The Decision

Rate this book
The Friessens, stars of the bestselling series, are back with THE DECISION, another heartwarming fan favorite romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Lorhainne Eckhart.

Emily Friessen has everything a woman could want: a husband who’s the love of her life, a family that stands together, and children she wouldn’t trade for anything. To everyone around her, she’s confident and strong—but then, she has to be with a man like Brad, who is all about family and too handsome for his own good.

Emily isn’t as together as she appears, though, and when life throws her and Brad a curveball, it tests their relationship, leaving Emily scrambling and feeling very much alone as both are faced with a decision no parent should have to make.

This is a continuation of the long-running saga that is the Friessen family. In this installment, the story is centered on Brad and Emily. Just when she thinks her kids are almost grown, Emily discovers that she is pregnant and it throws her into a complete tailspin. The love that has always existed between Brad and Emily gets tested in ways that it never has before. This was a great addition to the ongoing series even as it appears to be setting the stage for the next Friessen generation.

Love, Love, just Loved this story

I have been trying to read this book for awhile. I finally did and I was not disappointed. Lorhainne has me wanting to Read the Friessens books 1-5 but I have to read the Forgotten Child first. Alright what I do know. Brad and Emily are both were previously married. They have blended their family. He had a son Trevor who is the oldest and his son from his previous relationship. Emily is the next oldest and she is her daughter from a previous marriage. They have Becky next who is theirs together. Where the "Decision" comes in is she just recently discovered she is pregnant and doesn't know how she feels about it and to make things harder, her hormones are going crazy, making her say and do crazy things. Great story line. Well written. Covers great subject matters. She covers autism, which their son Trevor is. She covers bullying, blended families and most of all woman who are older and find theirselves pregnant and are facing all of the issues it may involve. Loved this story 💔💙.

THE DECISION is filled with a roller coaster of emotions when Brad and Emily are faced with possibly the hardest decision of their lives. This one will definitely tug at your heartstrings as Emily wrestles with feelings that she finds alien and out of her control. Brad’s and Emily’s struggles are heartbreaking at times and are ones that many may identify with, which is sure to add feelings of compassion for how they are trying to cope with these new challenges. It’s another compelling Friessen family tale that is sure to pull you in from the beginning and keep you engaged until the end. One of the things I love best about these stories is that even though there’s usually an end to each episode, there’s always another story to come.

The Decision (The Friessens) (The Friessens #5) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Emily Friessen has a husband she loves, a family that stays together, and children she wouldn’t trade for anything. Everyone around her believes that she is confident and strong. But life throws her and Brad a curveball and it tests their relationship. Emily feels very alone as they are faced with a decision no parent should have to make. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Heartbreaking!

This was a hard story to read. I love Brad and Emily and to share this struggle with them was very difficult and quite often left me choked up. It truly showed the emotional struggles families can face and didn't sugar coat it, which is something I've come to expect from this author. Well written, great story, and well worth reading.

The characters are like family!

I'm getting to know the characters personally it seems. I enjoy a well written story series so I can meet everyone! Each book is good on it's own, but put together it makes them great.

I am simply blown away at the level of attention this author paid to her characters and to creating a story line that felt real. It's rare to come across such dedication to creating a book that draws you in so deeply and allows you to truly feel for the characters. Not only are the characters incredibly complex, but their story feels so real that you can't help but get emotional when reading their story.

Everyone has had a spat with their spouse and Eckhart does a fantastic job at capturing the raw emotion felt during such a time. Your heart will feel each cold slap as Emily lashes out at her husband. And, you'll feel the anger that begins to bubble up in Brad as his wife says and does things that he never thought possible. Of course, you also can't help but feel for Emily as she goes through such a difficult time.

This was such a fantastic read that I would recommend it to anyone that's looking for real romance, not unrealistic romance where everything is peaches and cream. Just be advised that this book is hard to put down once you get started. Make sure you've cleared some time from your schedule to sit down and enjoy this book from start to finish.

Another installment in the Friessen Family saga. The Decision brings us back to Brad and Emily. The kids are older and while Emily should be thinking about what she can do for herself with the extra time she finds herself with, she feels off. She isn't feeling well. When Brad notices, he takes her to the doctor where they get life-changing news.

Emily is not handling the news well at all and starts lashing out at everyone who cares about her.

Two of the things I have enjoyed about The Friessen books are that everything is not always sunshine and roses, and that they can always count on other members of the family to tell it like it is, while being as supportive as possible. The Decision includes both of those things.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Friessens and The Friessens: A New Beginning( By Lorhainne Eckhart

One of the best series I have ever read about family that sticks together no matter what differences they may have they are always their for each other. I really enjoyed this series and would recommend it to everyone who can't wait to get to the next story. Would read again. Important lessons can be learned from this family. Congratulations, Lorhainne

Brad and Emily having another child, is scaring the both of them. Emily is thinking of all the wrong things to say and do. She is afraid that Brad wouldn't want the baby. But Emily and Brad sat down and talked about everything what the doctor said and what could happened to the both of them. Did Emily have a boy or another girl. Can't wait for the rest of the series that come next.

I’m very happy to revisit Brad, Emily and their family. As with all families, the children are growing and the family faces new issues and how to get them resolved. Brad and Emily each have different views on how these issues are needed to be resolved, and other members of the Freissen family are there to lend their support. A great read with some of my favorite members of the family!

Another emotional visit with the Friessen family. This was Brad & Emily's story and it explored family connections, birth parents, step-parents, pregnancy issues. All kinds of different connections and possibilities (good and bad). Very good story with great characters.

Loved Brad and Emily's story. It was heart warming on how they dealt with their pregnancy and the growing pains of their children. Enjoyed how Neil and Candy provided support to them in their time of crisis. Great story Lorhainne. Really enjoyed it.
