2018 In a desperate attempt to overcome his writer's block, Kim Seokjin rents a cottage by the sea on a remote island in the southern part of Korea for the summer, intent on successfully completing a story.
1933 Min Yoongi spends his nights tending the lighthouse, providing a light on the horizon for lost sailors to navigate safely, all the while feeling lost by himself, a lightkeeper without a guiding light.
There are some people who are meant to cross paths, even if it means time itself must bend to accommodate them.
"The tides and time have been the same before Seokjin came to be, and they will continue after he is gone. But they stopped for a moment, just a moment, to teach Seokjin about impossibilities, and hope."
This story was... everything I wanted it to be and more. The writing is beyond beautiful, the characters, the storyline, and every beautiful quote in this novel were worth the read.
"He might be the lightkeeper, but it feels like Seokjin is the light."
It is a story that transcends time and reality, about love so genuine and pure that I felt like my heartbeat and the character's were one. I can still feel the sweet blow of the wind near the cottage, I can still hear the calming lullaby of the ocean waves crashing against the rocks, and I still can see the sky full of stars at the top of the lighthouse.
Seokjin was the most beautiful gift the sea could give Yoongi.
"Time," she tells him, "has no regard for our feelings. It keeps going, dragging us along. Even when we've left something behind."
Lo leí justo cuando Jin se estaba en listando y sufrí mucho. No solo por lo que pasaba en la vida real si no que en la historia en no se acordaba. Y al final simplemente lo ame porque me transportaba al Faro
