I don’t know if I can keep that promise. She’s thrown me off the path I set forth for my imprisoned heart. But now, am I forced to break that promise I made to myself so long ago?
Bella Emy's Imprisoned is a steamy second chance contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg's Everyday Heroes Worlds Project.
USA Today Bestselling Author. She loves all books, but her favorite genre to read, as well as write, is romance. Bella loves creating heartbreaking stories that will deeply touch her readers, but in the end, a good HEA is usually the turnout.
Whenever Bella is not typing away on her computer with a nice hot cup of coffee, she loves spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite places to go are the movies, the beach, or just on a good plain old road trip. Some of her must haves are coffee, chocolate, pizza, music, & movies.
This is my first Everyday Heroes World book. Officer Maddox Martineilli is a complex character that has been challenged with a few bumps in life. He has returned to his home town and found his two best friends, Rick and Adelyn are not just best friends anymore but are a couple now. Maddox realizes that he has missed his romantic chance with Adelyn. I enjoyed the story, the characters I met and the ups and downs these characters had to go through to find their HEA. Enjoy!
This book is part of the Everyday Hero's World and is a fantastic book and as soon as I started reading this book I was hooked. This book is a real second chance romance that you will love and is a great addition to this series.
Maddox is a cop and has been away from for a few years, but before he went he had a close relationship with Adelyn and his other best friend Rick but what he didn't expect was for them both to be in a relationship, his best friends. The problem is he has always loved her truly and now he thinks its to late and knows now that he cant say what he really feels to either of them and just tries to carry on that is until fate steps in and everything changes.
I really enjoyed reading this book and at times it had my emotions in a vice. I love how this author writes and her stories always flow throughout. These characters were written brilliantly and and as the reader I could really connect with them, and I loved how this author created the story with all the bumps along the way. This book was a great read and I highly recommend this author and her books.
The author has written a second chance romance with so much heart I couldn't put it down. Maddox gave me all the feels and I truly felt for him. His feelings were for Adelyn were real and I felt his pain. Even when fate steps in, it's not easy but I was hooked and I loved how the author wove the other characters in.
Anytime I pick up anything by Bella Emy, she never ceases to amaze me and yet again she’s done just that. It’s like every time I pick up one of her stories it’s like I’m reading her work for the very first time, as if I’m just discovering her and I love that’s how she makes my reading experience. As soon as I started reading this, I was gripped because the story just wrapped itself around me and honestly I was impressed. I know that this book is part of K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds Project, but I loved how Bella incorporated some of her characters from her previous books, it made the book feel a little more personal to her and that shined through her writing so much. I never get tired or enough of reading her work as it’s always just incredible. I honestly can’t fault anything in the book because it was well thought out and you can tell just from the writing that Bella poured her heart and soul in it. I did feel for Maddox quite a bit, as when he was made to leave, it wasn’t just because he was going after something all that mighty, but because he didn’t want to loose his career. But I can understand the heartbreak that he felt when he got back and discovered that his two best friends were together, that can’t have been easy on him, I know from personal experiences that it’s not easy to go through daily seeing someone you care for, who you think of as yours, being with someone else. But there’s a lot of surprises in this book that I never saw coming. I honestly recommend that you give this a try because it’s such a heart-breaking story, but it’s so worth the read.
Adelyn. She is such a beauty and she was close with Maddox before he got transferred out of the county… However, now that he’s back it’s clear life has changed, but Maddox honestly didn’t see it coming that Adelyn was no longer his and that she was now in the hands of his best friend. It hits him hard, but he knows for a fact that he can’t ever let his feeling out loud in person, especially to his best friend. As things progress with both Rick and Adelyn, Maddox is just breaking on the inside, so he decides to hold back and see them both less and less, but as things take a turn for the worse whilst on the job with Rick, will everything work out in the end??? What happens when it becomes apparent that his father is ill??? Will Maddox push everything down and go and see him or is everything too late???
Maddox “Mad Dog” Martinelli is back in California. He was transferred to a police department in New Jersey for the last five years for an incident that happened. But now he is back and things seem to be great. Until his partner on one of his best friends, Rick, tells him he is now dating their other best friend Adelyn.
Adelyn is the girl that Maddox loved, but never told her, before he left. Now he is trying to swallow down his feelings and feel happy for them as a couple. But his feelings for Adelyn lie just under the surface and he is struggling to not care.
This story didn’t have a great continuity of flow for me and felt jumpy. I often felt uncomfortable but rick’s lewd comments about Adelyn and his incessant need to ask Maddox if he was ok with it. At first I thought it was a ruse to get Maddox to finally act on his feelings. Overall, the premise was a great one, but just not for me.
Imprisoned by Bella Emy is part of the Everyday Hero's World. It's an amazing and realistic story; that as I started reading Maddox Martinelli, Adelyn Pierce and Patrick "Rick" Hemmings story it captivated me and kept me hooked.
Maddox, Adelyn and Rick are best friends... Maddox got sent away for a few years, upon his return, he got the unexpected news his two best friends were in a relationship... As he sees them to together he realizes he's loved Adelyn even before he was sent away. He goes through the motions of supporting his best friends and then one fateful day things change.
I loved the storyline, was well written and real. The characters go through some major ups, downs and in between. Will Maddox reveal his feelings? Gotta read to find out! Bella's stories are amazing and I knew this one was another hit!
He was reassigned to NJ from CA because he couldn’t control his temper. Now he’s back in his hometown and his home police department. He has a lot of bridges to mend after five years. His father is holding a grudge and his two best friends have a secret that they’ve been keeping for two years. Can Maddox find his place back in his hometown and the Chester Police Department? Maddox’s two best friends from his childhood are Patrick “Rick” and Adelyn, when he had to move to New Jersey for his reassignment, he kept in touch with Rick, but not too closely with Adelyn.
A story of a second chance at love with the one person that they loved when they were younger may not be possible, but when tragedy strikes Maddox and Adelyn may find their way to each other. Maddox has to mend some bridges in his life after the way he had to leave to go to New Jersey, but he’s older now and with that maturity comes knowledge and self-control.
I really enjoyed this story, and the characters were great. It has tragedy, love, family, action and lifelong friendships. Maddox is a man on a mission but he’s also a man that doesn’t want to betray a close friendship, so he is willing to sacrifice what he wants for that friendship. I give this book a 5-star review and look forward to more of the Everyday Heroes World books.
What an emotional must read. We continue to read about Maddox, Adelyn and Rick. After being gone for 5 years, Maddox comes home to New Jersey. When he sees his best friend Rick, he finds out him and Adelyn are now together and have been for a couple of years. He’s definitely heartbroken at hearing this. He continues to hide his feelings he has for her, but there are others in his circle that know how he truly feels for Adelyn. He puts his feelings aside and tries to just be there for them as their best friend. You can tell throughout the story that it’s so hard for him. Seeing them show love and affection toward each other makes Maddox feel he’s lost Adelyn forever. Are Adelyn and Rick truly happy together? Wait til you find out! It seems they love and care for each other deeply. When something happens to Rick, what will that be, how will Adelyn and Maddox react? Will this incident actually pull them together or tear them apart? All I wanted to see was Maddox happy and with the one person who always held the key to his heart.
From the opening scene until the very end, this story engaged my emotions. Bella does a fabulous job of capturing the attention of this reader with the first few paragraphs and took me on one rollercoaster of a journey. The sweet moments were beautiful, the emotional moments were raw and real, and the fun moments rounded out this story to make it one incredible read.
Many of us have been there, when you realized your feelings for someone when they are no longer available. In the case of this story, a big event occurs that makes our hero wonder if he should reveal his.
From friendship to romance, laughs to tears (and back again), Bella Emy has presented us with a well-written story with multi-dimensional characters, real, raw emotions, and engaging situations. I would recommend this one to anyone who is a fan of this genre. Great job Bella!
I loved seeing these three grown up and how they’ve changed over the years. My heart went out to all of them with everything they’ve been through and how they find themselves again.
This slow burn romance is one that will have you feeling every emotion and your heart going out to Maddox as he battles with his feelings for Adelyn and accepting that he can’t have her to his family problems and more in between.
The only thing that would make this story better, IMO is to see Adelyn’s POV on some of the situations that take place like we got to see in the prequel, Freedom. I know this story is part of the everyday hero world, but I would definitely like to read more on Mason and Maverick!
These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily after reading for my own personal enjoyment.
When Maddox left it was by necessity rather than choice. Now that he returned to his hometown, he is looking forward to reuniting with his best friends Rick and Adelyn and to tell Adelyn that his feelings for her have always been deeper than friends until he finds out they are now a couple.
Although Adelyn has always had feelings for Maddox, she is planning a future with Rick until life throws them a curve ball they didn’t see coming. Now both she and Max are trying to deal with emotional aftermath of what happened and what that means for the future.
The characters are captivating, and their story takes us on a poignant and romantic journey as they fight to overcome the challenges they are facing.
MMC claims he loved the girl his whole life but when he had to leave for 5 years he dated other women then gets mad when he finds out she's in a relationship. The book is basically him pining away for a woman and telling us about her relationship with another guy whom she gets engaged to. His so called best friend who didn't tell him for 2 6ears. I'm almost 50% in and he's constantly whining about them. I don't see how this could end with him getting the girl because Rick is a nice guy and Ad was happy when he proposed so I'm completely at a loss here why Maddox is the MMC and not Rick. Adelyn says it's been almost a year of planning her wedding so Mad has been whining for over a year
Imprisoned was a great second chance story. It was filled with so much angst and emotions. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't wait to see how it would all turn out. After temporarily being reassigned to California, Maddox is back home and happy to see Adelyn and Rick, his two best friends, or he was happy until Rick tells him that he and Adelyn are together. He tries to be happy for them, until a tragedy happens and Maddox promises Rick that he will take care of Adelyn. He tries to ignore his feelings as long as he can. Will Adelyn ever return his feelings, or has he lost his chance to be with her forever?
I finished this book just a few hours after I received it and I'm still crying here it was so emotional. You could really feel Maddox's emotions so much. I could feel my heartbreak along with his during one scene but he is just determined to keep being a good friend and not tell Rick about his feelings for Add. One scene I was absolutely sure would be in the first few pages was actually close to the end and I think it made the book even better. I really hope there will be more books with these characters and maybe even some of the side characters.
Following on from the prequel Freed, this book is told purely from Maddox's POV. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and read it all in a day. It was so good that I didn't want to put it down. Brilliant storyline, wonderful characters, and loved the HEA. I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, and I'm willingly leaving an honest review.
I loved the dynamics between childhood friends Maddox, Adelyn and Rick. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages between them. The storyline is well written and worth reading.
I received a copy and am voluntary leaving my honest review.
Reading the blurb for this book, I honestly wasn't sure if I would like it or not, but let me tell you, once I started, I could not put this book down. I laughed and cried and was just thrilled with the ending. Bella never lets me down with each new release!
This was good, but not great. The H was a little too whiny and immature given his age and experience. He had a tiff with his father throughout the book and was a baby about seeing him, I feel he could have a bit more "manly". But, the plot was good.
