Ophelia
My family name is a curse. A burden. An inescapable shadow looming over me and all of Russia.
No matter how fast I run, I can’t elude the person casting that shadow. A menace that only had a name and a story but no face.
That menace now had its eyes directly on me, and my only saving grace was the man I’d made the mistake of falling in love with.
Sascha. A gorgeous man that dealt with far too much he should know nothing about. The symbol of a life I couldn’t have but desperately wanted.
We were about to face our worst test. As a fixer for the Russian Bratva, it was my job to repair the damages- to erase the mistakes- to do what those high and mighty deemed too tedious.
Everything was coming into scope, but could I handle the perilousness without him?

Sascha
I was born fifteen years too early, but I wasn’t going to let a little thing like age stop me from having the love of my life.
The dangers of her job were nothing more than nagging to me. They were situations I’d heard of after the fact, when all was said and done.
My job as a university professor was mundane and simple, and I liked that.
But Ophelia’s honored position in the Bratva threatened to steal our somewhat normal life. That ominous shadow grew and darkened, and there was nothing she or I could do to stop it.
Now, though, I was embroiled to my ears in Ophelia’s dealing when her boss decides to clean house.
I would never leave her, but there may be nothing left to save if she’s not careful.

Ophelia is the daughter of one of the most important criminal families in Russia, who make the mistake of trying to kill the most powerful man and their boss, Makovich. His son Aleksander is in charge of making them pay, so he kills them, leaving Ophelia and her sisters alive. Ophelia is a very smart and capable woman, so Aleksander wants to use her for his own purposes, but Ophelia is much smarter than he thinks and she finds out the whole truth behind the failed assassination attempt. Her great love Sascha is a university professor who is twice her age, but who makes her immensely happy. Ophelia often doubts whether to continue with him or not, since her life is too dangerous and she does not want him to be trapped in cross fire.
For me the most interesting story of this author so far.

🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫

Sometimes the innocent pay the highest price in the end

The Fixer is the first of three books in the Bratva Dark Allegiance series by Raven Scott. This first book is about Ophelia and Sascha and takes place in Russia. Let's just say that Ophelia's family, father, mother and brother, are way over the head in the Bratva and end up pulling the innocent Ophelia into a situation that is heartbreaking. For the last four years, since just after her eighteenth birthday, Ophelia has dated Professor Sascha Matheson, who taught nuclear chemistry at Moscow State University. Her parents have hated him because he was not born in Russia even though he moved there when he was a child before the end USSR and is more Russian than some Russians. But they will not have much to say about the matter for much longer it seems. In order to survive Ophelia makes a deal with the devil in the form of Aleksander Makovich, the son and heir of a Russian Bratva family. If she survives what he wants from her, to me their fixer, it will be a miracle and will take everything she has. But she will be able to keep Sascha, the man she loves with everything she has, but at what cost.

This is the first of three books in this series. Each book is about a different couple but the story-line continues through the books as do the characters. This is a very interesting and different story-line than most Bratva romance which made it a bit unsettling at times and really fascinating at other times while reading it. I am looking forward to the second book to see what happens next.

This book grabs you from the first page until the last page. In fact by the time you get to end of the book, you don't want the book to end. The story's background revolves around the Russian Bratva (Russian Mafia). The current Russian Bratva family in power is Makovick family. You will meet several members of the family, but only a couple have a sufficient role. Vyachaslav who is the Patriarch and Aleksander Makovick the most powerful man in Russian, the son of Vyachaslav and has control over the other Bratva families lives, especially The Fixer:. You'll have to read the book to find out how this came to be. And, does she get out from under this situatuation.?

This book has a female heroine, Ophelia Cherin, who is "The Fixer". She and her family are part of the Bratva. She was born into it. She has a boyfriend, Sascha Matheson, of 4 years and is an University Professor. While this is the story of the "The Fixer" finding her footing and role in the Bratva, we also followed Ophelia & Sascha love story. How well does Sascha deal with all of the twist & turns thrown at him, as well at Ophelia? Does their relationship grow closer or does it break up? You'll have to read the book to find out.

I received this book as an ARC via BookSprout for an honest review. I recommend this book for you to read if you are looking for a book that has action, intrique, suspense, pain, romance and love.

This is the first book of what looks like it could be a great series this first book concentrates on Ophelia and Sascha. They are not your typical couple for a start there are 18 years between them. He's an extremely smart University professor, he knows what he wants and he wants Ophelia despite their age gap and her families dislike of him.

Ophelia seems to always be the one to fix whatever messes her older brother or her parents get into with the Bratva Mafia. Its something she has a natural talent for. But now her very life, as well as her relationship with Sascha, is being threatened by the Organization.

These two were perfect for each other, they fit despite the age difference. Will he be able to help her solve this problem?

This is the 1st in a new series and is Ophelia and Sascha’s story. Ophelia is the fixer for the Russian Bratva, and Sascha is a university professor who is her boyfriend. Sascha knows that her job in dangerous and tries to support her and save their love, which sucks him deeper into situations he has no control over. Ophelia has a tough time as she is not treated well by her family, and when they once again cause a big mess, she is forced to strike a deal with one of the most powerful men in Russia. This is a well written story which is unique, complex and an in-depth plot. This story is filled with drama, danger, suspense, mystery, secrets, and love which all leads to a steamy read. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I really enjoyed this book! I love mafia romances and this one also has an age gap! I’m used to the men being tough and in charge but in this book Ophelia is the fixer for the Bratva and Sasha is her loving professor boyfriend. Ophelia got dragged into the family business after her parents plan to gain more power takes a dark turn. The book focuses more on the relationship between Ophelia and Sasha as there was not a lot of action. I believe there is to be a second book and I’m very excited to read that as I would love a happy conclusion for this couple (I love HEA). I’m also very excited to read about the other characters, Aleksander is very intriguing.

P.S. This book has some great steamy scenes!

This book was a little confusing for me i feel like I'm missing the back story .

I was confused the cover of the book has nothing to do with the book the fixed is a girl. Ophelia is the fixed weird name any way Ophelia has a relationship with a college professor named Sacsha they live in Russian. Ophelia loves Sacsha and wants to keep him safe. I like that Sasha who is much older than Ophelia doesn't have a muscled out body and they don't talk about his junk as if it's the biggest in the world . I also like that the story isn't about there sex life or have 50 pages of sex scenes. I don't want to read about another couple I want to know what happens to Ophelia and Sacsha when they go to America .

This started off great

But it ended up a tad bit dull. I needed more action from a fixer. Besides the plot about her and the old man she’s seeing I needed more. She wasn’t intense enough and most of her plot fell flat for me. I like the little nickname that her boyfriend gave her “Oppie” it was so cute. Even her 39 year old boyfriend wasn’t hot enough for me. One of the supporting characters even told him “you’re not hot enough to have a young 22 year old girl chasing you!” When I read that, you surely could see the phrase “I know that’s right” floating in a text bubble above my head. Lol... But I wanted to try it out though. And I purchased all three of them. Really wanted to love these. I will pick this up again later.

Sascha and Ophelia

Sascha is a university professor 18 years senior to Ophelia, the fixer and the love of her life.
The story about the Russian mob takes place in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Betrayal by her parents. The assassination attempt of the patriarch gone wrong. Secrets are revealed. People are played like puppets. There are several references to chess plays.

This is my first review for Raven Scott and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Read the book. I think you will enjoy it.

I received this ARC from Raven Scott via booksprout in exchange for my honest review.

The Fixer by Raven Scott is, surprisingly entitled for the FEMALE rather than the MALE in the story!!! Ophelia is the skilled ‘fixer’ for a russian mob boss, Aleksander. But, she is in love with Sascha, who is a Professor at a university. Lots of situations occurs including murder, mayhem, loss, and just a big mess!!! Her parents hate Sascha. They attempt the unthinkable and cause a HUGE MESS!!! Can she and Sascha overcome all of this???
Great story…lots of intrigue!!! I enjoyed this read!!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Not your usually mobster!
This book is not about your usually kind of Bratva person - becouse “The fixer” is not a guy, is a girl! This book will catch your heart! The characters, the suspance and the twists of the plot!
Ophelia is a russian mafia badass girl, who is in love of Sacha, a university professor - not quite the siple love story.
She use to fix all her family problems, but now is on the brink of doom - her, her lover, her family.... all is threatened!

just read it

This book will definitely keep you on your toes. Ignore the cover the cover has nothing to do with the book. In fact, they should’ve put a woman on the cover, but that’s beside the point it’s about the female being a fixer and always fixing her family’s problems from she was very young to being the fixer for the bratva while trying to live a normal life with her Professor much older boyfriend, but you will never figure out the plot because the plot just thickens every time you get close to figuring it out. moving on to book 2

This is a new series by Raven Scott and you will be sucked in from the start and won’t let you go until the end and you will still be wanting more. Sascha and Ophelia are explosive, steamy and seductive together. Their story is suspenseful and you will be on the edge of your seat. This is a new author for me and I can’t wait to read what she has in store for the rest of this series. I found this book on BookSprout.

I enjoyed this book, but it does end in a cliffhanger (which I am not a fan of). Great characters which all have interesting back stories. You can feel the emotional turmoil that Ophelia is going through and the love Sascha has for her. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop with Sascha. Maybe he is truly a good person with no alternative motives but... will definitely continue with this series.

This was an intriguing read with a little mystery unraveling. It tells of a girl who has had to fix her parents screw ups and is now ordered to fix other peoples messes. I look forward to the next book and to see how she tries to fix this next big problem she is facing. This was a well written book that kept you on your toes the whole time.

This is a book that draws you in and doesn't let you go.
Ophelia is known as the fixer and now the head of the Bratva has his hold on her.
Will she be able to fix what they want or will her life be taken from her.
They use Sascha, her life partner against her but will it work.
Ends on a bit of a cliffhanger but hopefully the next book finishes their story.

This is a great book by Raven Scott and I have to admit I absolutely loved this story. I was hooked from the beginning waningt to know what happened to Ophelia and Sacha. Ophelia has been through so much thanks to her family and Sacha has been with her every step of the way. Such a wonderfully written book with lots of attention to detail that made you feel like you were a part of every scene. I hope there is more to come because I would love to read more of these characters.

This is a good read about the Russian Bratva, and how they get what they want. Ophelia is a fixer, she spent years fixing problems her family caused, and when they died, the head of the Bratva threatened her into helping him. She thought she was ahead of the game, but found out that infact she was being played, and they were using Sascha, her boyfriend, to get to her.

This booked seemed to end on a cliffhanger, so hopefully there will be a second book to let us know how the story ends.

Based on this first book the series sounds promising. We have an intelligent female Russian mobster who is The Fixer and with an 18yr gap, a love interest in a professor. There is a failed assassination attempt, mystery and suspense. I liked this book, I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

I really wanted to like this book more. I thought there was going to be more action than there was. Instead I felt like it was all about Ophelia & Sascha’s forbidden love. The story is well written, but i didn’t connect with the characters. It took me 4 days to read it & im usually done within a day. I am willing to try another book from this author.

Refreshing to have a book focused on a strong, brave heroine!! She is a badass Russian Bratva!! Of course her lover Sascha joins her on the dark twists and mayhem that results when you are part of the mafia. Look forward to the next book in the series.

Not a cliffhanger, but not a true ending.

I was a little disappointed. I expected more action. I was expecting to see Ophelia do more as a fixer than I did. Most of it was about her forbidden romance with Sasha.
