Hollywood Demons #3

Wheels of Fire

All that glitters isn’t gold. USA Today bestselling author Autumn Jones Lake’s Wheels of Fire concludes the ultra-romantic, emotional adventure that began in Kickstart My Heart.

The most important lesson I’ve learned in Hollywood, is that besides Chaser’s love, most things that glitter aren’t gold. It’s time for us to decide if the struggles are worth the heartache.

4.5 I love this series and this couple. I would have read their grocery lists or any other boring thing they had to do in order to keep the series going. I absolutely love Autumn Jones Lake author notes at the end of her stories. This one states perfectly why I love this series so much.

I love a couple who faces the world and fights their problems together. I’m not into the angst of a couple doing horrible, hurtful, things to each other throughout a book. I’m just not. There’s enough awfulness in real-life human relationships.

It was awesome to read about 14-year-old Rock from the Slow Burn series. What an adorable little punk he was even back then!

This wasn’t the most uplifting story, there were lots of issues for Chaser and Mallory to deal with together. I really liked how Lake incorporated the awful side of Hollywood for young women like Mallory. Not that it’s much better now, but with cell phones, I think people are more aware.

The stuff with Andrew was a little weird, but it could have been all those drugs he was on. I actually felt bad for the guy. He’s so broken and underneath all that bravado is a very hurt young man. Jacob is a mess too. As much as I wanted to kick his butt for most of this series, I did break down

I love that no matter what, Chaser stands by Mallory, no ow, no matter how many were tossed at him. I think he was right when he told his dad that growing up in the club as a child and watching his mom’s heartbreak helped him be the kind of man he wanted to be. This series will forever be on my reread list.

Wheels of Fire is the third and final book in the Hollywood Demons Series. Autumn Jones Lake has crafted a delicious blend of Rockstar, Hollywood, and MC Romance all into one delicious treat. Mallory and Chaser have been through hell and their HEA is finally on the horizon... or is it? Wheels of Fire picks up directly after Blow My Fuse. Chaser is in trouble and he must depend on Mallory to help clear his name so that he can be free. Right when his rockstar career is taking off, Chaser finds himself dealing with demons from his past and people that want to tear him down. Despite the numerous setbacks she has faced, Mallory is finally excelling in Hollywood. However, it's hard to balance a career and romance when she is constantly being torn down by the “norms” and the stressors of the bright lights of Hollywood. As Chaser and Mallory grow closer together, they face a number of obstacles (both internal and external) however, they will both do whatever it takes to fight through and walk through the fire together.

"We're going to be ok."
Told in multiple POV, Wheels of Fire is a sweet ending to the Hollywood Demons Series. With a complex plot and complications around every corner, Mallory and Chaser prove that true love can withstand it all! Chaser is strong and loyal to a fault to his brothers, his band, and to Mallory. In addition to a strong alpha male hero (my favorite), the secondary characters enhanced the story greatly by offering plenty of drama and humor throughout.
"My heart’s been in your hands since the day we met."
Overall, Wheels of Fire will appeal to contemporary romance fans who enjoy exploring rock-n-roll and Hollywood. Back when cassette tapes, walkmans, and phonebooths ruled, readers will enjoy going back in time and meeting Mallory and Chaser. This series must be read in order. As always, I enjoy Ms. Lake's work and I look forward to more greatness to come!

No, it's not okay, because I'm genuinely obsessed with these characters.

What an amazing (although bittersweet) ending to such an interesting story- it's not even funny I'm actually jealous of the love that Mallory and Chaser have with each other, it was honestly so sweet and heartwarming.

This genuinely has been such a fun experience to go through, and I'm so sad that their story's come to end- I literally just finished it and I already want to re-read it.

I no joke never wanted their story to end- this series honestly felt like it was made for me, because I'm just a sucker for multiple books based on the same couple- and how you just get to experience them grow as people, and develop their relation- it was just *chef's kiss*.

I genuinely need more of Mallory and Chaser, and am just happily accepting all of the crumbs that I can get of them- their story was so good. It's honestly so rare to get a story about two people who actually clearly and consistently communicate with one another- it was so refreshing to read about.

In relation to the writing and setting- I'm actually obsessed, because it was so interesting to see how the setting shaped who they were, and all felt so realistic. There were some times in the story that I did get quite frustrated with, however, everything just came together so nicely in the end.

But yeah, this was just an amazing conclusion to the series. For my first read by this author, I genuinely really liked the writing style and am definitely going to check out more.

I enjoyed this one the most.

This is book 3 of a trilogy about the same couple.
Best read series in order, it's one story.

Lots of meddling in their relationship. Angst. Lots of humour. Andrew is hilarious, even though his actions are awful, he is just so funny.

No cheating.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.

Other man drama, though although the heroine may be a bit naïve she doesn't reciprocate.

Small other woman drama.

Links to MC series, we learn more about the history and politics of the Lost Kings series.

Huge potential for more in the series with both the history of the MC world and the band.

HEA. In sense that the couple will but you have HFN and couple could appear in future couples books.

Epilogue in to the present day as series in based in the 1980's so prequel to MC series.

Married with kids, several years into future.

Wheels of Fire is the final book in the Hollywood Demons Trilogy and another great addition. Chaser and Mallory are an amazing couple who has stayed true to each other since the very beginning. This final book was definitely heartbreaking. The boys were at the top of their game when tragedy struck, and their lives were changed forever. I loved the ending with Chaser and Mallory now older with a family and part of the club. I thought the author did a great job connecting this world with her MC's. Overall, this was a fantastic trilogy that will definitely go on my reread list. I also plan to restart her MC series soon.

Nice conclusion to their story.
On a side note - why did they kill Jacob? I didn’t think it was necessary, other than to prove a point of the consequences of addiction?
Anyway, overall nice story, but was I the only one thinking this was going to be an MC story?

There is something about Autumn's writing that feels so effortless to the reader. You are instantly drawn into the story as it plays out like a movie in your mind.

I have adored Chaser and Mallory from the very beginning. Their life and journey have always felt real and authentic. They are two flawed individuals who love hard but they are far from a fairytale couple and I wouldn't want it any other way. They each have a past that brings fears, distrust, and troubles, and the world they live in only magnifies these problems.

My favorite part of this book Chaser and Mallory having to learn to be real and honest with each other. With so many people wanting to get in their way (whether they had good intentions or not) these two had to learn to be vulnerable and open to each other in a way that made them feel uncomfortable and unsure of themselves. As they had to navigate the minefields of Hollywood and their families, they often made mistakes but refused to let their pride and ego prevent them from working through these mistakes.

I also loved how Autumn made me feel in this book. As I was reading, I often was yelling at characters and situations. I was frustrated, angry, annoyed, and even sad at times. Which made for a fun and exciting ride. It shows to me how invested and lost in a story when I have a visceral reaction to what happening.

This was the perfect ending to this Chaser/Mallory story arc but hope this is only the beginning because I want to explore this world more and fall in love or hate with these wonderful characters.

Wow!!!
This has been an epic trilogy from an amazing author and this book.
I'm speechless. Was a perfect way to end it and also tie into current books.
So much happens in this massive book that you won't know where to look or what to think.
Starting straight where book left off... don't be fooled into a false sense of security that once that "issue" is resolved that it's smooth sailing from there. Couldn't be father from the truth.
This book is proof of why this author will always be a top author of mine and many others.
Leaving this as a short and sweet review as if I continue gushing I might ruin things and it needs to be experienced first hand.

Well eff... I... I mean... but... I might need a second read through before I can properly review this.

Chaser and Mallory’s story has come to a close... kinda.

Honestly, one of my favourite things about Autumn is the fact that her stories are ALWAYS HFN (Happy For Now). I love that this leaves the story open for the next one. (And I ALWAYS want to know what’s coming next!)

What can I say about Wheels of Fire?
Well... lots. But I promise no spoilers (this could be hard).

As usual Chaser is the ultimate alpha hero. Protective to the core. Fiercely loyal and ready to drop anyone, from his scary biker dad to his supposed friends, if they even glanced at his dove the wrong way.

Mallory was a lot stronger than I thought she would be. Not that Autumn has ever written a weak female character... but, I still didn’t expect her strength.

The two of them together go through the toughest roller coaster anyone could imagine and I swear to you I sat and cried and laughed and loved right along with them.

Autumn once spoke about the characters being like real people to her. And I can honestly say that these characters are real people to me too.

Autumn... I need ALL the Hollywood Demons stories. (Alvin next please!!!)

I am beyond happy to read the third installment of Chaser and Mallory's story! If you're a fan of Autumn's Lost King series, then you already know that Mallory and Chaser are together - long term. But it's the getting there that's the fun part!

So much of the conflict in this story comes from the pressures of living and working in Hollywood/LA, and in our couple's reaction to those pressures. Andrew is one of those stressors, and he causes the biggest fight that Mallory and Chaser have had to date. But like I mentioned, it wasn't just the actual stressor (in this case, Andrew), but their reaction to it. And their reaction was also influenced by the pressure of their jobs - Chaser was out on the road touring, and Mallory was working at a show that was becoming increasingly irritating. But that fight! Even though I know they would end up together, I was worried a little. I didn't want them apart at all, not even for a little while! (I'll be honest - I felt really anxious every time they even got a little frustrated - I wanted them to be perfect, as unrealistic as that is) And then there's Jacob. Every time he fell back into his bad habits (did he ever really stop, though?), I felt a little more grief (and anger, sure). Nothing good was going to come of that. And sadly, I was right. But there was also a tiny bit of conflict from their dads - we knew that was coming (but maybe not in the way that it happened)!

So anyways, things that I liked:
1. Chaser always compliments Mallory on her clothes. That's a little thing, and at first I was going to say that he always compliments her on the way she looks, but it's not just that. He sees that she takes time to pick certain outfits, and he notices and appreciates that. It's cute and shows how focused he is on her.
2. Mallory always puts thought into saying the right thing at the right time when someone needs support. She's sweet, yes, as everyone mentions, but she's also compassionate, and I think that's perfect for someone like Chaser - she balances his tendency to be very forthright and brash.
3. Stump - for all the things he said wrong in this book, he does care about Mallory and has done a great job of welcoming her into the family
4. The writing. As an English teacher, I definitely appreciate good grammar/syntax. I'll read a story even if the writing's not great as long as the plot/characters are interesting, but it's definitely going to lower the rating, and I might not read any more of that author's books. Autumn's writing is quality though - tight and exact. So this kind of attention to language always makes me happy!
5. Seeing some of our LOKI family - I’ll leave it a surprise, but you’ll definitely be happy - I know I was!

Miscellaneous: Rock says "simmer down" once ;)

A swooning hot finale to the Hollywood Demons Trilogy! I hate to say good-bye to Mallory and Chaser!! They are two incredible characters you absolutely love. They are both so young, I expected them to become victims of stupid youthful mistakes. However, they showed a rare strength and maturity that allowed them to develop a respectful and heart-warming romance that was thoroughly enjoyable to read. They stood strong as they faced obstacles together. AND believe me, there were enough outside plot twists to make the story a captivating page turner!
In the final edition of the series, the careers of both characters soar! Both are reaching their dreams. Unfortunately, both are finding that there’s a price to pay for those dreams. Their trip to fame is riddled with highs and lows, joys and pain. These two will have many decisions to make, including the survival of their relationship.
Along the journey we get to see Rock (from Lost Kings) as an early teen. I loved it!! And of course he would hit on Mallory!! It showed Rock as we’ve always envisioned him, a cocky, smart aleck with a profound unwavering quiet strength. I loved seeing Trinity again. Out of all of the Loki Series, to me, Trinity’s story was the most painful. Wheels of Fire allowed me to see how Bishop (her father) was with her and offered me some comfort.
Having grown up in the 80’s I enjoyed revisiting the era. I vividly remember the multiple belt wraps around my waist, the fishnet and wild hair! I easily juxtapose the characters into remembered relevant 80’s characters who dominated the t.v. and music scenes of the time. It made the story more real and come to life in my mind.
All in all the series is a must read. AJL knows how to write a story that hooks you in and captivates your heart! She’ll create characters you’ll love and those that will raise your blood pressure. You’ll ride the roller coaster of emotions as you follow the characters’ journey. Brilliant! And… hint, hint AJL, I think we need Alvin’s story! Definitely Talley’s!!

Wheels of Fire is the third and final title in the Hollywood Demons trilogy.
It’s full of surprising twists and turns, and we get cameos from some of our favorite characters from the Lost Kings, when they were considerably younger.
Wheels of Fire picks up from where Blow My Fuse left off. Chaser and Mallory’s love and loyalty is undeniable, but they sure face their fair share of hurdles in this epic conclusion.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable trilogy that made me feel like I was reliving my early childhood, with flashbacks to the eighties.

This was the conclusion for Mallory and Chaser and boy did the author send us off with a bangout book!
I love the interaction between the characters, the storyline as always was amazing.
There was at times where I was anxious to see where it was going and some people had me on the edge wanting to dive into the book and shake them!
I can’t wait to read more books!!!!!

Book 3 in the Hollywood Demons series.

My heart actually aches knowing that this is the end of the series (for now hopefully)! It was bittersweet reading the conclusion of Mallory and Chaser's story. Throughout the series you laugh, swoon, cry, get angry, curse, develop some anxiety (lol), and this book was no different. It has ALL the feels!

Chaser has had a lot of hard lessons in life so he's learned a lot in a short amount of time between growing up in the MC and living a rock n' roll lifestyle in L.A. He's an alpha through and through, but he can be as sweet as he is menacing. Mallory is a class act. No matter how vicious Hollywood is and some of her unwanted encounters, she keeps her head held high and never waivers. She has her vulnerable moments, like any of us, but she never lets it bring her down. She's strong and fierce, even when she thinks she isn't. They're the perfect halves to make each other whole.

Mal and Chaser have faced many tribulations throughout their relationship and they come face to face with more. New demons appear and old demons come crawling back alive causing some doubts and certainly a lot of chaos in a wheel of fire 😉. But one thing always remains; their love for one another. Autumn has always said; "true love stories never end..." And I think Chaser and Mal depict that perfectly.

This series brings back a time that seems so long ago. Memories that kids today will never know. A time with pay phones at every corner and phone books delivered to your front door. Actual MTV music videos and Headbangers ball, walkman head phones and cassettes,  poofy hair and heavy hair spray, hightop shoes and jean jackets, leotards with leggings and leg warmers.

If you haven't read any of Autumn's books, Hollywood Demons is a great place to start and a perfect segway into her amazing Lost Kings MC Series. And if you've been fortunate enough to read the Lost Kings MC Series then you'll be happy to know there are a few characters that make guest appearances. 😊

Special thanks to Autumn Jones Lake for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Who knew that mixing a MC biker / heavy metal rocker with a mafia princess turned actress would provide a recipe full of swoons and steam?

Wheels of Fire is my new favorite of the Hollywood Demons series. Mallory and Chaser just keep getting better and better! Autumn Jones Lake will really play with your heart strings on this one. Not only is Wheels of Fire dangerously sexy and HOT HOT HOT, it is filled with so much emotion. Autumn's ability to pull you into a story is fantastic. One moment I am yelling at Mallory and experiencing the urge to throw my Kindle across the room and the next I find myself on the verge of tears.

I love how Autumn's flashback to the 80's feels so real: the rock and roll, the sleazy relentlessness of the paparazzi, the cutthroat business of Hollywood, the backstabbing and the sense that you can trust NO ONE all for the price of fame. I can only imagine the fun Jim Forbes and Behind the Music would have with Kickstart.

Wheels of Fire is a must read! I can't wait to see what Autumn may have in store for these two next! CHASER AND MALLORY FOREVER!

Disclaimers: This is not a stand-alone. CW: death, miscarriages, drugs.

The conclusion of Hollywood Demons, Mallory and Chaser's story and it was sonic awesomeness. There are so many ups and downs and twists and turns on their journey but they do it all together. Both of them 100% support each other in their dreams and goals. I absolutely adored that about this trilogy. Yes he is a touring musician and she is a struggling actress in Hollywood but these two put in the work and effort to always be there for each other regardless if they are in a different country or standing right next to each other. All of the drama that these two faced was from outside sources but nothing broke them apart. Their devotion to each other is beyond compare. This trilogy had it all - suspense, laughter, love, tears, heartbreak, joy, throat punchy (yeah that's you Andrew) but it was perfect. My only complaint is that it is done. Now what do I do? I need more Mallory and Chaser in my life.

What a great way to end (for now) the story of Chaser and Mallory! Autumn has done it once again. Wheels of Fire begins right were that lovely cliffhanger left us at the end of Blow my Fuse. Chaser and Mallory hit so many life bumps in this book I think I got a bit of whiplash. This book had it all, at points I found myself crying and laughing and others I wanted to deal out a few throat punches (Andrew). Love a book that evokes so much emotion in a reader. Autumn left a few unanswered questions when the final pages were turned. But maybe that means it not really the end *Wink Wink*
Chaser and his father’s interactions were some of favorite parts of this book. The true definition of “Tough Love” in my opinion. I also love the other characters that make an appearance in this book. Nice to know it is a small world after all.
FIVE STARS & Two Big Thumbs up once again. I highly recommend you read Kickstart My Heart and Blow My Fuse (book one & two) in the trilogy first to get the full story. It will help with context and understanding of characters. Can’t wait for what Autumn creates next. Whatever it is I know it will be RAD!

Wow! Ok. I loved this trilogy! This book specifically was an emotional rollercoaster and a lot of that has to do with 3 specific situations. 1 I won’t go into because I don’t want to spoil it but it something that happens to Chaser and Mallory, the 2nd is Andrew. Andrew is from Vicious Vandals and he really helped Kickstart make it big. He’s that guy you love to hate but also hate that you love him. He’s crazy and half brain dead and emotionally stunted. But he does such nice things for the band, Chaser and Mallory that you almost have to forgive him for being his annoying ridiculous self. But he finally does something he can’t come back from and it’s upsetting emotionally for Mallory the most I think. And 3 has to do with Jacob. You almost see it coming but when it happens…

I highly recommend this trilogy and I loved we got to finally read about when Rock hit on Mallory when he was a teen. Since I read the Lost Kings series before this trilogy I only read about it in a conversation they had and I loved reading about it. Also meeting Trinity’s dad Bishop. That poor girl ugh! Knowing what we read about in the Lost Kings makes it even harder to read about a little Trini. This makes me want to do another read of that entire series again!

And she does it again! HOT HOT HOT!!! This author never fails to impress me with her ability to write a good story that keeps me invested till the very last page. While this might be Chaser and Mallory's story, AJL manages to make even the smallest supporting character important and unforgettable. Every player in this epic saga, from the drug addicted rock star, to the insecure and needy starlet, to the mean-mugging mafia father, and the jaded-by-love-lost biker dad...all are clearly given a spotlight at one time or another and they all serve to enhance the book and enrich the plot. Hollywood proves to be a tough mistress, and the world of a musician on tour is filled with booby traps in all shapes and sizes that threaten to destroy these young lovers before they even have a chance. Tragedy and loss attempt to pull these two apart but what doesn't kill you...you know the rest.
I absolutely loved this trilogy and getting to see young Trinity and Rock was the icing on the cake for me. Bravo!

The third book in Autumn Jones Lake newest LOKI spin-off, Wheels of Fire, continues it's knarly 80's rock experience with a side order of mafia/mc drama, and it's radical! If I didn't already think Chaser and Mallory were perfect AF, Wheels of Fire solidifies it for me! By the end of the book, I was squealing like a 13-year-old fangirl. Their relationship, their struggles, their victories, just them. GAH, just them!!!!

Yes, all the important stuff that happens around them is great, and Autumn's writing is superb as ever, but I'm telling you this story with two different characters doesn't make sense. As always, I'm in awe of Autumn's ability to write characters who are wholly different yet never dull and still make sense.

If you loved the first two books, then Wheels of Fire will give the HEA you need. If you haven't read the first two books, well, what the hell are you waiting for?

Loved it!

I REALLY enjoyed this trilogy about Chaser and Mallory. There were lots of allusions regarding the music and Hollywood industries which are totally believable especially in today’s world. The struggles of this couple in the late 80’s are still present today. It would also be realistic, as well, for the stuff that happened to Jacob, especially these days.

It was good that this tied into the MC clubs from Ms Lake’s popular Lost Kings series.

Just awesome.

Wheels of Fire take us on a journey in a rocker/actress life and how they navigate through holly wood.
This was the third book in the Hollywood Demons world. It’s not a dark and gritty MC/rocker story. Mrs Lakes writing style is awesome and really makes you feel like you were back in the 80s when this story takes place. She was spot on. The Author notes are also a highlight to her books for me. I often wonder what is going through an authors mind and these notes hit on that.
I loved the Easter eggs. Can’t wait to see Alvins future roll.

Oh Autumn, 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I just love Mallory and Chaser and this ending was perfect! These two have been through a lot of ups and downs in their short relationship and still have held true to the love they have for one another! This book started where the cliffhanger from book 2 ended and has even more drama and angst then before! I love it though! Their feelings shine through all the crazy situations they are put through and the side characters help make the book amazing! Alvin is definitely my favourite! I’m sad their journey is over for now but glad you left it open ended and we already know we will see them again in The Lost Kings series! Fabulous and phenomenal job!!

Wheels of Fire is the final installment from the Hollywood Demons series. It feels like Chaser and Mallory were the beginning of forever love... While the gossip and the pap's follow their life trying to break them down twisting truths into lies they fight for what they want... it may not be perfect and it definitely wasn't easy but Chaser and Mallory create a life they want and can be proud of.

Enjoy the love story that is Chaser and Mallory!

I'm sad to see this series end and hope to see more of Chaser and Mallory in the future. Watching their journey has been entertaining, romantic, delicious, nostalgic, and of course bad ass. I wish it could go on forever and would definately recommend. I have the urge to reread the LOKI series (such a hardship since it's one of my favorites) just to see where this duo pops up now that I know them. Another 5 star read featuring dual POV, steam, drama, and HEA.

I’d give it 10 ⭐️ if I could. Autumn never seizes to amaze me !! How she does it we will never know. This book is the 3rd installment of the Hollywood demons series also a preview of the Lost Kings Rock and a very young Trinny make appearances. Chaser and Mallorys love is everything you’d ever want !! I love them this one has all the feels atuff happens you’d never see coming. Enjoy the ride it’s pretty awesome 😎
