Touchdown

Rate this book
Alexander Bryant has lived his entire life making everyone else happy. After meeting Lincoln, will he have the courage to finally do what makes him happy?

Alexander – I like to imagine myself a rebel – an ass-kicker that takes what he wants regardless of what others think. I make my own path and flip off the people who don’t agree. I laugh in the face of conflict. Nobody tells me what to do.

In reality, everything about me is a lie – past, present, and future. The Bryant name requires certain things and all my decisions are based on those requirements. I like football, but the family name demands I love it. I want to be an artist, but the family name demands I be a lawyer. The family demands I fall in love with a nice girl, but I’m falling for, well, the opposite of nice AND girl. I’m a coward and a liar.

Lincoln – I like to imagine myself a loner – a cold heartless bastard that takes what he wants. I lived the biggest part of my life with parents that were ashamed of me for more reasons that one could begin to count, so I trust no one.

I have a low tolerance for bullshit and hate liars.

So why did I go and fall in love with the biggest liar of them all?

So this is awkward. Everyone loved this book but me. I hate it when that happens.

Lincoln, who's only 25, is wealthy and owns a successful BDSM club. He's the Dom of all Doms, yet he takes a guy who's never done any BDSM, who may not be gay, who isn't a sub, and does a scene with him in front of the whole club.

Lincoln goads Alexander into doing the scene, then sends Alexander's friends home and strips Alex naked. He pursues Alexander in a very predatory way.

*cough cough christian grey cough*

Alexander denies that he's attracted to men. Indeed, other men don't do anything for him, just Lincoln. His friend Tank tells him he must be gay for Lincoln. At the end of the story Alex comes out as gay. But he'd had sex with women and enjoyed it; wouldn't that make him bi?

The steamy scenes between the men were hot. My favorite was the scene at Alexander's apartment, because it was more tender and emotional. I wanted to see the men together outside the bedroom. We don't see them interact much at all.

Alex wants to keep Lincoln a secret, so they don't go out, but what about watching a movie? Cooking dinner together? TALKING? There was none of that.

I didn't really have a problem with the abrupt ending. The men kissed and made up, and the relationship felt solid. I DID have a problem with Alexander's dad coming around to his son's side so quickly. I mean, yes, the grandfather was an abusive douche, but why didn't Alexander's dad say something, oh, four years earlier?

Also, the banter between the guys in the locker room just didn't ring true. I get that the men weren't homophobic, which is awesome, but Tank's constant flirting and all that sex talk. I don't know; it just felt overdone.

Finally, the word "pussy" was used 27 times. It was used to refer to a vagina (lots of pussy and tits talk at the beginning) but also as a slur to put down a man who's not strong/brave/manly enough. I literally had to grit my teeth every time I saw that word on page. I HATE that word. It's sexist and demeaning.

I can see why so many people liked this story. The writing is fairly engaging (although I noted numerous editing issues); some of the dialogue is funny; the friendship between Alex and his friends shines through; and there's something wicked about watching a quarterback get taken apart.

Plus, the cover is so, so pretty.

O-M-G was this book AMAZEBALLS...

Alexander Bryant is filthy rich, a straight A student, QB of the football team and dating Miss Alabama herself. Life couldn't be more perfect. That is if Alex wasn't living a lie..

description
"I was hoping you were going to say you were just kidding. That there really was no such thing as you trying to stuff your entire arm up my ass but, no, you had to act like it is going to happen in the near future."
description

Dragged out to club Den for a night of fun by his teamamtes, Alex catches the eye of owner and Dom Lincoln Montgomery. Linc is hot, sexy and commanding. When he persuades Alex to get up on stage feelings Alex has never felt before for another man start making themselves known.

description

Will Alex get over his fear and out from under the thumb of his family? Will Linc open his heart knowing Alex may forever remain in the closet? Can a weary Dom and a sassy submissive QB have an HEA? Well I guess you'll have to read to find out!

description
"Give me your safe word.” “Safe word. Sure, I’ve got one of those. How about stop? Fucking stop? That fucking hurts? I can come up with dozens of these."
description

OMG I LOVED this book. From page one I KNEW this was going to be an awesome read. It has a fabulous cast of secondary characters. I ADORED Alex's teammates and I CANNOT wait to read Tank's book. It was well written and the plot flowed nicely. I was never bored or felt the need to skim.

description

Linc and Alex were both great characters. I loved their funny banter and that Linc, although a Dom was not overly uptight and knew when to tease and laugh. I loved how sassy Alex was and there were some laugh out loud moments when he was being shown all the "tools of the trade" by Linc. I was glad it didn't take a huge portion of the book for Alex to come to terms with his "GFY" stance. He's confused for awhile (totally understandably) but ultimately is the one to make the decision to give him and Linc a chance.

description
"I want to forget again.” I turned to look at him. “Make me forget who I am again.” “No, I’m going to make you remember who you are, Alexander."
description

Surprisingly, there was also a lot of feels in this one. Mostly towards the end after the BIG drama took place. I'll admit, a tear or two might have been shed on my part...don't judge. One thing stopped this from being a total 5 star read, and that was the ending. Sigh, authors, authors, authors....please don't short change us readers with non existent epilogues or sub par ones. This one ended really abruptly. So much so I was left thinking I was missing a chapter or something. Now since we get a look at the next book, I suspect we'll hear more about Alex and Linc in that one, still it was a bit of a bummer...

Overall though, this was one enjoyable read...

Are you ready for some fun? A fun, funny, sexy book with quick wit and bone-crushing sexy times? Well, you have come to the right place. Touchdown is all that and more.

Alex lives his life for everyone but himself. Lincoln, the owner of the exclusive BDSM club the Den, sees his obedience a mile away. It not only excites the Dom in him, but saddens him too. As he gets to know Alex (Alexander, as only Lincoln calls him) he sees the emptiness in his eyes at not following his heart and having the courage to tell his family he doesn't want to go to law school and follow in his father and grandfather's footsteps and become a lawyer. He offers Alexandera safe haven from the trials of everyday life.

This is a BDSM book and the kink is real and mind-melting. I must have emotion and passion in my BDSM books and Alex and Lincoln have it in spades. Win, win, win!

There are so many things I love about this book, but the one thing that stands out with me the most is just how happy it made me. Like, stupid happy. I've been thinking on this review for a few days now and the best way to describe it is a flash that came to me this morning.

You know those movies where the underdog overcomes a huge obstacle and the people around him/her go crazy for a little bit? Like, you know how cheesy it is when people clap and hug but you just don't give a shit because the pay off after the emotional tension just makes all the cheesiness OK? Like, when they finally blow up the alien spaceship in Independence Day.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJ3ZN...

Or, when Apollo 13 finally re-enters the atmosphere and lands in the ocean and the astronauts and found alive in the hatch?

https://youtu.be/-1BPx5Wsm7k

Or when Dorsey and Kate do the Pamchenko at the Olympics?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRHZx...

THAT is exactly how I felt. I wanted to get up and clap and share the feeling with my GoodReads friends. No, this book isn't cheesy. It just gave me a serotonin rush and made me ridiculously happy.

Read this, enjoy this and don't forget to read the first chapter of Dakota and Tank's story at the end of the book. There is more for Lincoln and Alex and I cannot WAIT!

JustJen and Parvathy, I love you gals!

Re-read 9/5/18

This was way better than I expected. I'm normally not a big BDSM fan. The book has to be really good for me to enjoy it and to me, this one definitely was.

Alexander is the QB at his college and his life is basically one big lie. He is living his life, the way his parents want him to. Deep inside, Alex wants to be an artist, but he has to keep this a secret, because of his controlling asshole family (especially his grandfather). They expect him to be a QB and go to Harvard Law school. Alex knows he is too big of a coward to stand up to them, so he just lives the life he doesn't really want, and continues dating a stupid stuck up bitch, he doesn't want either.

What Alex does have is some great friends. They convince him to go with him, to check out this new adult club. He has no idea what he is in for. "The Den" is where he first meets Lincoln.

Lincoln is a club-owner and a well known Dom. When he sets his eyes on Alex, he just knows he has to have the man. He doesn't care if Alex is straight and not into BDSM, he has to at least give it a shot. Which is what he does...in front of a whole audience at the club, he whoops Alex's ass right into subspace ;)

Alex soon realises, that pain and submission is something he craves and Lincoln...well he craves Alex even more. But things are complicated. He has to keep everything a secret, because of his family. Little by little, Lincoln makes Alex come out of the shell he has been hiding behind...Maybe Alex is finally ready to stand up for himself and his needs.

I can actually say, that I liked the BDSM in this one, even though there was plenty of stuff, that went beyond what I would normally find hot. That's exactly what these guys were though...very hot.

There was also way more humor than I expected. I laughed my ass off plenty of times. Alex is quite the character.

All in all a very enjoyable, funny and sexy read with some nice kink to it. I can't wait to see what's next;)

My safeword is NOPE!

I've got some really good friends here that loved this book. Sadly, it pushed all the wrong buttons for me. I really wanted to like the book, but it was not meant to be. Caution - dissenting opinion ahead.

There are a few things I look for in a BDSM themed novel. SSC is generally one of them. Touchdown skipped the important bits of SSC -- education, conversation, negotiation. SSC is more than just having a safeword.

Very early in the book, I realized that the story was likely to not be for me:

1) Doing a scene with someone who has consumed an unknown quantity of alcohol
2) Doing a scene with someone that you don't know without any negotiation whatsoever.
3) Controlling MC that thinks it is ok to just decide what the other MC is allowed to do -- again, they don't really know each other,at this point. They're not in a relationship of any kind when it starts.
4) Negotiation? What's that?

No. No. No. No. No.

And that was just the first third. And once Alex agrees to give the Dom/sub thing a try, there is still no negotiation. Alex doesn't know the first thing about BDSM and what might be expected of him. And Lincoln not only demands that Alex only get BDSM information from Lincoln (no external research allowed), but Lincoln doesn't even give him the highlights tour before jumping right in and demanding that Alex get naked and get strapped into a swing. No talks about the equipment that Lincoln wants to use, no talks about limits and expectations. At least Lincoln asks for a safeword, but I really think there should have been more conversation. Triggers? Limits? Interests? Something!

Lincoln wasn't a Dom. Or, at least he didn't strike me as a good one. He was an obsessive, controlling asshole that liked to play with BDSM toys. And he sent too many predatory signals for my comfort. By their second conversation, Lincoln was already claiming ownership of Alex. He obsessed over Alex, determined to have him, no matter the consequences or desires Alex might face or experience. Sure, he said he wouldn't do anything Alex didn't ask for. But his methods of gaining that consent did not sit right with me. There was way too much manipulation going on. The red flags were waving all over the place. Danger! Danger!!

And, Alex...well, he went from 'totally straight and never having thought about touching his ass' to 'wanting a man to fuck him' with barely a thought in between. In fact, I'm not sure he even had a thought of his own for the entire book.

I would have loved to find anything in this book to say I liked (aside from the cover, which is quite lovely). But, unfortunately, I cannot. The characters - main and secondary, alike - were two dimensional at best. Also, while I'm no expert on BDSM, even I know that what I saw in this book was not a good example. Predatory behavior is not sexy.

I know I'm in the minority of not liking Touchdown, but I really really didn't and I'm not going to recommend it.

1.5 stars, rounded up because of the lovely cover.

Alexander is a top student and a top athlete and a natural submissive - only he has not realized this fact about himself. One Friday night his best friend and fellow team mates in the football team invite him to go with them at the Den, the latest hot BDSM club in Tuscaloosa.

Lincoln is the owner of the Den and the top badass Dom of the club. One look at Alexander and Lincoln decides that he will be his next sub and boyfriend.

Well, someone may say this is a problem because Alexander (a) is not gay (he is in a relationship with Miss Alabama actually) and (b) he has no clue what BDSM stands for and what exactly Lincoln wants from him. But that is not a problem for Lincoln, because he has decided that he wants Alexander and these minor details are not important.

Here comes my main objection about their story. Alexander enters the club with his friends and Lincoln dares him to join him on stage. I have never been to a BDSM club, but I have a feeling that if someone does not want to participate on a scene, then the Dom leaves him alone. Alexander basically is forced to take part in the scene and to be spanked in front of the audience although he clearly stated he does not want to. But he is dared by Lincoln and his friends:

"Aren't you being a brave little boy tonight Alexander?"

He feels scared, humiliated and like there in no way out and like he has only just been called at a magician’s show, he agrees to take off his clothes and to be spanked with a crop in front of a crowd on a cross for the first time of his life. And without knowing the rules of the game. And without a safe word. I don’t know what you think, but I believe it is a bit too much for a beginner – despite the fact that he liked it in the end.

The Dom should have been more responsible!
He didn’t really know beforehand that his temporary sub will enjoy the play.
(Kids, don't try this at home...)

Anyway, after the first night at the club, Alexander keeps ending up naked at Lincoln’s bed and the pressure continues. I felt Alexander is pressured a lot. Even before he decides if he likes men or whether he likes this lifestyle (he has only be to the club once and took part in one scene) and before they even have sex together, he is basically convinced to start more advanced games. I am not sure this is how BDSM works. I suppose they could have at least dinner once before he is introduced to the playroom, the equipment and the toys which scared the life out of him.

Lincoln like another Christian Grey, he is teaching his young, innocent, virgin submissive the secrets and the joys of BDSM.

I liked their story after their first spooning. After that, I stopped picture them like Dom and Sub. They behaved more like two young men in their twenties who are in love with each other and they prefer their sex a bit rough.

I liked Alexander. He is adorable, brave and stronger than he looks. I am not sure that Lincoln is the right guy for him, but I believe in the next books their relationship will proceed in the right direction.

P.S. My rating is three stars. I have given the extra star for the amazing cover.
It makes me wanna dance ;)

DNF at 25%. No rating, but it I was going to rate it, it would be LOW.

I think my blog partners and I got bum copies of this one because it seems like EVERYONE else loves this book, and it's either that or we're just taking crazy pills!

See Dani's review.

See Jewel's review.

I thought this was... not good, and I'm not going to make myself read any more.

Yeah, I'll just be honest and say I picked this book mainly because of it's cover!!

*don't judge me*

description

And I was pleasantly surprised.

Lincoln

description

After Lincoln and Alex's first performance in the club, Alex wasn't able to get Lincoln out of his head. Lincoln made him feel for the first time. All he was used to was to perform as the Bryant grandson everyone expected him to be. Be the best QB, go to law school and then follow his family's footsteps. What about his dreams??

Normally I'm not that fond of BDSM books but these parts worked out quite nicely. Yes it was hardcore but the psysical bonding between them was so clear. Lincoln was a very caring dom and I couldn't wait for Alex to submit to him.

"I want to forget again."
"Make me forget who I am again."

"No, I'm going to make you remember who you are, Alexander."

I was sweating for Alex though when Lincoln was beginning to mention all his toys he was going to use on him.

description

I enjoyed the banter between Lincoln and Alex. Surely Alex wasn't the most obvious sub. He was sassy and just what Lincoln needed and wanted.

I'm in so much fucking trouble. I'm afraid to look down at my lower half but, like the urge to look at Medusa even when you know it was going to shit you up, my eyes are drawn straight down.

Every part that a man tries to keep private around other men is right there.

Pucker right in plain view and available for easy access? - Check
Balls dangling? - Double check.

Yeah, this book was fun!!! I laughed my ass off. Also I loved the secondary characters, especially Tank. I was so thrilled to read the little snippit of his book.

YAY!!!!! I have been looking forward to this book, and it surpassed my expectations! Seriously T.S. McKinney is hitting her stride.
I am not quite sure if this is a 4 or 5 star read, but I will leave it at 5 for now, since it was a wee bit more fleshed-out and well-written than Overtime.

So Alexander is this 'goody two-shoes' doing everything his family wants him to do. They want him to play football, he'll do it. They want him to study law at Harvard, he'll do it. They chose his school, he didn't put up a fight. But inside... Inside Alexander is slowly suffocating. This guy wants to paint, and he wants to go to a school, where he can hone his skills. He also wants his parents to love him and acknowledge him for who he is, but these two twats are letting the grandfather rule the family in his iron grip.
description

Lincoln owns a BDSM club (he is NOT as old as he sounds like), and comes from a family that was even worse than Alexander's. He has his best friend/driver -Marcus- and his old mentor in the BDSM world -Mason-, but not much more human contact than that.
When a chance meeting at the club between Alexander and Lincoln sets Alexander's life, feelings, understanding of himself up in flames, magic is created. Seriously that first 'real' scene in the playroom between Lincoln and Alexander...
Whoweeeeee, freaking fantastic, ridiculously HOT!
description
McKinney certainly changed my tune in regards to her (sometimes) watered-down smexy times in previous books!!!!
ALSO Alexander is a BRILLIANT mouthy sub, making Lincoln laugh, which made their scenes even more fun, real and loving!

Alexander and Lincoln however both suffer from the age-old disease: miscommunicatitis and doubtitis. They both believe that the other, could not POSSIBLY love them, since they are so broken, and the other is perfect and beautiful.
McKinney is once again true to the parameters and the origin-story she built for her MCs, but it was FREAKING annoying that they didn't open their fucking mouths and TALKED to each other, FFS!
But this was seriously my biggest complaint.
We also have the ex-girlfriend-trope (Alexander's). But I thought it fit well with the story, and Alexander's inability to do anything for himself, before he met Lincoln, who opened him up in all the right ways *wink wink*.

I have one other complaint and that is Alexander's parents. These two idiots, have all these weird, "noble" ideas when the truth comes out, and I was doing a LOT of head-shaking and eye-rolling, when they fessed up. Seriously Alexander was a wee bit too forgiving of these two donuts, but okay, if that was one of my only complaints, I can overlook it, since it was such a small part of the story in the end, and the rest of the book was so much fun.

I loved Alexander and Lincoln, these two were HOT and fun and loving and great together, I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!!

This book was fun! And kinky. Lot of BDSM, but also lots of laughs.

Alex is trying to live up to everyone’s expectations. He is supposed to play college football, like his father and grandfather. And he is supposed to go to Harvard after he graduates to become a lawyer in the family firm.

But even though Alex tries to be like his family wants him to be, his spirit cannot be suppressed. He loves to paint, so he does it in secret, in his apartment.

When he gets roped into going to this BDSM club with his three best friends, he has no idea what to expect. He thinks that if he likes it, he will try to play the Dom with some girl. But he didn’t count on Lincoln.

Lincoln is the owner of the club and when he sees Alex, he knows he wants Alex on his knees for him. Not gay? He doesn’t care, he knows he can teach that brat a lesson…

Now, this could have been so angsty, with Alex hiding from himself, and Lincoln trying to have him. But it really wasn’t. Lincoln is trying to be this big bad Dom, and he was, in the bedroom. But out of it he was a sweet guy, who really wanted to help Alex feel happy (don’t worry, he is all ALPHA, but he shows his feelings too).

And Alex was hilarious. I loved him. He was such a sassy brat. His inner monologues were so funny.

Could one get carpal tunnel from jacking off? Coach would kill me. I switched hands.

And I just loved that this was not your regular D/s relationship. These guys were equal in every way. Alex called Lincoln just as much asshole as he called him Sir.

There was one part in this book that made me go all, no no no no please, don’t go there author. But I was happy to say ‘the thing’ didn’t happen.

There is some angst (yes, there is a break-up), but it wasn’t dragged out and they made up pretty fast.

This was a great BDSM story with lots of feelings, some angst, and lots of light, funny moments.

And can I say I LOOOOOVED Alex's friends. Can't wait for the rest of the books.

Touchdown had a few OTT things:

• Like the first time Alexander went to the Club for example.

I don't think that scene would have ever happened in that kind of *ahem* establishment. A Dom randomly picking someone from the audience that clearly wasn't feeling comfortable to play.

• The insta-lust which quickly became insta-love by Lincoln.

• Alexander's family "60 minutes makeover"

That said, I couldn't for the life of me put this book down.
A very entertaining and hot story.

I am looking forward to the next one in this series.

This was my first book by T.S. McKinney and it won't be my last!
She is the queen of the well-placed punchline!

Nipple clamps, football hotties, witty banter, and funny one-liners?? Sold!
Yes, you read that right. All of that wrapped up in one book!

I had no idea what to expect before I started reading (I don't read blurbs) and boy was I pleasantly surprised!
There was crazy chemistry between Alexander and Lincoln, flirting, laugh-out-loud moments, hot football players and sexy BDSM scenes!!
And although I really enjoyed both main characters, I also got a kick out of Alexander's friends. Tank in particular, and would love to read his story as well.

This book really surprised me at every turn. It was super fun and oh so sexy!

To Say I was blown away by this book would be putting it Lightly. Drawn in by a sexy as hell cover – I mean can we just look at those abs and … yeah, so total cover whore on this one as I was scanning Goodreads to see what everyone was reading. T.S. McKinney is a new author to me and I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, let me tell you I will be back and have already purchased another book by her.

I was able to immediately connect with both MC which is something that doesn’t always happen, but I was enamored by Lincoln and Alexander straight away.

14196172_1344407515584493_3004549834878724628_o
Alexander Bryant is the QB at his college in good ol’ Alabama where some areas of the south have not caught up with equal rights and acceptance of being gay. This however, doesn’t bother him – he isn’t a homophobe – his best friend, Tank, is proudly bisexual. Alexander is so unhappy in his life, living the life his grandfather and father dictate, following in their footsteps against his own desires, playing football when all he would rather do is paint. So when his friends talk him into going to an “Adult” club for a night of fun and to assure they are allowed into the club, who would refuse entrance to the star-QB after all, he has no idea what he is about to see and no idea how quickly his life is about to change. When he sees men and women being spanked, wearing lots of leather, and tied up he is intrigued to say the least. In fact he is scoping the scene of the club when its owner walks up to the guys table and the real fun begins!

36fd91b2f63767c30326e32b7f70be66

Lincoln Montgomery he is a self-assured, bad-ass Dominant who owns The Den – the Adult club the guys from the football team end up at, and one look at the beauty on the security monitor with the pale blue eyes and he knows he has to have him. Lincoln wants Alexander. He will have Alexander. So when he issues a challenge for the straight football player to get up on stage in his club and be Dominated he really doesn’t expect him to go through with it - he finds out Alexander is everything he could ever want in a submissive with a sassy mouth he was going to enjoy taming – oh and the chemistry between the two is off the charts. “I had to have him. I had to have him under my crop again, writhing with pain and pleasure. And, contrary to what his pouty lips tell me, I had to have him under me”

14225622_10210486550223756_7810746661301065137_n

The cat and mouse game between Lincoln and Alexander is fun as hell! The way the author rotates between each characters POV so you always know what the other is thinking – makes their interactions so much more fun. Lincoln has never been one to chase. Alexander has never been attracted to a man. Neither of them can get enough of the other – and Alexander is breaking all his families rules as he learns to come out of his shell and make decisions for himself.

”I found it surprising that I apparently enjoyed the chase. I appreciate the fact that he’s going to make me work for it, make me earn it. My appreciation wouldn’t keep me from punishing his pert ass when I finally had him beautifully subdued again, but he should take great pleasure in knowing how off kilter he’s made me feel this week.”

These two have a lot of fun together –spanking, Check. Plugging, Check. Bondage, Check. Clamping, Check. Learning all sorts of way to antagonize a bad ass Dom, Check. Bad ass Dom finding creative ways to punish his submissive, check! Literally everything you can think of as Lincoln is a very thorough Dominant. After all, Lincoln figures that ”If I didn’t have my QB strapped securely to some type of cross, bench, table, or bed in front of me, I wasn’t going to be satisfied” Let’s just say he is pretty much always satisfied as his sassy submissive in “training” is very willing to explore just about anything!

And while Lincoln can’t get enough of Dominating his QB – he was not unaffected at all ”His eyes locked with mine and I felt something pass between us. Something darkly exciting. Lincoln Montgomery may have thundered into my life and forced me to question just about every damned thing about myself, but I’ve knocked him on his ass”

My only complaint about this story was I wanted more! Quite simply I felt like I could have read about these two for a lot longer – they are just such a fun couple who you will enjoy as much as I did. I highly recommend this book which is worthy of 5 stars and cannot wait to read Trystan’s aka Tank’s story!

Oh my. This feels way too kinky for my comfort. I've dabbled onto some BDSM books before, but not an eager fan of such genre, especially not with the whole costume and medieval looking props. But I'm no stranger to fisting, spanking, hot wax or any other toys can you can take it up your ass. But putting something into ones penis is definitely something I never heard of, unless is a catheter. Oh well, l learn something new again.

The description of the medieval devices alone is enough to make me both shiver in terror and squirm in anticipation. Don't worry, they didn't explore all the devices, at least not on page. I'm torn between wanting to run away or just keep staring, I guess the latter won. As I'm not a total BDSM enthusiasts, I don't care much for protocol, I just go along with what I feel. In this case, I think the flow was pretty smooth, even with one of the hero, Alexander being exposed to sex with man and BDSM for the first time.

Alexander is the perfect jock. He is the popular quarterback, dated a pageant princess, rich family and etc. But underneath his perfect life hide a guy who didn't get what he want. He didn't want the path that his family force on him. Finding out that he might be attracted to man, a Dom no less, while on a night out with his peers totally flip Alex's world upside down.

Lincoln, the owner of a BDSM club and a famous Dom saw Alex once and knew he had to have him. He coaxed, seduced and pretty much dare Alex to try out this BDSM scene with him. Not one to survive peer pressure, Alex submitted, pun intended and they both love it, crave it.

Gosh, the things Lincoln do to Alex and the things Alex let Lincoln to do him. It sounds so damn kinky. Even my kinky mind is overheated. Usually such theme tends to veer on the side of dark and intense, but in this case, it was lace with humor. Alex has such a sassy mouth. I love it every time he call Lincoln, 'Asshole, sir' . He is a totally rebellious submissive and I likey.

The drama introduce near the climax was some good stuff and I love the ending. Despite it being a tad abrupt and no epilogue, I'm glad there is a short teaser for the next book whereby I got to see Alex with his bff, Tank. I'm so excited for Tank and Speedo boy, and of course, please let us catch up with Alex and Lincoln. The author owe us an epilogue!

4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.

At first glance, this may seem like just another football GFY story. But, it doesn’t take long to realize that is not the case.

Alexander is miserable but has somewhat come to grips with the fact that everything he loves (and hides) will all end once he graduates college. He has shaped himself to fit into the mold his family demands, from the college he attends to football and law school, ending with working at the family law firm. He pretty much goes with the flow while hating himself inside for all the lies that make up his life. But that all begins to change when his friends drag him out to an “adult” club.

Lincoln is the owner of said “adult” club which turns out to be a pretty exclusive BDSM establishment where Lincoln happens to be a master dom. You still might be thinking this sounds pretty typical, but Lincoln and Alexander are anything but. When Lincoln goads Alexander up to the stage, the sparks really start to fly. Alexander doesn’t believe he is gay at this point, has never had any interest in men before this, and is mostly putting up a brave front for his friends. He is put into a headspin after his eye opening night out and does a lot of questioning and soul searching. Lincoln sees past Alexander’s carefully built shell and while things don’t happen lickity split, Alexander eventually comes around and their time together was smoking hot, fun and exciting. Alexander is a total newbie to the BDSM scene, so his naivety and humor made him a joy to watch. He was unknowingly sassy and brought a playfulness to their relationship that I loved. That Lincoln enjoyed it too, realizing he never had that before, was also fun. These guys just really made a great pair as they adapted to each other.

There really is so much more to this than it sounds, but I don’t want to give much more away. Suffice to say that their situation/predicament was a bit heartbreaking from both sides. Even knowing this was more than just sex, knowing they had to keep their relationship a secret, and the inevitable outcome of Alexander going back to his shell of a life, they kept going. Lincoln knew he should walk away, knew he should stick to his rules, but was unable, and Alexander wanted to stay, to stand up for the things he wanted, but was unable. This was loaded with emotion and many various feels.

There isn’t a ton of football happening, as most of the story is really about the characters themselves. But, it felt like the perfect amount. Not too much, but enough to know how important it is. Alexander also has some great friends on his team, some of which he is close enough to share his secrets. One especially, Tank, is really the one who started it all. It was Tank who had the interest in the BDSM and pushed the guys to go there for him. He was funny and caring, and it was easy to fall for his charms. Thankfully, his story is next, and I can’t wait to read it!

This was well written, had me burning through the pages and left me unhappy that it was over. I felt as though I could read on and on about these two, and I’m happy to see they appear in the next book. If you love a great GFY football story with a range of emotions, I highly recommend you give this a try.

4.5 stars - loved this book ....Alexander & Lincoln were smokin ! I really enjoyed their chemistry and the build in romance and partnership although finding out Lincoln was only 25 made it a bit harder to see him as a seasoned Master Dom. This was an unexpected story which took a few surprise turns. It was great to see the constant backing of Tank and eventually Alexander's parents. Very enjoyable heat

OMG, this book was H.O.T., HOT!!!

We also have bit BDSM going on here - interesting....
We also have someone who not sure if they are ready to come out of the closet - getting better, right?
We also just the right amount of drama - Yasssssss!

Lincoln is a DOM and he wants Alexander to be his Submissive. Which means we have a ssssshhhhh a virgin, who is in the closet becoming a submissive. Will their relationship ever be a "normal" one? Can Lincoln love Alexander for himself without the kink? Good questions, right?

This book is very deep and not what I thought at all. I was pleasantly surprised as to how much I loved it. This book is worth the read for sure.

I feel tricked, duped. I went into this book thinking it was about a college QB who turns GFY for a dominant man..they play a little and he's a good submissive in the bedroom. Boy was I wrong...it was much more.

I don't usually read full on BDSM. I can get behind some spanking (no pun intended) and some tying up. And I love a dominant man in the bedroom. So, when I came up on the first club scene I proceeded cautiously. I'm glad I did. There was so much more here then just hot sex and flogging.

Alexander and his football buddies decide to go to a "grownup" club. Come to find out it's a BDSM club and one of his buddies wants to train as a Dom. Lincoln is the club owner and spots Alex on the cameras before they get in. He's interested...immediately. After drawing Alex on stage as more of a challenge, Linc is impressed and Alex is hooked. Thus, begins they're relationship.

These two characters were amazing. Their banter was hilarious and I loved how BOTH were obsessed over the other. The problems came when Alex insists he's not gay but can't forget Lincoln. There were so many times my heart just ached for Alex. I can't imagine the agony of not being able to be who you are...and I'm not just talking about being gay. He struggles just in his everyday life especially because of his overbearing grandfather. And Lincoln struggled with his feelings for Alex, a guy deep in the closet and not just the gay one either. Needless to say, I shed some tears...my heart was breaking a time or two.

And can I just sat What The Everloving FUCK with the ending?? I'm dying here!! I need Tank's story now!

ARC kindly provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

This one was a short, hot read with enough plot to keep me satisfied.

I liked Alex's character, how behind the perfect facade he hid doubts and worries about his future, but I think I liked Lincoln more. I have a thing for characters whose life just gets turned upside down when they meet a person they want not just for today or tomorrow, but forever.

Anyway, this book was kinky rather than sweet. Some scenes were outright hot and bothering, and even though I'm not a big fan of BDSM in books ;) it was well-made here, never off-key. It fit with the story and with the character's role.

Honestly, I hadn't expected to like this one, what with the erotica label which I tend to shy away from and the relative shortness, instead it was pretty good.

dnf @36%

This is a poorly edited, completely unrealistic mess. No character development at all. A total alpha-hole dom. The word "pussy" used 357x cuz apparently calling each other that is manly & what athletes do.

I'm sacking this book and the quarterback it's about. Apparently I'm too much of a pussy to force myself to finish this.

Let's be honest here : I couldn't resist the cover. There, it's said.
An enjoyable read if you're not looking for a BDSM story, because I don't think this is what it's about. I didn't put any real belief in this book, so it was good.
It's a story about a young guy who tries to please his family above his own needs and can't hide anymore what he wants once he meets THE guy that does it for him.
I quite like the banter between friends, the cheesy way all comes well in the end : I needed that when I read that book.
I guess I will read the next story about Tank and his speedo guy...Could be fun too !

DNF at 34%.

That's about 10% longer than I wanted to read since I initially wanted to DNF this stupid book at 25%. But I kept at it to see if I'd change my mind. I didn't.

This book was a total miss for me.

I stopped when I got to the point where Alexander has gotten drunk to deal with the fact that Lincoln fucked with his head from the scene they did (see further down). Alexander's friend is out of town, so he calls Lincoln to save Alexander from himself, and from getting hurt, since he's gone to a gay (bdsm?) club drunk off his ass.

------------------------------
"How about you just pick him up and take him back to his apartment. I'll be back in town tomorrow and I can check on him. You've fucked with him enough. Just let him go."
Let him go. Again. I don't think so. "I'm sorry, Tank. I can't do that. I want Alexander and I can't remember a time when I didn't get what I wanted. I'll take care of him. Again, thank you for calling me." I hung up before the other man could argue. I completely understood why he felt the way he did. I just didn't care. I wanted Alexander.

------------------------------

Possessive much?? Who the heck does this guy think he is??

The story went downhill from me with the first scene at the club. That is before 15% by the way.
Lincoln "persuades" (read: pressure) Alexander to join him on stage in front of all the club crowd at Lincoln's BDSM club. Alexander isn't one to back down from a challenge, so he goes up on the stage even though he really doesn't want to, but he doesn't want to appear as a "pussy"... Lincoln continues to persuade Alexander to take of his clothes, get cuffed to a St. Andrew's cross, blind folded, and then given a spanking by a crop no less. And this is still in front of an audience.

How the heck can you put a person through a full on BDSM scene with someone you haven't even met before, let alone talked to, or discussed limits, scenes, safewords! The first topic of conversation would very much be "Are you into BDSM in the first place?" Following up with "Do you like getting naked in front of people? Are you into exhibitionism? Do you want to be cuffed? To a St. Andrew's cross? Do you like to be blindfolded? In front of an audience? Do you like getting spanked? By a crop? In front of an audience?

I don't think you can get any further from SSC - Safe, Sane and Consensual that I feel is a an absolute base line dealing with BDSM themes. Lincoln totally pressured Alexander into doing this scene by pure group pressure. Also, the way Lincoln intensely possessed over Alexander in almost a creepy way.

------------------------------
My driver is waiting. I'll take you downstairs to meet him," I countered. (...)
"There's no way I'm going to let you know where I live, asshole. Call me a cab," he demanded again.
"Why would I care where you live, Alexander? You're straight. Remember?" Of course I wanted to know where he lived, but he didn't need to know just how badly I wanted the information.

------------------------------

*splutters* What the... what??

Ugh, I didn't find any side of either of the main characters personalities that I liked, or the secondary characters for that matter. Their locker room way they talked and behaved was just off putting to say the least.

------------------------------
You haven't lived until you've been one of the two cocks snuggled inside the tight ass of your lover.
~thought by Lincoln~
------------------------------

------------------------------
Then he was gone, leaving me sporting a boner of epic proportions. Tomorrow night, I'm going straigh to Tabitha's (Alexander's girlfriend. Yes, he's got a girlfriend!) apartment and fucking her until I can't even remember Lincoln's name.
------------------------------

No. Just, no.

4.5* really and I'm only knocking the half off because I wanted more!

As I've said elsewhere in my reviews, BDSM isn't usually my thing because I don't know enough about it to understand why someone would want the pain alongside the sex.
However, with Touchdown I think I've now got more of an insight into the world of the Dom/sub and the sexual tensions in this book were off the Richter Scale.

I could completely understand why giving up control to Lincoln worked for Alex, it took him out of his head and into a place where nothing else mattered but the bittersweet contrast between pain and pleasure.
TS my goodness do you know how to write a love scene! Best keep a bucket of ice on hand when you read this because this book is a turn on from start to finish.

The finish was a bit abrupt but we do get a peek into two weeks later in the opening chapter of the second book in this series about Tank and Dakota.

And, speaking of Tank, I loved all the ancillary and secondary characters in this setting and I liked how the author had cleverly laid down little hints that Alex's parents might not be as bad as it first appeared.

I want to know more about Marcus and his dad now, about Mason, and about Lincoln's early life learning to be a Dom because this is one of the few BDSM stories I've now read where people haven't used the pain as a way of punishing themselves in an angsty dramatic fashion which does nothing for me at all (Leta Blake I'm looking at Training Season here as that was just soooo much pain and suffering and heartache even if it also had amazing romance, eroticism, love and a HEA eventually and is still a book I love!)

This book has some flaws, the narrative is a bit jumpy in the tenses it uses from time to time, and there's a bit of an insta love about their relationship, but I do truly believe people can have life changing moments when they meet their soulmate so I'm willing to let it slide.

And oh Lord the humour! This book is just plain out hilarious at times and Alex has such a mouth on him. I loved how the author gave unique voices to both her men and Alex's was just straight out snark.

Oh man, I loved this book. I felt the same way about Overtime when that was released earlier this year so I was excited for another T.S. McKinney book, and I was not disappointed!

Alexander and Lincoln were combustible from the start. I adored the way Lincoln fell for Alexander. Adored it. I was cheering for them the whole time. By the end, I was so proud of Alex and how far he had come it felt like I knew him personally. My heart broke for them, both individually and together, a few times throughout, but I also laughed SO MUCH. Alex's thoughts especially were absolutely hysterical at times. I loved the ending so much - the last lines had me laughing out loud yet again. I really enjoyed the secondary characters as well - notably, Tank. Oh, and Alexander's mother. You go, Matilda!

There is also a sneak peek of the next book in the series (Tank's) at the end. I am now DYING for the next book. Thanks for that, T.S! :D

4.5 TIE ME UP STARS. God how I loved this book. This is the first book I've read by this author but I am a total fan.

Alex is a star quarterback, has plenty of money, great friends...his life sounds perfect right? And Alex is great at making those around him believe that is true. He buries who he truly is so deep that you could never tell just how miserable he is and how he dreads what the rest of his life has in store for him.

Lincoln is a well known Dom that owns his own BDSM club. He never lets anyone close because of hurts that he endured in his past. He finds submissives to use for a short time or one night and that is it and never do they go to his home, his safe place.

Alex goes to Lincoln's club with some friends sort of as a dare. Never did he believe that he would find the submissive side of himself and certainly he would never be attracted to a man. That night starts something new for these two. Alex wants to explore all of these new feelings and Linc wants Alex more than he has ever wanted another. Linc knows he will be devastated in the end because he sees something in Alex that he never knew he wanted...forever.

This book is so much deeper than I thought it was going to be. I thought it would just be a bit of smutty goodness. While that aspect plays a part in this story, there's also a great storyline of love and angst to go with it. I can't wait for Tank's story. I adored him in this book and can't wait to read more about him finding his HEA.

My only complaint is the abrupt ending to the story. I needed just a bit more. Even one month into the future would've worked for me. It just felt unfinished for me. I know we will get more of these two amazing characters in the next book, another reason to look forward to the next book.
