Missionary kid Kennedy's second year of college is filled with even more suspense, danger, and page-turning excitement than the first.
Back on campus at Harvard University, Kennedy finds herself enmeshed in a murder investigation when the son of a conservative politician comes out as gay. Tensions fly even higher when Kennedy hops on a plane bound to Alaska for Christmas break - a plane that might never reach its destination. And just when she's ready for a respite from all the terror and trauma, she's trapped in the middle of a hospital lockdown during a global epidemic.
Through it all, Kennedy learns to cling to her faith in God and let go of some of her previously held notions about what it means to be a fruit-bearing Christian in contemporary society.
The Kennedy Stern Christian suspense series tackles controversial issues facing the church today and brings them to light in a way that encourages questions and fosters discussions without ever turning preachy or heavy-handed. Find out why readers from all denominations, all walks of life, and all sides of the political spectrum are devouring this thought-provoking series from edgy Christian fiction author Alana Terry, who has won awards from Women of Faith, Grace Awards, The Book Club Network, Readers' Favorite, and many others.
When Alana isn't writing, it's likely that she's on the floor wrestling with her kids. Or playing outside with her kids. Or chauffeuring her kids. Or trying some random science experiment with her kids. But she's probably not cooking or cleaning.
Alana is a homeschooling mother of three who loves to write, hates to cook, and enjoys reading a good book almost as much as she enjoys writing one.
Alana won the Women of Faith writing contest for "The Beloved Daughter," her debut inspirational novel. "What, No Sushi?" is Alana's first book in a chapter-book series for kids published by Do Life Right, Inc.
I give 2 stars because: For someone to have lived in a communist country for approximately 8 years Kennedy is too naive. To believe Kennedy’s father did not impart any worldly wisdom onto her regarding real life American situations is not plausible since he was always keeping up to date with American After experiencing lung trauma Kennedy was able to speak clearly in just a couple days
You really need to stop and make sure you read the books prior to this. Books one, two and three are incredible as well as these are. I am blown away at how relevant to today these stories are. Alana has the ability to take you along with her and your heart is in your mouth and you are sitting on the edge of your seat, totally immersed. I am quite the skeptic but her writing style is just so brilliant and believable that you are hooked. Bye I am onto the next one 😂
Alana is never hesitant to tackle the real world topics and questions. Her insights into the Bible and the different ways these topics are interpreted by Christians of different denominations and maturity of faith. She creates an environment inviting believers to deeper study of the Word and faithful prayer, all while inviting the non-believer to Christ.
Kennedy seems to attack trouble. Alana works in more dramatic suspense and danger. It is good to see the character grew and mature. Trauma, peace, fear, safety, grief, joy,
Just being honest. I didn't care for the main character much, she just got on my nerves, as she always seemed depressed and unsure of everything. I did love the ending though. Good series, with good messages throughout.
These are so beautifully written. They have a bit of everything and so much that is relatable. Not all flowery and perfect which actually makes them perfect.
