Diego believes that it’s important to focus on the sunny side. The beautiful arcs of color that appear in the sky may be known as rainbows, but they wouldn’t appear if the sun didn’t shine.
He’s lived through enough darkness. These days, he’s focused on all the good in his life—and there’s so much good. He doesn’t have a woman who’s a permanent fixture—but he does have plenty who pass through temporarily.
He likes women; they like him! He’s outgoing, fun-loving, and enjoys being the star of the show.
Izzy’s fun-loving and outgoing, too. She also enjoys being the center of attention, and right from the moment he meets her, Diego wouldn’t mind focusing some attention on her. But she’s just not interested.
At least, she claims she’s not.
At fifty-five, Izzy has life figured out. She’s that divorcée who’s living it up and enjoying her status as an attractive cougar on the prowl.
She enjoys the company of younger men—they enjoy her! She’s not looking for anything serious, and certainly not with a man like Diego. Sure, he’s sexy, and funny … and passionate … and romantic! But he’s also that big macho guy who needs to be in charge, and his ego is even bigger than his …
Diego might be a romantic, but she’s not one to get suckered in by hearts and flowers or talk of rainbows and unicorn farts. In her experience, the crock at the end of the rainbow is filled with something other than gold, and she has no desire to go there again.
Get your copy of this sweet and steamy romance today, and you’ll laugh and cry with Diego and Izzy on the journey to discover what lies at the end of their rainbow.

Summer Lake Silver series features couples in their fifties and older. Just because a few decades - or more - have skipped by since you were in your twenties it doesn’t mean you can’t find love, does it? Summer Lake Silver stories find happily ever afters for those who remember being thirty-something—vaguely.
Hi, I'm SJ. A coffee addict, lover of chocolate and drinker of good red wines. I'm a lost soul and a hopeless romantic. Reading and writing are necessary parts of who I am. Though perhaps not as necessary as coffee! I can drink coffee without writing, but I can't write without coffee.
I grew up loving romance novels, my first boyfriends were book boyfriends, but life intervened, as it tends to do, and I wandered down the paths of non fiction for many years. My life changed completely a couple of years ago and I returned to Romance to find my escape.
I write 'Sweet N Steamy' stories because to me there is enough angst and darkness in real life. My favorite romances are happy escapes with a focus on fun, friendships and happily-ever-afters, just like the ones I write.
These days I live in beautiful Montana, the last best place. If I'm not reading or writing you'll find me just down the road in the park - Yellowstone. I have deer, eagles and the occasional bear for company, and I like it that way :0)
Where the rainbow ends The fourth in SJ McCoy’s Summer Lake Silver Series, this book could be read as a stand-alone, but I have to admit I’d recommend you read ALL of SJ’s other stuff to date as you’d get a much richer experience as you’d recognise loads of characters. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair review . This book follows closely from the third book and even begins with a recap of an event in the previous book, but from the perspective of these characters, who were very much secondary in the previous book. You still could read this as a one off, but I’m sure you’d quickly want to read ‘A little rain must fall’. I’ll be honest with I wasn’t too sure I’d like these characters, what we previously knew of them made me draw my own conclusions, however I am delighted to say I was wrong! Once again SJ has worked her magic and woven together a beautiful story with depth and feeling, and of course a fair amount of our old Sumer Lake friends come into this one, without meaning to ruin anything my favourite of these would be little Sophie, who had already stolen the show in Colt and Cassie’s story. As this is a ‘Silvers’ the main characters are ‘older’ both having had previous marriages, one with a grown up child (Zack) and the other with no ‘real’ family. Diego and Isobel both enjoy the good things in life and have crossed paths since their respective best friends fell in love. As the best friends are moving on the pair find themselves about to face a new normal with work and friendships changing. It is at this point Diego decides to try to win over Izzy, who has pushed him away in the past few months as she just wants fun – nothing serious. Or at least this is what she tells herself and others to divert away from facing what truly troubles her. A whirl wind romance, blending in real life and a few home truths from a best friend and we get our happy ending for this wonderful pair. Really enjoyed this book and found it a great read, with a few emotional moment thrown in – just like real life!
Where the rainbow Ends is book 4 in the Summer Lake Silver series. This book follows closely behind the previous book A Little Rain Must Fall where we met our two characters Diego and Izzy. In book 3 we could see the sparks fly between the two characters while they sidelined any romantic intentions to allow their two best friends find true love first. In this book, the story is starts from the same place where all the characters meet for the fist time. It was interesting to see how their story played during the course of their own book. I have to say I found it hard at first to warm to Izzy. She always appeared a bit stand offish to me. There was always something strange about her previous relationships with younger men. I felt she was holding something back and there was a deep rooted feeling for her behaviour to Diego. I was glad they were able to overcome both their pasts and work towards a new future together. Again a really enjoyable book just wasn't one of my favourites. Well done to the SJ again for another great Summer Lake romance.
Another wonder book in the Summer Lake Silver Series. I will admit that I wasn’t sure about these two, but their story was great and S.J. McCoy did a really good job with this couple. I liked getting to know more about them and especially Izzy’s past which made me understand her decisions and the choices she made with men. I also appreciated that Diego gave her the time to come into their relationship, he is definitely a stand-up guy and definitely hero material plus he’s sexy as well. I did tear up quite a few times especially with Izzy and Zack and her request from him at the end and her and Sophie and realizing that they are definitely kindred spirits and I think going forward, their relationship will blossom and hopefully help them both let go of some of their scars from the past. I was also excited to hear from Manny. My favorite line from this story is, “Life doesn’t stay the same. It changes and it moves on.” Looking forward to Manny’s book and all the other books heading our way.
This is such a good book. I am a lot like Izzy thought she was, and don’t always like big, macho men who think they are God’s gift. But I have to say that I really like Diego as I got to know him better through the book. I was glad to see that Izzy was not impressed with his money. She didn’t even want to give him the time of day at first. Since Audrey is Izzy’s best friend and Ted is Diego’s best friend, the two are thrown together a lot. I was glad that Diego didn’t give up trying with Izzy. She has some issues she needs to get over. I was glad that Izzy had the good advice of her close friend Audrey. I want to live at Summer Lake and have all the friends to hang around with. I loved the ending of the book and had some happy tears. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
S.J.McCoy sure did kick things up a notch with Where the Rainbow Ends. When Diego first met Izzy he knew there was something special about her. He just didn't know what it was. He was determined to find out and get to know her.
Izzy had her guard up from the moment she met Diego. She thought he was just another controlling macho man who needed his ego stroked all the time. It may have taken her awhile (a long while) but she found out how wrong she was about him. There were things from her past that put up all her walls. Diego was a patient man who was determined to break them down and win her over.
I loved every minute of this book and didn't want it to end. You will shed a few tears while following Izzy and Diego on their journey but in the end they will be tears of joy when they reach their happy ever after.
I absolutely love the chemistry between these two! I loved that because of Diego, Izzy is finally working through her hang ups/past demons. Diego is such a kind soul and I love him for her. As always, it was nice catching up with the Summer lake crew especially Zack and Maria and Ted and Audrey. I love that all of these books can be stand alone books but also give you so much more if you've read them all. This is such a heartwarming story, and I highly recommend it. And don't let the fact that this is an older couple deter you. I'm 31, and these characters are my parents age but that didn't take away from the story for me. It captured my heart just as much as the books about the younger generation. Can't wait for the next one!
I received an ARC for my honest review. Here it is....I love visiting our friends at the lake. This is book four in the Summer Lake Silver Series. You could read it as a stand alone however If you haven't read any of SJ wonderful stories I do suggest that you go to her page and read the books in order to get the full experience. There are so many wonderful characters who show up in each story. I was immediately drawn to Izzy's character in Ted & Audrey's story "A Little Rain Must Fall" and I couldn't wait to see what was in store for Izzy and Diego. SJ had me hooked from the very beginning with her stories and I am always excited for the next one.
I was given an arc for an honest review. SJ McCoy has done it again. I love visiting Summer Lake, but wasn’t sure about these two characters. Diego is a strong minded man who has a lot of bumps in his past. Isabol is a strong minded women with a traumatic past. They are both single and players. Diego realizes Izzys past has something to do with her present and becomes a friend until she is ready to try a relationship. Izzy and Diego’s son Zach work through any reservations and Zach supports Diego and Izzy’s relationship. With Izzys past she becomes a kindred spirit to Sophie who has had a similar past and they build a answer bond. I cannot wait to see what else happens at the lake!
This story will make you laugh, cry and touch you in a way I can't explain. It is kind of like being on a rollercoaster. If you have never read any of SJ 's books, though they are stand alone she has the characters interact in all her books. I would suggest read them i order this way you will get to know everyone and when show up in another book you will be happy to catch up with them. The first 3books are in a boxed set and get this they are free! She also has a couple other books that are free. Believe me your going to love her books. Happy Reading!
Lord have mercy !! This series just keeps getting better and better and better.
I really have no words for this one. Diego is to die for. Izzy is snarky and sassy and so afraid to love. But she has the biggest heart and it takes time and patience before she will let Diego in and trust him. Truly beautiful love story.
Being an older person myself, I'm thoroughly enjoying these hot, amazing reading adventures featuring the "older" crowd. We may be old, but we ain't dead. :) :)
You can never go wrong with an SJ McCoy book. Treat yourself and check this one out.
I really enjoy SJ McCoy's Silver series! They are about finding love after 50. When Izzy and Diego meet, sparks fly! But Izzy is not impressed by Diego's macho attitude and over-confidence. Or is she? But she likes young boy toys that she can control, she takes the role of cougar seriously. But Diego see something more in Izzy, he thinks they could have a chance. He pursues her against her lack of interest, but finally breaks through her barriers. They have fun, but will it last? Who would not want a man like Diego?! Must read!
This is the 4th book in this wonderful series and is Diego and Izzy’s story. Izzy has some trust issues to overcome and prefers younger men as she is in control. Diego has a family that is important to him, but can he convince Izzy to take a chance on them? This is a beautifully written story which is a heart-warming tale, and I was completely captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more in this phenomenal series which I highly recommend for all.
After reading a little rain must fall, I've been impatiently waiting for this book. I was a little sceptical, a womanizer and a cougar (I'm sorry)... but I really liked Izzy in a little rain must fall because she's such a good friend to Audrey. I wondered if she'd find her HEA. I loved the chemistry between Diego and Izzy, and I totally warmed up to the characters, they were not what I first thought they'd be.
Diego and Izzy are a great couple but there is not enough story about them. I felt as though I was rereading Ted and Audrey’s romance. There is not enough substance and too much glossing over. So much more should have been brought up Diego’s background as an example, how he made his money so many questions with too few answers. 3.5⭐️⭐️🌟Stars is my take on this one.
When they first met he was wanting to be with her. But Izzy was only into younger men. Diego learned that he has to make her a friend before he makes her his. She has a very rocky past due to her childhood. She could never have her own family with children. And a past marriage enforced the idea. But with the charm that he has going for him make make her dream of one loyal man become a reality.
Another great trip to the lake. This time up Deigo and Izzy. Loved sweet talking macho Deigo but had a bit of trouble with Isobel attitude for most of the book. Usually love the strong female leads but not this time until her interaction with Sophie and her talk with Deigo. Gave us more background on why she was the way she was.
McCoy did it again! A fantastic story about two people who were made for each other. I loved the inner turmoil and the fact that it didn't stretch out unendingly. Also, it's wonderful reading about other Summer Lake inhabitants as their story weaves into the current novel's plot. I recommend this book! Thanks, S.J.!!
I’m glad that Izzy finally believed Diego that he felt about her was real! And her best friend was with his best friend, his son more than ok with them being together. I cried and laughed while reading this book. Now Manny needs a lovely woman to fall for so he can have his happy ending like Diego and Ted have!
Loving the Silver Series. As a mature reader it’s nice to see main characters in their fifties who find their happily ever after. Family and friendships are the main focal point of this story and how they help Izzie and Diego find their happy ending. Loved catching up with the characters from “Summer Lake” and as always look forward to the next in the series 😊
I am in LOVE with Diego! He is a true man and shows his love and earns Izzy's trust. Everyone deserves true love and happiness, even if it takes decades to find. I love catching up with all the characters in Summer Lake as well as meeting new personalities in each book. This Silver Series shows there is love past 50!
Oh I just loved Diego and Izzy story!! They had such a connection!! But Izzy had a past the made her not want to trust men that are big and strong and full of themselves!! But she quickly learned Diego wasn't like that!! He was kind and loving just what she needed!! I would recommend this book to everyone!
They met at the Boathouse. Diego and Ted were about ready to turn in when Izzy bumped into Diego. Ted and Audrey hit it off. Diego was interested in Izzy but she not at all with him. We get to see their love grow as they get to know each other. I really enjoy Ms McCoy's stories and the characters.
I’ll be honest, I had a big problem with Izzy at the beginning, she‘s rude and insulting a lot of the time. It comes from a place of pain and distrust and once we find out why, it’s understandable. I grew to respect her fire and ice and actually think she’s perfect for all that is Diego, and he’s adorable. Over the top sex but utterly lovable.
I knew Izzy was going to fight her attraction to Diego and it was nice to see her let go and give a little to trust again. Love Diego, strong alpha who knows what he wants but also knows when to go slow. All the Summer Lake stories are great but I'm especially loving the Silver series

Absolutely loved this story so much I didn't want it to end. But I know their story will go on in others that follow. I look forward to meeting them again really soon. Thank you SJ hugs xx
Where the Rainbow Ends (Summer Lake Silver Book 4)
Another beautiful story, five stars are not enough. I liked everything about this story and readers will enjoy it. Thank you for this story and the rest of this series.
The fourth book in the series is a spicy sweet romance between Diego and Izzy, who are best friends with Ted and Audrey from "A Little Rain Must Fall". Their story is sweet and romantic and just a little steamy.
Another wonderful silver book from Summer Lake. Izzy doesn’t have a family but Diego wants to share his with her. Will it happen? Diego must earn her trust first.
