God is calling. Will you answer? Turning a blind eye to the suffering around us has become a way of life for many. The world tempts us to pursue our self interests at the expense of others, neglect the poor, and ignore Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations. Our society has abandoned God’s values of love, generosity, and forgiveness. You have a vital role to play in turning the tides. God is inviting you to fulfill His vision for the church. What Is God’s Vision? The Christian author and apologist C.S. Lewis once wrote, “Enemy-occupied territory - that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed...and is calling us all to take part in a great campaign of sabotage." Storm The Provoking The Church To Fulfill God’s Mission , is an eye-opening book about Christian mission and discipleship. It is more than another Christian devotional. It is a call to arms. You are the saboteur God is calling to engage the world with acts of love, kindness, and forgiveness. When you deny yourself, loving those in need sacrificially, you assault the Gates of Hell and take ground for King Jesus. Storm the Gates will help Join Nathan on his journey to become one of God’s saboteurs. By putting God’s Word into action, you will become a beacon of light in a world of spiritual darkness. “ Storm the Gates is powerful and practical. Every page encourages the reader to fulfill Jesus’ commands to care for the needy and make disciples of all nations, all while keeping the glorification of God at the forefront.” - Charles Fielding, M.D., Author of Preach and Heal
Nathan challenges the church to storm the gates of hell by putting the core truths of the Gospel, that the American church has largely ignored, into practice. He uses lots of scripture, wisdom imparted on him by God and personal stories after many years living intentionally in an urban low income community to make his case. He is humble, self-reflective and quick to point out areas of sin, pride and blindspots in his own heart.. which gave me freedom to do so in my own life. I appreciated the questions and challenges he included at the end of each chapter as well! Must read.
