This book is so important for the business world and for anyone who wants to integrate their whole self into their work. Success is so much more than exhausting ourselves week after week. This book gives readers a new way to tap into their inner strengths and knowledge. Why doesn’t every company make this mandatory reading? Why didn’t they make us read this in college????? Great book.
I think it's an interesting read and there're some ideas that I can apply to my job. It's well written and it kept me interesting. Recommended. Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Intuition at Work has helped me discover my own intuition. I've never thought about using my intuition to help me on the jobsite before but it has helped me understand all of the people both new and old that I have to deal with everyday. I highly recommend this book, it's easy to read with easy to follow practical exercises that help me to tap into my own intuition at work and home. I highly recommend this book.
Sometimes Tangential; Not Applicable to All Work Situations
The concept of this book intrigued me when I saw it at one of my favorite book review sites. I'm a firm believer in intuition and wanted to see how this author proposed using it at work. While the book certainly has some good information and meditations, I didn't feel like it applied to me in my work situation, unfortunately. The author geared it toward retail and service/office businesses. I am an RN who works in an inpatient setting, so the talk about selling, marketing, and many other topics didn't seem to apply in my situation. The book goes off on tangents occasionally, like panic attacks. I think she also spent too much time on the personal aspect of intuition and not at you as an employee on the job. I did appreciate that she didn't just look at what it is to be a worker bee but also a leader and manager who can use their intuition to benefit other workers and the company. Having had a terrible boss who dogged me for years until I eventually quit, I didn't think the author quite grasped the severity of a situation like that and other forms of harassment. In her chapter on working with troublesome people in the workplace, her essential answer seemed to be to simply send that person positive vibes. That certainly would not have worked in my case, and sometimes you need to trust your intuition to know when you need to speak up or get out. I'm going to re-read this book with an eye to see if I can apply a little more to my situation because I do love the idea of using your intuition at work.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This was a whole new take on using Intuition at work. It gave me a new perspective to help me use more than I’ve been using! Love it! And love the easy to read style!
There is a misconception that lingers in the world... that magic is somehow out of self. As if it is something external and inaccessible. What I like about Intuition at Work is that the exercises prove that magic and intuition are accessible to anyone... everyone. Once you understand that the metaphysical aspects of the world, like clairaudience, are part of us (not apart from us) you begin to see that the exercises in this book can be applied anywhere. It is comforting that the author keeps the exercises on a level that anyone can use. Someone new to accessing their intuition will find this guide helpful. Those who are more adept should be able to take these exercises to the next level without issue.
Thank YOU Melanie for infusing your wisdom and intuition and birthing a book that introduces the common workplace/business owner in trusting their intuition. This book offers so many great ideas and exercises to implement. In today's world, everyone needs to be focusing on meditation and manifesting and introducing it into the workplace is HUGE. I also LOVE the idea of connecting to spirit guides for clarity, creating a journal and using oracle cards and mixing that up with topics such as pick a stock is brilliant.
I was going to give this book more stars but the chapter on positivity and "nemesis" was absolutely tone deaf to workplace harassment and how sometimes, sending the bully positivity is not the solution and walking away is. I felt a disclaimer was needed and the chapter's intent misses a mark. Otherwise, a decent book on intuition if a little lost on what the goal is. It seems to focus on work but then dabbles in some personal goals (i.e. taking care of yourself).
