Great read

I loved this set of books and loved how you could jump straight to the next series in the set. It made it much easier to the next book in the series rather than go and search for each one. The books were really enjoyable and drew you into the world of macabre, torture and blood, of which there was plenty. The characters where perfect, each one coming with there own story, full of details, learning about each player of character so much so you could picture them perfectly. My favourites had to be of course Donny, Sara and Ricky. The relationship they had with each other bringing complete different sides to there personalities. A fascinating set of books with great storylines, that being to life the horrors of torture and games. Definitely recommend.

With a strong start, The Games had huge potential. Unfortunately, the series lacked focus and direction.

Imagine if Jigsaw was Hit Girl's father. It isn't hard to do.

I "read" the first three books, as audiobooks. The first was great (4⭐️s). The second was okay (3⭐️s), but somewhere between book 2 and 3 (2⭐️s), the plot lost direction and turned into a grotesque series of unfortunate events, linking one gratuitous torture scene to the next, with no apparent direction or destination - and the narrator didn't do the games any favors.

Ronald Young is easily the worst narrator I have ever encountered. In his hands, the most exciting scenes are bland, and his characters are completely devoid of emotion. When they speak, or think, their voices (even Pauly's) are utterly lifeless, sulky, and unpleasantly petulant. And it is even worse for the heroine of the story, who is by far the strongest character in the books. But when Young attempts to bring life to her voice, she comes across as a whiney, pouty, cry baby, weakling.

It is unfortunate. Maybe I might have had a higher opinion of Games if I had read them, and I even thought of giving the final 3 books a read, but it was too late. By then, I had lost interest in the plot.

Sea Caummisar does it again!

The six part Games series follows the life and times of a serial killer called Donny, detailing all his ups and downs as he finds himself forced to confront some very painful truths.
As the series begins, we find Donny hosting a series of brutal, vicious games where six of his captives are forced to hurt each other, or face the consequences.
When only one of them survives, Donny eventually decides to take that person on as his apprentice, but then he starts to get emotionally involved and that’s when all of his problems start.
For Donny works for something called Sanger Entertainment and when they say jump, the only correct response should be how high?
This was a dark, brutal, brutal, sick, sick series and it’s fair to say reading it was one hell of a crazy ride. Right from the get go, Sea doesn’t pull any punches and it’s fair to say that if you are at all of a sensitive disposition, this book is most certainly not for you.
It’s easily one of the best things she’s written, and one of my favourites by her so far!

Definitely extreme horror

I usually read books written by men because I use to have the opinion that women put too much romance, not enough action or gore. I will never stereotype like that again! I have read a lot of extreme horror books, this has to be one of the more disturbing, gory, sick books I've read.
I read the whole series, the first book was great. The 2nd and 3rd I was a lot of torture and not as much story as I'd like. The last few books I did start liking the characters more and I thought it wrapped up perfectly. Sorry I didn't give a good description of the books, I don't like ruining anything for those who haven't read it. Just a warning though, this is very gory, more so than the "Saw" movies.

Another Sea classic.

All right, I absolutely adore Sea's work. That's no secret. So, you may be wondering, why the 4 stars?

With this omnibus, I noticed that you can almost see the progression of her writing skills. The first book is almost like a glorified outline, but by the last one, she seems to have found her voice. Reading along and following her discovery of her voice was something special and I'm glad I had the opportunity.

As far as the story itself, as a whole, I was entertained. Some of the same elements were reused, which is fine. After all, there are only so many ways you can do things. The box situation with *that* character was one of my favorites.

A fitting ending to the series, for sure.

Not for the squeamish

This was really enjoyable... and touching. I could understand Sarah. The first kill is the hardest and it changes you forever, even if you aren't wired differently. Revenge can be sweet and a couple of those people got zero sympathy from me but no matter what you do it can't return a lost loved one.
I thought Donny was completely believable and my heart bled for him, especially in the latter part of the book. Sarah was hopefully waiting for him...
The way Sea writes is original and I love how her mind works (at least when writing) :)

Always feels a little weird to say I enjoyed this book series when the books are so dark and morbid but I did. I was reading this after raised by a killer. I usually read these book after my 9-5 cooperate job and they somehow relax me. The book is dark. Some of it definitely made me cringe. I think this one was definitely extreme horror and so detailed and graphic. There were parts I didn't think I would make it through and found myself reading with one eye closed cringe facing. Great work!

Not sure how I feel

This series had a lot of potential. First definitely needs a new editor. Second, I didn't get the "extreme horror" out of these books. I think instead of "both her hole parts" you should have used harsher words. These whole series could have used tons of harsher words.

This is a fantastic, dark and addictive boxed series with page after page filled with twists, turns, thrills, shockers, serial killers, blood, guts, gore and more! If you like dark, psychological thrillers as much as I do, this series is not to be missed.

I'm so disappointed in myself for not reading anything from this author sooner. This was the first book that I read, and I loved every bit of it. I hate love stories but throw in some murder and gore then you have me!! I will be looking for more from this author.

The story feels very rushed, almost as if the author was trying to sprint towards a conclusion each time. It's got a lot of extreme violence, but it definitely would be better if less rushed.

Very great gruesome series. If your not into extreme horror do not pick this up. But this was a great read. I did the audio. The narrator was fantastic, except for Sarah’s voice. Lol. It was annoying. But he did amazing otherwise. Story takes you on a wild ride of killers. I will continue to read Sea’s books. I’m on a mission to read them all. She is a very creative, detailed, and brilliant author!! You must read her books!!
