I had really hoped by volume three that I would enjoy this series, but unfortunately it falls flat. The queer baiting is honestly exhausting. Just make them lovers already and stop dancing around the topic because it's considered "taboo" or whatever. The plot is dull and too inconsistent to really grab you. I've read a lot of these adventurer guild/dungeon crawl type stories, and this has to be the worst in terms of how the plot flows. You're not given enough backstory or context to really have a clear idea where the story is going or what the point to anything is. This isn't even a case of being dragged along for the ride. It feels like each chapter is thought up on the spot and nothing is planned out or really ever explained fully to make it sink in or have meaning.

Interestingly enough, it sounds like Lizel has changed quite a bit from the original LNs, per the author's notes. More pertinently, the story gets more interesting as it goes on (good thing; I need to read 10 volumes of it), and the inclusion of his original world was a nice touch.

He's really building up his own BL harem, too.

After an action-packed volume two, volume three of A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation proceeds at a calmer pace. There is less fighting in this one, but more fun and sweet moments between Lizel, Gil and Judge, which made me smile. Some interesting new characters and plot points have been introduced, too, so I am keen to see how things will go in volume four. As usual the artwork looks great. I read an e-ARC and the formatting was a little screwy, which led to the bottom of all the pages being cut off, chopping through text and illustration. However, I am sure that will be fixed up before the official release in June. All up, this was another fun read and I am still interesting in continuing the series.

I received this book as a free eBook ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The art style continues to be very pretty to my eyes; I love it.

I still like/prefer Gil over Lizel because certain characters just consume my soul and leave me attached.

I still don’t quite care about the plot/story itself but it still wasn’t bad. And the characters still aren’t particularly annoying. It feels…too short.

This vol was so much fun! All the little tidbits like Lizel's and Gil's teasing about their sleeping arrangements with Judge or they drinking party where Judge got to brag to Studd just how close he slept to Lizel. Curious about the whole bandits thing. Also got to meet Eleven, he seems like a really fun guy (and gets massive plus points for being a redhead).

This volume seems like maybe we’ll finally be getting into the main plot soon? Not that I am unhappy with the very character focused portions because I very much enjoy everyone’s interactions but I am also looking forward to getting into the meat of the story. Both this volume and the last seemed to be sowing the seeds and kind of peppering in bits of intrigue so I’m hopeful. Anyway, love these guys and am looking forward to reading the further adventures of Lizel and his harem.

A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation, Volume 3, by Misaki continues the tale of a noble's unintentional trip. After defeating the underground dragon and finishing up their business in the mercantile city of Marcade, Lizel and Gil resume their journey, having promised Judge's grandfather to protect Judge along the way. But danger soon catches up to them when a strange group of bandits called the Forky Gang attacks in the middle of the night! It quickly becomes clear that someone is targeting Lizel, but who could it be, and for what reason?

A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation's third volume picks up right where the previous volume left off, and then takes off running. I really enjoyed this volume and thought it moved the story along and introduced or fleshed out some of the previously introduced characters really well. I was great to see some of where Lizel came from, and how he reacts to the other characters and the possibility of being the target of a bandit gang. The art was consistent in style and quality with the previous volumes, and I thought the detail and line work was very well done. I enjoyed this read a great deal. My biggest complaint is that the volume ended way too soon for me, and I am ready for more.

The characters were great and I loved the artwork. The plot kind of meanders. A lot of the time I wasn't sure where the story was going or what the point was. It didn't feel planned out at all, and nothing seems to have a lot of meaning. Feels like a bunch of filler scenes with no overarching story for the volume. I enjoyed it, but it doesn't leave me really eager to see what comes next.

In this volume, we get more of Lizel's back story, and get a peek into the parallel world he came from, where everyone is very concerned about his sudden disappearance. Lizel and Gil go to update the map for the Crystal Ruins, and are met with a bit of disbelief until Lizel produces one of the underground dragon's scales. From there, the pair head to check in with Judge, and meet Insigh, Judge's grandfather, who is won over by Lizel's boldness and charm. On the journey home, they run into a group of bandits called the Forky Gang. A confrontation ensues, and a frightened Judge looks to Lizel for comfort afterward, giving us some sweet soft boi moments. Back at home, Lizel and Gil go to see Studd at the guild, and Lizel levels up to a D-ranked adventurer. Just as they're making plans to celebrate, a stranger asks if he can join their party. He introduces himself as Eleven, a solo C-ranked adventurer, and says he wants to be in a party strong enough to defeat an underground dragon. Lizel turns him down for the time being, but is intrigued by him. Studd and Judge join the celebration, and it's fun getting to see everyone loosen up a bit and have fun, plus we get a taste of Studd's back story. The next day, Eleven tries again to join their party, and gets shot down again, but we know he'll be back in the future. Lizel accepts a request to help a theater company with magic effects, and is rewarded with two tickets to the first performance.
This installment has a more secretive tone, as an overall tone of Something Is Going On Here is all over the place in more than one form. Intrigue is everywhere, and I can't wait to see how the various threads play out! We get several good swoony moments (Lizel is collecting a nice little harem!), and I liked seeing what's going on in Lizel's world- I can't recall many isekai that show the person who has been isekai'd being missed, I really wanna know what happens with that! I do hope we get some clues about how and why Lizel got sent to the parallel world in the next volume- it's getting to be about time for some bigger hints and exposition, I need something more solid! Now if you'll excuse me, volume 4 awaits!

Finally! Some actual character backgrounds and plot! It shouldn't really have taken three volumes to get here, but this was excellent.

Still nothing really about Gil, but we finally learn who Lizel is in his alternate world and get to meet the people who matter to him there. I'm very curious about his relationship with the king and hope we get to see his reaction to Gil. Suddenly heartbroken though at the notion of Lizel going back to his reality and leaving Gil behind...do they have monsters to fight there? Would Gil go with him?

There's also some interesting backstory for Studd, too, and we see Judge's grandfather. They're fun characters - not sure how old they're supposed to be exactly, or how old any of the characters are, but I guess Lizel is meant to be a bit older than he looks? He's very indulgent with the younger guys (who run businesses etc so they're obviously not that young) and sees them as cute puppies and kittens who are obvious in their desire to snuggle up to him.

I continue to love Lizel's relationship with Gil and am wholly on Gil's side when it comes to this new character, Eleven. Unfortunately, he seems to feature prominently on the next cover (without Gil even???), which seems like a bad sign that despite Gil's stated preferences, Lizel will probably allow him to join their party. Ugh. I don't mind more new characters, but I am wary of stories where exciting new characters pull away from the ones I'm already interested in and haven't gotten to know well enough.

But that's a concern for the next book...on its own, this one was excellent. It cuts off in a weird spot - the pacing for these volumes is strange - but I'm not too concerned about that since I already have the next one waiting.

This volume is just like the ones prior where the main character Lizel is bizarrely affectionate with other men in ways that could only be described as dog-like, (such as when Lizel pats Studd's head, or rubs the side of his face). Judge also brags about how he got to sleep next to Lizel when they're all out drinking?? Like, I don't think that's the kinda thing men brag about when they're out drinking. Then Studd gets all jealous about that, and he's show clenching his fist and says that's enough flirting. So, it is flirting then? But in the beginning Lizel is shown saying to Gil after Gil is accused of being gay that he 'didn't know you played for that team' and that they'd have to 'end their partnership'. So, Lizel doesn't like men and doesn't wanna be around men who do? Then why would he behave like this?! It's frustrating. Make them gay, or don't and write them having platonic relationships. Don't make them these stone-cold adults whos personalities somehow change when some stranger pats their head once.

It doesn't help that the story is boring and completely meaningless. The idea of an isekai protagonist who's from a similar universe that also has magic, and uses this new world as an excuse to have a calm vacation could be so fun and show a lot of character. You could even keep the weird gay-not-gay subplot! An interesting idea that just came to mind is have Lizel lead all these guys on while not actually liking any of them. That makes the story stand out, would make for an interesting character, and would create some conflict this series desperately needs.

The art is decent, but doesn't stand out in the slightest and doesn't save this book at all.

With Judge's business concluded, Lizel and Gil head back to their home base, but they're starting to run into more and more human opposition . . .

This volume focuses a lot more on Judge and Studd, two of the young men Lizel has befriended. I was amused at all the puppy comparisons Lizel is making for Judge. Studd, the guild receptionist, has a surprising past that explains a lot of his earlier behaviors, and it's clear how much Lizel's approval has come to mean to him.

Plotwise the slow slice of life is starting to turn into more of a mystery, or maybe conspiracy. Lizel has always had a way of provoking people, but now it's starting to look like someone might be deliberately trying to take him out.

We also get a very brief scene with the people Lizel left behind, which was amusing. Him being unexpectedly absent is now a national emergency, due to a certain someone who won't take "impossible" for an answer.

Artwise this is again looking very nice. I especially like the nuance in Studd's expressions, where he can continue looking relatively expressionless but still have hints of annoyance or joy.

Overall if you liked the first volumes, this one won't disappoint. I rate this book Recommended.

First of all, I thank netgalley for providing me with the third volume of this manga, my review will be 100% honest. In this third volume we continue with the story of Lizel and Gil, now we are joined by some characters who have already made their appearance in the previous volumes, throughout this volume we can see more of their adventures and learn a little more about the world of where Lizel comes from, maybe in the next one it will look like that world will try to rescue him. Although I like the story, I feel that it turns the same thing, I don't spend much in this part. I feel like they focused more on relationships which is good, but if it's adventure they should show more of that and not just basic adventures, since real adventures only name them. The characters are wonderful, I like the protagonists because they are polar opposites but they complement each other well, as for the secondary characters I like how they are developing them and how they are interacting with Lizel (Lizel's protection squad) I keep recommending this manga as it is quite light and easy to read. For me I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I particularly liked this volume because we finally get a glimpse of Lizel's life before he appeared in Gil's world. Although brief, it conveys many feelings that contrast with the calm and relaxed tone of the manga in general. The effect balances the reading quite a bit, not to mention that the development takes us on an interesting path by focusing on more characters in addition to the two protagonists.

This third installment just deepens the plot for both our adventurers, providing a solid political plot and more questions than answers ( a great way to make us move fast towards the coming installments!!)

Opening the experience to magical beast, treasure filled mazes and a huge undergoing conspiracy makes the experience of reading this manga less action filled (as the ones before) and more info dumpy. Still it keeps a got hook towards the main story plot and adds enough new characters and, together with the questing scenes, the story spiced up with a little of LGTBQAI+ cute rep that will be fit for all readers.

In sum, not the strongest of the volumes but one that is necessary to reach that action high that we need.

Yet another incredible addition to this series! We started by peeking into what happened in Lizel's world right after his disappearance, which I LOVED! The king's character seems unique, and his relationship with Lizel is something I look forward to seeing developed further. I'm already mourning that Lizel will have to leave behind all of his new friends in this world when he inevitably returns to his own. Lizel, Studd, Gil, and Judge make such a fun squad I can't bear to think about them splitting up!

With the brief bit of information we got on Lizel's old world, I'm becoming more and more curious about his history there and what place he occupies in the minds of the people around him! They seem as similarly enamored with him as the people of this world, so I wonder at the clash that will happen when the worlds meet.

I'm still enjoying this, it's a cute, low stakes read.

I like that they've touched on Lizel's backstory and people, that's nice, now at least I feel less confused about his situation, finally. I like the development with the Forky people, it adds a sense of danger, which this series is very lacking.

It's weird cause it feels like it's been way longer in this manga than it has. Like they're not kidding when they say everyone loves Lizel instantly, cause his relationships develop extremely quickly. I almost wish it was less PG though? Some of the relationships are very cutesy (looking at you Judge) but I think some of them would benefit from being more intense.

Regardless, I like it enough to continue with at least what's on Kindle Unlimited.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for my e-arc.

I still really love this story.
This volume is a lot more chill compared to the previous two. It felt more like a set up volume for things to come in that it introduced a few new characters and focused on developing current relationships more than adventures or quests.
I'm curious to see what will happen from here.
Also, the art is absolutely phenomenal, it's the perfect mix of serious and cute and I'm obsessed.

If you're in the mood for a very chill, quest/adventurers guild story with great characters than this may be the read for you!

The story and plot keeps getting better and better! Seeing people all liking Lizel and him being badass but always with that sweet smile, he's so pure, but it makes me think that things will get troublesome now that we know someone is looking for him from where he came from...
His relationship with Gil seems to be getting intensier and deeper, loved how he now sees Gil as being her equal, something he makes it clear never happened. And Gil's face when says it! They are so cute! Another character that impressed me was Studd, loved seeing a glimpse of his past and a little bit more of him in the present.

Volume 3
was good! There were a few new interesting developments foreshadowing possible dangers on the horizon. Lizel and Gil continue to surprise others by doing the impossible. We’re briefly introduced to a new character who I think will add some liveliness to the story. My favorite part was Judge and Studd basically competing for Lizel’s attention and affection – they’re so adorable! I’m really looking forward to the next volume. It’s gearing up to be a fun one.

This manga series is so wholesome and always sparks joy for me when I’m reading it!

This volume was a bit slower, plot wise but definitely left a ton of seeds to sprout plot in future volumes. Plus, just getting to see these characters interact in softer scenes is always great to see.

I’m excited to see where Gil and Lizel go from here! Hopefully, we get to see some more new characters and their development!

Continuing to just absolutely love this series. Lizel and Gil make me happy on the inside. Lizel is an absolute dream. And we finally got a glimpse into his home world. I'm really curious how he ended up in this alternate world so I hope we get more from the king trying to find him on the home side in the future. Also super shipping Gil and Lizel but I would be splendidly happy without any romance. Slice of life has really been putting me back on track and this volume was a breath of fresh air.

I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first two. I'm starting to understand the world better and I feel like I'm missing less than before from not having read the light novels. Judge and Studd are both adorable. Their adoration of Lizel is hitting new heights already. Lizel really does inspire that in people so quickly.
Curious about the bandits and what tactics will be taken next. Also intrigued by Eleven the half snake man and his real reasons for wanting to join the party and what it will take for that to happen.
I liked seeing what was happening in Lizel's real world and how his king is going looking for him.
On to the next!

Back again on more adventures and shenanigans! Picking up where the last book left off, Lizel and Gil are resuming their journey and are facing various mercenaries and danger while also having cute friendship moments. Reading this book was just an overall fun story! I love the artwork and I love reading all the little moments and journey that Lizel and co go on!

Such a cute volume

I loved this volume. We finally get to see a bit of Lizel’s world and the king looks so fun. Things are starting to get dangerous for our little Lizel but he always keeps his cool and his smile. I love this about him. I wish we could see more of Gil. I want to know more about him (also how hot is he, right). The friendships (that could become more?) in this volume is so cute.

Totally totally love this manga! I love the adventure they face! Lizel has that personality that is so charming!! He is also so keen and can notice things quickly! I enjoy how he touches the lives of those he meets! I’m so curious as to how he got to that world and what will his King find him! Things just get better by the volume! Thank you so much for another great volume! Looking forward to volume 4!

Finally get a sneak peak at Liz's home reality and his goofy king. It's short but reassuring to know that they are working on tracking him the moment he disappeared. He seemed so passive taking about himself that he made it sound like he wasn't that important. I hope to see more of these glimpses!

Most of the story is super chill and just friends hanging out. Some intrigue is added with the arrival's of the forky gang and what seems to be assassination attempts on Liz.

I know a lot of people want this to be a BL but I am quite glad that the author is sticking to their guns about all the characters' dynamics.

If girls in manga can have their platonic, closer-than-sisters/lovers, relationships without it being romantic then boys can, too.

The youngest are so cute!
