Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.
i am so biased because i love spotfur and stemleaf but whooo cares i never claimed to be giving objective reviews. the little tidbits of her "childhood" so to speak were fun and i thought the way the first chapter of the novella mirrored the bramblestar fight was interesting. stemleaf was willing to take the fall for what he believed but more importantly for spotfur, if he believed what she was doing was right. god, spotstem make me sick (positive).
i can't speak on any plot holes this novella caused since my memory of the broken code is spotty, half because i read it three years ago and half because i never actually finished it. i only read this to see more spotfur and i got what i wanted.

April 2021 Oooh, I loved this one. I didn't expect to like Spotfur so much, but I honestly love her. It was fun to read about her past and get to know her--and through her, Stemleaf--better. It gave some really good context to the main plot, especially regarding the rebels' mistrust of Bristlefrost. Stemleaf's death actually brought me to tears this time around. Very good novella; Spotfur is definitely one of my favorites now.

I like Spotfur and Stemleaf, but this book was unnecessary. It was supposed to show why Spotfur and Stemleaf decided to attack the Imposter in Bramblestar's body, going behind the backs of the other Rebels. However, we already knew why they did that and this books adds nothing to the story, and serves no purpose.
Also, it is wrapped up a little too fast, so it looks as if Spotfur gets over Stemleaf's death very quickly.

I feel like most of the book was a drag. But I really liked how it fleshed out Stem x Spot more. In the main arcs it just seemed so sudden, but now I like it more. It was depressing when Stemleaf died and I felt for Spotfur's loneliness. I like how Squirrelflight comforted her in a motherly way.

Spotfur’s Rebellion was quite the average Warriors novella but the first material in the series that I liked in a while. Like the name suggests, this novella follows Spotfur, starting again with her as an apprentice up to her conspiring against Brambelstar in the course of The Broken Code – if you’ve read this one, you already know how this plot will end. We have some small moments that I liked, like the section around Flipkit. Also, I enjoyed the snowy and rainy settings here.
It’s a surprise but I actually liked Spotpaw/Spotfur. It’s so funny how she’s always doing mischief as an apprentice. I appreciate that for once, a female cat doesn’t hate the other female cats. Here, this is Bristlefrost. I was still annoyed though how much she’s focussed on Stempaw as an apprentice. Another thing about the characters that I liked was that Fernsong actually cared for his kits here how he planned to.
As a last note, the German translation has so many mistakes which is so unfortunate. Even the translators don’t put as much care into the series as they used to.
I like Spotfur so it was nice to see a book from her perspective, however most of the book is repeated scenes. I did like her character growth, though I think it would have been better to not make her rebellious for the sake of it. It makes her rebel group seem like a game. I did enjoy the Stemleaf and Spotfur moments though :)
3 stars This book wasn't bad but again it was a novella so nothing much happened. It was kinda repetitive of what had already happen in other books I don't think it was necessary. I thought getting a deeper dive into Spotfur's and Stemleaf's relationship was kinda cool, but other than that this book was kinda just there.
bristlefrost annoyed me in the original thinking"whys he like her whats so great abt her" basically, like bro he was bestfriends with her for a long time and you were irrelevant.
I love Spotfur, but this novella felt a little unnecessary. It was interesting to see how she’s grown but it didn’t add much to the overall story. Not an amazing book, but still a Warriors book.
