Rate this book
Time has passed since Danielle Blake left the institution. On her departure Joyce encouraged her to delve into the darkness and explore what her shadow was capable of, but when the darkness proves to be all consuming her shadow begins to take control. With her memories of Peyton stripped from her consciousness and the light she saw in her lost, Danielle can’t help but find comfort in the darkness. Now living in the city, Danielle works for a politician doing illegal jobs for quick pay with other people who are, as her boss puts it, flawed like her. Her boss, Franklin, searches out the lost souls like Danielle and lets them indulge in their sins while doing his dirty work, but when a job goes off plan Danielle is intercepted by a group with another way of thinking. Confronted with the choice of what kind of person she is destined to be, Danielle must decide what path to take. Can she change, or is she destined to be a plague to herself and everything she touches?
