I mean, who would want to kill me? I make friends, not enemies. I live in the coziest, sweetest town on earth, and I own a yarn store. I’m a knitter for goodness sake! Knitters are like the Golden Retrievers of humankind. Everybody loves us.
At first, I was sure it was a case of mistaken identity. Now I’m not as sure. My friends and family are rallying around me to keep me safe. They act overly cautious and say things like, “just in case.”
My boyfriend, the cop, is taking a leave of absence from work to be my personal bodyguard.
My mother-friend, Connie won’t let me work in my own yarn store “just in case” the shooter looks for me there.
My best friend April goes everywhere with me. Actually, I don’t mind thia part, I love April and we have a blast together, even when we’re hunting for a killer.
Does someone really want me dead? Who? Why? Is it someone I know? The police think it might be.
Can I follow my instincts and unravel the clues before they try again?
A great story from the first few pages that kept me reading to figure out the mystery. Storylines are great, character development is great also. On to number five for me.
I listened to this book and found it thoroughly enjoyable. It is a standalone book. I liked the premise. Case of mistaken identity but how to prove you were not the intended victim. Megan can’t be alone. Her friends are fearful for her life.
I found this story well-thought out. The narrator does an excellent job of bring the story to life. It just enhanced the written book.
I recommended this series to anyone who enjoys a good puzzler of a mystery.
I really enjoyed this book. This is book four in this fun series and when bullets start to fly in the first few pages I wondered if I had missed anything, I hadn't and all will be revealed. It's just a great start to the story and grabs you interest as you try to work out why kind and friendly yarn store owner Megan might be a target for a killer. There was plenty of suspects and I had worked it out but it was more of a guess than knew for certain. I liked how it played out and thought it was an interesting mystery with the mix up. The knitting reference are mostly kept to the title of each book, so don't worry if knitting isn't your thing because Megan is too busy investigating a murder to pick up stitches and hardly spends any time in the shop but it is nice to have a different profession for a cozy mystery. I love the characters in this series, who are likeable and feel like one big happy family, even ex's are worried about making it a nice cozy mystery and less about the family drama that sometimes takes over a story. Looking forward to the next story. When Megan is nearly run off the road and has bullet holes in her car her friends and family to into protective mode. Her cop boyfriend is worried she is a target because of his job and takes time off to play bodyguard. Her best friend won't let her out of her sight and even her ex husband wants to move back in just in case. So what is going on? Megan doesn't start to unravel it until a body is found and it proves that just maybe she was right, she wasn't the target. Can Megan convince her friends that she needs to investigate the murder in order to feel safe again? Or will the case being in two different jurisdiction and being investigated by two different policemen mean it will go cold? I liked the narrator. She brings the characters to life and the story just flies by, a sign of a good book. I was given this free review copy audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.
Oh WOW!!!!!! This is another fantastic book! The story was wonderful and entertaining. In my opinion, the book kept my attention and interest throughout its entirety so much I had a hard time putting the book down. In fact, I read it in one night. I thought the mystery was engaging and had many twists and turns till the end. Excellent character development led to realistic characters entwined with a well-developed plot that leaves you guessing who the actual murderer really was. I have grown very fond of the characters, they are phenomenal, in this series, and I just love how their interpersonal relationships have progressed over time. I also really love trying to figure out who the murderer is along with Megan as she tracks down the killer and the clues.
If you like cozy mysteries with a bit of humor, small town Canadian life, a hint of romance, a close circle of quirky, lovable characters that you wish you knew in real life, dogs and cats then this book is for you. Highly recommend!
I received this book as a beta reader for an honest opinion.
Megan is in the middle of a murder investigation again! But this time, she may be the target herself. I love Megan and the other characters. There always seems to be a little humorous spin on Megan’s thoughts and the situations she gets herself into. This story seems to be an almost impossible mystery regarding who is the murderer. But Megan and her friend April are still determined to do some investigating on their own. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was easy to listen to. View more
I received a free copy of this book but my review is entirely voluntary. I have only read the last two book in this series but I highly recommend it to cozy mystery lovers. Each book can stand alone so if you haven't read the others, do not worry but you will want to read the other books just to see the relationships between the characters grow. In Twisted Stitches, it appears someone is after Megan. Does she have an enemy who wants her gone or is it mistaken identity. The mystery is full of twists and I love the humor sprinkled throughout. The characters are wonderfully developed and really do feel like friends or family to the reader. I eagerly await the next book in this series.
They are such good mysteries and so much fun to read I had to 5star it even though I don’t usually give a 5 to a “cozy” mystery. The characters are so realistically created that I feel like I know them all; and if I got to live in an adorable small town I’d want it to be Harmony Lake. Although, on second thought, as the most recent member of the community I might become a victim! (The mysteries aren’t that easy.) Still, I can’t wait for book 6. I have an overwhelming desire to give knitting another try even though my knitting has more holes than a lace shawl.
This is one of the best cozy mystery series I have read in a very long time. I am always a little sad when I finish one of Reagan's books. I am glad there is going to be a 5th book as I have something to look forward to. The characters are fun and I the mix of personal and mysteries is perfect. If someone were to ask I could not come up with one negative thing to say. I am in a knitting/ccrochet "slump" at the moment with these books inspire me to get out my needles or hooks.
I've lived in Northern Ontario most of my life. The book captures the spirit of a Northern community perfectly. I felt I knew the town. I was disappointed when the story ended until I turned that last page and discovered there would be more books to come. I'm off to Timmy's to get a double double and use their wifi to get the rest of the books,
Hard to put down, this book kept me entertained through an ear infection. Megan finds herself an almost victim, then helps solve the crime when two bodies do show up. Love the development of the characters, as well as the amount of information given to keep the reader guessing up to the end.
Another good instalment in the series. The characters are rounded and well-written, the plot has sufficient twists and turns to keep it interesting. I especially love Megan’s found family!
I can’t stop reading this series of mystery books. Megan owner of knitorious is a charming sleuth. Murders just happen around her. One of the supporting characters described her as ‘being made of questions’. The town Harmony Lake is fun and the townspeople interesting. What isn’t there to like about these books combining knitting, pets, romance and murder!
5 stars So very good. Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2020
I loved this story! The characters are so realistic and developing more fully in each consecutive story. This mystery is well written with plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing. Reading these stories is like visiting friends that yo know and love. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
I love this series! I love to knit and I love my planner, so I got a kick out of both being included in this book! I love how the characters are developing and the results are never predictable! This is a great series by a great author! I definitely recommend it!
I always find it hard to write reviews for books that I like a lot. (My reviews are mostly intended for my own information, anyway.) What haven't I said yet about this series? Oh, I know! I love the clever names for all the shops in her town. I won't name them here. I'll leave them for the pleasant discovery of those who have yet to read any books in the series.
I also appreciate that the author or publisher has put this series on Kindle Unlimited. I actually did read it in Kindle format, but once again that wasn't a choice when I had to pick which edition I was reading.
I like how this book picks up where the last book stopped. A fast and fun series of books to read. Some of the scenes are funny to relate to. Especially if you have family and friends that have the same characteristics. I would recommend that you start with book one.
Another fun-tasting read, well written and love the characters and suspense. You won’t be disappointed with this cozy mystery. I received this book for free from the author and wanted to leave an honest review.
