I have to admit. I've read alot of books from Ellora's Cave. They are typically shorter novels and most of the time, a bit predictable. No complaints there. I absolutely get what I need from those stories. Some are sweet, romantic, sexy, edgy, interesting, intriguing, and fun. All across the board very enjoyable from this sexy publisher. Yet still, just pretty status quo in the erotica genre.
This book was not what I would have expected. I was shocked to feel tears coming out of my eyes during just the prologue! It was not only sexy and erotic, but immensely romantic and sad as well. This Hero was incredibly damaged and it came out in everything he did. He was not your typical gentle caring alpha hero. He was an enormous train wreck with a heart of gold that needed to be freed. He had to go through the hell of coping with his past in order to move forward and accept his woman's and his family's love. And go through hell he did. There were some parts in that process that were tough for me to accept. Really tough. But that also just made it all the more amazing when he came out on the other side. Now, would I have been quite as quick to forgive him in the end as she did?....not too sure about that. But eventually, heck yes! He was definitely worthy of love. The author also made me laugh at many points in the story. Lots of fun and humorous dialogue. And even some of the more intimate and, dare I say, raunchy dialogue, it was more real to imagine in some of our own intimate relationships. You know, the stuff you say to each other behind closed doors....the nasty stuff. It doesn't always have to be so "flowery" in a romantic novel. It was realistic and even made me cringe a few times...because at some point we've all said some of the same things. Don't deny it!!
I haven't read anything else from this author yet, but I would have almost compared this particular story to one of Lora Leigh's angst-filled stories. You know, the ones that keep your stomach in knots and your heart breaking and pounding! And that, to me, is a huge compliment. Great job RR. I'm pleasantly surprised and hope to read more of your work.

Para comenzar diré que no me gustó.
Me pareció la típica novela sentimentaloide al máximo.
Jill sufre horrores desde el principio:
Primero, por tratar de evitar una relación que sabe le va a hacer mal porque Barret es un mujeriego que no quiere relaciones serias y ella, debido a su historia, no quiere relaciones ocasionales. Después, porque Barret la atosiga con su seducción, su lenguaje y sus prácticas.
Luego porque él le hace ver que la relación no va ir muy lejos.
En fin, se la pasa sufriendo.
¡¡No sé cómo puede tener orgasmos con ese estado mental!!
Realmente no me gustan los personajes femeninos así, que no pueden vivir su sexualidad a pleno sin meter al amor en el medio como justificación.
La perlita la lleva cuando, en plena , solo pueda pensar cómo ama a Barret. ¡Por Dios!
Lo de Barret me parece simple y común en las novelas románticas: el traumado que no encuentra otra forma de superarlo que acostarse sin compromiso con un montón de mujeres y que no le hablen de compromiso.
Rescato las escenas eróticas, duras y sin pudores (eso me gusta, por eso dos estrellas en vez de una), aunque varias terminan en forma demasiado abrupta.
Si no fuera por las escenas eróticas podría decir que estaba leyendo esas novelas históricas de regencia con el romance entre el libertino que no sabe lo que es el amor y la dulce y amorosa dama que es capaz de todo por él. Y que él finalmente cambia por amorrrrrr. Bue.
No sé si fui clara.

Again ,this is a new author for me.I have to say that I did enjoy this book quite a bit and will certainley be reading her backlist.The hero of this book is BIG,he is sex on wheels and he likes his sex dirty and raw.The heroine, while not a virgin, has only had one prior lover and she has never had an orgasm.Well, needless to say, she will be getting her orgasms and more.When the H turns the thermostat down to 60 and completely strips the bed dowm to the bottom fitted sheets, he means business.This book may not be for everyone if they have not read erotic romances before, there is a sample of everything, but not quite.The stairwell scene was smoking.I will never listen to Albioni "ADIAGO" again without not thinking of one of the sex scenes in this book.AT the ending of ADIAGO, it is like one long climax, the music is that powerful.There were some angsty parts of this book that was nicely resolved, and the epilogue was just right.I do rec this book as it was one of the better erotic romances that I have read this year so far.....4.5**********

I read this in 2008 when it first was released (Ellora Cave) and loved it. It came out BEFORE the current trend of Alpha Males......
Looking back now (and having just reread it......again) it was definitely a leader of the pack AND a trendsetter. VERY well written.
I think that Robin Rotham was ahead of her time with this book which portrays an ALPHA man who is way......DIRTY! His mind exudes SEX. So many books I've read since then have had the ALPHA male in all his glory and heat but with Barrett George (BIG) we get a guy who is sexy, a bit demented (in a good way) and has issues.......issues that are heartbreaking in how they came about.
The female lead, Jillian Fox, is very likeable. Of course, she's beautiful. That beauty however, is inside and out. She is not one bit annoying. She's strong, smart, vulnerable, and even though BIG (Barrett George) shocks her with his dirty talk, she cannot help but be attracted to such a sexy man. She's also sexually-timid. BIG cannot resist her or the challenge her 'innocence' poses and he goes after her with all-guns loaded. Once on-board: what happens between them is pretty much dirty, hot, and graphic......in a good way.
This story also has a mystery and some danger involved in the unfurling of the mystery. This definitely adds drama to the storyline. Can Jillian be saved before someone gets to her?
There are parts of this 'love-story' that are so HOT, and those HOT parts are well written. The sad parts (which involve a man who needs to come to grips with an experience he had as a boy - no, not a sexual experience).......are heartrending. You can feel the man's pain and can understand why he is in a pattern of non-relationships - never allowing himself to commit emotionally to anyone. This is where Jillian comes in and she completely upsets his pattern. The conclusion is emotional and very satisfying for the reader. The ending.....wonderful.
Loved it then. Love it still. GREAT male and female characters. Yes, this book is erotic, but there is actually a story to be told, and emotions to be felt by both the characters and the reader.

Enjoyable book filled with lots of rough raunchy nasty sex. Barrett was a very dominating fucked up person throughout most of the book which most of it has to do with what happened with his mother when he was a boy. Loved the epilogue it was sweet,funny and a little sexy glad they got their HEA.
I was really liking it until one of my pet peeves happened. One of my biggest peeves is detailed sex that's not with the hero/heroine of the book. Yes, I know why the author did it but I still hated it. Sex has been one of Barret's coping mechanisms since he was a teenager.
***the m-f-m happens with one of his friends 1 time when he was fulfilling one of her fantasies. There is no m-m action in this book.

Whoa. This book had a kinda naughty, kinky vibe and I feel a little dirty for TOTALLY LIKING IT. Which is weird because I like both naughty and kinky books. Seriously, though, I felt like I needed a cold shower after some of the things these two did to one another. I have a sneaking suspicion it had a lot to do with Barrett's dominant Alpha-like tendencies in the bedroom. The guy brought dirty hotness to a whole new level. *fans self*
I loved that Barrett liked to push Jillian's boundaries. He liked to make her blush and he liked to push her body to accept things that she wouldn't try otherwise. On top of that, he has a reason for being the cold bastard that he is. Jillian, on the other hand, is not terribly experienced and she's walled herself off both emotionally and physically. Barrett doesn't let her hide. He makes her tell him her fantasies and he gives those fantasies to her. It never felt exploitative, though. Yes, he pushes her out of her comfort zone in bed but he's not doing it to humiliate her, he does it to show her that she's not frigid and liking the things she likes isn't wrong.
Barrett's an ass, Jillian doesn't want to get into a relationship and yet they steam up the pages whenever they get in the same room. It's fantastic. I have no shame admitting that I liked this book far more than I expected to. It was just the level of naughty I needed to read. Niiiice.

Robin refers to Barrett as, "her favorite damaged hero." Damaged he is. After reading, "Big Temptation", he may be my favorite as well. Experiencing his mother's suicide at the tender, impressionable age of ten has left Barrett George a big, hot mess. Outwardly, he is the epitome of a successful business man. Charming, confident and shrewd, his 6'5" frame and size 16 shoes are dwarfed only by his oversized ego and even bigger...uhm...appetites. But inside is still the scared little boy who is still trying, by whatever means necessary, to hide those feelings. He's been mostly successful...until he meets Jillian Fox. Jillian is not without her own demons. Seeing these two wage a war of wills was highly entertaining as was the inevitable surrender. Straight up HOT with a capital "H"! Well, not exactly "straight" as there were some pretty "kinky" offerings as well but you get the picture. A great bonus was the wonderful storyline that accompanied all that hotness. I laughed, I swooned, I even cried. Robin Rotham really knows how to write a great, you-will-enjoy-everything-about-it, story. I loved it!

Una historia que ha sido totalmente de mi agrado, y que sinceramente cuando empecé con ella no tenia grandes expectativas(que tampoco es que me haya sorprendido), una historia que si bien pueda ser un poco cliché, la manera en la que el autor decidió contarla me ha parecido genial, así como me ha parecido genial que estuviera bien contada, sin tanto relleno y sin capítulos que muchas veces piensas el por que los escribieron si no aportan nada a la historia.
Irresistible tentación, cuenta la historia de Barret y Jillian, él, un chico con una experiencia vivida cuando era niño, que ha marcado su manera de vivir, su existencia y sus acciones, que lo ha acompañado por mas de 20 años y la razón por la cual el piensa que jamás podrá amar a alguien, algo que me ha gustado de este personaje es la manera de como mezcla la personalidad de autoritario pero a la vez súper cariñoso y delicado, el personaje tiende a ser muy mandón pero mezcla la delicadeza y creo que eso hace que te enamores de el. Claro que eso solo lo puede sacar Jillian. Tiene dinero, pero por primera vez esto no es un punto fundamental en la trama.
Jullian es una chica que en ciertos aspectos de su vida es sumamente inocente pero que su mente no le impide explorar nuevas cosas, de las que Barret se encarga por supuesto, su personalidad cae bien muchas de sus acciones y su manera de pensar es debido al ejemplo que tuvo de niña hacen de ella la persona indicada para Barret, aunque ya al final de la historia no me gusto que no haya tenido su orgullo mas elevado y que cediera tan fácil, creo que me hubiera gustado que todo lo que le paso sacara la personalidad mas dura que podía dar, hacia Barret, hacia la situación, soy amante de los finales felices, pero no me apongo de que para alcanzar el felices por siempre tengan que sufrir los personajes, mas si ellos mismos la han cagado de manera universal, como Barret por ejemplo.
Una historia bastante común en ciertos aspectos, pero que es agradable leerla, es mi primera vez que leo a este autor y no me ha parecido que haya perdido el tiempo. Un final mejor creo que si se merecía la historia no por como termino si no los acontecimientos que el autor decidió escribir, el epilogo, estuvo muy corto y rápido, tuvo lo justo pero me hubiera gusto que presentara otra situación talvez mejor ahí.
RECOMENDABLE: si la recomiendo, la historia no se hace tediosa y la puedes leer sin tener muchas expectativas, sin esperar mucho a cambio, 4 Estrellas, por que hubieron situaciones que siento que dañaron un poco la historia, por lo menos para mi, no me gusto leerlas, y por que pienso que cuando estaba en la punta del iceberg falto mas de ese drama bueno del que yo siempre comento, de ese que te hace, morderte las uñas, sufrir, llorar o reír, aunque luego pues ya sabes lo que pasa. Lectura refrescante que deja un buen sabor de boca.

An added bonus to the work, is Jillian Fox, the tall, sexy redhead who he'll be working with really closely.
As soon as Jillian sets on eyes on Barrett, she knows all the rumors she has heard are true. He is definitely a player, and judging from his hungry looks, she is about to be dessert. In the beginning, Jillian does everything she can to avoid Barrett, but finally Barrett takes charge and forces her to come to terms with her desires. If they aren't careful, feelings could get in the way of their strictly sexual relationship, and Barrett wants to avoid that at all costs. But as things heat up, will Barrett and Jillian be able to sever ties and go back to their own lives?
From the moment I read that Barrett's initials were monogrammed on his shirt, B.I.G., I had to know more. Barrett and Jillian proved to be one hot duo. The sexual tension building up until...WOW! The love scenes were steamy and highly erotic. I have never before had the pleasure of reading any of Ms. Rotham's novels before, but I will say this.... I want more. Ms. Rotham is extremely gifted at what she does. Big Temptation was a great work of art, and I loved the main characters. Even the secondary characters were awesome. I would love to read more about Cherry and Bay. I will be keeping an eye out for any future novels by Ms. Rotham.

This wasn't at all what I expected.

Also, as other reviewers will point out. He was incredibly into dirty kink.
Normally not a problem, but the man didn't care one way or another if the female pissed on him type dirty.
Jillian... was alright. Don't remember much about her. She fell in love really fast.
He had issues.
They resolved the issues.
This wasn't at all what I expected.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked it, and yet there were parts of it that I didn't like at all. For an erotic love story, it was great. Barrett was strong and sexy and arrogant and even a little (ok, a lot) raunchy. For Jillian to jump right in and give him whatever he wanted after only ever sleeping with one other guy was a bit far-fetched. I can see how she would fall in love so quickly, and his issues regarding love and need were very believable. Their issues were resolved nicely, but I just didn't LOVE either one of them.

This was a damn great read! The story's prologue so very sad ( I had tears in my eyes!) with what Barrett had experienced in his childhood; with what Jillian had experienced and their connection. I loved the characters and how the story flowed, I couldn't stop reading from start to finish, I was enthralled.

I actually really like this book, until near the end... This book had interesting characters and was actually a pretty hot read, but I HATE when a male can just go off and have sex with other women (even if the two main characters are not together) and then have her act like it's okay. Just drives me crazy, but the rest of the book was really good.

Barrett.. OMG.. Que hombre más apasionado, directo, sucio y perv. Hombre cabezadura y necio al final pero que diablos. Me enamoré. (otra vez) :p Ójala luego de tener una primera experiencia pura droga como lo tuvo Jill viniera otro a borrar por completo todo de la manera que el lo hizo con ella. LA MADRE. MUERO. <3 pero no puedo dejar de leer estos libros. Me encantan :'(

Scorchingly hot! I think I singed my hair from the heat rising out of the pages. Some of the scenes were a bit too risque for me, much like erotica but the story was well written and the humour wasnt wrung out or cliched.

I wasn't sure whether I was going to like this book, but I took a chance. I'm glad I did. It is very, very steamy, but the characters were likeable (if a bit unbelieveable), and the story really draws you in and keeps you turning pages.

Could not remember the books title for the life of me! I have been searching for it for months now, and finally found it! This book has a way of getting into your head and never letting you go. Read hte first chapter and you will be hooked.

Steamy doesn't even begin to describe this. The characters were interesting and well thought out. The story was engaging and I was a little sad to see it end.
