About the author

Shea Brighton has immersed herself in the fictional worlds of her favorite authors for years, never thinking she'd join them in their story-telling journey. However, life leads you to places you weren't expecting. That's what happened to her a few years ago, and her writing pursuit began.

Shea makes her home in Virginia, having left her native New York years ago. You can usually find her watching some sporting event on TV (though baseball holds her heart), visiting a certain Mouse, winery hopping with her friends, or curled up with a book.

Break on Me is the first book I’ve read by this author, and it pleasantly surprised me!
It’s a sweet contemporary romance based on characters created in the Stephen brother’s series.
This is book #2 and the focus is on younger brother Jonathan and his attraction to older (10 years)
Forensic Scientist, Angela Corcoran.
Angela first comes to Jon’s attention while they are attending his Brother Drew’s engagement party.
Jon sees her across the room and is pretty confident he’s found “The One” the pursuit is on!

Angela who has some major insecurities about herself and relationships totally try’s to avoid him!
Jon is persistent, slowly and tenderly beginning to break down her insecurities, and the walls she’s erected to protect her emotions.
What a sweet, patient, understanding man.

Though the main story focus is on Jon and Angela’s developing relationship there are some under lying story threads that bring plenty of drama into play.
Who is the mysterious man stalking the Stephens family and who’s scary narration appears in spots throughout the book?
In the course of her work Angela discovers some irregularities in the forensic evidence that sent an innocent man to prison for a series of murder/rapes? This now puts Angela’s life in danger!

Mystery, Intrigue and well crafted characters fill the pages setting the stage for an exceptional read.
HEA for our couple but a few remaining unanswered questions, which I hope will be forthcoming in future books. Looking forward to the next.

Book two in this series has had me intending to read until bedtime and finish it in the morning, well that went out the window and I read until I had finished, well into the early hours of the morning - and I have no regrets as I loved this story.

I really enjoy spending time with the Stephens brothers and seeing Drew and Val's relationship in all it's glory. My heart broke for Matt, for what he is going through (for what I suspect he will have to go through) and I expect his story is going to be emotional and heartbreaking. My heart rejoiced seeing Jon find his one in Angela and the love, patience, acceptance and support he showed her. Their chemistry shone brightly and I knew they were meant to be together.

The drama, mystery and suspense gave this story added layers, woven together beautifully and written so well. We got a bit more info this time round, I have some suspicions and am looking forward to seeing if I'm right. I wonder if Clint and Brittany will have their story told as there is obviously one waiting to be told...I am really loving this series.

Angela works in forensics. Jon is one of the trio of brothers that own and run Stephens Construction. After seeing her across the room at a party, he was intrigued by her and has been on a quest to find her. She was attracted to him as well, but wouldn't let herself believe that he would be attracted to her. When they are thrown together on a work project, Jon decides that he wants to get to know her better. The biggest obstacle is Angela's lack of confidence in herself. Well, there are also a couple of nefarious character's that are out to inflict damage on the couple as well. I really loved all of the suspense and intrigue that was happening in this book. I also loved that Jon wasn't afraid to help Angela work through her fears and self-doubt. Can't wait to read the next book about Jon's brother Matt.

Angela Corcoran seems content with her life as it is. She has a great job as a forensic scientist, she shares fun times with wonderful friends, and a great love for watching baseball. In particular the NY Mets. Something is missing and he can't stop staring at her from across the room. Her self-esteem is so low and past relationships are making it hard to see what's in front of her. When Jon openly shows interest in her, she is unable to know how to react. The fact that she is so much older, not rail thin, shy, and a bit inexperienced isn't helping.

Jon Stephens knew she was the one when he spotted her across the room. Jon is the funny, sexy, charming youngest Stephens Brothers. He makes it his mission to get to know Angela. Their jobs have caused them to be in close proximity of each other and he doesn't waste time taking advantage of spending time with her.

Nothing can be easy for these two. There is a mysterious person or persons lurking in the shadows seeking retribution.

This is what I would call a suspense romance, featuring a couple with an age gap, and a bit of a slow burn romance. It is a great read. I never wanted to put my book down

This is book 2 in the series. It does not really stand alone. The first book I adored but this book I found on the boringer side. I loved the continuation of the story and re-catching up with the brothers and I loved Jon's character so I adored seeing him in this story.

But Angela was too much for me. She is described in not an attractive way and in fact she doesnt feel attractive either. She is 10 years older than Jon and to me thats a HUGE gap for a 29 year old. 29 and 39 is a huge difference. Added to that she is described very innocently so he has a lot to teach her I guess. I just found her so boring and honestly I had no idea why he fell in love with her at first sight.

That said the author is a really great writer and I enjoyed the story and I loved catching up with the brothers and watching them get ready for the first couples wedding. I also enjoyed the mysery and intrigue.

This is Jonathan (younger brother) and Angela Corcoran (Forensic Scientist) She is older but he is sure she is the one.
They meet whilst attending the engagement party for he brother Drew. Now all he has to do is convince her that this is so, let the games begin!
Someone is stalking the Stephens brothers, who could it be? does it have anything to do with Angela discovering some abnormalities in the forensic evidence that sent an innocent man to prison for a series of murder/rapes? Will this put Angela’s life in danger? Will Jon be able to convince Angela to be his one and only?
The plot thickens. Read and find out how it ends.

This is Jonathan Stephens and forensic scientist Angela Corcoran's story, there is suspense, drama, danger, a villain, and romance. I want to read the next book. So this is the Stephens brother's second story about Jonathan and Angela, with an age gap between them.
The first book was amazing and this one keeps with some of the lines but it felt boring to me.

Angela and Jon are a great couple that are well developed and have loads of chemistry throughout the pages. The storyline has a bit of everything that makes for an enjoyable read.
