Haven Cove #1

Knox Cabot. Gorgeous. Frustrating. Sculpted perfection.
Years ago, he claimed me as his best friend and then left, never to be heard from again—or so I thought until he showed up last year.
We both spent the summer working at his father's luxury resort. Except he pretended not to know me, ignored me, managed to not even look at me for twelve weeks.
Now we're both back again for another season, and a lot has changed since last year.
He isn't just my secret obsession anymore. He isn't just my boss for the entire summer.
Knox Cabot is about to become my stepbrother.
And given the scorching stares, forbidden touches, and downright dirty things he says, Knox plans to claim me again...only in a hotter, sinful, and much more scandalous way.

Welcome to Haven Cove. Elite, sexy, scandalous—and that's just the guests and staff. At one of the world's most exclusive resorts, someone's always doing something they shouldn't. Or, more likely...someone.
Don't forget the sunscreen. It's amping up to be one long, hot summer.

Each book in the Haven Cove series is a complete standalone with no cliffhangers, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA.

Knox Fucking Cabot has the filthiest mouth and I am here for it. 🤤🤤
Oh my goodness - this was super short and super steamy but I found myself wanting so much more; I would’ve happily read a full length story about Knox and Leighton, just to get a bit more of an insight into their childhood and how they came to be best friends.
All the books in the HAVEN COVE series have an element of “the forbidden” and in ADDICTIVE we see Leighton struggle with the fact that Knox is about to become her Stepbrother.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy read which is heavy on the sex times with low angst, the I can definitely recommend this one. I’m excited to read the rest of the series, starting with BRAZEN, which is a “Dad’s Best Friend” romance 😍

Cute and smexy!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: taboo/step-brother
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Cute and smexy read. Writing was a little jerky at first, but evened out as the story went on. Fun storyline with likable characters. I liked that the hero was all in from the beginning and never wavered. Will definitely give the next one a try as well.

This is some super solid smut right here.

It's a quick read, which usually means you lose some of the character development and depth of connection between the main characters, but I didn't find that to be true in this case. Sure, they had a lot of history prior to the summer when the story takes place, and it would have been cool to see some of that or at least get some more detail, but to be honest I didn't miss it. The intensity of their connection and chemistry shines through without it. Instead, I actually really appreciated the streamlined approach. The author was able to convey a lot of their past with just a few details, and that allowed me to focus on their present.

It's a fun story. The setting kept reminding me of Caddyshack, which could only be a plus. The employee culture in a posh country club made for a great, unique backdrop in which the stepsibling romance takes place.

If I'm being honest, I'm kind of a sucker for a stepsibling trope. It's somewhat taboo to varying degrees depending on the circumstances, but one that's almost always pretty easy for me to swallow. Taboo-lite, for wimps like me. It's got great potential for some forced proximity and some sweet sweet angst built right in. Plus, they tend to be on the smuttier side of things, which is just how I like it.

They're fun, and I read most of them I come across, but this one stands out as being a particularly quality take. The writing is strong. The author manages the moving parts of this story as well as the future stories in the series, which I gather all take place at the same time-ish, with ease. And as I mentioned earlier, she squeezed a novel's worth of connection out of a novella's length. The dialogue feels natural, and the characters are easy to care about.

My only critique, and it's not a very big one, is that I wish we got a little more of the main characters' connection outside of the sex, after they started hooking up. I believed it, I just wanted to see some of it. I didn't need a whole lot, but just a touch more would have gone a long way for me.

This is my first book of this author, and I'm so glad I tried it! Some of the tropes coming up in the series aren't my style, so I'll have to skip ahead a bit, but I'm excited to read more!

On a final note, doesn't the guy on the cover look like he's sniffing his pits?

Knox Cabot use to be her best friend, then one day he left town and that friendship went by the wayside. Then last summer he popped up at the resort she was working at and he treated her like he didn't know her, like they were never friends. It hurt a little more than she would care to admit, but she kept her distance and played along. But his distance and crappy treatment didn't hamper the little crush she carried for him one bit, if anything it made it worse... it was a tortuous summer but she survived. But doing it again this summer? Ya that's not happening!

Knox and Leighton's love story has forbidden written all over it, their two people from different worlds, friends turned enemies, and now two people that are about to become step-siblings. But long before they were enemies, they were the best of friends, friends who fell hard for one another, but never made it past first base. It's been a long four years for Knox, he has carried his crush on Leighton around like a noose around his neck and he is tired of struggling to breath when she is near. He wants her and he plans on doing whatever is necessary to make that happen... even if it requires him to beg. She has tortured him long enough, she should be by his side, not his sworn enemy. But convincing her of that fact might be a little harder than he anticipated!!

I loved watching these two sneak around, try to abide by the rules, and torture each other at every turn... it was quite the entertaining show that had me blushing more than a few times. Their forbidden little romance did not disappoint, it was emotional, dramatic, funny, and oh so steamy!! Highly recommend!!

Leighton is trying to get through her time working at the resort as best as she can. Her best friend Knox left her when they were young, then ignored her for a whole summer while they worked together. She doesn't know why. Knox is the son of the owner of the resort. He hates working there but Leighton is there. He has tried everything he can to stay away but this summer he knows he won't be able to. Only problem is that his dad is marrying her mom. Will Leighton be okay being with Knox after the engagement or will she run?

Step siblings doesn't mean you're related by blood. His dad should be able to marry her mom and you can still be with who you love. Leighton shouldn't have a problem with that. Knox wanting her is so sweet. His dirty mouth is very sexy to her and I love the way she reacts. You should never hold back when it comes to something you want. Kennedy is a good sister to Knox. She gets him. Cole is understanding when it comes to Leighton. Everyone needs a Cole in their life. People will talk about you no matter if you're there or not so why let them get to you. This is a very spicy book. I didn't want this to end!

It wasn't terrible but just somewhat unbelievable. There's a high class resort ran almost entirely by teenagers and they're separated by the color of their polos according to if they're a "townie" or "ivy". If you can get past the far fetched setup, Knox is in love with Leighton even though he ignored her the summer before. He takes her virginity (although she never confirms she's a virgin, he just assumes based on her underwear) and then they have sex numerous places with many close calls of getting caught. Leighton wants to keep them a secret or wait until the end of summer so no one thinks she's getting special treatment by sleeping with her boss. That only lasts a few days. I was also shocked by how accepting Leighton's mom and Knox's dad were of the relationship since they're soon to become step siblings.

I had just finished an emotional roller coaster of a book and was looking for a light, easy read. This fit the bill but I doubt I'll continue with the series.

This was a short read, but definitely didn’t lack in the spice department! Knox & Leighton were hot! They were best friends before he just up & left for boarding school w/out telling her, & when he returned for the previous summer he ignored her. Now he’s graduated & he’s back working for his dads resort & since he doesn’t have to leave at the end of summer, he doesn’t have to ignore the one girl who is all he could think about. Only, now he’s her boss & new to be stepbrother! And she’s hurt by his ghosting her years prior. But after one kiss, Knox is determined to make her his.
My only issue was it was never really clear as to why Knox just up & left w/out telling her. I get when he came back for the summer he ignored her because of how hard saying goodbye would be at the end of summer (which is a s**** excuse). But that doesn’t really justify just leaving town to go to boarding school & never telling her. They were best friends. I am definitely planning on reading the other books in the series, I’m really curious about Kennedy & Drew’s story- age gap, dads best friend!

Want a Hot Sexy Summer Read .. this book is it !! Leighton Howard is just trying to just get through the summer and get ready to go off to college BUT there is one GIANT obstacle in the way and his name is .. Knox Cabot. But there is one little hiccup in the plan of staying away from Knox .. Leighton’s Mom is marrying Knox’s Dad at the end of the summer !!

They might have known each other since they were 12 yrs old but Knox left 4 years ago for school at the drop of a hat and never ever called Leigh .. who wouldn’t be mad and hurt !! I WOULD BE !! But she will keep it together for her Mom or soooo she thought she could !! Knox can be very persuading when he know what he wants and LOVES !!

Can these two make it through to love with all of the townies, ivies, family getting in there way ?? This is young love rekindled and needs a fire to start it boy do they have sparks between them !!

So HOT !! Loved it !!

A super steamy hot story! Leighton has loved Knox for years but it is now a love-hate relationship as he terminated his friendship with her years ago. Now they just work together since he will be her step-brother. However, their chemistry is off the charts as he starts to pursue her and touches her whenever he can. With the divide between social status and the fact that they will be step-siblings, Leighton has to figure out whether she will get her HEA. This story was entertaining from start to finish, and I would definitely recommend getting this book for your library as it is definitely worth the read and the re-reads!

I received a free advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a fair and honest review.

Lola Finn has written a cute, sweet, young love story. Knox and Leighton began as friends, lost touch for a few years, had to overcome lots of hurt feelings, and then admit what they truly felt. I did find it confusing that the previous year Leigh was all butthurt over Knox pretending to not know her, yet this year she's freaking out because she doesn't want people to know she knows him. I didn't count that against my rating for the book because, when together these two were a really adorable, loving couple. I really enjoyed Cole, Leighton's friend/coworker, and am curious what his story is. Also curious about Brex, Knox's cousin, that I feel definitely has a story worth knowing. Looking forward to Kennedy and Drew's story next.

So it’s giving lifetime movie and like what I mean is like I would expect to to see this story on Hallmark channel.
It’s very cute. The relationships are very concise and honestly I’m not at all offended if you really need like some
feel good moments and you’re not looking for a whole Lotta drama you don’t want a whole Lotta second-guessing
you don’t want cheating you don’t want unpredictability, this is a good story to read if you really just need to
feel good about love and there’s a lot of sex in it so if you if you’re looking for some spice, there’s some good spice.
All in all I don’t hate it I would definitely read it again,
but it’s not one that I would like be itching to get my hands on the next book.

For a book that took me 2 hours to read, it wasn't that bad.

Knox and Leighton are ex-best friends who are soon to be steb-siblings. Knox stayed away because he couldn't stand to be away from her at boarding school so he ignored her existence. Yea, seems kind of blah, but whatever. Now, it's the summer before Leighton leaves for college and in a semi-Dirty Dancing backdrop (resort), Knox can no longer deny his feelings for her.

This was a quick, steamy, somewhat angsty romance that was pretty cookie cutter, but enjoyable. Every once in a while it's nice to read something so easy and quick.

Novella's are really not my thing but for a novella I enjoyed this one. Of course it could have been so much better as a whole book with a complete backstory of the couple and their friendship. Once childhood best friends Knox and Leighton no longer acknowledge one another. Once Knox went off to boarding school he pretended Leighton didn't exist that is until this summer they are both back working at his families resort. Oh and by the end of summer Knox will be her step brother so there is that little nugget. This was a super steamy forbidden romance and that boy Knox has quite the dirty little mouth on him. Fun, filthy, fast read...

Addictive is part of the Haven Cove Series. This is the first book I have read from author Lola Finn. It definitely did not disappoint. I loved this book. It’s a fast paced, sexy, second chance, friends to enemies to lovers ,step brother romance!! Leighton and Knox have great chemistry. They were best friends growing up until they weren’t..now the summer after their senior year they are both working at the exclusive resort and Knox just happens to be Leightons boss.. the resort that’s owned by Knoxs dad who just recently asked her mother to marry him.. the chemistry is off the charts. Such a good book!! Thank you for the journey to haven cove ..l will definitely be back for more..

Addictive was my first story by Lola Finn and I really enjoyed it. If you are into stepbrother/stepsister romance you really need to read Knox and Leighton's story. Knox and Leighton used to be friends until Knox ghosted her totally acting as though he didn't know her. Now Knox is back working at his family's resort with Leighton. This time Knox is determined to claim Leighton once and for all. However Leighton tries to resist he is her boss and because in a few months Knox becomes her stepbrother. Can Knox convince Leighton to give them a chance? Looking forward to more!

This is Knox and Leighton’s journey. These two used to be best friends until he left town never to be heard from again. Now Knox has returned, and they are working together for the summer at a local resort, when Knox pretends that Leighton does not exist, the only problem is he is now her boss, and soon to be her stepbrother. This is a well written story which has family, emotions, tension, undeniable chemistry, drama, intrigue, and love, which leads to a steamy and entertaining page turner.

You ever go into a book and just feel that it's going to rock your day? ADDICTIVE did that for me. I was so caught in the web that I didn't move and had no desire to.

Leighton and Knox move fast but they know how to give you a story. The secondary characters also piqued my curiosity for more.

It's a mix that tastes so good and leaves an even better aftertaste. Lola is a new author but I can proudly say I'll be looking for more. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

This was a great hot quick read. Holy cow! Knox and Leighton are soon to be step siblings and boy does he want her. There is nothing Knox wants more than Leighton. These two have amazing chemistry and wow did they burn up the pages. This was a great story about family, friends and where do we really belong. Leighton had some big decisions to make, and wow did she make them. I really enjoyed this authors writing style and look forward to seeing what happens next in this series.

One hot steamy, forbidden and fun novella.

Leighton and Knox had been friends before they turned into enemies who are now becoming stepsiblings. Years ago Knox left for boarding school and when he came back last year he pretended not to know Leighton. His father owns summer resort where Leighton works.

This year his father is marrying her mother. But he is done pretending to not know her. He wants her.
-----
Knox has one dirty mouth. I loved his dominant character. Leighton has the most growth in this book and it was empowering. The dynamic between the two MCs is so fun.

The chemistry is off the charts. It is a novella, but still there is enough story around the steamy scenes and the characters actually have a full backstory.

I am ready to read the other books in the series.

I read this short & sweet novel and it was okay. The storyline sounded so good and I wanted so much spice… but there’s wasn’t much 🤷🏼‍♀️ the characters were bland and there wasn’t much chemistry between anyone. It felt rushed. The writing also confused me. The go from first person to third person throughout the entire book, and that is frustrating. Stick to one of the freaking other🤷🏼‍♀️

Honestly… not worth the read 🥴

This is the 1st book I've read written by Lola Finn; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Knox is Leighton's first love. And now boss. And soon to be step brother. It's seriously every troupe combined and so good with it! Flirty and fun with steamy steal away moments.

I'm intrigued with Brex and Cole. Hoping they get books 😍

(The resort setting reminded me of the beach clubs in Saved by the Bell and 90210)

Knox & Leighton

They've known each other for years, they were best friends at one time. Then he went to boarding school and came back 4 years later. He loves Leighton but tries to stay away from her. This book is short but steamy, their attraction is years in the making and the book is worth the read.

Quickie

Short and fiery.
Seems to be a series of connected standalones, so that is nice.
The characters have a long history with each other and now decided to make the big leap into a relationship.
A locals vs the rich folk theme causes some problems.
And their parents add a twist of their own
