Remember when you were in your 20's and you thought you'd be in your 20's forever? Then suddenly you're almost 30 and you realize you need to decide what you want to be when you grow up. This is a lovely journey of discovery in personal growth, adventure and more personal growth. I found Erica on YouTube as she travels her way through Guatemala. I am at the end of that journey, having found my forever home after retirement in Guatemala.

If you are looking for a clear, fast-paced guide to travel, Leaving America with Erica is for you! Erica weaves a practical guide with her personal story in a captivating, easy to read style. Each chapter outlines the steps she took to get her where she is today (currently a goat herding goddess in the highlands of Guatemala). She pokes you, motivates you, and cheers you on each step of the process. But in the end, she hands the reigns over to you--reminding you that it is your decision to keep going, to start your own adventure.

I loved reading this book, which spoke to my own Truth as I have fumbled, struggled, and sometimes sailed through my own journey of life... seeking what is real and learning how to be real along the way. Erica is honest, funny, and has some memorable lessons that stuck with me, like how to care for trees and how to use my eyes to help others truly see me. If you feel stuck and want to learn a little bit about travel and how to roam the world in search of Self and adventure, you will enjoy this book.

Where were you 30 years ago??? I wish I had had this book then. But, as Erica says, it’s not too late!!!
This is the ultimate self help/travel book. Erica doesn’t sugar coat anything, she pushes you to realise your dreams. Take my advice, read this book, you won’t regret it.
