Single parent trope and characters from The Salvation series. Endurance from Alexandra Silva was bound to be an entertaining and intense story. It was.
Avery and her daughter Iris claimed Garrett’s heart immediately and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. His first meeting with Avery in particular was anything but ordinary. No it was brutal but the kind doctor took on his professional glasses and went to work. There was no going back for either of them.
I enjoyed their courtship. It took its delicious time and it should especially with Avery’s past. Their chemistry was palpable and it was great how Garrett slowly got Avery to feel more confident and secure in herself and her needs. Garrett and Avery’s daughter form a special bond. The good doctor wooed me big time.
Besides the romance there’s also angst and suspense which was intertwined very well into the story.
I’ve read Defenseless by Corinne Michaels and it was so good to be back with these characters. They were written flawlessly into the story. It’s not necessary to read it but for fans it’s a treat. Jo a friend of Garrett and Mark was a highlight and an important mother figure to not only the Dixon brothers but also Avery.
Endurance is a fabulous story centered in the Salvation universe. Alexandra Silva has done a wonderful job and delivered all the feels that comes with this genre and tropes. I want my own Doc.

Loved this book so hard!! I was sucked in and could not put it down! Garrett and Avery were so perfect for each other and their chemistry was palpable. I just fell in love with Garrett . Their journey isn’t an easy one and their story is filled with angst, suspense, drama, betrayal, and chemistry. An incredible story and one I recommend.

This book is without a doubt one of my favourite reads of all time. No question about it.
A love story that speaks to your heart and soul. Garrett and Avery define soulmates. They're perfect for one another and their journey isn't easy, but oh my word, is it worth it.
Drama, betrayal, attraction and passion, this book has it all and so so much more.

Endurance is a story of love, strength and perseverance in the midst of soul-crushing adversity. Avery and her daughter Iris met Garrett in the darkest of circumstances and he’s immediately drawn to them, but the past has to be confronted before they can have a future.
“There’s no redemption without forgiveness. You can’t redeem your past if you can’t forgive yourself enough to allow yourself to be happy. And if she looks at you like you hung her moon, you look at her like she is the sun.”
Avery had been beaten down by her previous life and she had slowly lost her identity and confidence. With Garrett’s help, she was able to rediscover herself and become brave enough to stand up for the life she wants for herself and her daughter. Garrett had his own ghosts to fight and Avery gave him the will to do so. He is absolutely swoonworthy.

The romance between these two was slow burn perfection. Their chemistry was evident from their first interaction, but it intensified with each encounter and shared trust. They were truly soulmates who had found their home in each other.

As always this author has created another sensational story that hooks you in from the beginning and literally grabs you by the throat with the action and drama that happens. Then with the incredible unraveling of the mystery there isn’t one single moment when you aren’t absorbed in the storyline, right up to the very end. Then with an amazing romance full of passion and sizzling intimacy added into the mix this truly is a story that encompasses everything, including a fun sense of humour to lighten and balance things out.
Avery is a character who I admired and liked immediately, well, I felt empathy for her too. She had been through so much and continues to go through a lot of angst learning new developments as the story unfolds. Garrett is absolutely perfect for her and what I liked so much is the way they are honest with each other and become annoyed if they think the other one has done something wrong, which is real. I liked the other characters too especially Iris who is an adorable sweetheart and when you consider her father’s lack of support, care or interest an amazing little girl. Jo, of course, is her great self, ready to take more strays under her wing and show them how much they are worth.
The suspense is great because little by little tiny pieces of the over puzzle are slotted into place, yet as per this author’s intricate mind and ways of thinking, there are plenty of twists and turns and foggy bits where you literally have to read on to simply discover the whole picture clearly—and you do.
I totally recommend this book to everyone.

I’m sitting here in a book hangover daze because I stayed up so late last night to finish this book because I could not put it down! Garrett..... swoon...... Garrett.... I’m sure there’s plenty else to say about him but man the way he loves is just all the damn feels! Especially when Avery is such a strong woman who deserves nothing but love.
Avery is a mum who has been through some tough experiences but the strength she gains throughout this book is great to read. Garrett has a history with women that he isn’t proud of, but when he meets Avery and her daughter, all bets are off and the way he cares for, protects and adores them makes you fall in love with him yourself! Silva also delivers her amazing twists and turns and suspense that adds intrigue and depth to a beautiful love story.

This was actually my introduction into the Salvation Society world and what an introduction it was. Alexandra Silva takes us into some political drama and suspense with Garrett and Avery's story. From the beginning, I wanted to wrap Avery in my arms and protect her from what she deemed her life. I guess Garrett felt the same way. Not all roads are safe and easy which both main characters are finding out. Steamy? Absolutely. Romance? Plenty of it. Suspense? A fair amount. The urge to throttle the author? You betcha? A satisfying ending although personally I would have loved more detail about what, why and how the suspense came about (vague I know lol).

This was yet another amazing book by this talented author that I didn't want to end even though it was already girthy.
Yes it was on the lighter side of suspense than I'm used to from her, but certainly no less captivating.
The characters and plot will steal your heart and refuse to let go. Although there were a few things I'm not quite sure on to completely tie things up, I hope it just means we'll see them again.

I am a sucker for a single parent romance, especially when it's the mom. I was hooked on Avery and Garrett's story from the beginning. I was swooning at how Garrett just takes over and knows they are both his. The story is not easy but the drama and suspense just adds to the tension simmering. It's sweet and sexy.

Another excellent story by Alexandra Silva. I have yet to be disappointed with any of her stories! The way that you get to know the characters and how the storyline is developed, it grabs you from the beginning and never lets you go. With this story, I was so engaged and loved the twists and turns in the storyline along with the passion of the two main characters. Avery and Garrett's story is the ultimate love story!

This read was such an emotional heartwarming story.
Garrett was nothing but a gentleman with Avery and I couldn't help but love him even more!
Their story was far from an easy one, there was drama, angst and heartbreak but nothing could keep them from their forever.

This single parent survival book had me hooked from the beginning. Avery is a strong woman who is dealing with an abusive relationship as well as loss of loved ones. Garrett is just a man she needs. He is dealing with his own past and Avery proves that love really can heal wounds. They are perfect together! The characters, as well as their growth throughout the story, are very well written. If you’re in the mood for a sweet love story with a side of danger, this is for you!

What a read this one was. I love single parent books but this is definitely one of my favourites. The storyline, characters, absolutely everything was just perfect. The little glimpses of the original characters was also perfect. I couldn't get enough. An absolutely incredible story that was so perfectly written.

I loved every minute of this book. I am somewhat familiar with The Salvation Series and I think the author did a spectacular job bringing these characters into the world. Avery and Garrett have a one kind of love that made me swoon. They were made for each other... true soulmates. Both took the leap together and the journey paid off. Plus holy exploding ovaries with Garrett and his relationship with Avery’s daughter. OMG! A must read!!

There aren't many books that I sit back and say WOW to, but Endurance sure is! This has to be one of the best books I've read....EVER. The path for Garrett and Avery isn't an easy one but it shows that when soulmates find one another nothing and no one stands in their way. Drama unfolds, destiny is tested, and love is left standing in this beautifully written book. Amazing!!!!

Once again Alexandra Silva has penned a beautiful, heart warming romance with plenty of drama, angst and action to satisfy everyone's appetites, making it well worthy of a five star rating.
Having not read any other books in the The Salvation Society, or Corinne Michael's series from which they are generated, I was not sure what I was stepping into and whether or not I would be confused with previous story character introduction. But Silva seamlessly introduced not only this story, but wove other edition characters into it with ease, leaving no gaps in the readers knowledge to appreciate this wonderful story.
Straight out the gate, the author has your heart breaking for her heroine Avery.
A victim of domestic violence and running scared from her abusive husband she turns to her friends Mark and Charlie, whose story is Corinne Michaels', Defenseless.
Mark recruits his Cardiologist brother, Garrett, to tend to a broken Avery when she arrives in Virginia, and their tentative connection is immediately palpable and their subsequent tenuous courtship is beautifully and respectfully written by this talented author.
Amidst the turmoil of dealing with her broken marriage, the grief of losing her father and the seedy secrets behind her husbands nefarious dealings and betrayal, Garrett is exactly what Avery needs to heal not only her body, but her heart and her faith in herself and in love.
This story is perfectly executed and paced, and laden with the cameos of wonderful supporting characters; in particular Avery's adorable and spirited daughter Iris, whose own blossoming relationship with Garrett will play havoc with your heartstrings.
Though, it's Garrett who steals the show for me.
This man is one of the most swoon-worthy heroes I have ever read.
His devotion and determination to show Avery her worth, to not only him but to herself, earns him his own five star rating!

I absolutely loved this book! A perfect example of redemption and new beginnings!
Endurance is part of the Salvation Society collection that links to the world created by Corinne Michaels and Alexandra Silva has seamlesslyand beautifully weaved her characters into this world!
This book tells the story of Dr Garrett Dixon - the once less favourable brother to the hilarious Mark Dixon (my favourite of Corinnes characters) as he becomes the man he should be! At the end of Corinnes series we saw him tentatively taking steps towards building bridges with his family and feeling the remorse for his past. Endurance begins as he meets Avery and her daughter Iris, a woman running from her own past. Garrett is determined to be a better man. A worthy man. The man that Aveey needs to help her through her turmoil.
The road to their happy ever after isn’t an easy one, but they navigate it together. Garrett stole my heart as he stole Avery and Iris' and I loved how the story unfolded.
The way that Alexandra has linked so much of Corinnes world is incredible.

Endurance is a story in the Salvation-Society series and absolutely deserves to be there. With this story Alexandra Silva wrote another excellent book. Her writing is captivating, her characters are painted so realistic and this one in particular was also absolutely thrilling.
Avery manages to escape her abusive husband at the very last minute. With her is her daughter Iris, who had to experience her father's hate and assaults against her mother. He was always indifferent to Iris. But Avery wants more for herself and for her daughter. And thank God she has help from some old friends and some new ones, where she can stay so that she and Iris can heal.

Endurance was a fantastic story that while wasn't short, I still found myself needing so much more of these characters in my life. The moment I picked it up, I sure didn't put it down until every last page was devoured because it was impossible to put down. Avery's life has gone down the drain in a very short time as her husband is a scum sucking pig, her friend may or may not be her friend, and her father died. Garrett is a doctor with a whole lot of demons from a marriage that didn't make it, so he had no faith that he would be able to find someone to create a family with. The way Garrett & Avery met was brutally emotional so I found myself with leaky eyes because of it. As Avery starts to heal from everything in her life, that husband of hers isn't about to let things go so there are crazy twists peppered throughout the story of two soulmates developing into something amazing. Add in Avery's daughter Iris & the secondaries, we get a lot of humor in the pages with a big kicker of heat rounding it out. I promise everyone needs this story in their lives so you know what to do! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Avery is in an abusive situation with her daughter, and it's time for her daughter it's time to fight for them. When she leaves and goes to the ones she knows will protect them she does whatever she can to protect her baby. When Avery and Iris meet Garrett things start to change. They have a connection with the three of them, but for Avery, she has to do what is right for her daughter. Garrett is a sweetheart and will do what he can to protect Avery and her daughter. These two will have their ups and downs but sometimes that might not be enough to save the ones you love. Find out how this love story plays out and if Avery and Iris get their HEA.

What a beautiful story! I am not really familiar with this author, only read a short story, but I now see I should pay more attention cause this story got me hooked right from the start and didn't let go until the very end.
Garrett is such an amazing man and I couldn't help but fall for the doctor who saw a woman and her daughter and immediately felt like he wanted her and wanted better for them.
It's definitely not a easy road for them, especially since they have quite a few hurdles in their way, but these two, or I should say 3, are so worth it.

Endurance (The Salvation Society) by Alexandra Silva is the first book I have read from this author and I look forward to reading more of her work. I loved Garrett and Avery’s story. It was full of drama, suspense, heartbreak and passion. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!
