This fits so well with the canon and shows everything that was going on behind the scene. Well if Sirius didn’t die...

I’ve been having insomnia bouts and INHALED this as entertainment in my haze of living off 2-3 hours of sleep a night.
Very good. Cried. The continuous jumping through time messed with me a bit (very likely due to my continued lack of sleep) but I got the hang of it. Crazy that it took the writer six years to finish. Cried. The characters were super vivid and felt like real people. A lot of the dialogue reminded me of things my boyfriend says to me. Cried.
As always with fics if it’s over 100k words I am COUNTING IT towards my reading goals and if you complain to me refer me to continuous adjacent literature with accurate queer representation and then we can talk about what is and is not valuable to my personal literary canon.

"And I have learned from at least some of my multiple mistakes. I will never keep a secret from Sirius, ever again."
This was just EVERYTHING I wanted it to be 😭 the best resolution and possible end canon could've given us. I loved seeing their love through the years, how mature they grew up to be, and how that changed their relationship. They went through so much, and that just made them love each other even more.
"We're the last ones, Sirius whispers. "We're the last ones." "But at least," Remus says, because he's been here before, "we have each other this time."
And Harry... oh, my baby. He's so gentle yet so broken. He deserved to live and grow up with his godparents :( to have a family. This is the best outcome he could have gotten, and I'm so happy for it. Wolfstar's relationship with him was everything to me. And Sirius calling himself his parent and calling him his child😭
"None of you, absolutely none of you, have sacrificed what he has for this Order. Severus discounts love, he derides it as a weakness, but Sirius is here today because he loves his godson, because he loved James"
"Sirius is worrying about him so much that he thinks it counts for both James and Lily."
This is basically my canon now. It felt so real, and I just loved being able to see their relationship through the years, how much they changed, and how the war broke them, but they never really stopped loving each other.
"He finds himself pleading with the Sirius in his imagination, 'Please tell me how we can make this right. I never stopped loving you. Please.'"
In a way, I think everything they went through just made them stronger and more aware of their love for each other.
"This is new, and it's better than last time." He searches Remus's face, sees the care in it, and hopes he doesn't start crying again. "Much better."

Que história incrível! É muito dificil encontrar longfics Wolfstar onde eles já são dois adultos fatigados pela vida, as perdas, as dores e as traições, ainda mais tão bem escritas assim. Acho que essa fanfic faz um belo trabalho ao nos apresentar as versões mais maduras do Sirius e do Remus e contruir o amor deles a partir disso, esse é o tipo de história que vai crescendo no seu coração conforme os capítulos passam, um vai ficando melhor e mais consistente que o outro e é impossivel não ficar cada vez mais envolvido. O destaque vai pros Capítulos fo Peter e do Regulus que são FENÔMENAIS, a autora faz um estudo de personagens que é digno de prêmios, principalmente no do Peter, um personagem tão abstrato que as vezes fica dificil de entender como e porque ele fez tudo que fez, e essa fanfic lançou luz sob a persona e motivações dele de forma realmente fantástica. Os personagens secundários também são muito bem utilizados aqui, a Ordem da Fênix como um todo é bem presente e o Remus como líder aaaaar foi tudo pra mim! Com certeza uma das melhores fics pra mim, os Wolfstar de Remain in Light são uma das melhores catacterizações que eu ja vi desses personagens, totalmente meus papais né 🤧❤️

The book jumps around a lot and is structured in discordant vignettes. Some elements just felt ridiculous. Appreciated the non-toxic Wolfstar moments though
