Walk the streets of New Orleans with Detective Mario DeLuca, as he and his friend, Detective Howard Blitz, work together to solve crimes and multiple murders. While holding true to the values of the True Blue police officers, Mario is also trying to come to terms with his own past and what's causing his night terrors.

Mario works tirelessly to solve a triple homicide that occurred in one of New Orleans's restaurants. At the same time, he tries to right a wrong that happened years ago when he was only a boy.

His tenacity and unwavering determination are also balanced with kindness and understanding for the people he deals with every day. Mario visits an old neighbor from his youth, and discovers that the fishing camp he went to on Irish Bayou holds a variety of secrets. Reconnecting with his boyhood friend, Mario finds out that there are family repercussions beyond what he imagined.

Mario and Howard are good at their jobs and even better as a team of detectives. They disagree, fight, call each other every name in the book, but they are True Blue partners. And more than that, they are friends.

Friends, partners, buddies, whatever people want to call their relationship; these two have covered for each other for years. Decisions on operating above the law might sometimes cross the line, but one thing is for sure, they always have the interest of the people who pay their salaries-the citizens of New Orleans.

In this action-filled novel, filled with biting dialogue, engaging characters, and the unique city of Orleans, there is joy, sorrow, rage, revenge, love, and hope as this story unfolds to reveal the unexpected.

Irish Bayou is an amazingly written book by a terrific author. While scary tentacles of death and fear spread from inside a prison, Mario and Howard have their hands full in this one. There is a lot of evil to fight.
This story is fast paced, suspenseful, frightening and very sad. Mario and Howard have to deal with many murders, revenge, drug cartel money and drugs and violent men out to stop them.
These two detectives are smart and get justice done their way. There is so much action you won't want to stop reading. This is one wild series.

As usual an un-put-downable winner!!

Mario finally gets some closure from the past and exorcises his personal demons. Howard is his usual fine self and we of course get lots of action, banter and fine-line crossing...

I LOVE this series and hope it never ends!...but it probably will at some point...

I received an ARC of this book from the author and I am thrilled to once again be able to give my positive and honest review.

Really enjoy this series he writes, the team of Howard and Mario is so much fun, but throw in Julie in the mix and you never know what’s going to happen. The two of them are so creative when they have to answer to Chief Parks, it’s awesome. Mac and Cheese team aren’t too bad themselves. It’s a great page turner. Thanks for the ARC looking for the next great read from this author.

Outstanding

Mario and Howard work a triple homicide while at the same time Mario is getting help remembering a murder he witnessed as a child. Are these cases related? Their problem solving skills and research assistance by Avery uncovers a lot of strings will they be able to tie them together and outwit a DEA who want to steal any possible glory. Hang on for fast paced tale.

A well-written murder mystery with a depth I don't see often. Going from the past to the present the case needs hard core proof and wrongs righted. A difficult and complicated series of events will keep you guessing.

I received a complimentary copy of Irish Bayou, number 7 in the True Blue Detective series, from the author. Thank you Sir for sharing your hard work with me. This series is the very definition of Southern Noir, and is a continuing story I am happy to recommend to friends and family. These are stories to take your heart and mind to New Orleans. In Irish Bayou Mario and Harold are faced with an attack on their very way of life, and their friends and co-workers are vulnerable as never before. As with all of these Zuppardo tales, this story is complete in and of itself, but the characters are fuller and more complex when taken in the whole tale. I cannot recommend it more highly as a way to spend time in the imaginary South.
