Jack Wallen is what happens when a Gen Xer mind-melds with present day snark. Jack is a seeker of truth and a writer of words with a quantum mechanical pencil and a disjointed beat of sound and soul. Although he resides in the unlikely city of Louisville, Kentucky, Jack likes to think of himself more as an interplanetary traveler, on the lookout for the Satellite of Love and a perpetual movie sign...or so he tells the reflection in the mirror (some times in 3rd person). Jack is the author of numerous tales of dark, twisty fiction including the I Zombie series, the Klockwerk Movement, the Fringe Killer series, Shero, The Nameless Saga, and much more.

I have always enjoyed Wallen's books and this one is no different. I have to admit even though this is a horrific tale I couldn't help but laugh at the sarcastic comments spewing from the mouth of the cannibals while taunting their future victims.

This is far from your average story of an apocalypse with flesh eaters. No
not Zombies because they do not reanimate after death. Fortunately for the
survivors. This tale is about Dr. Vega and his surgeon ex wife running a real
hospital during an apocalypse. The flesh eaters are just that humans who have
a disease that makes them crave long pork. But it is just as dangerous trying
to survive. The flesh eaters have all their thoughts and speak as if they were just
your everyday human. But they usually start right off telling you they will enjoy
every bite of you. Jack Wallen is a genius writer.

Interestingly different!

fEaR by Jack Wallen, is an interestingly different zombie/vampire apocalypse. The dark humor worked to help some survive, but the canned humor of those afflicted individuals who craved eating human flesh, made my skin crawl every time one of the previously human monsters slipped up behind someone & loudly cackled a bd joke! Oh I hope if we have an apocalypse, it doesn't end anything like this!

A nail biting ride for a new kind of apocalypse as we follow Vega trying to do some good in the world as he and Janet recruit a ragtag bunch of fellow helpers trying to make a difference.

Really enjoyed reading this. It's a real page turner

Pretty interesting take to make zombies sentient. Characters were developed enough you could care. But every surgery was on the intestines which was repetitive and the lumping of all prion diseases together like they have no differences was kind of annoying.

Good series start

Very zombiesque, but a different take. Author did a good job with character development in a small span of time. Good characters, likeable people. Looks like more books in the series, but he has lots of places he can take this....I'm on to the next...,

An entertaining read with a new spin on the zombie apocalypse. By the end of the book, the future seems very bleak.
