Heidi as usual has a problem only a spell can fix. Except a lot of this one isn't her fault. Henry causes the disaster which means her hair needs to be cut. The spell to fix the bad haircut? Well, that leads to new disasters which makes Heidi almost thankful for the really mundane and non-magical solution. Which is as it should be.
Heidi is still Heidi in this book. While this isn't the best book in the series, and there's not a lot of character growth, I do think there's still an important message here about being yourself - whoever you happen to be. If Heidi can just learn to be okay with who she is, she won't have to worry about how the rest of the world thinks of her.
What I did like though is the family working together for a solution. It's nice to see she has a strong support system for even problems like this.
I loved this book because her hair changed into the principal's hair and all her friends. It was so funny because her hair would change all the time. Heidi thought Henry was lying but Henry wasn't lying. I laughed out loud because it was so funny and I couldn't stop!

Henry's vehicle gets stuck in Heidi's hair. Cutting her hair is the only workable solution. After mom does this, Heidi has a large areas with little hair. Her aunt, mom and she use a spell but something goes wrong and her hair changes to be like whoever she looks at. Readers will appreciate the humor and be glad for a realistic solution at the end.
Heidi has a hair disaster when her brother's toy gets so tangled in her hair that her mom has to cut it out. Together with her aunt and mom, the three of them perform a spell to fix her hair. What they didn't expect was the spell to have such wacky and silly results!
Much of the same the spell never works. It was nice to see them working together, but there hasn’t been a lot of growth from book one. The enjoyment for my seven year old isn’t in this series anymore.
my favorite part is when henry, heidi's brother, has that toy dog and puts it by her hair because he has something to do and he says no touching and then it immediately turned on and went in heidi's hair.
