Another great story in Rojo, Texas! My new favorite of the combined series! I have been reading as fast I could to get to this story and I wasn’t disappointed. Isn’t it always the quiet ones that you have to watch out for?! Still waters and all of that … As always with these combined series especially, the world building and characters are very well developed and come to life as you read. Oh, how I wish Bear’s canyon was real and someplace I could spend some quality time 😌.

There are some heartbreaking scenes, but somehow that made it all the sweeter when Autumn and Bear find their HEA. I really liked how Cee Bowerman worked each of their histories into the story. These scenes are throughout the book as thoughts or dreams, usually at the beginning of a chapter, and include those things that shaped them from childhood to present.

The timeline on this actually overlaps the a couple of the previous stories, but the scenes aren’t really duplicated. There is either a different perspective provided, or the event is recapped at a very high level. For example, Autumn’s last morning in Louisiana before traveling with Maria to Rojo is how her story begins, then kind of skips to when the two of them meet for the first time at Willow’s shop where Bear is working. Who would have expected Bear to be such an old-fashioned gentleman! I could have swooned!

One last note before I wrap this part up for readers not sure about the genre … the MC genre contains several different branches from sweet to outlaw to one percenters. While the Texas Knights MC is in the middle imo, the Texas Kings MC is more of the outlaw variety. Both focus on love, brotherhood, families and support, but the Texas Kings, and some of the women they love, also bring vengeance to the table.

⛔️ The interwoven SERIES contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, (play) spanking for pleasure, restraints, “bottom” play, breath play, sensory deprivation, voyeurism, exhibitionism, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, alcoholism, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, rape, attempted rape, stalking, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, arson, drug use, drug addiction, drug manufacturing, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females and/or children, polygamy, etc.

** Caution: The series contains scenes with reference to, or detailed graphic violence against females and children that fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **

There are a few grammatical issues in this story, primarily typos, incorrect words, and punctuation errors. I highlighted a few of the errors and uploaded them to Goodreads.com for anyone interested. I am mentioning these issues for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

Bear and his Autumn

This is a delightful book. It’s not filled with cherubs and rainbows. It’s filled with two people who had some difficult events happen while growing up that caused them to lose their parents. Their lives differed after the event. Both turned out to be fiercely loyal, very loving and perfect for each other. Their journey as cataloged in this book. It was so engaging and parts were so funny. As always, Bear’s MC family is as amusing, lethal, and loyal as ever. We get a deeper understanding of Richard’s role in Autumn’s life and his connection to Desmond. I was impressed with the character development. I adored Mawmaw. She reminded me of my grandmother. Fierce but so very loving. Highly recommend. I am intrigued this author can continually write books such interesting fun stories. Well done.

Autumn and her friend decided to make a change, to try something new, to embark on a new adventure. She had no idea how drastically her life would alter.

Bear had grown accustomed to being alone and living in seclusion. He disliked talking to others, but Autumn could change that.

Is it possible for a quiet man who lives alone to speak to the beautiful woman who was a child star, or are they destined to become friends?

This was a fantastic read for me.

The story held my attention. It was well-written and enjoyable to read.

I was emotionally attached to the characters, their camaraderie, strong ties, and sense of belonging.

Autumn and Bear had their own set of ideals and values, and the dialogue matched their personalities perfectly.

This is an amazing series. Bear is a book that should be read.

”Right before I stepped outside, the thought hit me: I’ve found my Martha. Even though every part of my body hurt, my head was throbbing, and my abdomen and leg were on fire, I smiled wide. Yeah, she was my Martha. My one in a million.”

i didn’t think i would like any other couple as much as Terra & Kale, but Autumn & Bear give them a run for their money. Autumn is such a badass and i really hope her and Terra become BFFs. honestly they need their own novella doing badass things.

and Bear & Autumn are also so perfect for each other. i loved that Autumn didn’t give up on Bear and let him push her away.

i also didn’t hate the flashbacks at the beginning of the chapters bc it helped you learn so much about both of them.

Finally! This book answers one of the biggest questions I had!

I love Cee’s books, I spend so much time laughing and giggling that I willingly overlook the need for editing. This is my second run through of reading the books already released and I couldn’t remember all the plots, but I knew that the reading order is wild. It doesn’t help that for the most part you have to backtrack on plots with these last 4 books (Tucker, John & Mattie, Bear, and Kale & Terra). Really that’s the only issue I have, I understand when storylines run concurrently that happens, but I was starting to remember why I didn’t want to read Cee’s other book because of it. I obviously got over it, but it is one of my pet peeves.

Oh my....

Absolutely floved this book. The Bear and the Princess. The only thing she's not like what you would imagine.
Liked how strong she was, the hot sex scenes, and an alpha male....everything I mean everything I want in a MC read. I like how one minute you've got serious situations to laugh out loud moments, that the shot just flows. This author is one of my one-click authors and I regret nothing. Can't wait for the next book.
I highly recommend this book.

A definite must read book & series!

This has become one of my favorite authors and series! I absolutely love this crazy, unpredictable, and awesome group of people who have created such a unique and loving family. This story had awesome characters, hilarious banter, crazy antics, angst, suspense, and lots of love. It's certainly a story that you won't want to miss!
I'm really looking forward to reading more from this incredible series!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

The series so far

I have to tell you how much I love this series! I am an English snob. There are a few mistakes, but not many. I edit books online so I am constantly aware of misspelled words and incorrect punctuation. There is very little in your books. I love your characters. They have depth and are sexy as hell. I do sometimes get confused when you introduce characters with no back story at all. Maybe one sentence to at least tell us who the love interest is or will be. I can't wait for each book.

I love this series!!!

Bear and Autumn two possible opposites but both have had similar experiences while growing up.
I was so very excited to read this book about this couple, learn how they came to be who they are. What experiences shaped them into the power couple they are. I laughed, and cried.
It was great to get that reminder to be able to be mad at those who left you too soon in life and to also thank them for shaping you into the person you are today.
I have loved every book in this series.

I liked most of this.

I think that my major issue with this - as well as the rest of the series - is that they are terribly surface-y... there are a ton of tropes chucked out there, but they are rarely delved into or even resolved with an level of satisfaction for me.

I liked both Bear and Autumn... but, considering what happened in their childhoods... there was very little mentioned of how it was dealt with. And what happened to Ellie I wonder? Would've thought that with the resources that both Richard and Autumn had we might've found out...

Autumn and Bear

This is a good series and written beautifully by the author. This book is about Bear who is a member of the Kings but likes to live a quiet life.
He meets Autumn and for once she's not a damsel in distress but does have some secrets, so does he.
The story flows well with surprises in store as she's a strong character. The other characters are well written too.
I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Always 5

I always give these books 5 stars because each book has been worthy of it. No exception here. Hard to write for a character that barely speaks, I imagine. Bear and Autumn's internal dialogue and the violence they both experienced in the past bonded them in a way no spoken words could improve on. I am anxious for the next books and really hope we will see Clem get his HEA too.

I love See Bowerman's books

The Texas Kings are my reward read. I save the newest till I can sit on my back porch or on vacation to read. Each book builds on the MC and I loved reading about Bear and Autumn. You get to catch up with the past cast of characters as well as meeting a while new crew. Loved seeing Autumn heal Bear's old demons while she moved forward in her life. Looking forward to the next book

Use your words Bear lol

Bear is the strong silent type.. his lady is the strong not so silent type. They complement each other so well as a couple. The humor in the story is what I will remember most about it. The gator feeding granny in the swamp was adorable, and again, funny.
I also appreciated Richard & Desmond as a couple, they added so much to the story- Desmond was a little judgey at first but he really grew on me.
I recommend this book

I love this series of books

They all follow man mets women.
Man is a biker, woman is not used to the biker life style however woman gets pregnant.... all is good is eventually
Unless you are like me and the use of the word drug instead of drag or dragged which really spoils to flow of this by (paint by numbers) romance.
I feel sad that at book 9 nothing hasn’t changed any of the formula 🤞🏻the rest of the series will change

Great!

I chose this rating because this was actually a pretty good book. I really enjoyed all of the characters. This was a book of protection, compassion, kindness, and believing in your self. As well as finding your muse. I really enjoyed Bear and Autumn story. I think the author did an amazing job as in paring Bear with Autumn together. They both had their issues and things to work out in their lives. Great read! I recommended this book to all romance readers and MC lovers.

I need more!

I didn’t read any of these series in order but I’ve already finished all of Forever Love and this was my last one in the Texas Kings series 😭
I’m almost done with Conner Brothers Construction. I need a next generation series to look forward to. I know I still need to read the Tempest series too but I still need a next generation series with all these bay bay kids. That would be awesome!!!!!!

Definitely my fave read so far of the series.

Both these characters suited each other really well. I loved how she was strong to keep pushing him when he tried to push her away. And how she inserted herself into his life without being pushy.

I wished the epilogue told more about their kids, it’s good when the epilogue is written years into the future. But it seems to arouse kore curiosity than answers any questions. Maybe there will be a final book in the series that details what happens.

Great Series

I do enjoy reading these stories of strong alpha men and the women they fall for. Lots of steamy love, some laughs and drama too. Love how Bear and Autumn are so perfect for each other and help each other realize what they want; what they need in their lives - each other.
