The saying goes, you can never fully put your past behind you.

But that’s exactly what I’ve been trying to do.
One night of chaos nine years ago changed everything for me.
I lost my family. I lost my home. And I vowed never to let a man be the guiding force in my life again.
That is until Kellin Shaw walks back into it.
A sexy and intriguing stranger I barely knew; he has no idea how closely tied he is to my past all going wrong.
A man so impossible to resist I don’t even know how to begin trying.
But he’s got secrets of his own. A dangerous air about him that both thrills and terrifies me.
If I were smart, I’d run from it all instead of allowing myself to be lured in deeper.
What happens when you surrender yourself to someone who has the power to destroy you?

A second chance at love romantic suspense from the Salvation Society world.

J. Saman is a USA Today and Amazon top 10 bestselling author who writes sassy, swoony, and scorching contemporary romances. She is addicted to Diet Coke, sour candy, and indie rock. What an incredible story of mystery, intrigue, second chances, lust and even love! This genre is not what this author usually writes, but let me just say, she most definitely nailed it! Alanna and Kellin are the kind of characters who you can’t help but fall in love with.

They met in college one fateful night, and it was a night that changed Alanna’s life forever. Years later, she sees Kellin, but can she ever tell him why things happened as they did? Both these characters have many secrets in their past and present and neither is looking for a relationship. But the chemistry between them is so sizzling your fingers will burn as you turn each page. There is no doubt in my mind that they belong together, but when something from Alanna’s past threatens both of them, will she risk it all to be with him? Can Kellin prove to her that he will do anything to protect her?

Quite a bit goes on in this story that made my head spin. My heart hurt, I was emotional, I was put back together and I didn’t want their story to end. This is a phenomenal story that once you start, you won’t put it down until every last word is read.

This book had me up way past my bedtime and then some. I felt as if I was watching an action movie and was invested in this world of intrigue, secrets, second chances at love, and way more. Alanna and Kellin met by chance while she is in college but fate has other plans for them and it isn’t until years later they run back into each other’s lives. Alanna has a past she doesn’t like to talk about and Kellin has secrets he just can’t talk about so how can they make this work or will it be a “just for now” type of relationship? I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the storyline and plot twists along the way because they kept me guessing and had me thinking about them well after I finished reading. The author really drew us into this amazing world throwing romance and action at us that was pure perfection. I devoured it all and really enjoyed the suspense, I don’t want to give too much away because this book was meant to be experienced.

"Her eyelashes flutter like a butterfly's wings. Her body undulating like the waves of the ocean. Her sighs as soft and gentle as snowflakes falling." This quote, is one of the reasons why I absolutely Love anything written by J. Saman. Her words are truly magical and her storylines are flawless! I felt everything!

A chance encounter at a frat party with a complete stranger forms a bond that withstands the true test of time. Now, nine years later and their never-ending bond is still ablaze! There was so much intrigue and mystery woven throughout the story that I couldn't flip through the pages fast enough. Desperate to find out what was going to happen next! I just couldn't get enough of Alanna and Kellin!

Love, love, love this second-chance romance. I highly recommend Surrender to anyone who loves a thrilling romantic suspense. Five amazing stars!

This is one of the books that makes J. Saman my favorite author. The suspens and drama kept me one the edge all through this story. Add a perfect love-connection, humorous dialogs and steamy scenes and you got yourself an amazing contemporary romance. She really out did herself with this one.

Short, steamy, and full of suspense, this reads quickly and will have you caught up in the action. It's more of a true romantic suspense than I prefer these days, with the drama as much of a focal point as the romance. So much so that the relationship felt a little shortchanged, definitely leaning towards instalove. But I loved the chemistry between these two and the obvious connection. The steamy scenes are smokin', and I loved our hero. Pair that with Saman's great writing, and you're in for a solid, action-packed read.

The story follows Kellin and Alanna, two near-strangers who met years ago. On the night before Kellin was set to be deployed in the Army, he met Alanna and felt an immediate attraction. They shared a steamy kiss and made plans to spend Kellin's remaining time together, only for trouble to get in the way (a few triggers). Years later, they run into each other again. Kellin is now a CIA agent and Alanna is a doctor, so their lives have taken them in different directions and they've again got limited time together. But they've still got the same intense connection, and both want to make the most of the time they have left.

I love this author's work, so I jumped into this one without knowing too much about the Salvation Society. Except for a few references that went over my head, this easily reads a standalone. The suspense takes the lead, and is a huge part of the storyline - it influences the past, present, and any future these two may have together. I personally wanted a little more from the relationship, but I definitely felt the connection. If you're looking for something action-packed and steamy, this will certainly satisfy. I'm also very curious to learn more about Alanna's friend, Carter. His presence in this story was more of a distraction than anything, but I loved his character and am really looking forward to finding out more about him. Overall, this is a solid, sexy, and suspenseful read. I received an early copy via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review of this steamy romance.

"I wish life weren't a cruel joke wrapped in tragic irony," I whisper to him. "Because in another life..." I pause and then realize there is no sense in holding back when I'll never see him again. "In another life, we could have been so much more than we'll ever be. Something incredible."

OMG, my heart!!!! I have to say that THIS book is right up there with my FAVE books in this series (INCLUDING the original Salvation Series by Corinne Michaels!) I am COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY by this authors' ability to make me lose myself in her words! The intrigue, the gut-twisting suspense, the secrets and the overwhelming, panty-melting chemistry between Kellin and Alanna was absolutely AMAZING!!!

J. Saman has, with this book, become a must-read author for me! I can't recommend this one strongly enough.....ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

I have read several books by J. Saman and this was another well-written book with plenty of suspense and steam. If you enjoy second chance romance, you really need to read this book. I couldn’t believe some of the secrets that come out. If anyone deserves a chance at love, it’s Alanna. Nine years have passed since Kellin and Alanna made a connection at a frat party. They had plans to meet up the next day, but Alanna never shows. Wait until you learn why she was a no show. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say I really enjoyed this story and I’m looking forward to her next book.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I suggest reading the Salvation Series by Corinne Michaels before reading books in the Society, but it is not a requirement.

Key Points for this story in the Salvation Society Collection:
- Romantic Suspense / Contemporary
- CIA Agent met at a young age
- OB Doctor cutting family ties
- Salvation Series connection is Mark, Charlie, Natalie, and Liam

Alanna met Kellin at a frat party 9 years ago and she was unable to meet up for the arranged date the next day. The events that led her to missing this date has haunted her for the rest of her life.
She started again, made huge life style and family adjustments and is now a succesful doctor.

A chance encounter with her frat party liaison 9 years later turns her life upside down, but the secrets Kellin is hiding could impact upon their chances.

Kellin and Alanna have to make life changes decisions but are they the ones that lead to the HEA evending or will it be too late when the truth all comes out.

A book you will start and will not want to put down, once again Julie Saman has excelled herself what a brilliant author and thank you for this excellent story

Corinne Michaels' Salvation Series ranks in my top 10 of all-time, and Liam himself ranks in probably my top-3 book boyfriends of all-time. I'm always happy to jump back in to this world and I must say, J. Saman did a wonderful job of bringing back and incorporating some of my favorite characters. She also did a wonderful job making me love the new ones she created!

This is a story of instant connection, which usually I don't like, but it totally worked in this book. It incorporated a slow burn too, which also I usually don't like, but both worked together in a totally good way. Kellin and Alanna instantly felt a connection when they met at a frat party one night. However, life and other things kept them apart for a while.

However, when they reconnect, sparks fly. But, life and other things are still there, still in the way. I loved watching Kellin and Alanna connect when they were younger, and I enjoyed following their story in present-day, as two fierce, strong independent adults with crazy jobs, crazy lives, and crazy ties that bind them.

This story sucked me in and I read it start to finish without putting it down. Who needs sleep? I recommend grabbing this one when it comes out, you won't be disappointed! As always, YMMV.

If you’re like me and wait until the busyness of the day is behind you to settle into a riveting book full of intrigue, secrets, suspense and second chances, then plan to be reading early into the morning with this one. It held me in its clutches, whipping me around twists and turns, leaving me breathless and stunned but with a full, satisfied heart at the end of the story.

Chance meetings, hidden identities and a long-time stalker set the stage for this phenomenal, captivating read. Although not part of her regular repertoire, Saman knocked it out of the park with some of her best writing yet in Corinne Michaels' Salvation Society world. Kellin and Alanna's story fits in smoothly with the series, giving cameos from some of our favorite characters.

Second chances are one of my favorite tropes, and I enjoyed every part of this one, from the simple but electrically charged first meeting to the HEA they both scraped and fought for. Peppered with humor, full of Hades-hot chemistry, and with lots of nail-biting and what-the-heck-just-happened moments, this exciting, hypnotizing, spectacular read is one you’ll want to dig into right away!

This was the perfect second chance romance. I loved every minute of it. I loved their first encounter, despite the short time. I loved their second glance and everything that led up to that second encounter. I loved the salvation characters and the love and loyalty they have for each other. I just absolutely loved Kellin and Alanna. These two were so perfect for each other. Despite the thought that they wouldn't last, I was rooting for them. Though I will be honest and admit I wasn't so sure about Carter at first. I had many questions about him and his so called friendship with Alanna. But he didn't disappoint me in the end. This book is high on drama but it's not overwhelming. It was just the perfect amount of drama, enough to keep me from putting it down. I will miss this couple but hopefully we will get another glance of them in a future book.

One of the things I love about the books in The Salvation Society series is getting to read new authors I might not have found before, like J. Samon. This is my first read, and I was completely engrossed in it! Read it all in one sitting because I just couldn’t get enough and needed to know what happened next. Kellin, a CIA agent, who’s recovery in a few ways from a bad op, goes home for a bit and runs into someone from his past, a beautiful woman, Alanna, from one night 9 yrs ago. Both had an intense connection then, and when they run into each other again now, still have that intense connection. They start spending time together, not expecting much, but feeling more then they planned. All while both hiding their secrets. And with danger lurking. This was thrilling, and sexy, and at times nerve racking. And I loved it all!! Not to mention some old friends who help out 😉. Definitely must read!!

Kellin and Alanna’s story completely sucked me in. It was a struggle to put this one down because I wanted to know what was coming next.

Kellin is on a mission and it just so happens to lead him back to one woman he hasn’t ever forgotten about, Alanna. There was instant chemistry the moment they saw each other again and they were both drawn to each other. Even though everything moved quickly with their relationship I loved every single moment of it. Their chemistry was intense and addicting from the start.

Surrender was full of twists and turns from the start. There are mysteries and secrets. Love and so many emotions. I never wanted this story to end and I wanted so much more of Kellin and Alanna.

If you’re looking for a second chance, romantic suspense story this is one to check out.

I went into this blind because I really enjoy everything I've read from them in the past. This is no different. The books I've read in the Salvation Society haven't missed yet and this is a suspenseful, slow burn between CIA agent and OB-Gyn Alanna who are reconnecting after meeting one night years previous. The sparks fly now as they did back then but they still have plenty of secrets between them. It's supposed to be a one night thing, but that quickly gets thrown to the side. Because the connection cannot be ignored. I adored this. And I cannot wait for more from this collection and this author. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

So amazing! I became completely engrossed in this book! On top of what was a great second chance romance, the added intriguing and suspense had me on the edge of my seat! There was a lot going on in this book and it really did keep me guessing on a few things.

I loved Alanna! She was so guarded all the time and her past was such a mystery, but the minute that fate brings in a blast from the past, she basically lets herself go. She’s finally allowing herself to live in the moment and experience life.
Kellin was truly amazing! On top of the sexiness, his confidence and the way he spoke to Alanna had me melting into a puddle! That man can seriously start a fire!!!The chemistry between them was hot and I was captivated!

I just finished Surrender a few minutes ago. The salvation society books are so amazing. I love all the different authors doing a different set of characters. I've floated in and out of this series and I can pick up where ever I want without being concerned about the previous books

This time around one of my favorites @jsamanbooks had a turn at the wheel. I absolutely adore her writing. Her male mcs are always so swoonworthy.

Surrender is built on a lot of secrets and when they come to light ohhh sweet jesus. I was seriously blindsided. I like to think I can see things coming from a mile away. Not this time not at all.

This is a brilliant suspense filled read that is worth way more than 5*s.

9 years later and they meet again and the chemistry is still there. Will they take this chance or will his secret work keep them apart.
When her past collides with her present will they both survive and be together.

I received a copy of this ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review"

I went into this book blind, it was off to a slow start and definitely a slow burn.
Kellin who is a CIA agent comes back to where it all started, the place he met the girl that plagued his mind for nine years.
Just when things start to normalize old ghosts come back and cause havoc?

Will Kellin and the girl from his past make it or work or will the twists and turns keep them apart?

My love for this series started with Consolation by Corinne Michaels and it was an absolute joy to read about Muffin, Dreamboat and Sparkles again.  Surrender introduces us to Kellin and Alanna and their story fits in seamlessly with the rest of the Salvation series with all the action, suspense and intrigue you come to expect, as well as J. Saman's trademark heat and passion to set your Kindle on fire.  Loved it!

Where do I start?

Surrender will suck you right in. We’ve met Kellin previously. But now we get the whole picture. Kellin and Alanna met nine years ago. It was a moment in time, a fork in the road that leads to the present day. Things were set in motion that long ago night.

Now, Alanna and Kellin are once again entwined.
Suspenseful, well-written, thoroughly and meticulously executed.
Recommend.

Kellin and Alanna are such a great couple and to find eachother after all that time.
They have such a sweet story with a dark past!! The truth is the past always comes back to haunt you!!
These characters are very well written and the story flows flawlessly. I loved every page I read!!
I was hooked into this world instantly. I could not put it down. I had to know how it all palys out and to know if there is a HEA.

You get cameos from the Salvation series and that is the cherry on top of this amazing story!!

What a story! Kelling and Alanna met on the night Alanna's life would be forever changed.
Now, years later, they meet again and the chemistry is off the charts. Neither want a relationship, both a secrets, and danger could be very much in the present.
Can these two trust and lean on each other?
There is a lot going on, and I was hooked right from the start!
Couldn't put it down!
